On Monday October 3, 2022 at approximately 3:31 pm, members of the Pittsfield Police Department (PPD) responded to Springside Avenue near the intersection of Parker Street for a ShotSpotter activation. Several residents also called to report a shooting. Responding officers arrived on scene and confirmed that there were no reported injuries. Several buildings on Springside Avenue had been struck by gunfire and shell casings were recovered nearby.
The Pittsfield Police Department takes all reports of gunfire seriously. Daytime shootings, however, in residential neighborhoods with children present cannot be tolerated. These shots were fired at a time when many schoolchildren were getting off busses and walking to their homes. These acts are unacceptable and we would urge anyone with information and/or video surveillance to contact police. These four positions weave such a tangle of conflict as to make the Gordian Knot look like “one, two tie my shoe.” If Kerwood doesn’t come to his senses and doesn’t refuse the appointment, there’s likelihood he will be acting criminally with every directive he issues involving city finances, taxes, treasury, and assessments. Does the city want to risk that, with a new administration coming in after the November elections in 2023?
The mayor is still spreading the fiction that she’ll be running. THE PLANET reiterates what we said a few weeks ago. She won’t be.
Flat’s going to hold off her announcement until the last possible moment in hopes of keeping other candidates wondering and perhaps unwilling to declare without the mayor making her announcement — which is just what she wants.
Fruit Loops Harrington tried a similar tactic in the D.A. preliminary. Tim Shugrue, however, wasn’t playing defense. He announced early and sent a message, one that caused Wrong Way to pee her panties.

This next bit is supposed to be secret, so don’t tell anyone you know. Flat’s plan is to wait until doomsday and then announce she’s not running. That will set into motion a fixed process where council president Peter Marchetti will be anointed as Heir to the Throne.

Of course, only one member of the Pittsfield city council questioned the wisdom of the mayor’s “request” to approve Kufflinks to his FOURTH city position. That would be Charles Kronick, Ward 2 councilor and by far the star performer on this version of The Usual Gang of Idiots.
Once more, Sir Charles delivered on his oath.
Pittsfield hasn’t seen the like of Chaz since Peter Arlos stood for office. Kronick’s steadfast philosophy of government celebrates the ideals of the Founders. He not only believes but acts as if We The People own the government and not the other way around.
Is Sir Charles the spark that lights the explosion that finally drives the crooks out of office and encourages better candidates to run and win in 2023?
One final note: MATT KERWOOD MUST RESIGN, IMMEDIATELY.

What difference does it make if Matt Kerwood (illegally) runs every financial board in Pittsfield? Pittsfield politics is the most predictable thing in the world if not the Universe when it comes to the city’s decades of excessive spending on top of its huge debts/liabilities that will never be paid off in our lifetimes. Matt Kerwood has continued to overtax the fictional Mary Jane & Joe Kapanski family and the small business they shop at in Pittsfield. Mayor Linda Tyer calls Pittsfield politics Vibrant and Dynamic, but we all know that the Kapanskis pay high taxes in return for Level 5 public schools and inner-city streets that are full of violent crime and home to the over 1,000 gang members who call Pittsfield home. Matt Kerwood is known for his multimillion-dollar Slush Fund$, his Kufflinks and Hair Plugs, and his CPA, which stands for Creative Public Accountant. In about 6 months from now, there will be a brutal economic recession. Matt Kerwood will Cook the Books (again) so that Pittsfield politics can continue to spend money like the winner of a large Powerball lottery jackpot. When Mayor Linda Tyer proposes her would-be final municipal budget next Spring of 2023, Matt Kerwood will say to Ward 2 City Councilor Charles Ivar Kronick, “What recession? This is Pittsfield and I am like the Easter Bunny with an unlimited amount of Easter eggs!”

Take a look at the resume of the anointed AG Andrea Campbell. She has about as much relevant skills and experience to become AG as lampylousy had when she got handed her job in the DAs office by Harrington – also through a Healey handoff. What’s the difference between someone who gets a job they’re unqualified for by way of the “old boys network” and these diversity candidates who are also qualified to do anything? Simply hiring a minority to check a diversity box is not only wrong but probably illegal.

In MassLive they have an article about the tax refund the state is required to send back to the taxpayers because the state has too much money in their(our) coffers. The Woke/DIE crowd is complaining because the poor won’t be getting a cut. Even after it’s explained that the refund is going back to the people who paid income tax and the poor get their money then because they don’t pay a income tax they get money back. What a Give Me generation. What happened to the JFK Democrats who stated don’t ask what the government can do for you but what you can do for the country!!

Dan, I would like to nominate Shirley Edgerton for a COIN award. I think Shirley is more than deserving of a newly minted COIN. Let’s look at her accomplishments:
*Is a City of Pittsfield Public School employee
*Is a “cultural diversity coach,” whatever than means?
*Received a combined amount of $1,250,000 ARPA money (ROPES & BBEC)
*Sits on the executive board (BBEC) that she also “consults” for
*Took a family trip to Africa with part of the ARPA money to “explore her roots.”
*Consulted for a black dance troupe for the BBEC
*Hasn’t addressed the gun violence caused by young black males
*Hasn’t used the ARPA gift to benefit the Westside, that doesn’t benefit her financially.
These accomplishments would make Shirley a summa cue laude COIN recipient.
Make I also suggest a yearly Wrong Way award? Wrong Way Harrington too earned her place in The Plant’s pantheon. Maybe a future unemployed knave egomaniac rejected (FUKER) award?

These criminals have the run of the city,state police should perform surveillance checks… the criminals aren’t afraid of the mayor or her administration, too many drinking coffee at Allen Street,ppd should be walking the beat in the West side and Morningside neighborhood areas.

Sarcasm: I asked Mayor Linda Tyer and Matt Kerwood if they would pay a large sum of their money for Level 5 public schools and inner-city streets plagued by violent crime. They replied by saying that is their legacy in Pittsfield politics. I then asked them why they continue to support the 24-year-old PEDA debacle with its millions of dollars in always increasing debts and liabilities. They replied that it pales in comparison to Pittsfield’s hundreds of millions of dollars in municipal debts and other liabilities. Lastly, I asked them why they dislike differing viewpoints from Ward 2 City Councilor Charles Ivar Kronick and other taxpaying activists. They told me that Pittsfield politics should be run by the same provincial group of out-of-touch top-down insiders so that “Business as usual” will ensure that grassroots democracy will always be suppressed, and the fictional Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski family will always be conditioned to always bend over and take it while “Rome burns”. I thought I was in an episode of “The Twilight Zone”, but then I remembered that I grew up in Pittsfield, and that Pittsfield politics will never change for the better, but I also feel sorry for the people who live in Naples, Florida and beyond right now – and not just because Pittsfield’s Godfather Jimmy Ruberto is a full-time resident of the Sunshine State.
Sir Charles wrote an excellent Letter to the Editor in the Eagle today. Here it is for those who can’t see it:
To the editor: In the Sept. 27 City Council meeting, the mayor nominated Finance Director Matthew Kerwood to the Board of Assessors.
The conflict of interests in this appointment is evident, but what this appointment indicates is that the mayor and the appointee Kerwood both are engaging in profoundly poor judgment. The appointee currently oversees the city’s finance, treasurer’s and tax departments. Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 41, Section 24 prohibits assessors from serving as tax collectors. Beyond the law, there are best practices that state that financial, tax and treasurer are always separated. It is not that one person cannot perform all functions; it is generally that one ought not do so.
The separation of financial oversight, which is virtually mandated in private business, logically extends to governance of property owners and taxpayers generally. That director Kerwood is currently directing finance and treasury is an artifact that dates back to the prior administration and does not originate from him or the mayor. However, the mayor’s decision to now further conflate oversight of the tax department with the Board of Assessors is a terrible abuse of common sense, legal sense and financial sense. The problem now unfortunately extends to the appointee, Kerwood.

Charles Kronick is an asset to our city council. Thank you Councilor Kronick for your support of the citizens of Pittsfield.
I certainly hope sir charles forwarded a copy of this letter to the State Ethics Commission along with his formal complaint of this terrible abuse of taxpayers. Kerwood is just another one of LIAR TYER’s filthy unethical Hyenas. Every SHITTY unethical city councilor goon who approved this unethical appointment of a LIAR TYER HYENA needs to be forcibly removed from the city council. Their taxpayer funded $10,000 PLUS stipends should be STOPPED immediately. None of them should receive any further monies from the taxpayers, and ALL MONIES they’ve received thus far should be clawed back from these filthy HYENAS. Kerwood’s salary should be freezed and he should be removed from every city position he unethically holds. Every time Kerwood is publicly asked about city financial matters he NEVER has an answer, he always allegedly has to get back to the whom ever asked the question, and it’s NEVER answered in public, if it’s even answered, ever. Pittsfield’s city solicitor is another one, whatever he’s asked for clarification he’s never prepared to clarify. Pittsfield DEMANDS FRESH HONEST EYES digging deep into ALL THINGS FINANCIAL in Pittsfield’s UNETHICAL government.
On a side note, the former head of a Massachusetts homeless shelter was convicted of stealing from the publicly funded organization he was entrusted to run. So far, the TRUSTED convicted thief has agreed to pay back at least $6 million dollars. What’s unclear is how MUCH more he gets to keep from his organized crimes of stealing from a publicly funded organization.
Part of this trusted Executive Director, who also held the positions of Chief Executive Officer, President and Board member of Casa Nueva Vida, scheme involved using shell companies he established and owned to purchase properties he then leased to CNV at above-market rates, thus easily funneling state funds to himself for his inflated rental payments and for improvements to properties he owned and controlled. And for all of this, he was sentenced to a year, but probably much less, if any time at all, in the county jail.
Appointing a reglar Joe to the assessors board runs the risk of a Whistle Blower incident. Sticking with an embedded good old boy insures that none of this ridiculous oversight stuff will occur.

We have an official update on the story from Lieutenant John Soules of the Pittsfield Police Department. According to Lt. Soules, at approximately 3:30 Monday afternoon, Pittsfield Police Officers responded to Springside Avenue at the intersection of Parker Street for a ShotSpotter activation.
Numerous residents in the area also called the police to report a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene they confirmed there were no injuries however several residences on Springside Avenue had been struck by gunfire. Shell casings were recovered in the area.
Police officers did apprehend some suspects at one point but they were released after officers found no weapons on their persons and no weapons in their vehicle. Lt. Soules had this to say in the media statement:
Thank you Lt. Soules. You are highly regarded and an asset to our police force. Our city needs officers like you with integrity and moral discipline. Morningside needs to be returned to the neighborhood that I grew up in.
Well it is! In fact, the mayor is going to run her Halloween parade right through the firefight zone. Gonna need a quarter million dollars of taxpayer overtime funding to make the area safe.
The good news is that Kerwoods coffers are bloated and can handle such an occasion. But will it be too noisy for the shot spotter to pick up the ricochets?

What kind of gets me is you see help wanted signs in nearly every store and restaurant, obviously they are entry level jobs but even if it wasn’t a conflict of interest does Mr. Kerwood need 3 jobs? You would think there would be some other person that lovely Linda knows that could fill the job that has half a brain.
He has no clue what he is doing in the city positions he already has. Depends on others too much. I hear the city hall staff now works from home some 3+ days a week. Kerwood is a joke. City hall administration is a disgrace. Things need to change.
