SUNDAY, 2/3/13 — I’m not THE PLANET today. I am Dan Valenti. THE PLANET is the character I inhabit when I deal with the vagaries of the world, this veil of tears. As me, I wish to thank all the members of this online community for their support, good wishes, and expressions of love and condolence in this difficult time.

No one knows how to grieve. That’s the one thing I have learned. We all do it in our own, unique ways, and we must find our own way through it. One other thing I know. It’s in times of loss that one learns about the best in human beings, united as we all are — believers and non-believers — in the spirit of our common frailty. It is when we are we that we are strong.
