ED. NOTE — Breaking news for the Pittsfield Fire Department. Sources tell us that it will be hiring its first female fire fighter. The newbie currently volunteers in that capacity for the Lenox FD. THE PLANET finds that supremely and deliciously ironic given the tonic of our post below.

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY OCT. 9, 2017) — Don’t tell anyone you heard it here, but we have word through reliable sources of another alleged Steinism, one that would have been resigned to the dusty pages of historical oblivion had it not been for the outrage stirred among many local small businesses concerning the work habits of Round Randy Stein, a chipped bowling ball that loves the gutter, even in bumper bowling.

LOCATION: Friend’s Grille on Wahconah Street.

DATE: Recently.

We hear from Those Who Would Know who allege that Stein, an apparent frequenter of the soda pop at Friends, began a campaign of sexual harassment of one of the staffers there. Look, it’s tough enough for a good, hard-working woman serving up hope in a glass to deep, thirsty throats without dudes shadowing the shadows she casts in the artificial light. From what we hear, however, that didn’t dissuade Stein from his ministrations.

Multiple time, reliable sources claim, Stein did his thing — nine we hear — and it wasn’t related to any fire detectors with rundown batteries. The staffer was encouraged to file charges, but she didn’t, not wanting to “cause trouble” for one of the city’s more decent watering holes. Finally, as evidenced by Stein’s own hand, he got his measure of revenge, posting on his Facebook page words to the effect of: “I finally got Friends.” This indicates that this is how the man rolls. If he’s got it in for a business, he’s going to go to work.

Realizing the profound stupidity of posting his gloat, Stein quickly took the page down. Funny thing about the Internet, though. Nothing ever truly disappears.

With the local economy resembling a dry lake bed with fancy Trashcans, the only thing keeping it afloat are the barrooms, pool halls, restaurants, and other venues of the minimum-wage service sector. Stein has recently shut down The Lantern restaurant (est. 1926) through a scorched-earth March to the Sea. We also heard from another business, a retailer, whose owner told of having to deal with Mr. Bug not long after opening and having all the permits in good order.

On a public safety concern, does the out-0f-shape Stein still go out on fire calls. Sources say he does, filling in here and there on overtime. At one time long ago in a far and distant universe, Stein may have qualified for the demanding physical punishments of the job. Could he meet those demands today? Could he best THE PLANET in a 40-yard dash, even though we would spot him 10 calendar pages?

For some odd, unrelated reason, an old, diverted childhood rhyme pops into mind:

This old man, he played sick.

He played knick-knack on his stick

with a knick-knack polywog give-a-dog-a-bone.

This old man came rolling home.

How long will Mayor Linda “Trashcan” Tyer speak to us through her silence that such performance is acceptable? Does The Good Ship Lollipop care more about the protection rackets and beribboned garbage cans than it does about trying to right the floundering slave ships that house the citizens? THE PLANET doesn’t believe it has to supply the answer.

Pittsfield politics takes care of their Good Old Boys. However, Pittsfield politics blacklists anyone who speaks out against the Good Old Boys. Pittsfield will never change!
Pittsfield politics is a China-like one political party system ran by the Good Old Boys that relies on low voter turnout and support by the big 3: the Police, Fire, and School Unions.
The Berkshire Eagle has a news article describing violent crime numbers in North Adams and Pittsfield, which made the top 10 list for Massachusetts. Meanwhile, the lovely Linda Tyer recently said Pittsfield has seen a drop in crime.
Pittsfield’s statistics show losses in population and jobs. The Mayor, the lovely Linda Tyer, said there was a decrease in crime in Pittsfield. The Boring Broadsheet said Pittsfield made the “Top 10” for violent crime. Pittsfield is one of the most economically unequal communities in the state and nation. Pittsfield has large numbers of poverty or near poverty residents. The only was to obtain and retain a living wage job in Pittsfield is to be part of the Good Old Boys network or political hacks!

Re: My response to Chris Canning Wilson’s email

    October 9, 2017

    Hello Chris,

Thank you for reading my blog. I posted news stories about Carmen Massimiano and Angelo Stracuzzi respective scandals alleging their sexual deviancy with boys. I never understood why Carmen and Angelo never married each other because they have so much in common. As for Nuciforo, he is the bane of my adult life existence. I have spent many hours writing, emailing, and posting on my blog, my negative experiences with him. The most frustrating part of my history with Nuciforo is that he is conspiratorial and doesn’t leave behind his own fingerprints/DNA. To be clear, Nuciforo has other people do his dirty work for him. Nuciforo went from his third-rate career in Pittsfield politics to the medical marijuana “non-profit” business. Many other former politicians in Massachusetts have done the same when it comes to selling medical marijuana. As for John Barrett III, he is a Good Old Boy who Jimmy Ruberto took under his wing. When I think of former Mayor John Barrett, I think of the entrenched political establishment, see “Berkshire Brigades”, who ran Berkshire County’s already depressed local economy into the proverbial ditch! As for Alf Barbalunga, I believe he a Chief of Probation in one of the Berkshire’s district courts. His father is a retired Pittsfield district court Judge. Unlike the Barbalunga’s cousin, Carmen Massimiano, or Nuciforo, I think highly of the Barbalunga family in Pittsfield. Alf’s sister, Andrea, graduated with me in 1993 from Pittsfield High School. She was my class President. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck in your political career. I admire your independence streak in state politics!

    Best wishes,
    Jonathan [Melle]

Let’s stop giving the failing school Dept outrageously amounts of money and hire some police officers with experience.
We don’t need cops from small towns that have never investigated anything more than a missing wheelbarrow. Our problems are solvable, we just need real leadership.

I know where there is an extra wheel barrow. One of the handles has rotted off and the tire needs air but other than that it has all the potential of the city of Pittsfield. If anyone is interested have your people contact my people. Or the mayor.

So, now they’re saying the Nevada Police was one and a half hours into the contact with the shooter? Simple, they want to take credit for the kill, when in reality it was the hotel security guard. The whole thing smells of Pittsfield like cover-up.Aside….If a normal person with a lowly income did the things Harvey Weinstein did, they would have a twenty year prison sentence facing them. This guy is clearly a predator.
