WELCOME TO THE FREEZE-DRIED ELECTION .. or … MOON RIVER, WIDER THAN A SMILE

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY OCT. 25, 2017) — Once upon a time, in a dim and distant present — the time in Pittsfield’s electoral history where “now” officially and finally became “then” — an ersatz collection of “candidates” stood on the ballot pounded so thin by fluid-draining apathy that it out-“thinned” a wafer.

Welcome to the freeze-dried election. Just add water and stir.

In November, thanks to a neat bit of crookery known as “the new city charter,” the mayor’s office won’t be up for grabs. Add to that a series of deadly boring “races” plus too many candidates not worthy of official life, and you’re looking at single-digit turnouts so measly that lexicons will have to catch plate to include the new words bound to be created by linguists trying out-do “apathy” in hopelessness.

To give this counterfeit campaign any attention strike THE PLANET as morbid. Nonetheless, buoyed by the spooks of October, we shall do so.

Come on down, Helen Moon.

By the nature of her candidacy, The Moonbat neatly symbolizes the jejune, even-emaciated nature of Campaign ’17 by what she says, what she doesn’t say, and what she represents.

The Nature of Her Candidacy: Coronate Moonbat today. The Suits have seen to everything: publicity, finances, and best of all, creating hopelessness throughout the city which, last time we checked, still includes Ward 1. THE PLANET makes the latter statement guardedly, since the singular ward has not been truly represented since the days of Rockin’ Rob Tuttle. Now that she’s unofficially officially in, Moonbat can go about Job 1, which is to advance every initiative of the Powers That Be to the detriment of Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski, an ordinary pair of bedraggled  taxpayers who have managed the minor miracle of dwindling in number yet found living in all seven wards.

Here’s the Secret Electoral Plan For Ward 1, given to THE PLANET from a person some consider the Suits’ capo di tutti capi. Capo says “They” wanted the present Ward 1 councilor out, for reasons not divulged. Conveniently, all of a sudden Lisa Tully got a “headache” and decided not to re-up. In her place, The Suits dialed up an even more “Won’t rock the boat” type, one who will perpetuate the fiction that all is well, raise taxes, support more $$$ for the school department, and forever be grateful to her masters.

Capo says they thought they had found the perfect choice in Ty Allen Jackson. TAJ, you see, had the right stuff plus the perfect pigmentation. How could he not throw a perfect game? Answer: By having the spine to think for himself. For The Suits, independence is the Cardinal Sin. They expect their “house Toms” of both gender and color NOT to be “uppity.” This may have lost TAJ a council seat but boosted his value in THE PLANET‘s eyes.

The incident, if true as Capo relates it, shows that “Pocohontas progressives” care about minorities only if they can exploit them for political purposes. “Racist” might be a suitable word to describe this bad strategy. Consequently, all of a sudden TAJ mysteriously falls through the trap door in the proverbial back room at Remo‘s. Enter Moonbat, in record time primed and ready for her star turn. As for TAJ, he will serve hard time in solitary, after which he may be allowed  in through The Suits’ service entrance. Sad.

What She Says: Blather. All blather. Moonbat speaks in the boilerplate of a teleprompter, the words inputted by someone else, rotely scrolling cliches’ uttered in the ornamented style of a finial — looking good but serving no practical purpose. “Strategic … dynamic … vibrant … initiatives … diversity… I hope to engage new people … I am really so inspired … There are so many great things in Ward 1.”  Blah blah blah. Stick a fork in her. We think she’s done. Put her in office now.

What She Doesn’t Say: Nothing about cutting taxes, which remains the singlemost important policy move that Pittsfield can do. Nothing about reducing city spending. Nothing about reigning in an out-of-control school department. Nothing about the need for across-the-board accountability for all city departments, especially department heads. Nothing about SPECIFICALLY dealing with “Untouchables”-type crime and mayhem.

What She Represents: The young, attractive face that vapidly projects the “feel good” image of a Viagra ad or a hair-shampoo commercial. Underneath the sunshine and flowers, one can search diligently for political courage and intellectual substance only to surface empty-handed with a bad case of the bends.

THE PLANET would remind Helen Moon — and all who will win office, for that matter — that we will gladly meet with any of them over coffee, on or off the record. For THE PLANET, coverage is never personal. It’s political. Our advice to the winners: Toughen up your hide. When you assume public office and utter the oath, you declare youself fair game. You are and will be held accountable at this address.

Good luck to you all. You’re going to need it.

No mention of the issues that matter because poverty helps big government to grow even bigger. This is why poverty has increased with Progressives in charge in this area. In order for big government to become even more powerful there needs to be a large number of people dependent on big government.

Senator Warren, a consumer watchdog? That’s laughable. She’s a liar of the first degree. Call her Liawatha, Sitting Bull, Pocahontas – for lying about her ethnicity. She claims to be an American Indian, and has used that lie to get into schools and to land jobs. Vote for Geoff Diehl! He’s leading the effort to reduce MA. taxes and is against illegal immigration.

It does not matter what Miss Moon says or does not say. Campaign rhetoric is hollow and insulting. And almost all political wannabees are coached by their mentors to do it. Yet there is a large segment of the voting population that still take them seriously.

Here is a tip for voters.
A very high percentage of political candidates are nothing more than actors auditioning for a role in government. They use boilerplate worn out phrases used by almost every other ladder climbing , fast talking has been politician before them. They practice their speeches in front of a mirror. They get out in front of the people and pretend to actually give a shit while inwardly looking forward to the goodies waiting for them in the government hand basket.

And because of this masquerade the truth is when you vote you have absolutely no idea what you are really voting for. You might as well be at a carnival trying to win a teddy bear made in China. Voting has become a feel good practice that has little to do with getting decent representation.

So don’t beat yourself up if you are too sick to get out and vote.

What does it matter? The next Mayor of Pittsfield will face a fiscally insolvent municipal government.

Pittsfield politics is always predictable! They raise taxes by about 5% each year while the tax base shrinks with population and job loss. The political hacks serve the Good Old Boys. The little guy – Mary Jane & Joe Kapanski – gets screwed.

Jimmy Ruberto’s real home is in Naples, Florida. He doesn’t care about what happens in Pittsfield, Massachusetts!

Dear Rinaldo Del Gallo III,

I see you are the Attorney representing a man who wanted to speak as a Libertarian at Boston’s Free Speech event this past summer, which was one week after the White Supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Your client was terminated from his job due to his association with the aforementioned event in Boston that Mayor Marty Walsh spoke out against.

Please share your thoughts about President Donald Trump and his staff who are associated with the alt-right movement that has taken hold in both Europe and the United States of America. What are your beliefs on Neo-Nazis, White Supremacy, White Nationalism, and the alt-right movement?

As your friend, I wish to explain my views on the alt-right movement. I condemn it! I believe in Human Rights for All Peoples and people. I believe that the alt-right movement is totally immoral. It stands for everything this country stands against. We fought Hitler in WW2 and his violent, hateful ideology should have died with him in the Spring of 1945.

As for your lawsuit against the Mayor of Boston, I believe there is a relation or correlation between the Charlottesville, Virginia event one week prior to the Boston Free Speech event this past summer. To say there was no relation or correlation is wrong! The alt-right is both overt and COVERT! I disagree with you about Marty Walsh’s stand on the event he spoke out against. I believe Marty Walsh did the right thing! He spoke his beliefs and showed himself to be a man of conscience who represents all of Boston’s diverse residents.

Sincerely,
Jonathan Melle

I understand Jimmy Ruberto’s M.O. all too well. He is a snake oil salesman who moved from Texas as a man in his 50’s in the year 2001 into his mother’s Pittsfield home, then he proceeded to put his mother into a nursing home, thereby usurping his own mother’s Pittsfield home as his base of operation to run for Mayor of Pittsfield.

Jimmy Ruberto is the King of the Good Old Boys club that ran Pittsfield’s already depressed local economy into the proverbial ditch. He appointed Carmen Massimiano as Chairman of the Licensing Board. He even had Luciforo swear him into his 3rd term as Mayor of Pittsfield in early-2008.

My biggest regret in my experience in Pittsfield politics was believing in Jimmy Ruberto’s falsehoods!

I am seriously considering running for Mayor in a couple of years. My agenda will be very simple, develope our PEDA property, put something into the existing Sabics property, sustain and grow General Dynamics, bring in business like an Amazon. Currently we have one of the best products in the world with the LENCO vehicles, we need to grow that, ten fold. One thing our area does have is beauty, we have many venues and not just Tanglewood. We have to get a hold of the current crime escalation, zero tolerance, when it comes to drugs, assaults. We have to Stop the Fgiveaways in exchange for minimal jobs, Covanta is a prime example. Private enterprise like the Beacon Theatre must make a go of it on it’s own.

“Pittsfield Ward 1 candidate Michael Cirullo halts campaign”
By Amanda Drane, adrane@berkshireeagle.com – The Berkshire Eagle, October 25, 2017

PITTSFIELD — Ward 1 candidate Michael Cirullo says he’s no longer actively seeking the City Council seat.

His name will appear on the ballot on Nov. 7 nonetheless, as the ballot was already finalized.

“I have ended active campaigning,” he told The Eagle.

That leaves Helen Moon as the only candidate actively seeking the Ward 1 seat.

Cirullo said the decision to halt the campaign came because no one wanted to hear hard truths about the city’s financial situation. Going door to door telling people we have to close two schools, he said, made him wildly unpopular.

“I’m not what I think of as a politician. I’m not a speech-giver,” he said. “I’m a numbers guy.”

Plus, he said he didn’t get the endorsements he’d hoped for and got caught up with selling a building for his work. Cirullo works for General Dynamics and is the business agent for IUE-CWA Local 255.He said that as a political novice he didn’t realize how hard it would be to get people on board with cuts to services. He said the city needs to look at the money coming in and reduce accordingly.

“The arts, parks are great when we can afford them,” he said. “There is no magic bullet — it needs to be consistent, steady growth.”

He said his first run-in with politics has been disenchanting, but he’s intent on staying involved in the community.

“Someday maybe there’ll be an appetite for the things I’m talking about,” he said.

Decent people are better off not in politics. It just ruins your whole perspective of people and human values. If you are not a good liar, bull shitter and or conniver and are not in bed with the financial backers you will not get elected in Pittsfield anyway. Cirullo did himself a huge favor. Pittsfield is what it is and its trajectory is downward. Leave the carcass to the hyenas.

So sad that only Moon is running in Ward 1 now. It just gets worse and worse for Pittsfield. The school people do run the city and own the politicians since nobody else bothers to vote. Also sad that Cirullo could find no intelligent life in Pittsfield who would listen to words of wisdom. Again, this is why the city is in so much trouble. Schools have never taught critical thinking skills in this area.

The problem is that you have to have money and political backing in order to challenge the ‘chosen ones’. That makes it nearly impossible for any normal citizen that is not backed by a union or a certain political party to win.
This is not democracy.

SHH, that’s not the definition of democracy. Actually it’s government by the people; especially rule of the majority.
A gov’t controlled by special interests and the wealthy is not a gov’t of the people. Therefore it’s not a democracy, at least not in the real sense, and certainly not what our founding fathers envisioned.

Rachel Maddow has done nothing but put down Trump and accuse him of Russian collusion. Same with all of “in the tank with Democrats” media. All of them were lying since we now find out that Hillary and Democrats were the real Russian collusion to try to destroy Trump.

This is why the media being in bed with one party is so DANGEROUS for the country. It’s like living in Russia where you only hear what the media wants you to hear since they hide the rest if it makes those they favor look bad.

A key fact ignored in criticisms of Clinton’s supposed involvement in the deal is that the uranium was not — nor could it be — exported, and remained under the control of U.S.-based subsidiaries of Uranium One, according to a statement by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission:

NRC’s review of the transfer of control request determined that the U.S. subsidiaries will remain the licensees, will remain qualified to conduct the uranium recovery operations, and will continue to have the equipment, facilities, and procedures necessary to protect public health and safety and to minimize danger to life or property. The review also determined that the licensees will maintain adequate financial surety for eventual decommissioning of the sites. Neither Uranium One nor ARMZ holds an NRC export license, so no uranium produced at either facility may be exported

FBI agents and a confidential informant made secret recordings, gathered records and intercepted emails as far back as 2009, which showed that Russian officials had compromised an American uranium trucking firm with bribes and kickbacks

How is Hillary Clinton involved?

Clinton served on CFIUS when the inter-agency committee voted in favor of the Uranium One deal.

The FBI and the informant prior to the deal going through also had obtained documents and an eyewitness account that Russian officials routed millions of dollars to the U.S. benefiting the charitable foundation of her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

Actually, Hillary designated an under-secretary of state to occupy her seat on CFIUS and was not involved in the reviews. Probably she was too busy flying all over the world to get into the technical details of the CFIUS committee.
