PLANET VALENTI News and Commentary

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 6, 2012) — Today is Good Friday. THE PLANET presents some food for thought for those who are interested:

“It is not for man to seek or even to believe in God. He only has to refuse to believe in everything that is not God. This refusal does not presuppose belief. It is enough to recognize, what is obvious to any mind, that all the goods of this world — part, present, or future; real or imaginary — are finite and limited and radically incapable of satisfying the desire [that] burns perpetually within us for an infinite and perfect good. … It is not a matter of self-questioning or searching. A man has only to persist in his refusal, and one day or another God will come to him.” — Simone Weil, the great French philosopher, who dies in 1943 at the age of 34. From On Science, Necessity, and the Love of God, ed. Richard Rees, London, Oxford University Press, 1968.

There shall be no further posting today in honor of the high holy day. THE PLANET wishes all of you — Jew and Gentile, young and old, believer and atheist, left and right, rich and poor, and everyone who thinks they are separated by the invisible differences that we allow ideology to make seem “real — a holy, happy, and healthy Easter weekend.

Anybody watch Duck Dynasty. One of the brothers looks like a Planetarian.

I think they would make great “Planetarians”. One brother fought for our country in the Vietnam war and the other is mentioned in Terry Bradshaw’s autobiography. Terry Bradshaw says that he owes his career to Phil Robertson. Phil was the #1 quarterback for Louisiana Tech.. Bradshaw was his backup. Robertson loved football but he loved duck hunting more. It seemed practice and the games interfeared with his hunting so he left the football program in his 4th year. Robertson would graduate with a masters degree and teach english ,I beleive, for 35 years. He also started his duck calling business and became a multi-millionaire. What have you done lately?

Well I guess that says a lot about “tito” seeing he judges people by their appearances.

What are you talking about? Are you serious? I respect everyone that served our Country! One of the brothers bares a striking resemblance to our own Deacon Dan, that’s all. Actually, it was a complement. we agree to disagree.

Guess it does says a lot about what people write. Here there’s a beautiful Easter message and you have a jerk who has to “show off.” Molly, Scott, Fan, and all the others on the planet happy Easter.
