PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY JAN. 16, 2019) — Yet another company looking to sell dope to dopes has applied to operate in Pittsfield. The growing number of would-bes includes Tenesel Wellness, Pure Botanicals, and Berkshire Roots. There may be others, but forgive THE PLANET for losing track. Sometimes things happen in such quantity as to make counting an Ed Wynn exercise or to invite a gratuitous photo-op for the mayor.

Don’t bogart that joint, my friend. Pass it over to Pittsfield.”

The operational angst that afflicts the budding marijuana market has played out in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts just as you would guess, tangled in a Medusa-head of legalism, red tape, bureaucracy, and politics. It doesn’t have to be so. What could be simpler than making the growing, possession, and selling of pot outright legal with no governmental involvement? Just free up the whole bong. That would remove too much tax money, you say? The government-run pot industry’s exorbitant taxes keep most of the business underground and illegal where it was, is, and will always be.

Rooooooooooooooooooooooooll another one. Just like the other one.”

If you want to grow and smoke pot, you should be able to do it 100% freely. Same with companies that want to sell Mother Nature. Let them open stores with free market supply-demand regulating the business. Just don’t expect it to happen around here, not with the Commonwealth’s meddling politicians. And do you wonder if the coveted permits in Benigno Numine will be given out fairly or only to those who have “played (ahem) ball?”

In the immortal words of Henry Patrick, “Give me liberty, or give me meth.”

Speaking of the munchies (WARNING! Cute Segue Alert!), it cost taxpayers $400,000 a month for the Pittsfield Public School Department to provide free meals to students. Yes, Virginia, there is such a thing as a free lunch … and a free breakfast. The 400 Large come from federal coffers (USDA) not from city monies, but it’s still taxpayer dollars.

Actually, $20,000 a day to feed kids might be the necessary evil of two lessers. The alternative would be to let kids pony up lunch money, but Pittsfield is so poor (nearly 3/4 of the school population) that it’s certain some kids would not eat. A hungry kid has no chance at scholarship or achievement.

The free meals made news when the PSD revealed that in light of the government shutdown, it has enough money to keep the program going for another two months. After that, it will either have to ask for payment from families of find the money elsewhere. We agree that the meals program must be kept going. At that same time, we mourn the sad state of public education. As long as schools must provide daycare for families who won’t or can’t, it can’t fulfill its prime directive, which is to educate children.

Maybe it’s time to ask JIV, Kristen Behneke, and the other overpaid apparatchiks in the PSD to kick in a few of their own dollars when the money runs out. Ah, but you know where they’re going to look.

Gotta mirror?

“Everybody, sing along! Don’t bogart that joint, my friend. Pass it over to Pittsfield.”

Marijuana is legal on the state government level, but it is still illegal on the federal government level. That means marijuana drug dealers like Nuciforo, who is also a third-rate Attorney, is breaking federal laws.

What will the political hacks do with the new tax revenue from marijuana sales?

Right on man! Tyler with another photo op sniffing as one week,!accompanied by Far Away Farley-Bouvier who no doubt had the munchies and was looking for some pot laden brownies to help enhance her effed up thought process for stealing more of tthe Kapanskis’ cash. Two peas in a pod, or should I say Cheet and Chong!!!! And Bouvier wants to eliminate the kickoff in football, give drivers’ licenses to illegals, and tax your ads on miles driven, among other hair brained ideas. And both of them supported DA Hardly Harrington, who admittedly doesn’t want to put hardly anyone in jail. But of course, all 3 of these idiots will show up at a DARE graduation and blow (pot smoke???) smoke up the parents butts.

99 Now you’ve got it. That’s where the stones need to be thrown. These two that you are speaking about dont have an ounce of nervous tissue between them and are the recipients of the Gobsig network. In the public sector they would belong to the clerical staff with no decision making responsibilities. This is who is deciding Your future. I know it is hard to swallow but the only correction to this incompetent administration is the ballot box. Do you think the city sheep will come out and get rid of these miscreants?? I doubt it but I will not give up and I hope you won’t either because I dont believe we can take this much longer. We are all in jeapordy.

I tried to get a job, but no one would hire me. If I wasn’t a disabled Veteran, I would be financially insecure and at-risk of homelessness. I was blacklisted by the Nuciforo network many decades and years ago. Nuciforo had people bully me on his behalf without Nuciforo leaving behind his own fingerprints since I first met him at a Democratic political event in Dalton when I was 20 years old during the Spring of 1996. From the Fall of 1997 – the Spring of 1998, Nuciforo filed multiple state “ethics” complaints against my dad, who worked in the Pittsfield District Court Probation Office and served as a Berkshire County Commissioner. Nuciforo tried to get my dad fired from his state government job and resign from the County Commission seat. When that did not work, during the Spring of 1998 – Summer of 1998, when I was 22 and then 23 years old, Nuciforo set up secret plans with the Pittsfield Police Department to have me arrested based on Nuciforo’s false complaint that I made “veiled threats” against him. During the Summer of 1998, Nuciforo, along with Daniel Bosley, filed a rider to the FY1999 state budget to abolish Berkshire County government. There were no public hearings, and the measure was approved during the informal legislative session. For several years, Pontoosuc Lake, which is in both Pittsfield and Lanesboro, was placed in an accounting agency. The beautiful lake was infested by seaweed. The state’s response was that accountants don’t maintain lakes. The irony of Nuciforo and Bosley’s sloppy abolition of county government was that in 2006 Nuciforo anointed himself to a former county government position called Pittsfield Registrar of Deeds, and then in 2010, Bosley unsuccessfully ran a campaign for a former county government position called Berkshire County Sheriff. For years on end, Nuciforo openly talked about ousting Congressman John Olver. Because Nuciforo was so mean-spirited to me and my family, he wanted me out of the way, which meant he had people spread vicious rumors against me to the people of the Pittsfield area, despite the fact I already moved to Amherst, NH to live with my family. Nuciforo had people tell everyone that “all Jonathan Melle ever did was stalk a Jewish woman from Otis” and “Jonathan Melle belongs in a psychiatric institution”. The woman’s father, who back in the 1990’s was an environmental science Professor at Berkshire Community College and lived in Becket (close to Otis) was one of Nuciforo’s henchmen bullies would always viciously point his finger at me, verbally assault me with hurtful insults, and he even threatened to physically assault me. I had to meet with the Massachusetts State Police detectives at the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office during the Fall of 1999 to finally resolve the +3-year-long domestic dispute. To be clear, Nuciforo set up the whole negative situation, manipulated and had me bullied, and then he had his people spread vicious rumors against me to silence me so he could proceed to oust Congressman John Olver. BUT, I would not be silenced, and as I told Nuciforo many times over, I will always speak my good conscience as long as I live. Nuciforo may scare and bully many people in the Pittsfield area, but he does not scare me! After Nuciforo lost his failed campaign for U.S. Congress in 2012 by 40 points to corporate PAC Congressman Richard Neal, Nuciforo went from being a shill for Boston area big banks and insurance companies to a drug dealer of marijuana products. The company he founded, which was re-named “Berkshire Roots”, is the largest grower of cannabis in Western Massachusetts.

Many parents are poor or unable to feed their kids due to drug abuse and government steps in to fill the need. Government is also promoting pot at the same time so does anyone see a problem here? We have government celebrating the opening of pot shops. Really!!?! Is this a good thing for society?!? Independent people who can care for themselves would be a much worthier goal. It’s all justified because government can charge high taxes on this junk?

Ironically Pat, the reason the kids cannot afford their own lunch is because they spend their own money on pot. So the government then steps in and buys them lunch. It is this mentality that makes American schools far down the list of countries giving the best education

The community I work for proposes spending almost $700k for a new park with pickleball courts. While I disagree with the expense and site, the courts are no doubt in demand.

In our case to access property we already own, we must build a new bridge over a creek, adding several hundred thousand dollars to the price tag. Adding courts into an existing park should be relatively space and money efficient.

One thing every home owner in this city needs to do is to keep an eye on houses with similar square footages to their own which have sold recently. The sale price of the home is key. I know a person on the lower westside who’s house was assessed at 94000 dollars. A home similar to my friends home sold for 60,Ooo. He went to the assessors office and had his home assesment significantly reduced. Everyone who plans on staying in there homes for their lifetime should always check out the prices that homes similar to their S are selling for. Conversely if you are thinking of selling your home you should also monitor activity in your neighborhood to insure your assessment is as high as possible so you can sell your house for the most you can get

The government of Pittsfield has raised taxes way over what they need to run the government and provide services. So they then have the financial leeway to create projects our of thin air and if they happen to benefit a donor or connected friend or family member that is just gravy on the cake.

Johnny: when the city has a surplus the first thing the city should do is reduce property taxes. The surplus is coming from over taxation of the taxpayer and they are due this so called tax reduction. Some free cash should be on hand to take care of unforseen emergencies. Free cash has become a slush fund for the incompetents in city hall. I wonder how many taxpayers would have approved the 200 thousand gift to bcc for a football field?? This in my opinion was wrong as the city doesnt own the field. I think the money would have been better spent on the parks the city owns or for the ski tow at oceola park so the kids could ski. After all the money belongs to the city of pittsfield residents and we should have a say on how our money is spent.

Did the mayor actually say that fraud lawsuits were a part of doing business? That does not sound good for the taxpayers but if she really believes that perhaps we should revisit the Beacon caper. The fact that that guy was allowed to dance off into the sunset tells you all you need to know about the mayors “Pittsfield Stride”.

The Beacon was a cash cow for somebody. This deal smelled at the end. Stanley was not reinvesting in the business or paying the banks back.Where did all the money go.No leadership in the mayor’s office or in the School Department .

Do you think the CEO of Wayfair will be a bunk buddy of Fat Pat Muraca.

Defrauding stock investors, one investor at a time, a Pittsfield tradition.

The scam that is Wayfair
(A fitting partner for Pittsfield)

One of many fraud suits against Wayfair was just filed, expect more to come and expect the dirty details of a near ponzi scheme operation to come out in subsequent lawsuits.

Wayfair’s business model is not sustainable, they lose millions every quarter and that loss is widening. What wayfair has learned is the good old “pump and dump” routine, something that plays well to the Tyer administration and Pittsfield in general.
Overinflated claims that go unfulfilled, claims that get lots of press and fanfare but are hollow and fraudulent.
Remember the 500 General Dynamics Jobs (really only 76)
Remember the 110 Interprint Jobs (really only 9)
Remember the hope that was a $30 million movie theater? ($700k in the open market)
Wayfair will be the same; those 300 jobs, it will be amazing if any materialize at all. Already internally they are back peddling, saying it will be fewer, that they are having difficulty finding the “right space”, that applications have been underwhelming.
The one thing Wayfair does know how to do, get tax breaks and earn money for the C3 group by hyping their numbers then dumping their stock.

Tyer’s vibrant and dynamic Tammany Hall. She was the appointed city clerk by the Ruberto Regime and in charge of the last Mayoral election winning all 7 wards and 14 precincts a near impossibility.

People might want to read that latest Wayfair story asap as I imagine it will disappear rather quickly. All stories reflecting negatively on the city have a short shelf life as city hall tries to manage its reputation by controlling information.

Dan,

You’re welcome. The earlier link was to The Eagle story, which of course was scantily clad but did have the great quote from her Honor. Here is the IBerkshires link, which has more details, as usual:

Between pickin apart the pickleball park pick, and the shootings and The Wayfair Wave, you sure have lots of juice for your columns.

My oh so wise thoughts;
1. Don’t blame kids because they are poor or have bad families. They do t chose what environment they are born into.
2. The Beacon embezzlement would pay for 10 YEARS of free lunches. Still no action on that from Mayor or DA.
3. Pot should be legal but it’s been codified by the state in how it’s set up to make rich people who were already rich. The legal inequity of making minor drugs illegal and then railroading violators will still be there. In my crystal ball I see sometime in the future prosecution of illegal pot sales (black market).
4. I also foresee some kind of robbery against one of the pot places as they can not legall bank without tripping maybe Federal watch lists. Who knows if Buddy Bank etc are compiing with Federal Law on this but if they did – all parties would be on a watch list. If any children are targeted for drug sales (or other violations like money laundering) they are meant to ring the bell. It means in practice more unsavory characters in the area, and probably more crime.

I assume the city gets a cut of all pot sales? If so what account will it go into and will it be used to fund pickle ball courts for school dept employees to use on their long lunches or days when excess staff members have little to do?

Pat probably has it sussed about this legal pot deal. Legally sanctioned deals to raise tax revenue to keep bloated governments afloat. To get their zoning deals made they negotiated Host Community Agreements. Dan could review those as they are public documents and probably very fascinating.

This trend of not dishing out proper justice for crimes in the name of social justice will create more crime.

I don’t know what that link is. State sanctioned drug dealing and incarcerating other drug dealers is what we are talking about. The Rockefeller laws were a huge disaster and now they have legalized weed to protect white boy college students. Never under estimate the desire of the population to get wasted. The courts in Pittsfield will continue to prosecute the cannon fodder drug dealers while other legal drug dealers get rich. Sounds about right!
Btw, have you ever spoken to the MA AGs office. The people there aren’t even lawyers. The dumbest bunch of people Maura Healey can find, sounds like something AH is modeling. I hope to goodness someone finds a better candidate to run against Healey She is THE WORST.

Rumors have it that there will be a whole group of snowflakes falling on the city Sunday. If you wait until Monday to start your cleanup it will be much harder on your machine and back and the wind chill may be 20 below zero.

Try to get a portion of it done before dark on Sunday during half time. And if you will be on the road don’t be your usual asshat self. And yes, I am talking to you Fritz.

IN THE HOW’S THE NEW DA DOING FROM INSIDE THE OFFICE:

Our new DA has dyed her hair pink. Wears a leather skirt or pant with leather vest WHEN she rarely shows up at the office. As she said, “I’m the face of the office and won’t be doing court work anyway.”

Work is left to her lackeys who are struggling to get traction on cases.

Meanwhile, Ms. Moon has set up the little “healthy table” with a few healthy snacks (blech) with bottles of effervescent spring water.

When our DA said she was going to clean out the office, I didn’t think colons were what she was referencing.

Let the slide to oblivion continue….

The Gman made fowl tyer stew on his Wednesday show. It looks like he got some more rotten tyer ingredients to add to it next week. No one can stew the stooges like the Gman. This stew buffoon stew also has a rancid smell that is so bad that the Gman has to wear a gas mask when he is making it. When it is done it is not fit for consumption by man or beast but the gobsig elected buffoons love it and this is why they all stink to high heavens. If the Gman was elected mayor the number of buffoons in this city would be significantly reduced and the city budget would be down by a total of 28% by now. Because he is real corporate executive he knows how to run a successful businesses and is keenly aware that the buck stops with the city’s elected officials. The whole lot of them haven’t a clue as to how to run a city. Tyer calls success saving city residents 2.1 cents per day. She is even bragging about this 2.1 cents per day. This alone proves she is totally clueless and she must be turned out of office in November. Her and the bulk of the council need to be given their walking papers and allow others who will have the taxpayer in mind with their every vote. Let us not forget their mid steps on a daily basis and remember every one of them at election time. They must go.

How often does Moon set up the “healthy table”? Hopefully it will not cost the taxpayers another $400,000 a month as do the kids healthy lunches.

Its amazing how many people on this blog are not aware of some of the most important things that are or not going on in this city. We are all aware that the eagle and local radio stations are one in the same and are very pro administration and anti taxpayer. The Planet and the Gman are sources of information that can not be found anywhere else. The Gazette is the only print media that at least tries to give a balanced reading of events occurring in this city. That leaves most of us to get the bulk of our knowledge right here on the planet or on the Gman show. The Gman show Wednesday is a must see show as he talked about a meeting comprised of former DPW commissioner William Forestall whom the Gman had charlie smith hire for the city position. He was the commissioner a very long time. He and two other members were commissioned to put together a report as to how much cost would be associated with the reduction of phosphorous at the sewer plant. He stated the cost would be about 21 million dollars. The Gman stated on his Wednesday show that his analyses for cost associated with reduction of phosphorous was about 18 million. So you see two experts in this field have very close cost projections for this project. How did the project ever reach 74 million dollars?? This is a question for all of you to determine. Lastly no one on this board knew about the Gman’s 18 million dollar estimation and Mr Foretells 21 million dollar estimation. After all these two are the city’s experts on water treatment and sewer treatment and none of you are aware of their efforts on your behalf. Now its time for those who do nothing to help the taxpayer to throw stones at these two
who have had a gigantic positive affect on this city having saved the taxpayer 116 million dollars in the 80s and another 50 million in reduced water and sewer rates in the past ,34 years. This is who these gentlemen are. Now it is time for nut case shakes to throw his stones at these giants who could crush him like a bug on the side walk. Some people are so jealous of successful people that all they do is criticise and never grow up. Shakes is now about 7 years old mentally and it certainly shows. Grow up but case viccoward.
