SAVE THE DATE: D.A. HARRINGTON’S FUNDRAISER WANTS YOU — AND YOUR $1,000 CONTRIBUTION … or … AND YOU DIDN’T THINK SHE WAS A ‘POLITICIAN?’

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION APRIL 19-21, 2019) — “Save the Date.”

Thus Berkshire County D.A. Andrea Harrington demands in the imperative mode in a mass mailing to her enthralled legions of zealous supporters. Dey be hypmotized.

Andrea Harrington. H-a-r-r-i … you know, the new D.A., elected in a “landslide” in which hardly anyone voted. “The Accidental D.A.” Yeah, that one: “Hang ’em High” Harrington (but only if they’re white and male).

To what date does she refer?

May 8, or, as she would prefer, Otto de Mayo. That’s Spanish, for all you minority Caucasians.

On that date, Harrington holds a fundraiser at Methuselah’s, the upscale bar and grill known for underage drinkers, sidewalk shootings, and “favored nation” status with The Suits and Skirts. It’s The Skirts who now enjoy a pantyhold on local politics, which mean in this election season that if you’re not female, Latino or Latina, black, homosexual or Lesbian, transgendered, or one of the other in the LGBTQAIU alphabet, don’t bother. You’re considered not worthy.

Many, including several on THE PLANET, have asked why a district attorney barely three months into her term would need a fundraiser. The best answer came from Charlie, who, in a comment at this address, said because Harrington is a politician. So true. Not that anyone needed more proof, but her fundraiser, with “suggested donations” going for up to $1,000 a head, seals the deal. THE PLANET wonders how many of the unwashed and downtrodden for which this “progressive” D.A. claims to weep will be able to attend at those prices?

———- ooo ———-

Recently, iBerkshires ran a typographical sleeping pill in which overworked, underpaid Andy McKeever gushed at Wagnerian length on the wonders Harrington has achieved in 100 days. It had more padding than Kim Kardashian’s rear end. Reading between the photons of the endless piece, we learn that Harrington’s “diverse and inclusive” policies have ushered Shangri-La, Nirvana, Heaven, and The Gated Community on Outer West Street. The rising crime, violence, drug trafficking, and general craziness you see everyday? Nothing to see there, folks. Now run along.

AH loves fundraisers, as all politicians do. She also loves to spend taxpayers’ money, also a sign of her “diverse and inclusive” bona fides. In her pogrom banishing nearly every vestige of her predecessors’ terms, she hired 12 new assistant district attorneys, created five new positions, and wants to add three more. A closer look proves instructive.

The five new positions:

  • Director of New Initiatives = An office as vague as its name, given to Helen Moon as patronage for fronting AH’s election bid. Behind the scenes, Harrington relied on white males. For the cameras, Moon’s gender and ethnicity proved irresistable.
  • Director of Operations = Another hack position created for a loyalist, in this case, Dina Guiel. Keep in mind the “extensive” criminal justice experience of these two fine ladies.
  • Director of Victim Services = Only question is who, besides the taxpayer, is the victim?
  • Director of Communications = Dennis Yusko. THE PLANET doesn’t know him, but he passed Harrington’s litmus test. Nuff ced.
  • Some other position = Who cares?

This isn’t enough for Harrington. She wants to add:

  • Spanish-speaking Victim Advocate.
  • Juvenile Diversion Case Manager.
  • Director of Community Outreach.
  •  Either Curley, Shemp, Joe Besser, or Joe DeRita as the third stooge. Our money’s on Curley.

The self-righteous Harrington says she has done a great job “bring[ing] the community together to work for solutions” because “it felt like a bold thing to do.” She’s proud of the newly created 16-member Domestic Violence Task Force, which includes Harrington, Adam Hinds, Tyer, North Adams mayor Tom Bernard, Helen Moon, a couple North Adams city councilors, and Jerry Mathers as the Beaver. Look for domestic violence to rise.

She’s also installed a new job-performance evaluation system for the pitiable assistant district attorneys. They will be rated on their adherence to “21st century prosecution” practices.

Uh oh.

Wouldn’t you love to be one of the nagged ADAs, with Lady Madonna snipping at your mittens? Harrington stole this dumb idea from a group called Fair and Just Prosecutions. Fair and Just wants prosecutions not on the basis of law but on the “moral and ethical obligations” of prosecutors. It seeks to address racial imbalance with “progressive, diverse prosecution.”

Do we have to draw you a map?

Remember the Alamo, and remember to Save the Date.

May 8.

Methuselah’s, located on “safe, diverse, vibrant, dynamic, hip” North Street, Pittsfield. Bring your Benjamins. Ten, to be exact.

Have a great weekend, everybody.

——————————————————————————————————————————

Self-righteousness feels good for the moment, but only in the way that peeing your pants feels warm for a moment” — Nadia Bolz-Weber.

“OPEN THE WINDOW, AUNT MILLIE.”

LOVE TO ALL.

What side of the 2 faction divide does Berkshire County District Attorney fall on? Is it the Del Gallo, Doyle, Jimmy Ruberto, and lovely Linda Tyer side? Or, is it the Wojtkowski, Sara Hathaway, and Dan Bianchi side?
If A.H. is on the lovely Linda side, then her pricey fundraiser will help the current Mayor of Pittsfield with her re-election bid this year of 2019.
I believe the lovely Linda Tyer is the best Mayor of Pittsfield EVER! I think it is only fair to give A.H. some more time to prove her worth as the Berkshires’ top prosecutor.

Sir, everyone knows Tyer publicly supports her, despite Tyer campaigning to get tough on criminals. Nuff said. Now you know too. The question is, can The Bianchi, Bowler, etc machine find a viable candidate? Same goes for challenge to Tyer, who by the way does a very lovely job spending my money.

Bowler, Bianchi, and Mazzeo are antiqued relics.

The “Andrew” Harrington machine rolls on to Cheshire Road.

Four-years for lying to State Police; three to five for child rape, sexual assault, and witness intimation?

Then “Andrew” eliminates cash bail to go sliding along the spectrum straight to dangerousness hearings. So now if run from po-po, drop drugs along your escape route, resist arrest – you risk being held w/o bail until such a hearing is convened.

The only clear & present danger to society, these days, is “Andrew” Harrington.

And that’s the bottom-line!!

Yes Dan, speaking of gated communities on outer West Street, my own gumshoes, spies, and secret squadrons report that your college is “collaborating” with the DAs office on “programs” and “initiatives” as part of Harrington’s get out of jail free packages. Sounds like a great opportunity for you to reach out to Ms. Moon and do some trauma informed intersectional programmatic human development with a focus on learning to read and write English. Have you been invited to that table?

Did I just read that the city (read taxpayers) is putting up $150,000 to RENOVATE the bathrooms at Clapp Park?

First of all is their a sane reason this money should not be immediately diverted to road repair assuming such a slush fund truly exists?

And secondly, I don’t think Steve Wynn would need to pay this much to renovate the bathrooms in his hotel in Las Vegas. Could we please see a line item breakdown and definitely the name of the lucky connected contractor the mayor has lined up for this juicy contract?

Is this money figured before a bidding process? IS there a bidding process? Does it include its own dedicated sewer line to the treatment plant?

They’ll be having sex in there, drinking, drugging, etc. You can get a couple porta potties, put them in there seasonally, and the port a potty company will clean them, and their to small to hang out in. You can probably “save” tons of money this way. This city’s nuts.

The far left knew very well what they were doing. They knew Donald Trump was innocent of all these charges of being a traitor and they wanted to back him into a corner. He was frustrated and angry. Who wouldn’t be? This was all part of the “insurance policy” in case Donald Trump was elected. Their back-up plan in case Hillary didn’t win the election. Bottom line is that NOTHING happened…collusion or obstruction. You and MSNBC and CNN and others on the far left need to move one.

Their attempt to goad him into lashing out in anger and frustration didn’t work, to make him squirm, didn’t work the way they wanted so they are back to character assassination. These people are pathetic!!! It’s horrible what they have done to President Trump. I agree. This should never be allowed to happen to anyone again. The origins of this investigation has to be investigated.

It does seem like our news is just an echo chamber of beliefs, and not really news. I can’t sit through Hannity or Rachel Maddow.
I think the dossier was pretty horrible as a basis for the FISA – did I understand that cause/evidence needed for a FISA warrant is less than what is needed to indict. That is nutty. Trump seems like a lying liar escaped from more harm by people who refused to follow his orders. Maybe the constant stream of folks resigning from the White House should be thanked for preserving democracy.,

President Trump NEVER told any lies to Mueller’s team and promptly gave them any information they requested. They are the law. He did lie to the in bed with the Dems media, and who can blame him?!? He knew the media was out to get him. No crime to lie to the media. People do it all the time since they KNOW the media just tries to sensationalize everything ESPECIALLY this corrupt LIBERAL media.

It even mentions President Trump’s emotional state in the Mueller reports saying he felt frustrated and certain of not being able to fulfill his agenda. The lying liberal media is already taking things out of context by making it sound like President Trump was worried about being caught doing something illegal when, in fact, he was bemoaning the fact that these investigations typically hobble a president’s ability to govern which, of course, was part of the far left agenda all along.

Unbelievable. She has farmed out all the work while she is more like a director of the District Attorney’s office. This makes sense since she has so little experience for this job in the first place. This way she can be more like a PR person for the job and has all this time to attend public gatherings, ribbon cuttings, etc. Like so many in local politics, this job is just a stepping stone for further political ambitions hence the very expensive fund raising event in extremely poor Pittsfield.

I think Pat said it best above, AH is not the district attorney, she’s the “director” or the front for the office. All the actual work of prosecuting is being farmed out so to speak.

And does anyone wonder why crime is out of control in the Pitts? Will get worse under this approach which ignores the law in favor of a prosecutors “ethics”. That means selective prosecution.

B. Clairmont

The only cases D.A. Dave prosecuted in the last decade were the triple homicides. It is not the D.A.s job to handle the prosecutions. It is their job to set the policy and make sure things are running correctly according to the policies that are put in place.

That is what D.A. Dave did and that is what A.H. is doing. It’s just that the policies are different.

Maybe this holiday weekend Mr. & Mrs. Vibrant Mayor should take a ride around Pittsfield. They could enjoy the carnival ride dodging pot holes, this is just the main drags it gets even scarier on the side streets! Maybe the Easter Bunny will bring Turocy some more side walk chalk for the road lines. Years ago nicely painted sheep decorated Pittsfield, now we have beat up orange DPW barrels and cones. They could stop and visit some of the parks and instead of gathering Easter eggs they could gather used needles. They can ride around the Allendale area and see the drug zombies from the Meth Clinic and pot shops wandering around in the middle of street and then finish their tour by counting the PPD cars parked out in front of the station. Happy Easter!

Capeless and Caccaviello oversaw one of the most corrupt district attorneys offices in the United States, using the office to protect their campaign contributors. Harrington has federal agents all over her office, investigating previous administrations wrongdoing. Much of the domestic violence in the Berkshires is a direct result Berkshire Probate behavior very similar to what Avant Edinfield covered up in the Alabama hunting club extortion &racketeering Scandal

When TFB approached Judith Knight about leaving the DA race she told JK that AH just wanted to be the face of the office. What a disgrace. Mr. Clairmont’s comment is disingenuous. The vast difference between AH and DA Capeless or DA Cacc. is the Grand Canyon size gap in experience. Fact is: Capeless and Cacc. know how to try a case and know what is needed to run that office. AH only knows her lessons from Political Boot Camp. I have been told by a reliable source that AH has run out of money – overpaying her political hires: Moon and Guiel, to name two. When she sought more funds, she was shut down. Her progressive supporters should be wondering why her office is now routinely recommending sentences above the guidelines upon conviction in Superior Court. Or why her office is seeking more dangerousness hearings – where someone is held without the right to bail for 120 days prior to trial. How’s that for a progressive stance? Fact is: AH is a fraud. What responsible DA , who after stating the forensics were not completed in the disastrous Sheffield fire would then go on to say that it is a domestic violence situation perpetrated by the husband. NO responsible DA would ever make that comment without the official forensic results. Only a political hack would try to score points in such a manner. The Eagle doesn’t report – it just regurgitates AH’s drivel from her so-called press conference (just be advised she cannot answer a single question) or press releases.
The abject politicalization of that office erodes justice.

He probably is tossing and turning at night wondering how it all went south so quickly. I actually feel sorry for him and especially all the people Harrington canned. At least capeless has a great pension. But I bet he’s gettin less sleep now than when he actually was overseeing a triple homicide. And let’s face it, Harrington couldn’t prosecute a triple bicycle theft!

Ironically, Joe, it is Capeless who is handling the appeal on the triple homicide, as a volunteer. Canen, you might mosey over to district court and see how her office’s “new” approach to handling domestic violence is going. She’s doing nothing. Meanwhile the people’s lawyers that she fired are on the other side of the isle defending the accused. She is a disgrace and Bouvier perpetrated it. Vote ’em out.

DA’s handle all court prosecutions (aka case management).

With the exception of your puppet DA, “Andrew” Harrington, everyone of her predecessors prosecuted criminal cases from the District Court level to the appellant – SJC level.

She’s the only one w/ o prosecutorial experience; she’s the only one who never tried a case in Superior Court; and she’s the only one who didn’t know that certain felonies were tried at the District Court level.

“Andrew””s a disgrace; and you’re slightly delusional to suggest she’s the best there is . . .

And that’s the bottom-line!!

Pittsfield is Detroit without the good jobs. We have the burned out abandoned buildings, the crime, the crummy schools. When you look at our politicians it feels like Mississippi. They are very good at fattening their personal coffers while doing nada.

The best Trump line about upstate NY (a economic disaster but with govt jobs and better schools) – just abandon your houses and move to a better place — that is true for Pittsfield. Put your house on the market, take the best you can quickly get and move to Texas or North Carolina where you can get a decent job. Or to Boston. You can rent in Boston for the same as Pittsfield – seriously. The DA should investigate the landlord system here – oh wait sorry …

A.H will sink the ship. Save your money because whatever she runs for next she will lose. I think the public, everyone really, apart from a few select politicians find her an embarrassment.

A huge takeaway from the Mueller Report is that President Obama spectacularly failed this country by not calling out and doing anything about Russia attempts to control our elections which happened on his watch. I heard so many lies from the media today that President Trump knew about Russian collusion attempts and did nothing about it. It was Obama who was president when this was attempted. We still remember that meeting with a Russian official that Obama thought was not on microphone when he said “I will have more flexibility after the election”. More flexibility for what? This is highly suspicious and if said by President Trump would have been called treasonous.

Yuki is getting the benefit, a questionable establishment to begin with. Is this Krols vacation money send off? I’m calling my people mmorrow to let them know I will be running for City Council,I’ve had it.

It’s called a spring fundraiser. Of course there’s no law against campaign fundraisers, and she can even take the money she raises and transfer it to another campaign I believe. Let’s hope she has her eye on some other office because the DAs job is too important to be left to the likes of her.

It’s time that’s for sure. Time for the REAL truth to come out about the massive behind the scenes attempt to take down a sitting president. The truth will set you free, although I wouldn’t call you a far left mite (name calling is bad) I believe the far left would deny the truth if it was crystal clear.

Sad to see all this Trump negativity. Donald Trump would die on the cross right next to Jesus for you fools. He is that nice of a guy. Matter of fact his whole family would probably line up with him.
In fact the religious right is now saying that they believe Trump was sent here by God to save the world and Donald is not denying it so it must be true. MAGA

A District Attorney is a lawyer who prosecutes criminal cases against people charged with crimes. The crimes can range from the most serious crimes like murder to less serious charges like vandalism. District Attorneys work for county governments and represent the government in criminal prosecutions.
Maybe your present wife gave you orders to release that loony left description of the District Attorneys job. Your description really fits somebody who is unqualified to do the real job.
Being a money guy can you honestly say that the hiring of Moon,Guiel, and whoever else has been hired with no experience in the Criminal Justice field is financially prudent. Let alone ethical. Your a fraud Barry. You should stick to accounting and less of pushing the Lefty agenda.

Louis,
This is a forum where, among other things, grownups hold their elected officials accountable. The DA has the power to take away freedom as well as to pursue justice and promote public safety. For example, DA Harrington claims she is going to reopen unindicted sexual assault cases from the past 15 years. That is important, wouldn’t you agree? As Dan says, asking for large sums of money from the public when things have either continued as before or have changed for the worse is wrong. This is something you’ll be able to demand and be outraged about when you are an adult.

Charles,
If Harrington is as hated and as terrible as you seem to think, then her fundraiser will be a complete failure. No matter what, you are under no obligation to give so I am not sure what you are complaining about. As for your other points, you are correct that DA’s have the power to take way freedom. Too bad you had no such concerns while Bernard Baran was alive. And what freedoms do you propose Harrington is taking away? Also it is my understanding that Harrington is going to “review” unindicted sexual assault cases that are within the 15 year statute of limitations. That is very different from “reopening” them, as I’m sure you know. And why would you or anyone else object to reviewing such cases? Let’s say Harrington reviews a case and finds that it was thoroughly and properly investigated and the conclusion of no crime having occurred was appropriate. Do you think she’s going to falsify her findings and try to reopen the case anyway, for some nefarious reason? L.

Ms Harrington had lt Edward culver of the Massachusetts state police assigned to her office, call myself and threaten me for asking her to look at information in my own unprosecuted case.
She is naïve or corrupt and believing those loyal to Capeless & Caccaviello will police their own previous wrongdoing.
It’s almost as Ludacris as Dalton police chief Jeff Coe doing an internal investigation on him self, which resulted in no wrongdoing found.
Yes it’s true and Dana parsons said it was perfectly ok.
Look at cliff Nilan covering up for Angelo strucuzi, it’s an epidemic.

Pat The Mueller investigation cleared the Trump campaign of conspiracy with Russia to influence voting in the election. It was a Very strict standard. On the other hand Mueller investigation found 12 different occasions where Trump was trying to stop the investigation. We also know that on many occasions his staff saved his ass a number of times by not going forward with his directives to break the law.Trump would have fired everyone but people just did not do what he wanted. He wanted to obstruct the investigation more often than those sited. He is now a wounded President and he will resign.Everything we learned is that hes above the law in his mind. You don’t see this and you never will. This is the 1980s sleezebag .Nothing new to me.

Sorry, School Committee, but this devious plan by Hillary and her enablers will not work. Trump was being investigated for collusion. Obstruction was tacked on as another little “insurance policy”, but it’s NOT what this investigation was about. He was found innocent of collusion. The whole investigation into Trump has been a scan to try and drive him crazy by calling him a traitor 24/7 for 3 years and then going after him for his very human reaction to the nonsense. Reactions, by the way, which did nothing to stop the investigation.

The Russian attempts at interfering in our elections was during the Obama administration. Was nothing done about it so they would have another insurance policy to try to invalidate the next president if Hillary wasn’t elected? The liberal media now reporting that President Trump isn’t a legit president because of the Russian interference. Hello. It was attempted interference NOT real interference. They know it and are just playing to the stupid people in the general public.

Pat
Pat

The true Russian collusion was between Russia and Hillary. This was her revenge against Donald Trump and it even involved the Obama administration. This was the “insurance policy” as told by Struczk and Page in their now infamous conversations. They knew there was “no there there” but they needed to stop President Trump from winning the election or take revenge on him if he did win. Hillary has many high level friends in all areas of government (this is what happens when you are a political career hack) and they looked the other way at her crimes and assisted in trying to take down President Trump.

The collusion illusion has been exposed for what it is – Here are some important quotes from the Mueller report, for all you disappointed fake newsers who have been watching the Clinton News Network and the like, the past 3 years:

“this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime” .
” the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities”.

Look at all the resources that were poured into this:
“To carry out the investigation and prosecution of the matters assigned to him, the Special Counsel assembled a team that at its high point included 19 attorneys — five of whom joined the Office from private practice and 14 on detail or assigned from other Department of Justice components. These attorneys were assisted by a filter team of Department lawyers and FBI personnel who screened materials obtained via court process for privileged information before turning those materials over to investigators; a support staff of three paralegals on detail from the Department’s Antitrust Division; and an administrative staff of nine responsible for budget, finance, purchasing, human resources, records, facilities, security, information technology, and administrative support. The Special Counsel attorneys and support staff were co-located with and worked alongside approximately 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysts, forensic accountants, a paralegal, and professional staff assigned by the FBI to assist the Special Counsel’s investigation. Those “assigned” FBI employees remained under FBI supervision at all times; the matters on which they assisted were supervised by the Special Counsel. During its investigation the Office issued more than 2,800 subpoenas under the auspices of a grand jury sitting in the District of Columbia; executed nearly 500 search-and-seizure warrants; obtained more than 230 orders for communications records under 18 U.S.C. § 2703(d); obtained almost 50 orders authorizing use of pen registers; made 13 requests to foreign governments pursuant to Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties; and interviewed approximately 500 witnesses, including almost 80 before a grand jury.”

The deep state had it out for Trump and although Trump is a liar, and an idiot, etc, he is the duly elected president, and people knew that beforethey voted for him. All Americans should be glad he came out clean.

Wonder what Dan could do with these kinds of resources if he was a special counsel charged with invesitgating Pittsfield corruption???

I’m asking that the Mayor not sweep the streets or paint lines in the road and burn out the police departments so that the City council become responsible for your inability to govern for the working poor,These people never struggled.A city of incompetence should have a mayor and council all share in their lack of knowledge of working poor people.Dont run for Mayor to be just like her run for Mayor to cut taxes, otherwise hop on board the spoiled spenders.Yon Taylor,Elias take note.

I read a recent op-ed column in the Northampton (Mass.) Daily Gazette (online) that Congressman Richard Neal’s request for President Donald Trump tax returns is hypocritical because Rep. Richie Neal won’t release his own tax returns to the public. Is it true?

Good question. President Trumps tax returns would probably fill a small room with the web all his different business entities. And he pretty much said, back in 2016 in the debates with Mrs. Clinton, that he pays zero in taxes and that it “made him smart”. Congressman Neal’s tax return should be straight forward. He is a Congressman and teaches a journalism class at UMASS. So I don’t see the big deal with both of them releasing their taxes.

DA Harrington is not qualified. Some of the best attorneys in Berkshire County forced out because they threatened her. Now we have ADAs once asked to leave because they could get the job done and now they are in the courts representing the office.

AH wants to do a fundraiser? Maybe she will use the money to go back to law school.

Who was in on the meeting that determined that the taxpayers need to donate $150,000 to renovate the Clapp park restrooms? Are there minutes to that meeting and are they available to the public? If the Eagle prints them along with who said what I will consider buying a subscription to their paper.

I do understand that if a deal is made in the backroom of a bar that minutes are not always taken so I will understand if no one can find them.

Bitch all you want about “Andrew” Harrington’s victory. In the next breath – go ahead and thank Mark Tully, Kathy Amuso, and few others who straddled the fence with Cacc’s write-in effort.

Adds new meaning to the adage: keep your friends close and your enemies closer!!

Recapping: All three were and are a tight as can be w/ Barry’s crew. Cacc trusted the wrong people and lost his job to a cabal of incompetent boobs.

Wondering where all those Williams College sexual assault prosecutions are? Exactly!!

And that’s the bottom-line.
