PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY OCT. 20, 2021) — So much information. So many reports from THE PLANET‘s Z Agents in the Secret Squadron. Dealing with the next batch:

!PLANET! Banned in Boston !EXCLUSIVE!

Well-placed sources tell THE PLANET that the 40-bed “houseless” facility (nod to the council Veep) set to be built in the Methodist Church on Fenn Street say the cost of the project has jumped the rails, exceeding 30% of the value of the church itself. This triggered a state reg that now requires the entire building to be brought up to code. This will delay for who knows how long the announced April 2022 opening of the shelter. Sounds like politics as usual in “vibrant, dynamic” Pittsfield. We are getting more info on this breaking story and hope to have more in The Weekend Edition or early next week.

Persip Responds to Facebook Allegation

A post on Facebook has been circulating through the city, causing the usual whisper campaign. We heard about it when a reader sent us this:

I was told to go on a group on Facebook called the Pittsfield Sentinel and to look for a post by a guy saying his brother had OD’d on oxy he bought from a car dealership on the corner of Francis and Linden. He thought it was oxy 30 but it turned out to be pure fentanyl. The post said the brother took the pill, OD’d, and died. He said to not buy these things and leave your family to cry and make your burial arrangements. The post said his brother bought the pills from Earl Persip, the father of the city councilor with the same name and that it would be covered up because the son was on the city council.

I hope that isn’t true. If somebody commits a crime they should pay the price. I’ve heard some shady stories about this father and son. A plow was stolen from a local business last winter and allegedly was found on the front of the son’s truck when the police investigated. Police were told that Persip bought it from a guy. We never saw anything in the Eagle about it. Are these two and others being treated special? Why?

THE PLANET contacted councilor Persip, and he responded quickly and directly:

EARL PERSIP: That post was also sent to me on Facebook. I agree with the sender of the email. If someone commits a crime, they should be held accountable. To suggest that I or any other Councilor would attempt, let alone be able, to influence who the police or DA prosecute is absurd. I had a brother struggle with addiction and die less than two years ago. I feel for this family and it’s loss. I also have another brother who is currently in prison, and that’s where he should be because of the crimes he committed. As for the plow, that is false. I have never had a plow on any of my trucks. I lease, and you can’t put plows on leased vehicles. You’re welcome to ask the police if I was part of any investigation, because I wasn’t. I’ve dedicated my life to making the Persip name mean something in this city again.  I am my own man and will stand by everything I have done, and breaking the law isn’t one of them.

THE PLANT lauds Persip’s head-on response.

Do As I Say, Not …

On Jan. 26, 2021, President Joe Biden said, “I have this strange notion we are a democracy … if you can’t get the votes … you can’t [legislate] by executive order unless you’re a dictator.”

Nonetheless, Biden has signed 63 executive orders, 37 presidential memoranda, 122 proclamations, and 23 notices since Inauguration Day. He has found other workarounds. For example, he recently instructed the Department of Labor to force employees around the country to get vaccinated, this while immigrants illegally crossing from Mexico to the U.S. had no vaccine requirement. Do as I say.

School Board Bored (and Boring) Debate

The School Committee debate last night was another Sominex pill for the electorate. Sample question to the women only: “What is your favorite movie?” Sample question to the men: “How long have you been a serial killer, woman hater, and racist?”

One of the questions concerned dropping “Braves” as the THS nickname. The correct answer: “Who gives a rat’s ass? C’mon, ask something more relevant than this non-issue.”

Closest and best answer came from Bill Tyer: “There are so many other issues that we can be talking about.” He mentioned living wages and supporting parents. “Why are we wasting time on this? They never should have [changed the name] in the first place.”

Tyer told THE PLANET,  “We can’t keep doing the same thing, electing the same folks, and think we will get a different result. I am not an educator. I am a problem solver.”

Former mayor Sara Hathaway showed strongly as well.

If You Come, They Will Build It

While Pittsfield sits with its finger up the hole, other Northeast cities show revitalization is more than a word. Case in point: Syracuse, NY, our second home. This from the Post-Standard:

Lockheed Martin’s amazing surge in Salina: Lockheed Martin Corp. is adding hundreds of jobs, investing millions of dollars, and expanding its campus in suburban Syracuse. The burst of activity has been fueled by a series of big contracts from the Army, Navy and Air Force after Lockheed’s plant at Electronics Park in Salina beat out competing defense contractors for long-term projects. It’s a significant turnaround from eight years ago, when Lockheed Martin developed plans to close its sprawling Salina campus.

Other recent developments in that great city include the town-gown initiative between SU and downtown, a $118 million top-to-bottom renovation of The Dome, making it one of the world’s great sports venues; and major investments by Aneuser-Busch in its facility there, and a two new Amazon warehouse and distribution centers set to open later this year. The two centers will total nearly 4 million square feet and add hundreds of jobs.

THE PLANET will now wait as the apologists tell us all the reasons Pittsfield isn’t Syracuse and why the “vibrant, dynamic” Benigno Numine continues to rot from the head down and bottom up, squeezing the Kapanskis in the middle.

Really? Karen’s response to most questions was “I don’t know enough about it so I can’t answer.” Really? She shouldn’t even be in the race. She can’t barely get her words together to form a cohesive sentence. Same with Benoit.
He’s simply a Mazzeo plant. Not likeable at all and similarity to Karen doesn’t have a clue about government.

Can she always say “Dynamic” and “Vibrant”? Does she live in a millionaires only gated community? Does she preside over Level 5 inner city public schools? Does she want a rubber stamp City Council and School Committee? Does she sit on tens of millions of Biden Bucks plus Matt Kerwood’s multimillion dollar Slush Funds? Does she block dissenting Pittsfield political emails, especially from Pittsfield Massachusetts native JON MELLE? Is she out-of-touch to local residents and small business owners? Does she allow a certain politically connected Dalton Avenue pot growing operation to stink up abutting working class neighborhoods with “Dead Skunk Odor” marijuana smells? Did she take no responsibility for the dozens of dead seniors at Pittsfield long term care facilities last winter? Did she give out-of-town millionaires huge tax breaks? Did she pass record breaking municipal budgets, fees, public debts and other liabilities? Does she understand that homeless people are pooping on North Street’s sidewalks? Does she call any candidate or other speaker who disagrees with her failed leadership “Melissa Mazzeo plants”? Did she rise through the ranks of Pittsfield politics through sucking up to Godfather Jimmy Ruberto of Naples Florida? Does she support the 23-year-old indebted, polluted and mostly vacant PEDA land that looks like the surface of the Moon? That is not candidate Karen Kalinowski, but rather, it is Mayor LINDA TYER!

I will keep my post short tonight. First, why are Beacon Hill lawmakers still sitting on $10 billion in cash for a couple of months now? Second, why is Mayor Linda Tyer still sitting on tens of millions in Biden Bucks plus Matt Kerwood’s multimillion dollar slush funds? Doesn’t all of this state and municipal cash really belong in the pockets of the proverbial Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski family?

The Berkshire Eagle is going to publish a SALUTE TO VETERANS on 11/11. They would like people to submit the names of family members or friends with your “mention”. Are they doing this because they really want to honor the veterans OR, because they are charging $44-$79 for EACH name and “mention”?
I find their lack of community disgusting but not surprising. And I do not see how paying to put as veterans name in a newspaper “honors” a veteran in the first place. Tell me how it does.

Newspapers & Slavery / Mills go hand in hand. It’s how the Foundation operates. More tunnels Williams/Mass Moca, Country Curtains, hammer mill fitzpatrick etc. only exists, prosper because of slavery. Hemp is in the new gins. Revolutionary. Senators owned the mills & now their descendants do. At April Hill someone should ask those Greenagers about free will.

POOR YUCKY, She was almost homeless? A friend called me after almost choking laughing after our disadvantaged yuki said when asked about homelessness that, she herself was “almost homeless”. Come on. Almost homeless? Maybe her kids horses had to get non organic hay for a week or maybe she couldn’t travel to NYC with her buddies for a weekend of drinking and shopping l, but homeless? How insensitive was this comment and out of touch. Please Yuki, you can’t play victim all the time, that role goes to Helen the white man hater moon.

I think she means after she allegedly got herpes while sleeping around and gave it to her husband, he kicked her out of the house. This was also about the time her daughters told her they wanted to live with their father. She was considered homeless because her name was not on a mortgage or lease. She was shacking up with some guy she was banging.

These illegals are also being spread across the country under the cover of darkness. I’m seeing many here in Berkshire Country. No vaccines, not even a mask requirement for them as I see them in stores without them. What is wrong with this Biden administration? It’s obvious that they could care less for the people of this country. People coming from foreign countries are being told they need to be vaccinated, but just not the illegal immigrants. Is Biden worried that the illegals will not pile into this country if they think they need to take a vaccine and he NEEDS them to come here in droves.

No vaccines? You are very brave to be going around checking illegal immigrants for vaccines. And being able to tell if someone is illegal just by looking at them is quite a talent as well. So impressed.

The far left wants to cater to women and make men powerless because they think they can easily control women and so far that is proving to be true. Women are not thinking logically about what is happening in this country. All you have to do is mention free childcare and women will turn a blind eye to the true power mad intentions of the far left.

Passing these massive bills is the major goal of the far left and the architects of these bills know they will not be around once reality sets in about just what is in these bills. Pelosi will be doing a runner once the bills are passed. She wanted to retire years ago, I think, during a Hillary administration, but Trump put a hold on those plans. She wanted to invest in all of the items in these massive bills to make herself very wealthy, but Trump was in the way of her ramming through these bills. Biden will not run again, despite what he says, so he doesn’t need to worry about any backlash for himself for destroying our country with these bills. Schumer too will probably leave the political scene soon since he too looks like he is ready to fall over any minute now, so there will be no accountability from any of these people.

Why is Bernie Sanders even involved in the negotiations for these massive spending bills? People rejected the far left radical agenda of Bernie Sanders and voted for Biden who fooled everyone by turning far left radical. Maybe Biden was far left radical all along. Now Manchin has to negotiate with bug eyed radical Bernie Sanders on these bills. Schumer keeps saying that the people of this country are salivating to get these bills passed. More lies from Schumer. From what we know of what is in these bills, which isn’t much, they are not good and will take massive freedoms away from Americans in exchange for some freebies.

I hope that United Methodist closes its doors as a church and becomes a full-time Christian outreach homeless center. I don’t see how a church can offer kids’ Sunday School programs safely, and even adult programs safely, while unknown homeless people are also housed within the building.
But maybe that’s the plan?
And why isn’t the old Catholic HS building still being utilized for homeless?

Branched out – took my child, went to a playground @ 3 pm after-school for most kids, about 10 kids there. Usually we go earlier, 0 other kids. So a cute, friendly long haired blonde child in a pink shirt named, well I can’t repeat the child’s name but for the record it’s not a name – ok Fox. Child’s named Fox. So this child was someone’s brother & I’m like I’m 40+ years old & I’m telling you right now you’re somebody’s sister. My senses never fail. I can’t even leave home because this world is so fucking confusing. Why are they doing this to children. Either you’re a girl or a boy it’s not optional. Act how you want but don’t challenge my senses. Also, child had no idea how old it was ? Like wtf is happening out there ? Ima stay the fuck home, you can have it all.

The far left Marxists want everyone to be androgynous. They want everyone to incorporate the traits of male and female because they no longer recognize the wonderful differences between the sexes. When girls, for example, go through a tom boy stage as is normal for many girls, modern mothers are being taught that this means that their daughters are really males trapped in a female body and encourage the girls to act even more like boys. Some even try to convince them that they are really boys. Some even go to the extreme of encouraging sex change surgery at a very young age. It’s disgusting. I went through a tom boy phase, but then went on to become a complete girly girl as an older teenager. Nature does what nature does, but the far left wants to interfere in that process and is stirring up all kinds of trouble.

Find it very hard to believe that Boston picked up on the issue with the Methodist Church “Houseless” facility. When has Boston ever cared about issues in Pittsfield. I am more inclined that this was “reported” to Boston by an insider to this Administration. Wonder who? This someone owns a business located next to this facility and voiced that he did not want this facility near his business. He also is known to frequent Cumberland Farms at 3 a.m.. Why is this issue just being reported now? Evidently once again there is no plan to help the homeless facing another season of Berkshire winter.

In reading Persip’s response, noticed there was no defense against the fact that the drugs were sold at his father’s establishment. Many people saying it has been going on for years. Find is ironical that the Pittsfield Health Department spends their days “COVID tracing” residents of Pittsfield on every sneeze, burp or fart and then post all over social media about those that don’t comply with their questions, such as the post office. Congrats, all they did was stir up more anxiety in residents. Yet drugs, many fentanyl laced are killing residents daily yet nothing is being done. PPD is well aware of these dealers but nothing is being done, most likely the excuse for allowing it to go on is because Nipples will let the dealers go, so the attitude is why bother! Prime example was last week’s drug bust. Bail reform at it’s best!

The debates this season were pathetic. Not one question was asked about the main issues in Pittsfield. What about crime, traffic enforcement, street filth, needle filled parks, lack of retail, closing of business, lack of filling potholes, panhandlers, why issues are not dealt with on the CC, just thrown to another committee and then forgotten. Prime example of this is the Dalton Avenue residents signed a petition about loud racing vehicles in the neighborhood back in August. That petition has been tossed around from the Police Chief to another Committee and it still has not been addressed. Some petitions have remained on the Agenda at Unfinished Business for years. Why is President PeePee Petie not making sure they are addressed? Most questions in debates pertained to COVID. This COVID issue is NOT the main problem in Pittsfield. It is time to STOP using it as an excuse for the Mayor and CC for not doing their job they were elected to do. Also very sick and tired of Yuki and Persip playing the race game. Neither one of them have done a thing to help the taxpayers, all they have done is whine. Bottom line we need to vote out all of the incumbents. Also have always wondered why Minutes of these meetings are not posted on-line. What are they hiding? They have proven they are just puppets to our non-existent Mayor. By getting rid of these do nothings it is the only hope taxpayers have to trying to save Pittsfield.

Not only did the the BIG DUMP avoid the issue of whether, or not, his dad is dealing drugs, again, and allegedly killing junkies, the BIG DUMP, while regaling us with his family values, one brother dead from drugs, one brother in prison because of drugs, he failed to mention Harmony’s violent history. One would think with his family’s history of involvement with street violence and illicit drugs the BIG DUMP would have found a solution to those quality of life issues afflicting the city wide drug infested violent crime sectors of Pittsfield. Well, I suppose that’s not completely true, as he did move his new family into YT’s neighborhood. I’m sure the his new neighbors were thrilled. And the BIG DUMP’s new $420,000 southeast plantation, not in the ghetto, includes cook’s kitchen, 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths, room enough to house some of Pittsfield’s houseless. Maybe I watched that BS from last night again so I can listen to him lie about what he plans to do for the taxpayers during his next term. And Puki, what a joke she is with her concerns of about becoming houseless herself. Honestly I can’t imagine Puki and her two young girls living under the Mill Street bridge, even if Puki can imagine it. Seriously, Puki would have been more believable if she hopped up on the debate table and started twerking to Cardi B’s ‘WAP’

I’ve decided that THE BIG DUMP and the gavel thumper lisping gasbag PEE PEE are the two to get knocked off. That would leave the taxpayers stuck with short bus simpleton gimpy pee pee, the former PPD retired cop/SRO (collecting her taxpayer funded pension) supplementing her pension with foster kids, mother of 3 grown sons dumb as a box of rocks Kalinowski, and the beer and a hot dog guy. I also hope the former houseless guy in ward 6 beats out the Trova Terrace dingy. If for no other reason, at least someone who has actually experienced houselessness needs the $8000.00 of taxpayer money more than the dingy, married to her alleged doctor wife, living on Trova Terrace.

Kind of pathetic Dan V allows personal attacks like that on this blog. I have seen Mr Persip in person and I am sure he would squash you like the flea you seem to be. As everyone knows we choose our Friends not our Relatives in this life. For the record I can’t stand Earl Persip III because he is a hard core Leftist. He spews AOC talking points at meetings that have no basis in fact. Its too bad because he is obviously intelligent and I’m guessing hard working. His father has been in trouble since the 60’s. The Pittsfield Police should do their job. They know of his criminal activity. I think EP III should be commended for making respectable life for himself. If you happen to read this Councilor try going a little more to the middle in City Government. We desperately need it.

Well there you go, advocating for violence on the behalf of BIG DUMP, a BIG MALE NEGRO who could easily squash me. Thus perpetrating the myth that male negroes are born violent criminals. They will squash you, or rape you, or rob you, or murder you. Or more likely the will do all of those things to you. I don’t like, and I never agree with the smarmy BIG DUMP’s politics. He is a smarmy schitty clowncilor/character. I don’t believe him about the plow incident. Maybe the alleged plow was attached to a truck from his alleged drug dealer father’s lot, and the BIG DUMP was driving THAT truck. Who knows! I wish Dan had asked the BIG DUMP what truck he used when he allegedly ripped off and transported other people’s campaign signs he disposed of in the dumpster behind Paul Rich’s. Does the BIG DUMP’S leasing company allow their vehicles to be used for the theft and transport of the ripped off property of others? Did the cops question(as if they’d admit it) the BIG DUMP about alleged theft of campaign signs, or did they just let him get away with it so he can maintain his respectable facade.

I must go now and enjoy this beautiful day. Because with people like you advocating violence, you never know when you may be snuffed out.

Anyone who drives past that Car dealership on Linden knows they sell a whole lot of something there and it sure as hell isn’t cars.

But its fun to watch Persip Sr.’s whole family jump on those posts to defend him and threaten to ‘sue for slander’, we know that family is familiar with lawyers but usually in a defense capacity.

In regards homelessness locally, keep your eye on the Mass and Cass situation in Boston. That tent City was holding steady at about 200 people and they are saying it has doubled in the last few days.
Boston Business Journal has a great article about a group of Boston business people who got together and with their own funds are willing to help transition people out of the encampment.
Governor Baker and Kim Janey finally then decided to show up for this problem, and both Boston government and Boston business people agree that the solution for Boston is going to be “a statewide solution”.
For those of us in the Berkshires, we know what that means: it means a one-way ticket for these people to Pittsfield and beautiful downtown North Adams.
Revere has already refused to accept anybody from the encampment.
Boston wanted to work with Revere to transform a vacant hotel there into transitional housing for 30 people; Revere very strongly opted out of that opportunity.
Most of the people in the encampment have mental illness and substance use and had previously received services on Long Island, but the bridge to Long Island is no longer.
Boston is willing to restore services on Long island but the mainland foot of the bridge will be in Quincy, and Quincy is flat out refusing to allow that in their City.
The reason we saw such a radical increase in homelessness here last summer, and the reason it dissipated so quickly around the beginning of September last year, is because most were the homeless covid refugees from the eastern part of the state who after they were released from the covid hotel here, had no where to go.
Somehow, somewhere, somebody was able to provide every single one of our homeless people with the Boston accent tickets back to their city of origin.
I suspect that Kapanskis actually purchased those tickets..
I for one won’t be surprised if in the next couple of weeks we start seeing a lot of new homeless folks in our not vibrant and dynamic downtown.
To give you an illustration of how vibrant, yesterday on North Street, young kid was zipping up the sidewalk on his eBike, it was pretty close to suppertime and watching him one got the sense that this was a kid who was racing home for dinner. In fact he was going at a steady enough clip along the vibrant and dynamic deserted sidewalk that when the owner of the business that was recently egged flew out the door of his store and started screaming after the kid to not to ride on the sidewalk, the kid was already through the lights at the Lantern, and his screaming voice was lost to the wind and heard only by the lone pedestrian on the street.
Same business that had the bench on their side of North Street removed last summer because for about 20 minutes every afternoon the people waiting for the shelter to open would congregate there. And yes the people would smoke cigarettes and be boisterous. For 20 minutes. The one bench in the neighborhood that was in shade for most of the day, and that was used by everybody in the neighborhood, especially the older residents of the fixed-income building on the corner of North and Bradford
You know the corner—the one where the prostitution isn’t happening and hasn’t happened for years, but a local anonymous business owner is claiming in the press that it is, because that’s what blockbusters do.
Wondering though, too, if this anonymous speaker wasn’t trying to falsely inflate property values as much as they were hurling racism towards Yuki, given how many people associate happy ending massage parlors with Asian women.
And the business owner wasn’t just yelling, he was enraged. Apoplectic.
This particular business is building itself quite a record of being unfriendly in the neighborhood. When I was a kid, businesses like that were almost guaranteed to get egged, although we did have the decency to wait until cabbage stalk night.
It’s guys like this that add to the trauma of being homeless and/ or low income, and since we know poverty and other trauma are the driving force behind homelessness, this particular business owner is not going to do well emotionally, or by the community when Pittsfield again accepts Boston’s overflow of undesirables.
The question for the rest of us now is how are we going to bring more me homeless into the area when our current homeless services are non-existent or stressed to the point where they are barely functioning?
Come on man. Do we have a plan for that?

Received a mailing from the Monday Morning Quarterback Club requesting a vote for Chad Shade for inclusion into the area Hall of Fame for great Pittsfield athletes. I voted for Chad because he is a former great Pittsfield athlete.

Chad played football and baseball. He was superb at both. Once I saw Chad in an unusual football play against Adams High School. He was a quarterback for PHS yet was the deep back on kickoff returns. He received the kickoff and went 90 yards for a touchdown. This type of play is very unusual because quarterbacks just don’t receive kickoffs but Chad was so good he not only passed for touchdowns he returned kickoffs for 6 pointers too. His baseball skills were just as good as his football ability.

Chad Sade is deserving of inclusion in Pittsfield’s Hall of Fame. This young man was that good, He has my vote.

No relation. Both were great athletes. Frank has died. Huck lives in Adams and I see him from time to time.He always reminds me of the time I went 0 for 3 against him as he struck me out twice in a PHS – Adams game. Huck was a terrific pitcher. Became a professional pitcher for a few years.

I listened to a Republican politician lay out a 30 minute explanation of why the Democrats expensive plans will destroy our economy and, in fact, are already destroying our economy. He made excellent points, but the highlights were pointing out how the far left puts down the wealthy every chance they get, except for the far left wealthy who are saints, and how they are going to tax the wealthy to the moon, but then you read in the bills all of these tax credits they want to give these same wealthy people, as long as they buy what the Democrats want them to buy, and you see that their plan is a total scam. They give the money back to the wealthy with these tax credits. What the far left wants them to buy to earn the tax credits are undoubtedly what Nancy and her wealthy friends have invested heavily in so they reap the benefits. Total scam.

What will Pelosi and the Marxists want people to invest in? Windmills, electric cars, and anything green energy related. They don’t want the country “on fire” because if that’s what they wanted they would have been happy with the roaring Trump economy. No, what they want is “lowered expectations” for our country. People will be making money like mad, but it won’t be the average person limited to a monthly government check, no, it will be Nancy and her wealthy pals getting even wealthier. President Trump made sure that even people at the lowest rungs of the ladder, were making unprecedented amounts of money. They just had to work, and for many far left Marxists, that is something they do not want to do.

Americans need to lower our expectations according to the far left Marxists. We no longer need to see jackets selling in 15 different colors and lots of products available for us to buy. That’s not what happens in a communist country. We have been spoiled for far too long and AOC says we do not accept change well. In order to make China the top power in the world, we need to lower expectations into being a third world country. AOC will still own her designer clothing and drive expensive vehicles while living in property that she actually owns, isn’t that amazing, but the rest of us, as the serfs in this communist utopia must learn to except change.

Americans must lower expectations of just what our country can offer to them. AOC says that Republicans do not accept change well. The far left Marxists are trying to destroy our country during a pandemic and that’s just the way it is since they are now in power. Under President Trump, the poor and middle class were earning like never before, but the poor want handouts not work according to the Marxists. The baby boomers are retiring in droves, but the money may not be there for retirement for them with all of the illegal immigrants, some 2.5 million planned to come into the country during each year of the Biden administration. Will China need to “accidentally” release another virus from their labs to solve the problem of too many aging boomers taking resources from an America that is in decline?
