HEALEY ISSUES “PIECE ‘O PAPER” ENDORSEMENT OF WRONG WAY; PLANET’S Z-AGENT SPILLS ON BACK-ROOM SLIME

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION, JULY 29-31, 2022 — This week, your next governor, Maura Healey, came to town for some back-door dealing.

Now that Remo’s has been shuttered, its back room no longer accessible, the cement bags have been stacked in another location. That new room is no longer smoke filled and the booze doesn’t flow. These “me too” fascists (hey, we’re only trying to rescue this word to its proper meaning) on the Loon Left dare not show independence of thought. Remember that these are Massachusetts Demoncrats. They believe in free speech and free thought — as long as the words and the groupthink agrees with 100% of their views.

One of our Z-Agents managed a bit of “fly on the wall” intelligence during Healey’s visit.

She’s campaigning hard, Z-12 reports. How hard? She risked life and limb to shoot Third-Thursday baskets with state sen. Adam “Shinola-Coacoanut” Hinds, that fierce defender of hegemony.

Here’s one of Healey’s more meaningful quotes:

“Berkshire County is just a region where people really know how to collaborate and work together and it’s a beautiful part of our state, it’s a region rich with history of innovation, of arts and culture, of possibility,” she said. “But I also know people are hurting here and right now we need to invest in Berkshire County. We need to support investments in housing and transportation and these are things that I think a lot about and then I want to act on and deliver on as governor. I had a great day, touring a lot of Berkshire County today, and sitting with people, listening to people, and learning more about some of what is happening.”

The ipecac, Pepto-Dismal, and Tums are on the house, courtesy of THE PLANET.

After she got done with the meaningless gestures and words, Gov.-elect Healey took about seven seconds to pose for photo with D.A. Wrong Way Harrington, whose lack of campaigning is beginning to more resemble a Rope-a-Dope strategy as we count down to the Sept. 6 preliminary election.

Wrong Way faces one little problem. It goes by the name of attorney Tim Shugrue, who’s all in for the win. Healey, not wanting to risk standing in public with Wrong Way for too long, didn’t dare endorse the court-a-phobe Harrington in person. Nope. Healey’s a progressives progressive, but she’s not stupid. The D.A. has that market cornered.

According to Z-12, Healey refused to anything more than issue a sawdust endorsement statement to the press. A piece of paper. Like the one Chamberlain brought back from Munich in 1939.

Sorta.

———- ooo ———-

The big question surrounding this mysterious campaign: Will Shugrue’s V-A-S-T-L-Y superior track record in C-O-U-R-T, his sterling record both on defense and prosecution, and his openness be enough to counter whatever slime work has been going on in the back room? All we can say at this point, we say directly to Shugrue:

Tim, watch out for the August Surprise. Healey visits the Berks twice in one week? Endorses the D.A. but refuses to do it in person? After Healey allegedly turned down Harrington, who begged her for a job if — “if “– she loses to you? Be on guard.

Statements Say Nothing

Healy’s piece-o’-paper endorsement tout’s Wrong Way’s “commitment to equity, justice, and public safety that we need right now. She’s tackled violent crime, lifted up and protected victims and survivors, and worked to make our criminal justice system fairer for all. I’m proud to endorse her today and look forward to partnering with her in the years ahead.”

Z-12 says Healey refused to make the endorsement in person. You can’ draw your own conclusions from that.

Fittingly, Wrong Way expressed her thanks to Healey … with her own piece of paper.

Loo,, all THE PLANET can do is gather the tea leaves and scatter them in plain view. We leave it to our readers to “read” what they say.

———- ooo ———-

What does Shugrue say to all this?

We publish it in full:

I am perplexed and disappointed by our district attorney’s announcement of her re-election campaign.  I would have expected that she would address the mishandling of her grand jury presentation in the case of the unfortunate foster parents in Adams, causing a judge to dismiss the case, and her unconscionable decision to appeal the judge’s ruling while failing to inform the public of the grounds for her appeal.  But she did not.  I would have expected her to try to explain the sharp uptick in gun violence that has occurred on her watch, as evidenced by the fact that there have been thirteen shootings in Pittsfield since January.  Once again she did not.  I would have hoped that she would attempt to justify her unethical attempt to have a District Court judge barred from sitting on criminal cases in Berkshire County simply because the judge made certain rulings with which the district attorney disagreed.  She failed to do so, obviously because there can be no such justification.  These are only some of the issues that have caused the people of Berkshire County to entertain serious doubts about our district attorney’s competence and integrity, but she chose to provide absolutely no information about those issues.

Instead, the district attorney brought in Congressman Jamie Raskin from Maryland to vouch for her legal abilities and policy preferences.  Congressman Raskin certainly deserves our respect as a result of the excellent work he has done in Washington in recent years.  However, how the congressman deems himself qualified to opine about our district attorney’s performance in office over the last 3 ½ years from hundreds of miles away is a mystery to me, and if he did even the most cursory research he would have concluded that her performance has been disgraceful, to say the least.  Bringing in national figures with no connection to Berkshire County demonstrates that our current district attorney cares more about politics and press coverage than she does about doing her job and prosecuting crime.  It is reminiscent of her decision to weigh in on the controversy involving the mayor of Baltimore after the Freddy Gray shooting, which had nothing to do with Berkshire County but which was designed to fire up those people who she considers to be her base.  This was pandering at its worst.

It also appears that she intends to hold fund raising events outside the county and to accept donations from outsiders who are unaffected by her disastrous stewardship of the district attorney’s office.  This is extremely troubling, as it suggests that she is using her position as a stepping stone to run for higher office.  The vast majority of my contributions have come from people who live and work here in the Berkshires, who do not represent special interests, and who are disgusted by what they have seen from the present administration.  They know that it is time for a change.

In her statement, the district attorney referred to a number of social issues, such as safe housing, high quality health care, access to opportunity, and education.  These are noble aspirations, and I wholeheartedly support the pursuit  of them while also recognizing that the district attorney has no power or authority to implement any of them.  However, what the district attorney fails to understand is that the goals of social justice and effective criminal prosecution are not mutually exclusive.  In fact, they can and often times do complement each other.  For example, many crime victims reside in the areas that the district attorney correctly describes as beset with a history of systemic racism.  If gang bangers, drug traffickers, gun-toting violent criminals, and other purveyors of evil are taken off the street and prosecuted vigorously, the result will be safer housing, more economic opportunity, and a general improvement in the quality of life in those neighborhoods.  The district attorney may think that she owns these issues but she is dead wrong, because I take a back seat to no one in the quest for equality and social justice.

The district attorney claims that she wants to partner with the police and assist them in gathering evidence necessary to secure convictions.  However, the overwhelming majority of active and retired police officers I have met on the campaign trail have told me that they support my candidacy, because they feel disrespected and unappreciated by the district attorney and because they have no faith in her ability to provide them with accurate advice and to prosecute their cases effectively.  If the district attorney believes that she has the support of the law enforcement community, she is deluding herself.

I want to make it abundantly clear that I am not advocating turning back the clock and adopting a “lock ‘em up and throw away the key” approach to criminal justice.  I believe in compassion and second chances.  I know that people who suffer from substance abuse and who are accused of only possession of drugs  need treatment, not jail and I am a fervent supporter of existing statutory diversion programs.   I have been a criminal defense attorney for the last 28 years, and I understand the disastrous consequences an overly zealous prosecution can have on a defendant and his/her family.  I thought many of my clients deserved breaks they did not get, and when I become our next district attorney I will absolutely see to it that people who deserve breaks will get them.

I have been a prosecutor in the past, in both Hampden and Berkshire Counties, and I am now doing defense work.  I have seen both sides, which is helpful in making fair and informed decisions about matters which fall within the district attorney’s discretion.  Unlike our current district attorney, I have tried hundreds of serious felony cases to juries and will be able to hit the ground running on day one.  Also unlike our current district attorney, I want to partner with the police, not alienate them.  I am running to restore competence and integrity to the district attorney’s office.  I am confident that I can do so, and I respectfully ask for the support of voters in the Democratic primary on September 6.

———- ooo ———-

At this point, THE PLANET brings in one of our most prolific readers and commentators, Markus Aurelius, direct from Rome. Mark compiled this PARTIAL list of Wrong Way’s “minister of justice:”accomplishments:

  • Lonnie Durfee, white male, burns two bails of hay. No people/property were in jeopardy of being harmed. Sentence: 2 years in jail.
  • Reymon Delacruz-Batista, Hispanic male (POC), murdered in Pittsfield State Forest 12/5/21. No updates/No suspects in custody.
  • LaQuan Johnson, black male (POC), involved in multiple weapons violations/shootings in Pittsfield. Arrested after being involved in drive-by shooting on Glenwood Avenue on 4/30/2000. Johnson was pled out to 3 years probation.
  • Parth “Peter” Chaudhari, Asian decent (POC), involved in a scam, which included seven states and scammed people out of $300,000. Only 8 months pre-trial confinement. Allowed to voluntarily deport himself after paying back money.
  • Jesus Lugo, Hispanic male, (POC), drive-by shooting from the hood of his GF’s vehicle. Caught after he shot himself in the hand, after running from the police.
  • Edward Jennings, black male, (POC), arrested for murdering Lemond Grady, on North Street, on 4/20/21.
  • Myron Crapps, black male (POC), arrested for shooting a woman on Kent Avenue, 7/14/2020.
  • Tyler Sumner, black male (POC), arrested for shooting/killing Stephanie Olivieri, on 8/25/2019.

Mark goes on to write:

So, based on a quick 10 minute search of recent Berkshire County violent crimes, it brings up quite a few violent crimes.

Of my observation, one man was sent to jail for a nonviolent crime, Lonnie Durfee, and one man, Peter Chaudhari, was allowed to pay restitution with no jail time for another nonviolent crime.

One person of color, Delacruz-Batista, was murdered with no suspect information, no updates from Wrong Way’s Office. Should the public be scared? Alarmed? On the look out for a suspect/suspects? An update Wrong Way would be nice.

That leaves the other five, all people of color, charged with violent crimes/shootings.

So, from Wrong Way’s statement and my quick research, it would suggest that Wrong Way is truly is a “minister of justice.” That is if you’re a white male, you get punished to the fullest extent of the law. If you’re a person of color, you can commit violent crimes and Wrong Way will begin the defendants mitigation process immediately, to lessen any sentence that person of color might have to serve.

This is actually the role of a defense attorney, but hey, Berkshire County voted for this imbecile. She can’t even drive down a one way street legally with a valid driver’s license, but yet we expected her to know the job of DA?

If you enjoy the notoriety of Pittsfield becoming the Springfield of the North, with the shootings and violent crimes, then re-elect the “minister of justice.”

I’d rather have the late, great, “Minister of Defense,” Reggie White, as our DA, rather than Wrong Way.

THE PLANET also shares this, from Legal Eagle.

Yes the Minister of Justice of “minimizing harm.” Let’s go with that. Was harm minimized when Andrea Harrington:

  • Allowed the attempted murder of a baby to go unpunished due to Harrington’s failure to provide witnesses?
  • Violated rules of professional conduct by calling for the removal of our Chief Justice of District Court based on hearsay, without reviewing available evidence?
  • Repeatedly blocked the release of public records resulting in the whistleblower resignation of a public records officer (Attorney Jeanne Kempthorne)?
  • Failed to deliver an iota of justice after a racially motivated violent crime hoax at Simon’s Rock? It was the DA’s weeks of foot dragging, lack of leadership and ultimate failure to deliver justice that caused damage to our community’s efforts to combat racism.
  • Allowed multiple murders, rapists and assailants to be acquitted or have charges dropped due to her office’s incompetence?

We could go on, but the arrogance has made us sick.

———- ooo ———-

As we said, the ipecac, Pepto, and Tums are on the house.

Have a great weekend, everybody.

Why? Predictable ongoing attacks against Berkshire County District Attorney Andrea Harrington on this blog that have been more about maligning her than about the facts. Some of what was written on this blog about Andrea Harrington has led me to write my apologies to her for the horrible things said about her on this blog – i.e., “she kills babies”, her and other D.A.s like her and their progressive policies led to the Uvalde, Texas shooting incident, she takes orders from the likes of George Soros, and so on – because blogger Dan Valenti and his likeminded blog posters will never do so. You should all be very ashamed of yourselves for all of your horrible attacks against Andrea Harrington. I have written blogger Dan Valenti political emails whereby I made a number of counterpoints to his unfavorable writings about Andrea Harrington and the increase in violent crime in Berkshire County, especially that daily shootings in inner-city Pittsfield that are mostly caused by the over 1,000 gang members who live there. I did not receive a response, nor did he post my list of counterpoints on his blog. Rather, blogger Dan Valenti posts anonymous posters’ written lists of criticisms of Andrea Harrington brief tenure as D.A. on his blog. Lastly, once again, I request that Tim Shugrue please list both his successes and failures as an Attorney in Berkshire County instead of him only listing Andrea Harrington’s mistakes as District Attorney over the past 3 years and nearly 7 months.

I just got off the phone with Tim Shugrue.

He told me he will list every success and failure he has had as an attorney, but he wants you to first:

(1) list every job you’ve had in the last 15 years?
(2) where and for what cause you volunteered your time and efforts in the last 15 years?

Sound good? Balls in your court. We all await….

Blogger Dan Valenti & his likeminded blog posters are all unconscionable for their ongoing malicious attacks against D.A. Andrea Harrington.  She does not kill babies.  She and likeminded D.A.s’ progressive policies did not lead to the Uvalde, Texas shooting incident.  She does not take money from George Soros and the like.  All of you should be ashamed of yourselves and all of you should apologize to her for maligning her over and over again on this blog.  All of you sound like immature bullies who take great pleasure by being conflictual, abusive and mean-spirited against Andrea Harrington.  Please stick to the facts concerning her 3 year and nearly 7-month brief tenure as the sitting Berkshire County D.A.  Also, I have volunteered my time at the animal shelter and the VA Hospital.  I have always given my money to charitable causes.  I am a law-abiding citizen and disabled Veteran who served our country honorably.  I will happily list my personal failures after Tim Shugrue publicly lists his professional failures as an Attorney in the beautiful Berkshires.  Isn’t all too easy to criticize those you dislike, but it becomes very difficult to list your own failures.  Unless Tim Shugrue is perfect – yeah right! – then he should list his failures along with him listing Andrea Harrington’s mistakes.  Lastly, it is a lot easier to be against something – such as Hitler’s persecution of the Jewish People that led to the Holocaust – than to be for something – such as Human Rights for All people and Peoples in the world.

I just finished and sent a letter to Andrea F. Nuciforo Jr. to offer my apologies to him for the horrible things said about him on your
own blog that have been more about made up bs than about the all the facts. The horrible things said about him on your blog led me to send it, because blogger Jonathan “Vindman” Melle and his likeminded 2 blog posters will never do so.You should be very ashamed of yourself for all of your horrible attacks against Andrea.

Oooh there’s a video! Andrea Harrington is a real leader. You must be so proud!

Leaders who know they have no trial skills do not insist on trying a shooting case to satisfy their ego, then lose it!
Leaders don’t race blame cops without evidence!
Leaders don’t ignore fake race hate crimes.
Leaders don’t lock alcoholics up for burning a sign!
They don’t punish people because they don’t like their politics!
They’re don’t go after them because they’re fat or unlikeable.
Leaders don’t promise not to hold people in jail then lock them up as “dangerous.”
Leaders don’t blame their employees for their own f$ck&ps!
Leaders don’t make inflated claims about their experience or accomplishments!
Leaders don’t attack judges!
Leaders don’t attack federal prosecutors because they indicted their friend!

Dennis likes to espouse his racist views too. Remember during the Miguel Estrada shooting, Dennis ran to the Eagle to proclaim that the police probably got “nervous because he (Estrada) was a large POC.”

Dennis didn’t know a single fact of this case, but immediately projected race into it. It didn’t matter to Dennis that Miggy advanced towards the officers with a large knife, over 40 yards (120 feet), while ignoring multiple commands to drop the knife. It was all about race, right Denny?

Shirley, our esteemed “cultural proficiency coach,” has (1) gone on city paid “black teachers recruiting” trips to North Carolina, (2) received over $500,000 ARPA money for her ROPE program, (3) part of a group with Warren Dews, Flat Tyer’s admin assistants husband, that received $700,000 ARPA money, as part of the Berkshire Black Economic Council (BBEC), to create black owned businesses.

To date, they have had one event, in South County, in which keynote speakers told the sparse crowd, they needed everything black. Black businesses, black entertainment venues, etc. Nothing about how to create a business or the steps to run a successful business, just hat in hand, bent at the knees, looking for more taxpayer money from gullible white fools.

No statements about curbing the gun violence being perpetrated by young black males from Dennis or Shirley. Lord knows they have plenty of money and resources to try.

I made that post on The Planet, prior to anyone being arrested.

Part of that post, was to show that the “transparency” that DA Andrea “Wrong Way” Harrington, touts in her pressers, is as much bullsh!t as her “racially biased policing stats in Berkshire County,” that we still await.

Well that, and of course the reason why the black female was never criminally charged in the Simon Rock College kidnapping/racial hoax, that caused panic and fear in every white male college student. You know, those “victims” Andrea always claims to represent.

She may well play the Miggy card but what voters would she be reaching out to? Not everyone votes or even knows what elections are OR cares. It is possible that those that use and need the police the most are not the ones that leave the house on election day. I am talking Pittsfield here. Unless someone actively gathers and transports the gang bangers crowd to the polls the effect may be minimal. Just a thought.

80 or more percent of Harringtons funding comes from rich people at the gaming commission, software companies, lawyers, politically connected. Where is the coverage of this by media? The Kapanskis know nothing about it. Why is it being kept from them?

The property manager (ringmaster) has all the identifying information he needs to cast votes for the people who stay home.

I went to vote in Town and my name was already crossed out as if I had voted already, but I had not.

One household member has received the voter mailing but I did not receive mine. We are both registered at the same address.

Why can’t the smart people who govern in MA pass a law for voter ID? What are they hiding? It seems to be the only common sense thing to do to squelch talk of voter booth stuffing so why won’t they do it?

Tricia Farley-Country Buffet (D-illegal immigrants) did just get a law pass for voting ID’s.

It’s called the “Work and Family Mobility Act.” It will give every citizen in MA, both legal and illegal, an ID and a chance to vote. Sometimes even, multiple chances to vote.

I agree M/B. I stated weeks ago on here, this will be her “Hail Mary” attempt at stirring her base, to criminally charge Officer Sondrini with murder/manslaughter.

What is there to “edit?” And why was it not being edited along the way? This case is over 4 months old. The stall tactics are very concerning. If I were Officer Sondrini, I’d be speaking to an attorney ASAP. Get your ducks in a row my friend.

I have a bad feeling her presser next week will coincide with Sondrini’s arrest. Then, DA Wrong Way will have all the usual’s there: Dennis, Shirley, every POS POC in this city-her base.

Helen “Handgun” Moon would be there, if not for their falling out. But you can rest assured, Handgun will be applauding from afar. A white cop getting (wrongfully) arrested. That’s like winning the lottery to a low character person like Helen.

The crime rate in the Berkshires is the direct result of Andrea Harrington’s failures. I hope the police association pickets this press conference. Regardless of the decision, Harrington has abandoned law enforcement. She has repeatedly failed to prosecute repeat offenders or let them off with plea bargains and reduced sentences. While Harrington takes junkets to Portugal, Alabama and California the community and its police are left to pick up the pieces. Picket her! Vote her out!

Frank Rinaldi, 52, of Pittsfield, had been held in custody while his drug case was pending in Berkshire Superior Court, but was ordered released from custody over the objection of the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office.

These criminals are douche’s and are slow slow learner’s,they are not getting the message. Why not? Because society isn’t sending it. Lock these POS’s up, lock them up for a long, long time. But I do agree with you. Lifeguards would be ARPA money well spent. Instead, it goes to grifters and race baiters.

The point I was making, is spending ARPA money on lifeguards is money well spent when you consider the alternative. Giving hundreds of thousands of ARPA money to Shirley Edgerton (city employee) and Warren Dews (wife is mayor Flat Tyer’s admin assistant), in violation of state conflict of interest laws…..but nothing to see here, move along.

To summarise, Maura Healey endorsed Andrea Harrington who had no experience as a prosecutor, to prosecute criminals in one of the most crime-ridden cities in Massachusetts. Three and half years later, Andrea Harrington still has no experience as a prosecutor and has repeatedly exhibited that her incompetence knows no bounds. Crime is significantly worse, yet Maura Healey endorsed Andrea Harrington again. Something is wrong with Maura Healey.

Sorry for the inconvenience poor and working class folks, but the only people the leftists are looking after are the wealthy and the indoctrinated school personnel. Harrington’s endorsement from Healey is getting more attention here than anywhere. She got 15 likes on social media, half of them family and employees. The comments say it all: “Neither one has done anything good for Berkshire county or the state” and “Bunch of crooked politicians supporting each other.”

The winner: Bobby Sullivan: Andrea Harrington is refusing to debate DA Candidate Tim Shugrue. She’s running scared and hoping to disguise her ineptitude by talking about national issues that have no relevancy to her position. Also, an endorsement from Healey means Healey has zero touch on what matters to my fellow Berkshire County residents. Keep that in mind folks. Politics can be brutal and the victim is always the local community.

I remember when PPD officer Darren Cowell ran a red light at the corner of North and Depot Street and caused an accident, sending the driver of the vehicle Cowell struck to hospital with injuries. I think it was a young woman who had the right of way when officer Cowell slammed into her. I also remember when PPD officer Najimy collided with several parked vehicles on Orchard Street just before he slammed his taxpayer funded cruiser into the iron fence at the old jail on Second Street. Excuses were manufactured for both of cops. But I digress, if I’m not mistaken, doesn’t a violent knife wielding road rage criminal own the dilapidated neglected ramshackle dump formerly known as Johnny’s Beach Club at 87 Wahconah Street, where 24-year-old David Moody was caught on video putting a handgun into his pants after a 20-year-old “non-active” member of the Crips gang was shot and seen limping out of the bar? Correct me if I’m wring.

Harmony’s dump has the distinction of also being the former site of Pepe’s nightclub for criminals.

Barcelona Tapas & Bar to Begin Renovations of Pittsfield Building /iberkshires – February 25, 2020

“Owners Harmony Edwards Persip and Tanya Edwards said they will serve food with a kitchenette but also plan to partner with an incoming business that makes pre-made food.”

“Campoli was not sure if the kitchenette qualified as a kitchen and Edwards added that the prior owners did not serve any food.”

“The owners indicated that they do still plan that if they cannot sell after the renovations, they would open up the restaurant in some capacity to keep the alcohol license paired with the establishment while making the business attractive to potential a buyer.”

To date, renovations to the best of my knowledge have never been started under the new owners. Curiouser still, is that I also read that the owners received a $250,000 loan from family……

“It did result in the arrest of Pittsfield Police officer William Zoitos and his wife, who authorities alleged had allowed their home and phones to be used for registering bets.”

“These profits fueled the booming narcotics trade, which by them was firmly established as the mafia’s most lucrative enterprise and left ample funds for exerting influence over law enforcement and political figures.”

“In early 1986, one such bar in particular was the site of a police sting that sent major ripples through the community. On Jan. 11, the three-member SIU conducted a raid on the Beer Garden on Wahconah Street, during which then City Council President Angelo C. Europe is predicting starvation because the green energy policies are saying that agriculture is bad and destroys the climate. Yes, people will die, but these power mad Fascists want total control over our lives. They want us dependent on them for our every need. It’s nice to see this fine citizen journalist has taken the time to report this disturbing information.

To the editor: I am supporting attorney Timothy J. Shugrue for district attorney because I consider the administration of Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington to be a complete failure.
Tim clearly outshines the present DA in every meaningful category, including experience, competence and integrity. This left me wondering how Ms. Harrington could even be competitive in a race against such an obviously superior candidate as Tim Shugrue.
In an attempt to answer that question, I examined the public records of the Office of Campaign and Political Finance. What I found was truly revealing.
From Oct. 3, 2021, through July 10 of this year, Ms. Harrington has raised $44,635 in reported contributions. Of that, only $17,665 came from people residing in Berkshire County. This means that more than 60 percent of her contributions have come from politically connected individuals who live outside Berkshire County and, in many cases, who live out of state.
Ms. Harrington has accepted money from persons such as Joseph Curatone, the former mayor of Sommerville; Stephen Crosby, the former chair of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission in Boston; and Angela Davis, a law professor at American University in Washington, D.C.
Additionally, she has received contributions from people who reside in Boston, Cambridge, Pittsburgh, Minneapolis, Denver and San Francisco.
By contrast, according to those same records, the vast majority of Tim Shugrue’s contributions, amounting to approximately $72,000, have come from people who live and work in Berkshire County.
So why would the incumbent district attorney be having so much difficulty attracting financial support from Berkshire County residents? I think the answer is that local people have witnessed Ms. Harrington’s performance over the last four years and are unimpressed and disappointed, to say the least.
It is time for a change, and I urge everyone who cares about criminal justice to join me in voting for Tim Shugrue for DA in the Democratic primary on Sept. 6.

Too complex to sum up in one sentence.

Example are the Cuomos. The father amassed great power and loses to Pataki. Then sons become powerful and corrupt from what – Andrew bickering with Greene (?) How is that? Clearly not strictly term limits. The quote from Acton’s quote is best – power corrupts. How does not matter.

Yet leaders in council, state, fed just keep talking about fresh powers: my judges, no filibuster, kill charter objection, more inspectors, drivers licenses – let’s give them to this group too (don’t ask voters.) They drive power.

This type of fundraising is known as “double bundling.” A lobbyist, PAC or fundraiser collects on behalf of a committee – say, Maura Healey – and simultaneously collects on behalf of an associate – say, Andrea Harrington. It is a way that a candidate can benefit from or be influenced by special interests even if that candidate is of no interest to the contributors. It is legal in Massachusetts, but subject to restrictions. Andrea Harrington’s bundling of contributions by Maura Healey’s finance director to collect funds from outside Berkshire County should have been investigated long ago. But I’m sure she is banking on the fact that no one will.

Get a year in jail for torching a hay bail. Get probation for serious arson trying to score a $750,000 insurance payout. Minister of Justice Harrington strikes again!

PITTSFIELD — An 86-year-old man pleaded guilty Thursday to setting ablaze the site of his former “Wonderful Things” yarn store in south county last summer. He was sentenced to two years of probation and fined $5,000.
Harry Sano Jr. admitted in Berkshire Superior Court to charges he set fire to 232 Stockbridge Road in Great Barrington on July 7, 2021.
Sano set the blaze, Assistant District Attorney Joseph Yorlano said, while a sale was pending to a buyer who planned to tear down the structure.
A $750,000 insurance claim was filed for the fire, Yorlano said, signed by Sano’s wife. But the prosecutor said there’s no evidence that Sano’s wife of 62 years knew what her husband had done — believing he had gone to the library the day of the fire.

This should have been kept quiet if she was going, but it was leaked. If Trump had pushed on with this trip after this direct threat from China, the leftists would be planning another impeachment. The leftists are even preparing us for nuclear war now with all of these announcements about what to do if a nuclear threat is imminent. These people are shameless.

Chinese State media (like US state media) says all sorts of ridiculous things. Pelosi is their friend not mine afterall.

It’s not the threat that they may shoot that is impressive, it’s that they demonstrate that they can say they will that is impressive. It is said to show what the USA cannot or will not do in response. Such as – organanize a global embargo in response to murdering a state representative premediated.

Nope. Didn’t hear that response….

It should be intolerable, but we hear silence from our government about this threat. Oh, don’t worry about it they say. Pelosi will be flying with lots of protection, but we know that shooting down her plane would set us up for war with China.

The point, Pat, is that they are flaunting their capacity to provoke. Kim Y OO did same until Trump sent the Seventh Fleet (that which the Admirals didn’t smash up and let burn and the others allowed to rust into the sea) to his borders. Obviously Trump was bluffing because we don’t have a navy anymore really, but Kim wasn’t taking a chance.

Trump has the element of unpredictability and that made all of these dangerous countries question what he would do next so that was a good thing. Biden is so predictable that they know he will not even respond to their threats which is unbelievable for an American President to stay silent when China says they will shoot down an American politician’s plane if she goes to Taiwan.

Years ago, there was a bomb shelter under 100 North Street. But it wouldn’t surprise me if one or more of Pittsfield’s corrupt mayors used FREE taxpayer cash to turn it into a Den of Depravity, an East coast Bohemian Grove hidden underground for Pittsfield’s illustrious deviants and visiting dignitaries where they devise plots to steal off more and more money from the taxpayers. After all, Bianchi got away with funneling millions of tax $$$$$$$$$$$$$ into the privately owned 100 North Street property under the specious argument that the air in city hall was unhealthy for city employees, to work in, but not unhealthy for the same city employees to work-out in during their free time while on the taxpayer’s clock. And you must be kidding if you’re expecting clarity from either of those dirty peters, one is a grossly obese gasbag moron, and the other is foody simpleton, a lifelong passenger on the short bus.

You may be right. I don’t know much about Taiwan/China security policies. I just know that United States presidents have been sneaking into countries, especially countries at war, for some time, and they tend to not announce that they are on their way until they are already there or even after. We see video of them, but they may have already left the country hours before the video is shown of their visit.

Why is Washington Mayor (Bow Wow) Bowser so upset because illegals are being bussed to her region of the country? She wants the National Guard called in. It’s a humanitarian crisis, but it wasn’t a humanitarian crisis when Texas kept telling the Biden administration that they needed help, that Texas had a humanitarian crisis. Now the protesters are coming out against Bowser for saying there is no sanctuary in Bowser’s city for the illegals. Washington doesn’t need the illegals. That’s the real reason they don’t want them there. Washington is already heavily Democratic so the illegals are just a nuisance to the wealthy Democrats in that upscale area. The far left wants to bus the illegals into places like swing states to influence the vote and Texas of course since they have been trying to flip that state blue for years.

I hope Tim Shugrue has a person or two keeping an eye out on Pittsfield City Hall on election night.

Tim doesn’t want or need Pittsfield’s toughest vigilante, Barry Tyer, winding up at city hall and opening the wrong door again. Only to end up in the same room where the ballots are being counted. Just like he did during the last mayoral election.

Barry said it was just an honest mistake. He was only a multi term city councilor and hubby to the multiple term mayor, Flat Tyer. Not to mention, dared to patrol the parking lot alone at 3AM, at the Cumby’s on First Street. How can we not trust the guy?

I believe Barry as much as I do Ricky Rumpus, when he claims the unneeded rotary on Tyler Street was designed and built properly.

Exactly. Why does Tyer feel she has to be the one to build a brand new stadium? Right now with inflation so high the costs of materials will be astronomical. Only a freakin idiot would think this was a good time to build a stadium. That stadium is critical to NOTHING in Pittsfield that cannot wait a couple of years. Shut it down and wait it out. The only reason Flat Tyer would want to build a stadium in this economy, is for the financial gain….I mean, for the children, of course.

From all indications, she is done after this term. What better way to guarantee yourself a huge financial windfall, in the terms of “Christmas gifts,” “farewell gifts,” “parties,” the list of possibilities for Flat to be well taken care of are endless.

I guess the next question is, what city park will Flat Tyer deicide to destroy next? She could always build it on the former GE property. After a few weeks playing there, the players might start losing hair and develop numerous medical conditions, but hey, “It’s for the children.”

And what are the odds the Berkshire Black Economic Council will have a financial hand in the new stadium deal? And by financial, I mean not using any of their ARPA money, but will be “paid consultants.”

I bet the current owner will finance at least half of the deal. A sure sign of laundering money.

On Friday, a sale of the mall property for $8 million was recorded. The seller was Durga Property Holdings Inc., which has owned the mall since 2019. The buyer is Mehran Namiri-Kalantari of Santa Monica, Calif., according to records filed with the Northern Berkshire Registry of Deeds.

Harrington is good at making deceptive statements that include some element of truth.

Example: Her signs say “Democrat” to imply that the other guy is not.

Cops and prosecutors lie on TV and that is Harrington’s core experience with the law.

Scared? You should be. This is what Harrington did to the grand jury:

“The judge chastised the DA’s office for introducing evidence to grand jurors he said had little, or nothing, do with the Tuckers’ alleged culpability in the infant’s death, but was instead “intended simply to portray them as angry and inept foster parents.”
“This is not the standard of conduct the court expects from the Commonwealth in grand jury proceedings,” Agostini wrote.”

This is “work” that Andrea Harrington did herself with the help of her hire, Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Ilberg-Lamm. If you are comfortable with a DA’s office that is comfortable using improper character attacks then you get what you deserve. I’m voting ABA.

Any chance we could rename Pittsfield’s motto, from “Benigno Numine,” Italian translation: Benign Power, to a more apt name? A name more fitting of the Linda “Flat” Tyer Administration.

I was thinking of a simple one worded motto, like Praeiudicium, Italian translation: Conflict of Interest.

Another one. Nilan states he’s been a member of the parks commission over forty years? And forty years the ball yard and it’s parking lot nightmare has been in despair ie flooding. So,your going to make millions in repair or millions in a new stadium on a ongoing decades of flooding? And if it is possible, which it isn’t, your talking millions in dredging to begin with and certainly the Army Core of Engineers would have to brought in.You can’t divert the flooding to someone else’s property, and that’s what you be doing if that attempt was made to divert.

Hello blogger Dan Valenti,

I support Andrea Harrington for reelection in 2022 for Berkshire County District Attorney. You have the right to free speech, as well as the right to recurringly publicly denounce Berkshire County District Attorney Andrea Harrington, who is a progressive politician. I support your writings when you use facts to support your arguments against her 2022 reelection campaign. However, I do not support it when you write that you will be the first one to piss on her grave after she would be defeated by challenger Tim Shugrue, who is also a Democrat, but on a moderate level.

While you and many other blog posters write unfavorable criticisms against D.A. Andrea Harrington, I often wonder as to why you don’t ask Tim Shugrue to write a list of both his successes and failures as a career Attorney in Berkshire County. To illustrate, think of it as a baseball player’s statistics that include both his hits and strikeouts.

Someone on your blog pointed out that I have written and blogged about my over 26 yearlong negative history with Andrea F. Nuciforo, Jr. to criticize me for defending D.A. Andrea Harrington on your blog. Nuciforo has been a mean-spirited bully to me and my family without him ever owning up to his hurtful actions that spans from the Spring of 1996 when I was 20 years old to the Summer of 2022 when I am currently 47 years old. I feel I have to write and blog about Nuciforo to defend myself. It also helps me to have the peace of mind he has taken from me for so long to let people out there know my side of the story. My hope is that my writings and blog postings about Nuciforo ensure that he will never be elected to political office again. Thank you for taking the time to read my recurring political emails about Nuciforo, who is also sarcastically called “Luciforo”.

Best wishes,

Jonathan A. Melle

Why are we not surprised to see Andrea Harrington flinging around terms like “right wingers” in the district attorneys campaign?

When San Francisco voters, the most liberal Democrat voters in the nation, voted to remove the Harrington-endorsed Chesa Boudin, the “Fair and Just” prosecutors movement blamed conservative funding and a right-wing narrative on crime. They claimed “This is a Republican- and police union-led playbook to undermine and attack progressive prosecutors.” This was a lie In the last election for DA the Harrington campaign directly contacted voters by email to tell them that Harrington’s opponent was a “registered Republican.” This was a lie.

The rise of the Prosecutor Politician’ in Berkshire County under Andrea Harrington is a terrible development. How can justice ever be served when one group insists they are right and everyone else is crazy? One need only look at Lonnie Durfee, the Dalton man who got a year in jail for torching a Biden sign. Remember when Andrea Harrington threatened Melissa Mazzeo with political blowback if she didn’t support her in the upcoming district attorney’s election? Remember how she got elected based on false claims that people of color were being targeted by police? Remember her policies that were designed to appeal to voters by copying national trends like “ending mass incarceration” that have no relevance here?

Harrington is and always will be a purely political animal because she is out solely for one thing – Harrington. The district attorney is supposed to serve justice with fairness for all. Politics was long ago described as “art of compromise.” This was supposed to mean that elected officials would meet and develop policies that all constituents can accept. Harrington destroyed the “all” in justice for all. Now we have one of the most important elected officials in the county motived by far left politics, careerism and most alarmingly, vengeance. If a political and vindictive District Attorney does not terrify you I don’t know what would. Harrington has shown she can and will charge people simply because of political motivations. She has shown she can spare dangerous defendants because of her political ties to an outside group. I’m at a loss as to how much more evidence the public needs to use our collective votes to be rid of Andrea Harrington.

Rumor Has it the commission will entertain a suggestion making one of the hotdog stand vestibules and name it Charlie G so that he can spin some of his sports stories there while all games are being played,Nader water.

Is it me our are the bats corked in major leagues? Am I the only one hearing this? Listen to when contact is made. It doesn’t sound natural.

I’m watching area TV this afternoon and was pleased to hear a newly appointed committee has been formed to study renovating Wahconah Park. I was not pleased to hear recommendations by Pittsfield officials have been made before the committee has officially met. What the new committee is really asked to do is approve what city hall officials have already decided on. They are asked to approve, with suggestions, if necessary. to make it look good, The 10 million for improvements to the parking lot and plumbing is not connected to the grandstand. The 10 million does not include necessary work on redirecting the river so flooding is not a future problem. So here’s the point: 10 million is the minimum that will be spent on this job that no longer hosts local games, has nothing to with Pittsfield youngsters playing there, and will not attract a pro team because those days are long gone and no leagues are interested in relocating here. There are no pro leagues in this area. Our glory days are long gone. We have let the park rot, we have let North Street rot, We destroyed West Street and its 5 restaurants, we have bicycle lanes where cars used to motor looking for parking spaces to shop. Now we are talking about spending 10 Million dollars – at a minimum – to renovate a park we don’t even play high school football games anymore.

The fix is in……if the river is redirected what will that do to downstream abuters?

I thought removing the mill st dam was supposed to solve the flooding.

I thought the flooding was going to stop when they tore down the dam? According to the weatherman, oops sorry, weatherpeople, we are in a drought so there should be even less water at the park, I was in the park last year and no soft s[pots in the grandstand. I think pictures would have made their argument but without them first and all of a sudden everyone is talking new park it seems a bit rigged….but that’s the Pitts isn’t it?
