TYER ADDS ANOTHER ‘STAIN’ TO HER FAILING LEGACY

BY DAN VALENTI

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY MARCH 7, 2018) — What is it about Tyler Street that draws the worst out of mayor Linda Tyer? Last year saw an alley covered by umbrellas and the infamous $6,000 trash cans. This year it looks like it will be …

… stained glass?

Yeah, it’s vibrant. It’s dynamic. It’s hip. It’s millennial chic. It “caccamo”s.

The latest brainstorm to leap half-baked from the underwhelming mayor’s overtaxed noggin is to incorporate a theme of stained glass on the Blighted Mile. THE PLANET suggests a row of upside-down umbrellas with its folding sections made out of stained glass. They can be used for the tons of garbage that the denizens and critters use to line the Tyler sidewalks and streets.

Stained glass. How about strained glass, since its more than a bite or bit of stretch to link that particular craft form with the defrocked church and outhouses lining the street’s north side? Nice to see that “Stained Glass” Tyer obviously thinks that adding powdered sugar to the veneer of crumbling Tyler Street is a more important problem that finding consolidation for the upcoming FY’19 budget, a spending disaster that will see — prediction! — the corrupt and ineffective Pittsfield School Department walk away with more than $110 million counting operating costs, transportation (busses), health insurance and other benefits, plus maintenance. Of course, as you know from reading THE PLANET, JIV-Behneke & Co. will hide between $40 and $50 million of that in the city side portion of the budget.

Think of how lovely Hess Forst will look when stained glass replaces the plywood, graffiti, and bullet holes. The former Dairy Queen can offered stained-glass Dilly bars. Zenner’s can give stained-glass chips to every druggie and wino. Losing Lottery tickets can be collected and assembled into a collage resembling stained glass. Tyer can visit this spring for a photo op with a stained-glass IUD. Kufflinks can wear a bow tie with a stained-glass motif.

Oh, and the mayor wants to get the artists involved in all important decision making. For example, she’ll ask the resident feminist-butch-dyke man hater who’s Piss Christs are supported by city taxpayers for input on “How to Sellabrate Diversity” on Indigenous People’s Day … and other such vital organs.

Stained glass.

We kid you not.

Think of that come budget time.

Both women–Dina Guiel and Helen Moon came out of nowhere.
Neither of them ever came to City Council Meetings before election. None of them ever filed any Petition asking anything.
They both appeared on Political stage only after John Krol asked them to run for City Councilors to secure Linda Tyer’s majority.
Both of them bring absolute Nothing into City’s progress since, none of them has business/corporate experience.
They both simply Dem/Liberal/Progressive activist supporting Linda Tyer’s/John Krol/Pete Marchette camp.

The lovely Linda Tyer is to blame for all of Pittsfield problems! Prior to her becoming the Mayor of Pittsfield politics, the city had abundant living wage jobs, a growing tax base, a healthy population of taxpaying residents and small business owners, first-rate public schools, low per capita welfare caseloads, low crime rates, and a bustling revitalized downtown full of cultural venues.

Then came the lovely Linda! Over the past 26-months, everything went wrong in Pittsfield! All of the living wage jobs left at once, the tax base shrunk, thousands of people moved out of town, the public school system failed, poverty and welfare caseloads grew, crime also grew, and downtown Pittsfield became a dangerous place most people avoid if the can.

To be concise: Before Linda = Utopian Pittsfield; After Linda = Dystopian Pittsfield.

It is all her fault!

OK. Let me write positive things then:
Linda Tyer is the best Mayor in raising city’s taxes,
raising water and sewer rates,
overspending tax-payers money,
raising City’s budget to the sky limits,
appointing her friends and supporters to all Committees,
ignoring common sense, abandoning road repairs,
not plowing snow on City’s bridges, ignoring residents opinion not to have new garbage toters, ignoring new lower Fed regulations on Water and Sewer projects. She is the best among arrogant Dem/Liberal lunies.

First project should be focused on clearing the Hess Forest – the West anchor of Tyler and both sides of PEDA – the East. Get rid of the obscene graffiti and restore those sites to at least visually neutral.I generally find that redesigning works not with addition of mish-mash ungoverned by policy or focus but through organization and simplification. I would think that tax clerk and an accountant would lean towards a strategic approach.

I think they should move the airport to Tyler street. Then all the kids could watch the planes come and go. And yes of course move the Hess complex to the PEDA site where it could prosper and grow and perhaps become both a tourist attraction and an economic engine. Now that that pesky Walmart project has gone by the wayside we can up our expectations skyward.

No wonder the Wizard wanted the consultant fired along with the former Commisioner, and now Turocy. But the biggest problem was the Seven that wanted to go forward with the financing of the project.l

Gaetani and Planet have stated, here and the News Hour, no real questions and NO knowledge of the effect on the tax rate for the water-sewer? What is that? These seven are now going to approve anything Tyer puts forward.

Evidently, there will be no questioning or transparency. They are now in line with the School Committee philosophy, an example, approve the nine million to the consultant for using the existing City Drawings was preposterous. The City should get their money refunded.

Raises for anyone employed by a city should be based on the financial well being of the city and the general wealth of the taxpayers. If Pittsfield’s teachers feel that they are underpaid they should seek employment elsewhere. Lenox had an ad in the Eagle today looking for teachers.

Did anyone see the video of Meryl Streep at an awards show several years ago gushing over Harvey Weinstein. First, she calls him God and then laughing so hard she can barely speak she calls him the “punisher” which, now that we know his history with women, is very chilling.

Hollywood has now supposedly seen the light and is all grown up now and sorry for their previous bad behavior toward women. Look how Hollywood and the liberal media treated Sara Palin. It was truly disgusting. They can look down their noses at Donald Trump because they consider themselves so superior now.

Same with the gun issue, Hollywood (all Progressives) is armed to the teeth to protect themselves. Did anyone see all the security at the Oscars? Not to mention having their own private security guards to protect themselves and their property, but they have no problem with supporting a push by many on the left to eat away at the 2nd Amendment. Only “special” people should be able to protect themselves?

The Mayor was on a more important venture, a Cooking Show. I think she missed her calling, she was slicing and dicing, she look fabulous, the woman she was with was a true professional, I’ve seen her Show before and like her very much, her show is about cooking and she’s good at it.

The Lovely Linda has nothing to worry about,Kufflinks has everything under control, if her cooking career doesn’t pan out, Kufflinks can lighten the load by continuing to do th heavy work.

On the next episode of money grabbing,Jiv, (who by the way always comes back for more and it still won’t be enough) the Chef will pander to his every whim, having flashbacks of being a former pool secretary and give in again. Therapeutics in schools is the new investment, probably will be another form of some sort of subsidy by the taxpayers, where do they come up with these programs,it’s all babysitting to me.

So, although we have a Champion here in Mr. Valenti, try to relate one’s passion by commenting, whether it be stained glass umbrellas,,garbage cans, boilers for private held companies, tifs for millionaires, and even pay increases for city employees and easy health insurance for everyone, incompetent department heads overseeing 70 million dollar projects at a time, or advocating for the people’smega art to be sold for for millions because of more bad management.

This current giveaway for a new Water Plant isn’t going to fly either, this Gaetani has this overblown project’s sight right in his eyes.

Here’s what’s sticking in my craw today…So this big press conference is being held Friday at City Hall with Governor Baker (election year) Congressman Neal (still trying to appease criticism of ignoring the Berkshires) and Mayor ( stranger to city hall employees) Tyer all getting together to pat themselves on the back and tout how wonderful they all are that construction will begin on the Berkshire Innovation Center. This project has been a total farce so far, taking 5 years for a shovel to hit the ground after 9 million dollars was already in hand. The whole project is an historic example of how if you want something done, keep the government out of it. And yet Friday we will hear how this a great example of how the government can work for the people and provide economic development for the future, when all it has really shown is epic incompetence. When the Government liars are saying “What a great day for Pittsfield!” It’s beleaguered taxpayers are saying “Too little, too late!”
