EXCLUSIVE! BREAKING NEWS ON ‘NO SHOW’

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, Saturday, July 2, 2011) — THE PLANET is rather pressed for time this busy holiday weekend, but we have the final piece of the puzzle on the Beacon Hill Fix that will lead to the ascendance of Chris “No Show” Speranzo to the $110K-plus-bennies lifetime appointment as clerk magistrate of Central Berkshire District Court.

We heard late last night from a source, well placed and with reason to know, how the crooks plan to finish the coup de’tat that will appoint this eminently unqualified thief and liar to the mag’s office.

No Show Stole Votes and He Lied About It

Liar and thief: Yes, them be strong words, but in No Show’s case, they fit like beautifully. No Show is a thief for stealing votes in last year’s campaign, in which he narrowly turned back the challenge of Mark Miller to “win” re-election as state rep in the Third Berkshire District. The heist came in because he hid instead of campaigned, ducking all questions on the biggest commonly known secret around: That he had applied for the magistrate’s job. In other words, he “campaigned” on false pretenses. No Show is a liar because he didn’t admit to the truth that he had applied for the job, despite numerous opportunities. THE PLANET alone made multiple attempts to get his side of the story. He ran and hid every time.

No Show ducked campaign appearances, press conferences, debates, and in fact virtually all daylight where he would and could be confronted with the affrontery to his constituents and to the democratic process itself.

“Indefinitely Postponed” Vote Will Take Place Wednesday, July 6

The last we heard, the Governor’s Council “indefinitely” postponed its vote on No Show. Had the vote taken place as it normally does, No Show would have been defeated, 4-3. The council squashed the vote until No Show’s final supporter could get back from vacation — vacation, mind you; he was not out curing lepers.

Well, he’s baaaaaaack! At least he will be back for a vote this coming week. Yes, the “indefinite” postponement ends on Wednesday, July 6, in Boston, when the panel will vote 4-4, and the lieutenant governor will break the tie and give the papal blessing.

One Last Hope for Justice: Call Governor’s Counsel at 1-617-725-4030

The only hope of this not taking place will be for residents of Berkshire County to phone or e-mail the Governor’s Legal Counsel and enter objections. Of course, the timing of the vote, two days after the holiday weekend, greatly dims that hope, since it leaves Berkshire County with ALL OF ONE WORKING DAY TO RESPOND! What, you didn’t think Beacon Hill cared about you hillbillies in the extreme western part of the state, did you?

Governor Deval Patrick’s legal counsel is Mark Reilly. He can be reached at (617) 725-4005. His direct number is (617) 725-4030.

As Chief Legal Counsel, Mark Reilly is responsible for advising the Governor on legal and policy issues, judicial selection, legislation, and all legal issues concerning the Governor and the Office of the Governor.

The call is worth a shot. The vote on No Show stands as a litmus test for whether We The People have a chance in reclaiming government.

No Show got the nomination strictly on the basis of Who and not What he knows. He’s been a loyal soldier in the Democratic oligarchy. He’s played ball. But he’s never tried a case. Never appeared in a courtroom as a prosecutor or defender. Never been involved in a criminal court case. He has never drawn a paycheck outside that didn’t come from taxpayers’ pockets.

“He’s a nice guy.”

Bullspit. THE PLANET knows many nice guys, but it doesn’t mean you grant them cushy jobs they cannot perform. You wouldn’t put a nice guy behind the controls of a 747 just because he watched “Sky King” as a kid. You wouldn’t let a nice guy operate on you just because he once wanted to go the medical school. Moreover, No Show’s appointment will be an insult to every hard-working employee in Central Berkshire District Court, and especially to the two assistant clerks who have done a great job in the office for almost two years, the length of time the top job has been vacant.

This is poison politics pure and simple. This is why We The People have lost faith in government. This is why they refrain from voting, because of skunks like No Show and the enablers who make public embarrassments like him into the poster children for corruption.

Even if Speranzo was perfect for the job it’s clearly a waste of money since we’ve established the position is unnecessary. Give the assistant clerks a raise for stepping up and leave it at that.

Planet-have to agree with Allen above. Our taxes in city are going up another 5%. We keep hearing about the fiscal crisis, times are tough and etc. Theyve run the central berk. court efficiently without the job being filled, what’s wrong with keeping it that way, plus, mr. speranzo obviously isnt qualified for this job. We hope the governor is listening to the people on this!

Your taxes keep going up and the mayor keeps spending like a kid in a candy store. He has absolutely no sense of fiscal responsibility. Almost EVERY other town in the state and country is cutting back having recognized the economic downturn and burden on families. But Ruberto is spending and borrowing and spending like an addict. Apparently there is no way to stop him and his crowd of gypsies so leaving the city seems to be the only option.
