BEACON HILL LEADER IN THE HOTS … STOP US IF YOU’VE HEARD THIS ONE BEFORE

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY DEC. 6, 2018) — What passes for the leadership at the Statehouse finds itself in the boiling cauldron.

Stop THE PLANET if you’ve heard this one before.

We’ve lost count. How many House speakers on Beacon Hill had to leave their positions because of charges, indictments, and/or criminal convictions? Was it 16 or 17? 28? We forget, which isn’t germane to today’s discussion of the latest State Legislature “leader” to get into the deep muddy. This time, it’s on the Senate side.

Senate President Stan Rosenberg, the first openly gay lawmaker to ascend to head of the pack, is now just an ordinary senator, you know, like Adam “Come Out, Come Out Wherever You Are” Hinds,  who “represents” Berkshire County in The General Court. Cue Ball has as much pull as Pittsfield state “rep” Tricia FooFoo-BooBoo. In laymen’s terms, this implies that these two have been through the peculiar local political gauntlet, a multistep political process far beyond the capability of most anyone with a quark’s worth of self-respect. The Heirarchy of Needs for political aspirants who are not named John Barrett or Smitty Pignatelli looks like this:

(1) Kiss up, locally, to The Suits.

(2) Get “elected” in “contests” void of competition and rife with apathy among the electorate.

(3) Meet with the inner circle of The Berkshire Brigade.

(4) Receive orders Boston has given to the local Democrat Committee.

(5) Go to Boston.

(6) Submit to their respective wedgies.

(7) Head like a beaten dog to the back bench.

(8) Deliver to the President and Speaker the votes ordered by the Mob.

(9) Collect $100,ooo plus in salary, perks, per diems, and benefits.

Ah, but we digress.

Rosenberg’s husband, one Byron Hefner (thank Bog there are not two), has been accused by four men of sexual harassment. Are others in the works? THE PLANET doesn’t know, but it does seem that the conga line forms when charges of this ilk be-dog public figures, celebrities, and the powerful.

Byron Hefner. Reminds us of Lord George Byron and Hugh Hefner, two men who, shall we say, “dabbled” — which, of course, implies nothing at all to the case at hand. According to press reports, Hefner allegedly groped the genitals of three of the men (two of them more than once, according to their testimony) and forced his unwanted attention on the fourth. Rosenberg’s many allies ask what this has to do with the deposed senate president.

Let’s offer a few reasonable guesses.

First, according the Boston Globe, “three of the alleged incidents took place when Rosenberg was just feet away.” Question: How’s Rosenberg’s eyesight, hearing, and sense of smell?

Second, Hefner’s accusers have said he bragged about his pull with his hubby and his influence over him in legislative matters. From The Globe: “One alleged victim — a policy advocate who said Hefner assaulted him in 2015 — said he understood that Hefner was offering to help smooth his path in the Senate in return for sex.”

Third, Instead of rallying around their leader, Senate Democrats held a panicked, closed door, eight-hour caucus Monday to figure out what to do. They posted guards outside the caucus room to prevent any press from entering. Nothing like a little sunshine for a disinfectant, eh? Let’s face it: There aren’t a lot of good plays when you face fourth and 97 from your own one.

Fourth, Democrats emerged from the meeting to announce ascendancy of Hennriette Chandler of Worcester as acting senate president. Beacon Hill insiders say Chandler, by wild coincidence, is one of Rosenberg’s top allies. That won’t affect Democrat-controlled Ethics Committee from  an impartial investigation.

Moreover, having one of Rosenberg’s top allies controlling the show will not in any way whatsoever prevent other alleged victims from speaking to Senate-hired investigators out of fear of retribution or political payback. How do we know this? Chandler herself told us so. The Ethics Committee reiterated this pledge. Even as Rosenberg tries to sort all this out, several senators are scrambling behind the scenes for the Presidency. Why not? It comes with an $80,000 bonus on top of the nearly $63,000 annual pay, the per diems, and the $20,000 for office expenses.

That’s how state and local politics works in the Commonwealth, isn’t it? On the up-and-up, above board, on Scout’s honor.

What about Donald Trump? Why does Dan Valenti pick on openly gay state and local politicians like Peter Marchetti and Stan Rosenberg, but he doesn’t mention all of the inappropriate sex scandals surrounding the sitting U.S. President?

Donald Trump said he puts breath mints in his mouth and then he forcibly kisses women and then grabs women by their “meow”!

Donald Trump as 15 to 20 women accusing him of sexual misconduct. He denies all the accusations against him. Clearly, Donald Trump is a sexual deviant with unhealthy issues towards women. He should get mental health treatment for his inappropriate sexual behavior towards women!

Donald Trump openly cheated on his first 2 wives! He has 5 children from 3 mothers. His daughter Tiffany was a child born out of wedlock.

Personally, I admire Dan Valenti’s history of public participation in Pittsfield politics because he cares about our native hometown. That said, Dan Valenti’s double standard of attacking openly homosexual men in politics while supporting Donald Trump leaves me to conclude the following Orwell phrase from “Animal Farm”:

“All animals (or politicians) are equal, but some animals (or politicians) are more equal than others.”

It isn’t Dan going after openly gay people, it’s their accusers. Dan is reporting what is happening.

If you go after people who were married more than once or have had children out of wedlock, nearly the entire country is guilty. Hollywood alone is a cesspool of endless marriages and children born out of wedlock.

Don’t worry, phase 2 of the radical Progressives plan to impeach Trump will be to create scandals involving the president. The Russian witch hunt is only the first part of their nefarious plot to get rid of Trump.

The double standard that you mention Jonathan applies to the way the conduct of Hillary Clinton was treated by those at the top at the FBI and various cronies of Obama and Clilnton. America has become a banana republic when the crimes of the favored political party are swept under the rug while the Republicans are set upon by attack dogs. That isn’t real justice.

Thanks for covering this story, Dan.
Rosenberg, along with House leader DeLeo, are the guys responsible for their huge salary increases, Rep & Senator increases, and also increases for state judges. Of course, there was no money in the budget for a tax-free holiday for taxpayers!
And now, Stan’s husband Pee Wee the Pervert, who is allegedly being treated for alcohol abuse (guess who’s footing that bill?) – also stands to collect a $50,000 annual pension (at the minimum) when Stan kicks off. How many more men will come forward with stories of having their jewels squeezed by this perv? Again, your tax dollars at work!
Judge Bibaud, father of Ali Bibaud who is at the center of the state police scandal, also benefited from Stan’s raises for judges.
Not to mention that 6,000 drug cases were thrown out by the state due to the Amherst state chemist’s tampering/ingesting of the evidence.
The state swamp needs to be drained!
When will the Clinton Crime family be brought to justice? Is Bill still hanging out with known perv Jeff Epstein on his “Lolita Express” and ravishing under-age girls?
When will the Pittsfield Perv Network be exposed?
Drain the swamps!!

Trump did not assault women. Al Franken accused of assaulting women and he is still in office. Bill Clinton finished out his term even though he was accused of assaulting women. He was impeached for lying. Hillary supporters were ready to put Bill back in the white house to co-president with Hillary. Anyone seeing the hypocrisy here?

To your point, I quote Ted Rall:

“A president who is an evil, dimwitted, under qualified megalomaniac is a danger to democracy.

So is a lazy, cheap, cut-and-paste class of journalists who don’t bother to thoroughly investigate stories.”

Likely the story alleging the assault and the story refuting the assault were equally divergent from any semblance of responsible reporting standards.

Stan Rosenberg’s “ethics” episode concerning his young husband’s alleged sexual misconduct relating to State Senate influence is, indeed, a political matter. I have read many editorial essays stating there will be no retribution against the alleged victims who complain to investigators. I totally disagree!

Politics is only about power (and money). Whenever I complained or spoke out about politics over the years, someone always retaliated against me. Politicians want two things: Power and Money! If someone stands in their way, then watch out! You will lose your job. You will be subject to vicious rumors. You will be blacklisted. You may even have to move out of town.

Massachusetts does not have a real democracy! A great majority of state and local politicians are incumbents. Stan Rosenberg has been a Beacon Hill political hack for over 3 decades. When there is an “election”, it is non-competitive. Political hacks like “Smitty” Pignatelli have decades long job security as long as they follow orders like bureaucrats.

Stan Rosenberg is facing an “ethics” investigation. If it is really about justice, then I expect there will be retaliations and retributions against those who fight the good fight. However, I predict it will be a “show trial” where Stan Rosenberg will come out smelling like a rose! What a joke!

Thomas More made comments previously that Howie Carr was thrown off the air because the station can’t make money from sponsors off of him. Sounds more like if you don’t agree with somebody, shut them down. Sounds more like free speech being shut down.

I’ve heard Trump supporters called all sorts of names like Trumpsters and the like and I guess that’s OK with people here in Berkshire County because they don’t like Trump. Doesn’t sound very open minded to me. Thomas More says people need to respect others that think differently from them, but isn’t that a something that BOTH sides need to do….Democrats and Republicans.

First, we withdraw payments to the City of Pittsfield, and direct instead to a Council of legitimate representation. The City Council and Mayor will dissolve into irrelevancy, and the People will effectively run the city. Other cities will follow suit. In time, this pin-drop with grow to a wave which will spread to Bacon Hill, and they will have to print their own money, Bacon Script, to stay afloat.

Join me for the First ever Toter Party at PEDA. Time and Date to be announced by the City Council. Bring some rum too, it’s a period thing.

Fat Teddy? Did you mean Fat Freddy? We know it’s his cat that pulled the strings.

I know people that recycle and have a minimum 100 plus gallon total each week, I’ll send Dan pics.. The idea that you have to pay for bags extra-overflow sounds like an added tax. If it’s big trash and recycling that is the problem, then enforce that. It’s not a money maker, it will cost the city for the Toters and it is not feasible. Start enforcing. Most Councilors have been told they do not want this.
