HELLO, COLUMBUS: INDIGENOUS PEOPLE’S DAY A CELEBRATION OF SLAVERY & HUMAN DEGRADATION

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY OCT. 14 COLUMBUS DAY, 2019) — Replacing Columbus Day with “Indigenous People’s Day” is not about honoring the red man. It’s about punishing those of Italian heritage for the crime of being white and European. Chief among the pencil heads who bullied this change were school superintendent JIV McCandless and his idiot enabler, school committee chair Kathy Yon.

Indigenous People’s — Indians or Native Americans, of you prefer: What is their pre-Columbian heritage? We know the story of the first Thanksgiving, Pocahontas, and the other benign tales, but what the reality was largely that of a savage people living in an unforgiving wilderness caught in perpetual warfare with other tribes competing for resources.

Prior to Christopher Columbus and the European advance, North America was essentially one large concentration camp. Constant warring among Indian tribes led to slavery, cannibalism, massacres, torture, and a way of life more suited for the ninth circle of hell than a prosperous fruition of human potential. The arrival of Columbus marked the beginning of discovery, enlightenment, and civilization. It built a foundation upon which a new nation could build and without which present day America would not exist.

THE PLANET would refer all open minded people to read George Feldman’s book, Cannibalism, Headhunting, and Human Sacrifice in North America: A Forgotten History. The book examines the factual record of life before Columbus and until colonization by Europe in the mid-1600s.

———- ooo ———-

Michael Graham, a CBS News commentator and political editor of NHJournal.com, writes:

According to an eyewitness account of “indigenous peoples” at work—in this case, the Iroquois in 1642, as observed by the Rev. Father Barthelemy Vimont’s “The Jesuit Relations”—captives had their fingers cut off, were forced to set each other on fire, had their skinned stripped off and, in one captured warrior’s case, “the torture continued throughout the night, building to a fervor, finally ending at sunrise by cutting his scalp open, forcing sand into the wound, and dragging his mutilated body around the camp. When they had finished, the Iroquois carved up and ate parts of his body.”

Shocked? Don’t be. Cannibalism was also fairly common in the New World before (and after) Columbus arrived. According to numerous sources, the name “Mohawk” comes from the Algonquin for “flesh eaters.” Anthropologist Marvin Harris, author of “Cannibals and Kings,” reports that the Aztecs viewed their prisoners as “marching meat.”

The native peoples also had an odd obsession with heads. Scalping was a common practice among many tribes, while some like the Jivaro in the Andes were feared for their head-hunting, shrinking their victims’ heads to the size of an orange. Even sports involved severed heads. If you were lucky enough to survive a game of the wildly popular Meso-American ball (losers were often dispatched to paradise), your trophy could include an actual human head.

———- ooo ———-

The Pittsfield School System teaches that Columbus and the subsequent Europeans who came to America engaged in state-sponsored genocide against Indians, that it was the sole mission of whites to crush non-whites. It purveys a fiction common to cities dominated by leftist ideologues, who view history as a category of fiction and who approach facts as if they carried Ebola.

Ordinary citizens don’t buy it, of course. In 2017, a Marist poll showed 56% in favor of Columbus Day as opposed to Indigenous People’s Day. Two years later, the number rose to 67%. THE PLANET is certain that same poll would be well above 75% in Shire City.

This majority shows its disgust each election cycle by not voting. That’s what bullies like JIV and Yon have done. In November, it will be the same thing again. The winner will be the majority of voters who didn’t bother. The skunks will continue driving Pittsfield into the gutter.

Happy Columbus Day, everyone.

Rarely do administrators let the facts determine their views. The European conquest of North and South American improved the lives of millions at the expense of thousands. The Euros did commit atrocities and slavery headed the list. But the hunter-gathers who inhabited North America were no more entitled to the land than the Europeans were.

Columbus day needs to be celebrated. The Italian adventurer opened up a new world.

That’s a great idea. We should take the wealth of the thousand richest people in the United States, and redistribute it to the millions of working poor. no problem with it back then,
shouldn’t be a problem with it now.

Before you find the door, I notice that you cannot find even one ‘US style government’, and one that fails at that. I guess the original authors were quite astute, and we therefore agree that the product of their labor fared better than most, including the Jacabins, Matxist-lenin-stalin-fascist mix. Parliamentary governments tend to be reliable, but have not been applied to a nation ad diverse large and heterogenic as us. So how to compare favorably or not?

Now, words. ‘Sycophant’ is almost always used wrongly. The word defines slanderous behavior such as informing. As in,” the desk-boy accepted a bribe to falsely accuse the President of extorting a foreign leader.” There is no good explanation how it became common to imply obsequious.

Correction:

The word, sycophant, correctly used is a person who exhibits slanderous behavior such as an informant, libel, false accusations. Correctly, one could say “the sycophant accepted a bribe to falsely accuse the President of extorting a foreign leader”

Hope that clears up that post, planeteers.

Fake news.

PARASITE, SYCOPHANT, TOADY, LEECH, SPONGE mean a usually obsequious flatterer or self-seeker. PARASITE applies to one who clings to a person of wealth, power, or influence or is useless to society. a jet-setter with an entourage of parasites SYCOPHANT adds to this a strong suggestion of fawning, flattery, or adulation. a powerful prince surrounded by sycophants TOADY emphasizes the servility and snobbery of the self-seeker. cultivated leaders of society and became their toady LEECH stresses persistence in clinging to or bleeding another for one’s own advantage. a leech living off his family and friends SPONGE stresses the parasitic laziness, dependence, and opportunism of the cadger. a shiftless sponge, always looking for a handout

Perhaps Columbia pictures can do a piece on Christ-opher Columbus and donate the proceeds to the victims of the Columbine shootings. Perhaps include footage of the Space Shuttle Columbia exploding. Air the piece right after an episode of Columbo. Even film it this Nation’s Capitol, the District of Columbia, Washington.

The two Columns formerly known as the twin towers are now One.

I remember the battle of Columbus Ave in Pittsfield long ago. Which had the Polish combatants throwing grenades at the Italians in an offensive to take control of the area. The Italians pulled the pins on the grenades and threw them back at the Polish to end the battle.

The proverbial system is evil and unjust among all cultures and nations in our World’s history! There are always “the others” who are exploited, abused, and persecuted. I believe the Native American cultures and nations had a lot of good qualities and they were not all “savages”.

I support Columbus Day because it honors a man who brought European culture to the Americas. It is unfair to blame Christopher Columbus for every horrible thing that happened since his arrival to the Americas.

There is a GENOCIDE and war crimes going on right now in Syria. I feel sad for the persecuted Kurdish People. Trump’s foreign policy debacle will go down in history!

I am an Italian American and it’s never once crossed my mind that this change is an insult to me or my ancestors, most of whom arrived way the hell post Columbus. Snowflake Italians better be drying their tears.

However, perhaps the upset folks (in regards to our genocidal history) like our current mayor could donate her house back to the Wappanaugh or Iroquois who can then promptly turn it into a casino. We could organize an online swap? It would go hand in hand with the peace pipe.

Ironically after these God fearing Europeans made America great again by killing the Indians they decided to make it even better by killing almost a million of themselves in a civil war. Then they followed up this dubious achievement with the killing of tens of thousands of buffaloes which made America an even better place to live.

Now we have Donald Trump and the sky is the limit for Europeans making American better. Enjoy.

The far left wants to kill all of the cows. Are you as upset about that as you are about the buffaloes?

It wasn’t that long ago that Democrats wanted us to model ourselves after the Europeans. That was until Europe started going downhill financially and otherwise. President Trump is totally unique about making America great again and since the rest of the world wants to invest heavily in our country, that says a lot about how successful we are right now as compared to the rest of the world. Other than China, we are the only ones prospering.

Spain was not in the business of spreading civilization. They were like all wealthy powerful countries looking for resources and what happened going forward was disease and the struggle of securing a new discovery. We are all smart enough to imagine how this really went down and we must be patient with those who want to sugarcoat Europes role in the World. The problem with truth is the facts can be very unattractive to those who can only deal with the fantasy told to us as soon as we can remember. To me Columbus day was about who could draw 3 ships and state Columbus discovered America. That led to Thanksgiving dinner and a drawing of a Turkey. So as we moved from 2nd grade to 2019 we learn things that are uncomfortable to many.

Pat
Pat

Joe Biden said we believe in truth not the facts. The facts are that the majority of those who inhabited this country before Columbus arrived were not civilized and many were brutal, but this isn’t the truth that the Democrats want us to believe. They want us to believe their fantasy version of the truth as opposed to the actual facts.

According to Andrea Harrington in this WAMC article, the “community book read” is an “actionable solution and part of her office’s plan to go forward with domestic violence with or without victim testimony. Trouble is, that has always been the practice of the DA’s office. So essentially, we have a new community program created as a response to nothing. It’s disappointing WAMC’s Josh Landes didn’t ask what the previous approach was.

“A constituent – Marietta Cawse, who lives in Pittsfield – sent me a clipping from the ‘New York Times,’ which was a book review of this book,” said DA Harrington. She says the article argued for an evidence based prosecution policy in domestic violence cases.

“And what that means is that prosecutors should be treating domestic violence cases similar to the way we treat homicide cases in terms of, we should prosecute cases where we have the evidence to do so even when we don’t have victims who necessarily are cooperating and are pushing for the prosecution,” said the DA.https://www.wamc.org/post/berkshire-task-force-domestic-sexual-violence-carrying-out-community-read

DA Andrea Harrington doesn’t even know what she doesn’t know.
She’s basing policy on a clipping about a book she didn’t even read. So typical, all press releases and no substance.
There are over 80 Williams cases, Pucci, a lawyer made a big deal about his “clients” case. Where is Pucci and DA Andrea Harrington on this case? It would seem they have a very willing “victim”. What a disgraceful disservice to her by DA Andrea Harrington to not pursue that case immediately! I certainly hope DA Andrea Harrington tries that case personally.

I am amazed how some people judge political events…
Biden’s son–Hunter Biden was hired by Ukrainian Energy/Gas company(which traditionally is in hands of Ukrainian criminals of high level officials) –placed on the Board of Directors even he:
#1 Speaks no Ukrainian language–None;
#2 Has never worked in Energy sector before;
#3 Never worked in Ukraine anywhere.
Therefore, unqualified by the U.S. standards –neither experience, nor education.
But still Hunter Biden was hired with humongous salary of
between $50 000 to $100 000 per month for being “consultant”
in international agreements–or simply– making corrupt business deals using his father’s connections.
So, who’s fault is that? By Liberal standards–Trump’s fault, sure.

Response to CC vis-a-vis various gifts of Columbus, including Columbo.

Columbo brings up an interesting story. I once studied with Palumbo at Art Students League way back in the days of youthful optimism. His favorite student was Columbo, though that was before my time even so I never met him. Palumbo surely would not have gained possession of a expanse of ASL without the patronage of Columbo namesake of Columbus.

As a child, I too despised Columbus, as was proper and expected. With time, as I disengaged from academia, I acquired appreciation for his contribution. Some people despise the insulting meteor that wiped out the T Rex’s and boiled the oceans, but where would we be without it?

Though I would love to see the graceful sweep of a giant bird dominating the sky and anticipation of who won’t show up for work on its account, I accept that we can’t have a historical accommodation for mammalian civilization and dinosaur civilization.

Today, October 14 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm I stood with Columbus Day=1492= sign and pic of Santa Maria–Christopher Columbus’s ship on city’s square. I enjoyed every moment of it:))
One white young fat girl across the street screamed hysterically…No-o-o o!!
Other than that –people supported me:)
One man–jogger, came -talked to me: ” We can’t judge what happened five centuries ago by today’s Liberal standards.”–he said. I agree completely! That’s why I filed lawsuit against city of Pittsfield, Pittsfield School committee and Drew Herzig for replacing Columbus Day by Indigenous people’s day on School calendar(only)–as School superintendent McCandless wrote to me.
( We did it inside school area/backyards only, so you can still celebrate somewhere else–he wrote:))You can see that lawsuit on web http://www.masscourts.org, then chose Berkshire Superior Court, then type my name Alexander Blumin–case#1876CV00187. I temporary stopped it to seek an attorney. I am 100% right, since Indigenous people’s Day already exists in MGL ,Part1, Title II, Chapter6, Section 12VV—Native American Day.
On the top of that—By MGL–only state legislature in Boston can change, replace, remove State holiday–not Drew Herzig or school committee inside school backyard:))

Sierra hypothesizes,” A white kid gets shot at Princeton University. He’s walking, he’s visiting his big brother who’s a student there, he gets shot in the head. He gets killed. We’re going to get coverage on that because, OH MY GOD, WE HAVE TO PUT THE PRECIOUS LITTLE WHITE BOY.”

Insider Cary Poarch responds, “But three people get shot in Newark?”

Sierra responds, “NOBODY CARES. Nobody. Nobody cares. Maybe unless it happens on Cory Booker’s block!”

https://www.projectveritas.com/2019/10/14/cnn-staffer-admits-racial-bias-part-1/

“In the second Project Veritas insider video segment covering racial bias and it’s effect on coverage at CNN, Media Coordinator Christian Sierra, states, “I think that shootings in poorer areas or, um, minority communities don’t get as much coverage as if they were to happen in a white area.”

Insider Cary Poarch questions his statement, “ So, CNN doesn’t cover the shooting that happened in a black neighborhood the same that they would cover a shooting in a white neighborhood?”

Sierra responds “I think if, unless if were looking a mass, if you’re a mass shooting like if it were like 20 people killed, they would cover it.” “But if there were like two people killed, like in a gang related violence shooting, they’re not gonna really care.”

Whether it’s Columbus, slavery, the Civil War, what is past is gone. It’s in the rearview mirror and you can’t change it.

So pull your big boy and big girl underpants up, get over yourselves, and stop being offended by every fart that blows in your direction.

I say, not ‘Happy’, but “Be thankful for Columbus Day, lest you may not have been here today.” (a reference to “The Butterfly Effect”, look it up.)
On another note, re: the acceptance of the $7,500.00 grant to offset the purchase of an electric vehicle as a replacement for Parking Control.
What a grilling of mundane questions just to accept a grant (free money) that would off-set by 23%, an already voted on and purchased vehicle!
Where was the hue & cry then; when it was approved?
“You hafta vote on it to see what’s in it!” Duh #1
Mr. Morandi asked if could be serviced at the yards. Of course, just as much as a conventional vehicle can. ALL vehicles have components that can only only be serviced at a dealer with specialized tools. Duh #2.
Mr. Simonelli asked about leasing. In his experience (and before) has the concept of leasing been discussed? Are there any leased vehicles in the fleet? One, as an experiment. Does the esteemed Councilor get out much? That shows how attuned he is with the various depts. Duh #3.
Ms Mazzeo and Morandi voted “No” to the acceptance of free money because they have some problem with a City entity funding it’s own existence. NOT germain to the acceptance of the grant. “I, I, I, am hooked on a feeling!” (Not supported by facts). Is that how she is going to run a city; based “onna feelin”? Duh # 4 1/2.
Jeez, there is an electric car in the fleet now. How is IT doin? Must be doin’ OK since the Fleet Mgr and Kerwood wanted a new one! (That an “Awww!”)
Mr White seemed to be the most educational sound on the issue. Bravo Peter! (Another “Awww”).
Now sit back and look at all of this nonsense just over free money for an electric car. Compare & contrast it with the Q & A and concerns over an experimental nuclear business in an EPA capped area…………..not too much, huh?
For a reference on (un)informed response to the still bewildered, I suggest the movies, “The Caine Mutiny,” “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “Jaws.” “Much ado about nothing” until the inevitable “swims up and bites them in the ass.” (Hooper, “Jaws”, 1976)
The “Duh”s tried but the ‘Awwws” & the mute got it.
My take is no one in the City gubmint wants to be seen in the “recycled into the fleet” Chevy Bolt!

No one buys a electric car believing the gas/oil savings will make up for the excess cost. Especially as a small coupe can get 30+ mpg. Does a Spark cast $10,000/year in gas to drive?

Electric charge is $4, but with delivery, it’s more like $8. Edmunds has data. Seems to me that the “I feel good about being green” is an emotional response that overrides essential home economics that, as you say, should have been studied months prior.

I have a plug in hybrid. Last month my fuel economy was 130 miles per gallon. I drove 2,017 miles and, 1,412 of which were on electric. My estimated fuel savings were 74 gallons. At $2.45 per gallon that is $181.30 cents in saved fuel costs. The majority of my vehicle charging is at free, public charging stations. Electric vehicles have decreased maintenance costs over time.

We should also have pocket pool day ( you have to keep your hand in your pants pocket all day) and back-pack day ( if your an adult it has to have something stolen from either Cumby’s A-Mart or the dollar store) in your backpack, or a trespass notice posted on your forehead from said stores.

TSC,

I’m tired of asking. Tired of posting about it, tired on laying out a roadmap, out of desperation as a Kapanski who keeps getting screwed. I doubt at this point Mazzeo will win – she’s just not trying hard enough. I think Tyer wants it much more and is going to win handily. If by a fluke Mazzeo skates by I think we’ll just be swapping the Tax and Spend lions Dan named years ago.

Wow, thanks Dan. Didn’t know they were still on guard duty. So if Tax is on the left, Spend is on the right, right near the corner office!

Just disappointed in Mazzeos lack of fight.

One of these days someone is going to invent a time machine. (probably someone in Pittsfield) and then we can go back in time and interview Chris Columbus (if that was really his name) and find out if the son of a bitch really discovered America or even knew anything about sailing or boats or scurvy. And I say this because his name never comes up in the Bible at all and he is not mentioned even once in the Declaration of Independence.

So is it possible that Christopher Columbus was just an orphan boy from Sicily that made shit up and was a forerunner of fake news?

And why don’t we have a Picasso Day?

I have picasso everyday. Why would I limit myself to just one a year? Are you trying to make comfort food a religious sacrament?

Very good observation. I know for a fact that most would discard Columbus Day for Joe DiMaggio Day.

Joe DiMaggio?? Don’t even get me started on this guy! He was just a paper boy in small town America until baseball was invented in Pittsfield. Without Pittsfield, Ma. Joe DiMaggio would have been a nobody, picking up the eggs at a poultry farm for six cents a day.

I typed up a response about that refuted your false claims, but it didn’t post for whatever reason and I’m not going to waste my time repeating it, but sycophant is not as you describe.

More fake news, the latest arrow in the right wing nut-job’s quiver.

Probably got your miseducation from wherever this blog’s ideas of restorative justice and social engineering came from. Right up on the Bellicheaters’ pedestal.
