DEBATES, MEDIA, GUNPLAY, VIOLENCE, AND OTHER PITTSFIELD ONE-LINERS

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY AUG. 28, 2019) — Thirty-six years ago today, THE PLANET produced a pair of concerts at the Boys’ Club in Pittsfield starring “King of the One Liners” Henny Youngman. Not since then has Pittsfield been the site of so many yuks in so short a time. With too much to cover, let us get at it in bits and bites, like breakfast cereal.

MAYORAL DEBATE — As THE PLANET predicted, the panel stayed well away from the horrible state of the Pittsfield Public Schools, with no questions about faux-war criminals Supt. JIV and school board chair(wo)man Lady Boots. It also largely ignored violence. Instead, moderator Larry “The Muffler” Krackup led Linda Tyer, Melissa Mazzeo, Karen Kalinowsky, and Scott Graves on a sleepy tour of marijuana, natural disasters, tourism, and ageism. You know, the hot topics turning the city into the Titanic after the iceberg. Krackup’s first question paved the way: “Mmmph rumph pheugh rudda muffago whoodiju.” Winner: Nobody. Losers: Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski. Graves was a rusty anchor. Former cop Kalinowsky channeled the Mary Fydrich-Harpo Marx look, making clear why her police supervisors kept her off the street. Those two are toast. Tyer and Mazzeo played it safe, killing syllables but saying little. Is Mazzeo keeping her powder dry for a one-on-one showdown with the mayor? She seemed tame. And why did Tyer shout? Did advisers tell her to crank the volume? THE PLANET has prepped captains of industry, politicians, athletes, actors, and the like for high-stakes public presentations. We would not have advised shouting. Mazzeo and Tyer move on. The other two? Who cares.

MEDIA MOGULS — How bad is the local media? There was no radio coverage of the debate, the usual glitch disaster known as PCTV, and … Amanda Drane-cum-Jack Guerino. Drane wrote her story as if she were on Tyer’s communications team. Our insider at The Boring Broadsheet said The BB will be backing Tyer. Don’t tell. Fred wants to keep it a secret. You might not heave heard of Guerino. We didn’t know him from Rudolp Valentino, but he’s the lad iBerkshires sent to cover the smokeless Bar-B-Q. Andy McKeever? His years of sucking up finally paid off with a job as communications director for that fearless crime fighter and scourge of “white privilege,” our honored district attorney. Things are do desperate at iBerk that they sent Tammy Daniels to cover the Ward 6 debate. Speaking of which …

IF A 6 TURNED OUT TO BE 9 — Daniels identified Craig Gaetani as “Edward Gaetani.” Daniels’ anchor, too, might be a little rusty. Dina Guiel Lampisi, another of the D.A.’s patronage hires and The Suits’ hand-picked queen for the Satellite Six throne, loves the new Police Advisory Board. No mention about the shooting, stabbings, and weekend of mayhem and violence. Oh wait. They hadn’t happened yet. We also learned that Eddie Carmel (a) was not the giant who played the monster in The Brain That Would Not Die, and (c) he’s not allergic to peanuts. Gaetani won this hoedown, and not because his T-shirt made him the coolest candidate. He’ll now wait for the Special Interests to bury him when he matches the machine-backed Guiel, which is, by the way, an anagram for “Guile.” At the end of Daniels’ fairy tale, iBerk notified readers that “Comments are closed for this story.” Could it be embarrassment? Guerino’s coverage of the mayoral contest generated a grand total of one comment. As we’ve been saying, folks, the only free speech left in the area is THE PLANET.

HAPPINESS IS A WARM GUN. BANG BANG! SHOOT SHOOT! — If you look at the house at 343 Columbus Ave., you’ll see the siding riddled with bullet holes. Perhaps its Mayor Tyer’s latest initiative for homeowners: free air conditioning. The 3 a.m. shootings happened just after a violence fight at Cumby’s on First Avenue, which occurred not long after the “Tyjaye and Zyir Gun Show” on John Street. THE PLANET has since heard lots of rumors from the mean streets, suggesting the incidents are related, involving drugs and gangs with a trail that leads back to Springfield. Authorities assure you, though, that the “public safety” is not in danger. (INSERT CANNED LAUGHTER HERE … OR … RESTORATIVE JUSTICE).

“Dem streets is mean, mo-fo.”

If the Eagle backs the lovely Linda Tyer, it may backfire and help the lovely Melissa Mazzeo! The Eagle has no credibility anymore! Most people take it with a proverbial grain of salt.

Pittsfield politics should sell the city on its poverty, crime, drugs, poorly performing public schools system, corruption, a failed PEDA, and a dangerous downtown. At least it wouldn’t be false marketing!

Thursday August 23 two men are arrested by chance because a State Trooper was “in the area on an unrelated call”.
One is held on a dangerousness hearing. Davis is out RoR.
So they shot up the city in two locations, who were the targets? Clearly they missed, no bodies were found. Then in under 72 hours, a woman is shot and killed at 3am. No shooters found yet.
The information of her death was withheld, until Tuesday. Well after the debate. So two shootings, one with an unknown victim or victims, another with unknown assailants and a homicide (she was dead in the car when they found her 20 plus minutes after the fact)
Yet none of it is really part of the debate.

https://www.berkshireeagle.com/stories/woman-linked-to-death-of-asiyanna-jones-death-found-not-guilty-on-unrelated-gun-drug-charges,583214

A city woman facing drug trafficking and weapons charges was found not guilty Tuesday following a two-day bench trial in Berkshire Superior Court.

Judge John Agostini, who presided over the trial, said the defense attorney made an effective case that an uncharged person was responsible for the crimes attributed to the defendant, Carey Pilot.

Pilot, 47, was among a group of people in a Cadillac Escalade that sped off after being pulled over by Pittsfield Police on April 17, 2017.

During the brief pursuit, a handgun was apparently thrown from the passenger side before the vehicle stopped. The gun was later recovered.

Assistant Berkshire District Attorney Joseph Yorlano contended the evidence showed only Pilot was in a position to toss that gun in that manner.

A subsequent search of the car found about $8,200 worth of cocaine hidden inside a pair of sneakers that were inside a plastic shopping bag.

Pilot’s attorney, Lee Flournoy, noted there was evidence that a front-seat passenger fled the vehicle at some point.

A bystander testified that they saw a male in a white sweatshirt jump out of the car and run into the woods, and an off-duty Pittsfield Police officer told officers at the scene he saw a black male running from the area of the stop.

Grand jury testimony apparently corroborated the existence of the other passenger in the Escalade and identified him by name. Flournoy produced records from the Department of Corrections showing that person matched the given description — and also has size 13 feet, the same size as the sneakers in which the cocaine was found.

Agostini noted the information provided by the bystander and the off-duty officer was apparently not followed up on.

The police ignored evidence that there was a known felon, whom they knew very well, in that car and who fled.

Notice his name is left out of the news article and has been actually sealed (redacted) in the transcript of the grand jury testimony.

This woman is also the woman who allegedly shot Asiyanna Jones.
A crime that was framed, buy a number of people very close to the DA, as a “diss over a boy”. All the people she seemed to be involved with were drug dealers, her boyfriend is a convicted cocaine trafficker who somehow got a visitation release from jail for the day.

Thomas Newman (convicted murderer of Keenan)
Keenan Pellot (murdered son of Carey Pilot)
Chris Davis (convicted drug trafficker boyfriend of Asiyanna Jones)
Carey Pilot (going to trial for the shooting death of Asiyanna Jones)

Now consider that Carey Pilot was had cases against her for weapons and cocaine dating back to 2015 and the death of her son. How has this woman been allowed to be out on the streets? It’s almost like, until they could get direct testimony from Chris Davis, Carey Pilot had a special deal with police.

Carey Pilot has been a public nuisance all her life in Pittsfield.

This article doesn’t mention the fact that a co-conspirator in this Escalade case, a 43-year old man, died in January. His obituary does not list the cause of death.

Davis was released from jail for an permitted visit to the funeral home to say final goodbyes. The family was outraged and furious when they found out he was released and allowed to have a private final visit with the deceased without the family’s knowledge or permission.

Davis ratted out an accused killer of James Dominguez in order to get the visit. Charges against the accused man had to be dropped and Davis was charged with perjury after it was discovered he lied.

Pittsfield is small and backwards. It’s VERY SMALL. There are way less than six degrees of separation between families, friends, associates, criminals and law enforcement.

Carey Pilot started a gunfight with another girl over a guy. Jones died in the crossfire.

Phil,

You are correct about Carey Pilot. She has been into drugs, gangs, and the under belly of Pittsfield, for years.

If you remember even further, she helped Reggie Ellerbee escape, after Reggie shot a guy at Danny’s Bar, on 4th Street, back in 2005 or 2006. Ellerbee shot himself, in the leg or arm (don’t remember), and Pilot drove him out of town. She was arrested with him months later.

She’s a true POS,

What about an autopsy? When was the victim declared dead? How long has this been keep in the closet? And for crying out loud who is the victim????

But we should all rest easy in our overtaxed homes because Tyer is gonna restore law and order and Harrington will see that justice is served (as long as shooter/s ain’t “a person of color”)

Now iberkshires has shut down free speech? The Progressives have this area in complete free speech lock-down except for Planet Valenti.

Were they really going to ask any hard question about the schools? It took place in a school which tells you right there that it would be a very school friendly debate. There were very few difficult questions at all…none in fact, so they are just sweeping everything under the rug since everyone knows that since Mazzeo and Tyer are both far left Progressives, their policies will be very similar. If they are not, that would have been the time for Mazzeo to do some shouting of her own about how her policies are so much different.

Shakes,

I see you’ve taken a page out of Pocahontas Warren’s playbook. Disagree with you/her: call the other person a racist, or fill in the other ___ist title.

The fact is, the last few shootings in Pittsfield have been black on black violence. Until Denis Powell, BC NAACP, Mayor Tyer, or DA Harrington, start holding their own community accountable, nothing will change.

And Shakes, while your at it, explain why every time another black male shoots another black male in the Westside or Morningside area, why is it the disconnect of the police?

I know the easy answer by Tyer, Harrington, Restorative Justice, is to blame the police, in particular, white, male, police officers. But the facts are the facts. You have to hold communities accountable.

Black on black violence is out of control. Just in Chicago this past weekend: 6 killed, 23 others wounded in gun violence.

A black Pittsfield Police Officer I believe recruited by Mike Wynn, is probably the most violent officer. Eason after abusing an 88 year old women and another women recorded on video was put on paid administrative leave for 3 years and now has a handsome pension, as well as a settlement from our fair city. He falsified reports and those records are purged. He was protected by our corrupt police chief. Oh and by the way Wynn’s wife Christina was communication director or was she the campaign manager for Tyer? Eason abused many other people but he was so violent that the victims of his police abuse and violence were afraid to report the violence. I find it ironic that Wynn is polishing up his red high heels for the walk against domestic violence. Domestic violence palls compared to police violence when you call the cops for protection and you become the victim again.. I am speaking from personal experience. as a victim of both domestic violence and the abuse of Eason. I was afraid to speak up and even the Elizabeth Freeman Center didn’t know how to deal with this violence.of a violent police officer abusing a women that he was called to protect. Cover up.

Shakey has it on the money. The gratuitous Pocahontas label is used only with the intent to demean. There is indeed too much b-on-b violence and communities should indeed be held accountable but there isn’t any reason to spew unnecessary incendiary rhetoric.

Tues. BB reported a victim shot inside a vehicle. Victim was treated and transported to BMC.

Today’s BB is calling this a homicide.

Question: Did the victim die at BMC or as “PoliceReport” indicated was actually dead at the scene? If “PoliceReport” is accurate, then the first BB story was untrue. Will we ever know?

And as usual no names are ever released.

Talk about secrecy!

And I believe we will never be told the whole story about the Sheffield murders.

Do you see a lot of discarded gauze, gauze paper, blood on the ground? All evidence that a series of lifesaving measures took place? No

What you do see is at least 11 expended cartridge casings on the ground. A driver’s and passenger’s window shot out.
It was not shot spotter that notified the PPD when the shooting took place it was the 911 calls. It took a good while for the PPD to actually find the victim as she was shot in the head and over on her side in the car.
You can actually see the bullet holes in the siding of the house.

Anyone with an CBS prime time CSI degree could tell from the scene that it was a murder. That site had to be secured and scoured to obtain/preserve evidence.

The cops didn’t clear the street until 2:30 pm. Nearly 12 hours on site. It was obvious they weren’t investigating a simple shooting.

Remember Jahada Martin? The Wynn and the PPD had no idea why he was stabbed. Not withstanding all the participants has drug charges and Jahada had a conviction and had been arrested for selling crack, the day before his death.
Springfield, NY, Pittsfield.

https://www.berkshireeagle.com/stories/28-year-old-pleads-guilty-in-jahda-martin-stabbing,431927

In Berkshire Superior Court, Terrance W. Brown, 28, of Springfield pleaded guilty to manslaughter and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon to the March 6, 2010 stabbing and assault of Martin, 26, of Pittsfield.

Brown inflicted Martin’s fatal knife wound in the Burger King parking lot across from the former Club Groove on Wendell Avenue Extension in Pittsfield. Martin was leaving the club when he was attacked by several men who then fled in cars, according to the police report.

Brown, along with John C. “Jay” Spratling, 28, of Pittsfield and Allen McGraw, 31, of Kingston, N.Y., were scheduled to go to trial April 20 on charges of murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and witness intimidation.

As of Thursday, Spratling and McGraw were still scheduled for trial. They have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

A fourth man, Trevor L. “Jamaican Jay” Pryce of North Adams, is facing the same charges as the others, but is being tried separately at a later date as is a fifth defendant, Casey Ivery, of Pittsfield, who is charged as an accessory. They too have pleaded not guilty.

No motive has been given as to why the Martin was set upon.

Martin grew up in the Bronx, N. Y., and spent time at Berkshire Farm, a child welfare agency with a residential program, in Canaan, N.Y., before coming to the Berkshires.

Martin attended Lee High School where he was a standout basketball player.

He attended college where he continued to play basketball, but left before receiving a degree and eventually drifted into the drug trade, racking up a 2007 drug conviction and an arrest just days before he was killed.

Facebook knew the girl was dead by the morning.

Treated and transported is a very clever way of leaving out the fact that she died before being TREATED at BMC. They didn’t lie. They omitted.

The brother of the victim started a go fund me, so the identity is out there. Stephanie Olivieri. People I’ve talked to don’t seem to know her, except that she was young. So, yes her identity seems very unknown. It’s pretty sad.

The spin will be she was not the intended target, that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Which then begs the question, if she wasn’t the intended target, and the shooter was “unknown” how could the DA and the Mayor and Chief Wynn all proclaim that “the public was not in danger and this was an isolated incident”.

they can at they can make that claim AFTER the debate and not get called on it.
She was either a party to and a target of the shooting OR she was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire. Both of which show the public is STILL at risk because the shooter hasn’t been caught.

Almost all the shootings are related as there are two gangs controlling most of the drug traffic in Pittsfield. there are secondary skirmishes related to that trade.
Pittsfield is the AMWAY of drugs.

Stephanie Olivieri and Asiyanna Jones both innocent women shot over drug turf but “not the intended victim” per the DA Andrea Harrington, Chief Wynn, and Mayor Tyer.

The public is not at risk and these are isolated incidents.

The victim was taken to Berkshire Medical Center, officials said Sunday. Officials said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident.

The DA’s office said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident, and city and state police investigators do not have any ongoing safety concerns for the public at large.

Mayor Linda Tyer said residents need not fear for their safety as authorities continue their investigation into what she called a “tragic event.”

She was 32, had two children, lived in Yonkers, NY.
She suffered a single gunshot wound to the head while sitting in her car at 3:20AM on a Sunday.
She’s survived by her two children.
She was dead at the scene but they will continue to say she was “treated” at BMC. It makes it more palatable if the victim dies at the hospital. It gives a sense of hope that she “almost made it”.
It also allows the DA Andrea Harrington, Police Chief Mike Wynn, and Mayor Linda Tyer to say things like

“This appears to be an isolated incident and investigators do not have any ongoing safety concerns for the public at large,” the DA’s office said.

Mayor Linda Tyer said in a statement that there is no threat to public safety.

Andrea Harrington promised definitive answers on the murders in Sheffield. Still nothing, it’s really hard to cut your own throat so they are still working think kinks out on how to make a murder look like a suicide.

Remember the public has nothing to worry about, all these shootings, in the same neighborhoods, with many of the same bad actors, with stolen guns and drugs found at the scene or on both suspects and victims are just isolated incidences.

The nexus of many of these events includes a number of family members who have been protected from their own criminal activities for years, why is that?

Why does Tyer, Harrington, and Wynn work so hard to push the “isolated incident” narrative.

PR,

They push the “isolated Incident,” so much, because the people committing the crimes, are the same people Progressives (and RJ proponents) tell us are oppressed and mistreated by the white man…Again, as I said yesterday, if any of these shooters happen to be white men, and they shoot a minority, you can best believe the DA will hold a press conference condemning hate and white nationalism. Even if the shooter didn’t have a racist bone in his body. That fits the “agenda of restorative justice.”

Another “Pittsfieldism,” to add to the list:

Restorative Justice-(real meaning): make every excuse in the book for a person of color, to excuse their criminal behavior. Punish white men to the fullest extent of the law and hold elaborate press conference, denoting such.

Over 30 people got shot last weekend in Chicago. Where’s Kim Foxx, on this? Oh wait, it wasn’t two white men who “orchestrated the crime.” Move on, nothing to see here.

https://www.berkshireeagle.com/stories/pittsfield-mayor-daniel-bianchi-challenger-linda-tyer-clash-over-crime-policies,317192

“Sadly, Mayor Bianchi’s reaction and response to each episode of violence in our city is reckless and irresponsible,” said Linda M. Tyer, a candidate in the upcoming mayoral election, in a press release Tuesday. “From dismissing the brutal death of a young man as unpleasant, and now encouraging untrained citizens to confront dangerous criminals, he has not demonstrated compassion or leadership in this crisis. Crime watches are helpful but not a solution.”

https://www.masslive.com/news/2016/05/pittsfield_mayor_linda_tyer_to.html

“I want to be very clear: I have had enough, and I will not allow the City of Pittsfield to be overrun by this or any other criminal element,” said Tyer, a former city councilor and clerk who began her first term as mayor in January.

“To all who threaten our city, I am not going to stand down while you terrorize our neighborhoods,” she said. “We are going to make it very uncomfortable for you to engage in criminal behavior. If you endanger a child or interfere with Pittsfield’s aspiring youth, we will intervene.”

https://www.wamc.org/post/bianchi-and-tyer-trade-jabs-pittsfield-mayoral-debate

“During Mayor Bianchi’s tenure the city’s budget has budget has increased by $18 million and taxes have gone up by more than twice the rate of inflation,” Tyer said. “In my opinion, wasteful spending and wrong priorities have been a hallmark of his administration.”

She also questioned the crime analyst position that Bianchi has touted.
“Seems like it isn’t exactly working because we continue to have violence, shootings, death and young men and women at high-risk,” Tyer said. “So how is the crime analyst being effective in targeting these most high-risk neighborhoods?”

If the only thing I had to go by was the incredible amount of garbage along the streets I would think that city had leadership that just did not care. What other explanation is there?

Everything else suggests it is much worse than I thought. Tyer has a lot of nerve even running again. It is insulting.

Tyer doesn’t want The Kapanskis to know crime is worse than when Bianchi was mayor because she made a big deal about how crime would be dealt with under her watch, and all the shootings were unacceptable, blah blah blah, and now it’s worse, and being an election year and all, she can’t admit she failed so she will pretend it’s not as bad as at is. That is why she referred to the murder as an “event” and Harrington’s office called it an “incident”.

I call it like I see it – it’s another in a long list of murders in this hell hole of a city that the elected officials watched go down the shitter year in and year out, cow towing to special interests and the cultural elite and north street bullshit, instead of cracking down on crime and advocating tougher laws years ago, and trying to eliminate welfare rats and public housing which breeds this shit. Instead, the politicians cater to the slumlords, advocated more public housing, weaker laws in the name of criminal justice reform, and restorative justice bull crap.

“My endorsement comes with the strong belief that Andrea and I share similar values and we are like-minded,” Tyer said, standing beside Harrington at her East Street campaign headquarters with about 25 supporters. “We both believe in creating opportunities for social justice and for thinking differently about entrenched problems.”

Linda Tyer on HER neighborhood watch program
Pittsfield is a reflection of vibrant and dynamic communities that contribute much to the richness of our city. It is absolutely essential that all members of our community are able to live, work, and enjoy their neighborhoods to the fullest measure. As a community it is important to understand that we all have a shared responsibility when it comes to keeping our city safe. Through efforts like neighborhood watch programs, we can each do our part to ensure the safety of our community spaces, which in turn, help to move our city forward.

Looks like the mayor “misspoke” on that one. And ironically one of the very first things she did after getting elected was to take law enforcements advice and move to a gated community. Mr. Melle,

Since Tyer made crime her signature issue when taking on Bianchi, and then practically ignored it with her re-election announcement, when in fact it is worse than when Bianchi was mayor, way worse in fact, it is only fair and just that she gets hammered on crime now. And since she raised taxes every year, higher taxes are her fault too. She also pushed for the community preservation tax I believe, and wanted to use The Kapanski’s cash for free home improvements. So you’re out in left field on this one. AS Johnny Absurd said, she’s got a lot of nerve even running again. But don’t worry Mr. Melle, she’ll be a shoe in to get re-elected, the police will get their man as usual, order will get restored in da hood, and hopefully justice will be served. You don’t have to worry about getting shot up in New Hampshire do you? You don’t have to cough up any more money for water and sewer rates, or the community preservation bs do you? You don’t have to pony up for an annual tax increase while the city goes to hell in a hand basket do you? What streets should we stay off of again?????

Sally Says Mazzeo better light it up in a hurry, or she’s toast. Too lame so far, way too lame. If she campaigned half as hard as Tyer did against Bianchi, she might stand a chance. Might. Tyer has great network and team and is a femenist progressive just like Mazzeo, so what’s the difference? Read what “police report” posted about how Tyer went after Bianchi on crime. Mazzeo had a perfect opportunity at the so called debate, even if the homicide was kept secret until after, or actually wasn’t one yet. Yet what did she do?. She better get aggressive and quick or she’s done. Look what happened to the acting DA. He was way to laid back and got trounced. Tyer’s gonna steamroll Mazzeo unless Mazzeo come out with guns a blazin, no pun intended, real quick as they say. And as Dan wrote, Graves and Kainowski are done. Nice lawn signs though. “We trust that law enforcement will find the person who committed this heinous crime. We will aggressively prosecute and hold the perpetrator accountable. Informants have no reason to cooperate with a weak DA.The state police under Capeless were some of the best in Mass., but they left. As Kalinowsky referred to at the debates, “reform” Harrington style and/or incompetence has left police demoralized and waiting it out. So far all she has done is throw around misleading information like that some ACLU group said African-Americans pay $5,000 for bail while whites pay $1,000 therefore we ought to have no more cash bail. Not the intended target
Stephanie Olivieri, 32, of Yonkers, N.Y., was shot once while sitting in a car on Columbus Avenue. Investigators don’t believe she was the intended target, according to the office.

NY connection
Neighbors said Monday that she had regularly spent time in the Columbus Avenue neighborhood, where the road meets John and South John streets.

DA Harrington, Chief Wynn, Mayor Tyer, a coverup.
DA Harrington won’t allow her office to release the time and date of death. It’s a public record.

“At this time, the family requests privacy,” said Andy McKeever, a spokesman for the office, in a Wednesday news release. The office declined to specify date of death, which is a matter of public record.

“We are not going to wade into her medical issues at this time,” McKeever said.

Shot spotter was wrong. There was a delay in finding her due to police responding to errant shot spotter information.
Shot spotter delayed the response. They ignored or were slower to respond to 911 calls because they were relying on shot spotter.
They drove past the victims car and had to come back, once given an address by a person living in the house.
She took one round to the head that was instantly lethal.
Pittsfield Police officers responded to both a ShotSpotter activation and several 911 calls reporting gunshots at 3:22 a.m. near 347 Columbus Ave. There, officers found Olivieri wounded inside a silver sedan.

Cara Carnevale, whose son was shot twice in the head last year and survived, rebuffed officials who use phrases like “isolated incident” and “not a public concern” to describe the threat level in the city. She said she knows many in Pittsfield who feel trapped in a neighborhood “constantly under the siege of violence.”

“Pittsfield is in the news every other day,” she said. “When is something going to change? We are losing the battle.”

So if Stephanie Olivieri was not the intended target, sitting in her sedan at 3:20am after driving up from Yonkers, NY. After leaving her two children to make the trip and spend time up here, clearly overnight. Who was the target? Who does Andrea Harrington, Chief Wynn, and Mayor Tyer think was the intended target and why? If she was an innocent bystander, just casually sitting in her car at 3:20 am (the clocks are two minutes off) wouldn’t that then mean that the claim of by Andrea Harrington of it being an “isolated incident” and Mayor Linda Tyer saying it’s “not a public concern”, is a lie?
Someone is shooting innocent bystanders, that’s a huge public concern and EVERYONE should be worried.

As long as political correctness is the #1 agenda of this country innocent people will have to take their chances on their own safety. We are being run by ideologues who really do not weigh the long term consequences of the social changes they push. There is a long list of cities under long term Democratic rule that are literal shit holes. Now we get to live it around here daily. Democratic mayor- DA -city council-police chief + every board in this town. The new police board has every nationality + both genders but I doubt 1 Republican or Independent. https://www.berkshireeagle.com/stories/next-time-it-might-be-me-pittsfield-shooting-shakes-neighborhood,583159?

This article was written by Amanda Drane. A person who unabashedly supports Mayor Tyer and DA Andrea Harrington.
This is the most positive she could spin it.

The incongruity of these statements is more proof, DA Andrea Harrington, Chief Wynn, and Mayor Tyer actively engaged in a coverup.

Removed a victim from a vehicle:
Apparent bullet holes lined the house at 343 Columbus Ave., where police had staged the day before after removing a shooting victim from a nearby vehicle shortly after 3 a.m.

Name and Condition not released as of Monday evening.
Law enforcement officials have said only that one person was injured in the shooting. The victim was transported to Berkshire Medical Center, but the name and condition of the victim wasn’t made public by Monday evening.

“We are not releasing any further information at this time because the investigation is ongoing and very active,” said Andy McKeever, a spokesman for Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington. “Investigators and detectives remain in the field. We will provide additional updates when we can.”
They were sure though immediately that there was “no danger to the public” and this was an isolated incident.

Shot Spotter failed and sent police to the wrong area.
It took them nearly 20 minutes to find the victim.
Linda Kelley, chairwoman of the West Side Neighborhood Initiative and Columbus Avenue resident, said she heard 11 loud shots early Sunday morning.

Kayla Hadsell, of John Street, said she was in the bathroom when the shots rang out.

“I thought it was fireworks, it was so continuous,” she said.

Then she said she looked outside and heard an electrical whine coming from the nearby ShotSpotter device, which detects and alerts police officers to the location of gunshots fired.

“It sounded like a generator,” she said.

Hadsell said it took about 20 minutes of officers shining flashlights in the area for them to find the woman who’d been shot. She said officers then smashed the window in order to remove her from a parked vehicle.

She said it seemed strange to her that it took them so long to find her.
It took them a long time to find her because she was shot in the head and dead in the car.

Shot spotter is not reliable. It sent police to the wrong part of the street. They actually drove by then turned around. An officer on foot, after checking on the address with dispatch found her and the car.

Shot Spotter is a million dollar program that delayed any hope this woman had of getting life saving care.

Listen to what your heart is telling you and get yourself and children out of the line of fire. The streets are dirty. The schools are failing. The people elected to take care of the city are more focused on taking care of themselves.

The crime in Pittsfield has gotten exponentially worse at a much faster rate due, in no small part, to poor management.
Mayor Linda Tyer was passable as a city clerk, she is clearly not fit to be mayor. Chief Wynn might make for a good DARE officer or school Resource Officer or an animal control officer but he has no business being chief.

Things can get better, but under the current system they have only gotten worse.
At some point someone should begin to ask, “while Wynn has be Chief why is it certain people continue to get a pass.”

The city deserves better, or at least the hope of something better.
That hope would include firing both Mayor Linda Tyer and Chief Wynn and then firing DA Andrea Harrington.

There are so many inconsistencies.

They say they found her at 3:22. Witnesses on the scene who called 911 said it took them 20 minutes to find her. This after multiple 911 calls, and a “shot spotter” activation.
The police drove up and down the street and physically got out of their car and walked past the car of the victim.
It was only after police confirmed the address, knocked on the door of the building, and was told the shooting was in the street did they find the victim.
Shot spotter pointed the police in the wrong direction and up one block.

Pittsfield has paid over a million dollars for three years of shot spotter. Mayor Linda Tyer and Chief Wynn both consider that a “fair price” and think shot spotter is a success. It is just evidence of their poor understanding of government and policing.

Here’s a very critical analysis of shot spotter based on contracts and performance from an investors point of view.

It wasn’t the shorting of the stock it was the performance data of the system and contract information that was important.

The close rate of crimes attributed to shot spotter. The number of false reports. The price cities are paying.
An interesting factoid, Pittsfield pays some of the highest costs per square mile out of all the customers of ShotSpotter.

Mayor Tyer and Chief Wynn think shot spotter is a success and are on track to spend $1.2 to 1.5 million on the system. It is not a success, the last shooting it misdirected the police to a different location.
It took them 20 minutes between the first 911 call to find the victim. ShotSpotter sent them to the wrong area.
But mayor Linda Tyer and Chief Wynn want to spend more on the system.

I thank Dan Valenti for providing this site, that we tend to take for granted.

Something we don’t take for granted it this…

I commend the Berkshire Eagle editorial board for reiterating our sentiment on the West Side. In my opinion this is a strong condemnation on how the shootings have been handled by the DA, Mayor and PPD.

https://www.berkshireeagle.com/stories/our-opinion-worried-westside-needed-timely-information,583327

Worried West Side needed timely info

The apparent homicide on Columbus Avenue in Pittsfield early Sunday morning is a tragedy for the family of the victim and a nightmare for the residents of the neighborhood. In the absence of information, the fears of residents will be amplified, and unfortunately that information did not emerge as quickly as it should have.

The office of District Attorney Andrea Harrington was slow to release the name of the victim to “provide the family privacy,” according to a spokesman. Certainly, time is needed to notify next of kin but there is no specific family right to privacy, certainly not an open-ended one. The DA has established a precedent that other families may expect it to follow in the future. On Wednesday, the DA’s office revealed that the victim was Stephanie Olivieri, 32, of Yonkers, N.Y., and formerly of Becket.

The DA’s office also described the shooting as an isolated incident, which angered many neighborhood residents who took to social media to express that anger.

This was the fifth shooting in that area in a month’s time and the second involving injuries. Another shooting on Columbus Avenue left a teenager injured last November.

The statement by the DA’s office Wednesday that the victim is not believed to be the intended victim painfully recalls the shooting death in that vicinity of Asiyanna Jones in 2017. These incidents might be unrelated but they are part of a pattern of gun violence in a neighborhood where residents fear for their safety and the safety of friends and family members.

Mayor Linda Tyer’s statement that residents need not fear for their safety in the wake of this “tragic event” didn’t address the concerns of residents who needed specific acknowledgment of the gun violence plaguing their streets and assurance that City Hall was aware of the big picture beyond one “event.” Violence on the eve of an election poses problems for an incumbent, as was seen four years ago when Ms. Tyer challenged a mayor who faced the same issue in largely the same neighborhood.

Vague reassurances won’t calm residents waiting on edge for the sound of gunshots.

That anger was in evidence at a meeting of community members on Tuesday (“DA investigating Columbus Avenue shooting as a homicide,” Eagle, Wednesday).

Volunteers with the West Side Community Outreach Post, which was formed earlier this year as a partnership between the city and the neighborhood, discussed formation of a larger group that would reach out to residents to find solutions to crime. This movement indicates a lack of confidence in the city and in the Police Department, which was not represented at Tuesday’s meeting. The concerns of volunteers that the police department has not embraced their efforts and is waiting for the outreach post to fail are troubling and suggest that police must do more to win their confidence.

The DA’s office, City Hall and the Police Department cannot expect a worried neighborhood to accept on faith that violent incidents are isolated, that there is no reason to fear, and that all is under control. There are no simple solutions or easy answers to deep-rooted crime problems that are complex in scope, and residents shouldn’t expect them. They should, however, expect timely information and frankness from the appropriate officials. Neither were forthcoming in the immediate aftermath of the latest outbreak of deadly gun violence in the West Side.

Anyone knows that some mole would leak information about her holding information for personal gain in a red second.

Maybe the death wasn’t announced immediately because it wasn’t a death until days later. The person obviously got transported to the hospital as she wasn’t dead at the scene. Person gets treated and it becomes obvious they probably have a brain injury that is not recoverable. The person was not transported to Baystate so obviously there was not much hope of any of recovery. The family is summoned from NYC to come spend time with their loved one. Last I knew multiple assessments of brain function are done before someone is declared brain dead. In the meantime, discussion starts with the family regarding organ donation as this is a young person probably healthy. Organ donation these days is a complicated process and takes a few days to accomplish. If this were the case, the person is not officially declared dead till the donation process is complete.

In the mean time the police investigation is ongoing. One could assume they may also keep the victim status under wraps to give a better chance of pursuing the suspect(s). Once the announcement comes the victim is dead the assailant(s) are beating feet as they now know the face a murder charge.

Police Report doesn’t know their azz from a hole in the ground.
You will find these shootings all have common threads among them and maybe if we give them long enough they will just kill each other off. I don’t believe they are innocent bystanders, if they choose to associate with this element they need to realize they may die by the sword as well.

Only thing Mayor Tyer has done wrong is think she could make a difference in the violent and depraved society we live in when she was campaigning. As long as we have social justice warriors protecting these violent members of society and give them access to peddle their dangerous games. Drew Herzig and all his clown friends should be really proud they are spending their time defending these violent people and trying to tie the hands of law enforcement. The police are fighting fo their lives everywhere, pretty soon no one will sign up to be a po.

Flogging,
PoliceReport provided facts, while you are providing speculation.
To answer your first question, YES. And the mayor most certainly had access to the information.

Maybe this will help you understand better.

People can be DOA or dead at the scene. Dead bodies as well as living victims of a crime will both get transported to BMC. There is no local or county coroner’s office, there is a chief medical examiner in Boston. In cases of homicide, the body is transported to the nearest hospital and “bagged and tagged” and the body bag itself is locked with a secure evidence tag. This is to preserve the chain of custody and to preserve the body for autopsy.

Innocent bystander or participant
She was in a car in a very bad neighborhood at 3am. She’s not from the area anymore so she made a purposeful trip to the area to do something or see someone.
If, as they claim (DA Andrea Harrington, Chief Wynn, and Mayor Tyer) she was an innocent bystander, then they know the motive, they have an idea of who the target was, and who the shooter might be. That would prove knowledge beyond that of what the average citizen would know. If you don’t think the DA calls the police Chief and the Mayor every time there’s a shooting, you would be wrong. If you don’t think the purposefully suppressed evidence in this case, not for concerns of criminality, but for politics, you’d be wrong again.

Remember this was an “isolated instance” and “the public is not in danger”. Clearly there was a coordinated “story” between DA Andrea Harrington, Chief Wynn, and Mayor Linda Tyer.

When you speak of SJW, are you speaking about DA Andrea Harrington and Mayor Linda Tyer?

“My endorsement comes with the strong belief that Andrea and I share similar values and we are like-minded,” Tyer said, standing beside Harrington at her East Street campaign headquarters with about 25 supporters. “We both believe in creating opportunities for social justice and for thinking differently about entrenched problems.” – Linda Tyer

If you are, on that you’d be right. As long as DA Andrea Harrington and Mayor Linda Tyer are spouting their version of social and restorative justice, Pittsfield doesn’t have a chance. They are quite literally tying the hands of police by continuing to employ the least effective Chief in 30+ years, Chief Wynn. They are tying the hands of police by wasting time with citizen review boards, and bias training.

“Molly”: It’s obvious you are in the camp for the mayor, Wynn and the DA.

Forget it and save your breath. We all know what is going on. Even the BB editorial today hit it on the head.

A drive by murder 266 feet from the Police Community Outreach Center. Shots fired near an MSP trooper on patrol. Next it will be shootings near 39 Allen Street! Oh, I forgot the ones at Lach’s Lounge and the Park Square shooting a decade ago.
Sorry, my bad!
But it’s good to hear that the public is in no danger!!!

Wasn’t a youth murdered in the Burger King parking lot a few years ago? I think this a job for the New Police Advisory Board.

I don’t really care what part of the city is hit by violence. Residents should not have to wear body armor and pack a Glock to take their dog out for a walk. A walk on North Street after dark shouldn’t be a life-threatening experience. Columbus Avenue should not now or ever should it have been allowed to become a combat zone. The city is simply not safe, especially after dark.

Has there been any improvement under the progressive La-La Land view of Tyer, Harrington, and Wynn? Hell no! Things have gotten worse. Why? Simple. When there is a high risk of severe punishment, incentive then exists to attempt to avoid murderous behavior. Take away that risk of punishment, give out “Get Out of Jail Free” cards to anyone whose skin is brown or black because “they really never got a fair shake”, and what do you get?

Dummies voted in Tyer and Harrington. People wanted Progressives. I find them both to be sickening glory houds.

Frankly,we all got what they promised. Many good people sat home while the Progressive Democrats piled it on. The standard Progressive bag full of s**t mixed with hot air, and you never want those two combined.

The stink is unbelievable. They all have to go. Enough is enough.

So I hope I have this correct! Is this a new campaign slogan for Lovely Linda?

Come to Pittsfield – Get Shot and Killed – We Will Throw A Barbecue In Your Honor!

Are the tax payers paying for this barbecue?

I have never felt so damn frustrated in my life. I honestly don’t know how Tyer, Harrington and Wynn can show their faces in public!

we trust the police and elected officials to keep us safe so we don’t have to carry guns and knives around. Winn and Tyer are the leaders. THE CRIME WAVE IS THEIR FAULT. PERIOD.

If your going to place blame be sure to add in Harrington, she sucks at her job really bad. But agreed with Tyer and Wynn. They share the same traits as restorative justice, zero accountability.
