PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

———- ooo ———-

On May 7, 2023 at approximately 5:00 AM, the Pittsfield Police Dept., Pittsfield Fire Dept. and Action Ambulance responded to the area of 1050 Dalton Ave for a report of a head on collision between two vehicles.

A 2013 Cheverolet Silverado operated by Mr. Cameron Taylor-Boland (28 years of age) of Dalton, MA appeared to be traveling east bound on Dalton Ave when he collided with a 2013 Toyota Camry operated by a Mr. John Cicchetti (78 years of age) also of Dalton, MA who was traveling west bound.

Both individuals were the only occupants of their respective vehicles and both were transported to BMC.  Mr. Taylor-Boland received minor injuries as a result of this incident.  Mr. Cicchetti remains hospitalized with life threatening injuries.

The area of Dalton Ave where the collision occurred was partially closed  to traffic for approximately 4 hours while the investigation into this collision took place by members of the Pittsfield Police Dept. Traffic Unit.  Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to contact Sgt. Marc Maddalena at 413-448-9700 ext 575.  This crash remains under investigation.

Second of Two Parts

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY MAY 8, 2023) — With respect to ServiceNet’s move into the former Flavours and Flat Burgers restaurant space on McKay Street, THE PLANET received additional information that, if true, corrects some of what we published on The Weekend Edition.

It appears that if a non-profit moves into commercial space it doesn’t own, the property does NOT come off the tax rolls.  If so, Service-net’s occupation of the old Flavours space will not lower the Pittsfield’s tax revenue.

Sources also tell THE PLANET that the move not only occurred without the city’s blessings but without the city’s knowledge. It seems that the city had no part in the transaction. The only way Pittsfield officials could  prevent it is if the Licensing Board were to deny them an entertainment license, which they have no grounds to deny. Evidently, this was a  tenant-landlord deal. In that case, the city would have had few options to prevent it.

Nonetheless, the move helps cement downtown’s status as a social services destination and not a retail, entertainment, or dining one. Restaurants just can’t stay in business there. Exceptions such as Poncho’s proves the rule. It also begs the question: Why didn’t the city know?

———- ooo ———-

Deming Demolition Cont’d

Now more on the wayward plans to further “develop” (= “ruin”) Deming Park.

THE PLANET dug up the Parks Commission minutes for its Feb. 21, 2023 meeting: SKM_C450i23031609450.
A key discovery is how control of the parks’ playing fields and courts this season has been turned over to the user groups. Check out the the last paragraph on page four. It shows that field requests and assignments were decided at a meeting apparently conducted by Recreation and Special Events Coordinator Becky Manship on March 7.  The final paragraph on page five is a comment by Jim “Crime Dog” McGrath regarding a question asked earlier by Cliff Nilan with respect to Deming. Pages 14 and 15 show the dates and times the Babe Ruth and Little League organizations have been given control of their fenced and locked fields. Page 18 shows the pickle ball group’s control of the courts at Herberg and Reid middle schools. It’s certain the private interests will have control of the new courts slated for Springside Park. The old excuse for turning over control of the fields is that “we don’t have the people to maintain them.”
For years, the Parks Department was responsible for the scheduling of playing field and court usage. A lack of funding, however, eliminated the Parks Department, leaving scheduling and use of the parks in the hands of  the individual user organizations. At Deming, this often results in two games being played at the same time, causing parking issues in the surrounding neighborhood. It also makes it difficult, if not impossible, for others to utilize the playground equipment or basketball court — or simply enjoy the park for whatever purpose. In sum, THE PLANET further investigation into the Deming Park destruction has revealed many more problems than this one park.
These include:
  • Park overuse
  • Surrendering city control to private interests
  • Failure to enforce Parks Commission rules
  • Crowding out the general public from enjoying the parks.

These are serious matters, and they just don’t happen in cities and towns that care about its citizens.

Are you really surprised, blogger Dan Valenti, that North Street is a destination for Social Services agencies, along with 15 empty storefronts, the Juvenile Courthouse, the Pittsfield YMCA, and so on? When I moved out of Pittsfield in the early-Spring of 2004 to move to Southern New Hampshire, I remember that North Street was called “Social Services Alley” for years even back then. It has been over 50 years ago now since North Street had a mix of small businesses, theaters, restaurants and bars. I will turn 48 this Summer 2023, and I remember the last breath of England Brothers and the like on North Street. Transforming downtown Pittsfield from a business district to a social services district should not have happened, but every time there were proposals for economic development – a children’s museum, a downtown mall, a new ballpark, a pedestrian small business district, and so on – the Good Old Boys and slum lords shot them down. Inner-city Pittsfield is the home of the underclass, the over 1,000 gang members who live there and all of the unwanted amenities they bring with them, poverty and welfare caseloads, and so on. Homeless people are shitting on the sidewalks. Anyone who is not dependent on social services avoids North Street like they would avoid the plague. Lastly, the state government transplants some of these distressed people and families from other regions to inner-city Pittsfield without fully funding local aid, public education, social services, and the like. Please write to Pittsfield State Representative Tricia Farley-Bouvier and Becket State Senator Paul Mark to request that Boston stop using Pittsfield as its human dumping ground and for Boston to start fully paying for it!

So Dan. In all this discussion, nowhere is the name of the property owner named. Are we are dancing around that for some reason? Would he/she be offended if the public knew they owned this property? Are they embarrassed by it?

And is the building still getting TIFFs and if so how long is that going to last?

Just how big is Cavilers footprint in Pittsfield?

It will be difficult to establish that data, given the Strawman aspect. I know for a fact an employee of Cavalier who is supposedly a real estate agent & property manager, rented out a lead contaminated, historic property which was improperly zoned and no certificate of occupancy. But when the tenant forwarded the 20 page Lead Certificate to the Channels, it was quashed, the tenant was wrongfully evicted for complaining about Lead Poisoning. It was in the paint and the drinking water. They have the backing of the DEP etc. they do not face any mandate to repair, RRR blah, blah.

Coincidence his family is also the Allied BOH. Possibly the major too.

Everything is a lie. People can not win in court because the judges too, are w/the grabbers.

So, ServiceNet, knows all the details of the clients/tenants – I wonder who they will vote for.

If you rent from them, there’s a application – it has all the personal deets required to be a voter.

I bet they know who is absent or present.

I am surprised the “houseless” haven’t found the dugouts at Deming as a wonderful place to create a camp. There is a busy red light close so they will be able to get their “daily bread” without stepping in the church! The southeast is full of 100% Progressive Liberals so I am sure they would be welcomed and given everything they need to create a happy place for themselves. If not I am sure these Liberals won’t mind their cars being rifled through and their items taken by these “houseless” people. Maybe our good clowncilor would give them eating tips or how to dumpster dive. Oh the opportunities are there for the taking!!

The letter lists when groups such as baseball and pickleball have been given the authority to use the facilities in question. I’m not sure why the planet instead uses the wording that the organizations “…have been given control of…” those facilities. They’ve just been given permission to use the facilities at those times!

I’d be interested how an insider now outsider defines a ‘fundamental disagreement.’ Did he wake up from a bad dream?

Here’s the deal tomorrow:

1)Water/Sewer hike starting at $100/yr (one bathroom.) No talk of free meters/assistance for fixed income. Not surprised.
2) Budget: increase 9%. We are keeping pace with City Council mandated salary hikes (5%) plus more.
3) Great gobs $25,000,000 of borrowing for future Pittsfielders to pay for.
4) Assistance for underwater taxpayers: we’re taking their properties and forgiving their court costs. Nice
5)Foreclosure properties to go on market. Push bad fortune forward.
6) $300 missed payment needs our vote.
———-
To quote Alec Guinness, “Mrs. Wilberforce, they don’t want their money back. It’s just a nickel out of everybody’s pocket.
———-
7) Preparatory petitions for Charter revision 2024. Based on their slant, more controls (few in between) are prepping to be abolished. I expect Pittsfield 2.0 to run even more efficiently and burn hotter.

Here’s something that you can get done: Health Safety petition for striking back at road noise is slotted to be neatly filed. Everyone on the Council shall look good. If you want it to stop, show up and say, “Make Item 31 Stick. We want the police to agressively cite, fine, and seize vehicles that are out of compliance with decency.”

Your single vote, occasionally supplemented by box of rocks foster kop mom kalinowski is as useless as tits on a bull.

On the subject of the Pick Pocket CPA Rip-off, which I did not vote for, that criminal tax should be rescinded retroactive to the day it was rammed down the throats of the taxpayers. I absolutely don’t want my tax money used to put a roof on someone’s house in the Morningside or West Side ghetto. I don’t want to replace the back deck or their front porch for someone living in the ghetto. I don’t want to buy new windows for someone living in the Morningside or West Side ghetto. I don’t want $200,000 PLUS of the Pick Pocket rip-off pissed away on Roots and Dreams and Mustard Seeds nonprofit. My tax dollars are not the new welfare office for immigrants. I also don’t want my tax dollars used for repairs to the Colonial Theatre. The Colonial received millions of dollars back in the 90’s. And yet it’s still a parasite on the tit of the taxpayers.

My votes are completely irrelevant which is why I insist on annoying you with my commentary on the injustices of our agendas. Tits are actually very useful for bulls, and if you try to remove even one they will be all over your ass.

Further, as I said to my colleagues, some of whom are patinaed with the age of office, we lose our relevance after two years, and maybe that is too long. 4 years in any organization is a long stint and by the end, one foot is out the door.

We can and should get rid of the pickpocket act. A referendum to put the question back to ballot. Advocate for its poor return on investment and people will likely want the money in their own pockets.

I don’t give a rat’s ass about 3ABC’s. I said, as I said, the property tax potential of ServiceNet vs restaurant is likely less. Not gauranteed less. But the tax value or character of the business does not matter because it is properly zoned. The Mayor, nonetheless, is draining residents for taxes because she has overseen a flight of commerce from Pittsfield.

Thanks, you are a generous man.

Wrong again you clueless kook.
Again you should care about 3ABCs. It’s how PROPERTY tax is assessed or not assessed.
The potential for personal property tax is much higher with a business whose personal property and business assets depreciate slower than a restaurant’s.
You might be thinking of MEALS taxes that will go away but it was an empty space so those taxes already were gone.
What should be of more concern is the wages these jobs will provide, is it better to have higher paying office jobs or lower paying food service jobs? In your world menial labor is better.

Again don’t take out papers, the city doesn’t need a clueless and —ist city councilor.

Complete coward, which I claim is completely unredeemable. That is the one sin or failure that one cannot cure nor remedy. Once a coward, always one. Same goes for traitors, which too is a form of coward.

He said all this already in emails and by phone, when for some reason he bethought to call upon me at 6:30 am. As a matter of public business, I concluded that conversation telling him that his opinion is worth just a penny more than a rat’s fart. He’s been bitching ever since. Hence his posturing like a stone drunkard wandering North Street outside Meth’s at midnight.

Sometime he will try to solicit my opinion on agenda items such as EMA dumps hoping to pry my argument in advance. Sometimes he just tangos with the city solicitor pretending to take a position. I cut that nonsense off a couple of sessions ago.

Next summer/fall the city will be back for Free Cash for supplies and say they couldn’t predict costs. There’s a $1,000,000 in the budget that isn’t for the budget.

As tempting an idea as that is, YOU, can probably do that, but not without consequences. However, there is good news, the Massachusetts high court has affirmed your right to be ‘rude’ in public meetings.

“Although civility, of course, is to be encouraged, it cannot be required regarding the content of what may be said in a public comment session of a government meeting,” the ruling said.

So, while you probably won’t get away with throwing a bucket of dog shit at linda or PEE PEE krolchetti, or gimpy Pee Pee white or even the BIG DUMP persip, even though no one would be able to tell the difference, you can probably call all of them Dog SHIT, or something like that. The word SHIT may be too vulgar, no matter how accurate. You may have to substitute DOG FECES, DOG CRAP, DOG EXCREMENT, FECAL MATTER, STOOL, DUNG, WASTE.

But of course, you know krolchetti is going to deep six the open mic in short order. krolchetti isn’t going to allow citizens to publicly express their dissatisfaction with their corrupt government.

Dan. Krol should be the front runner. Here are reasons why. First,he’s educated. U of Penn not shabby. Second, this is his first try as Mayor. He’s younger than his opponent and just as qualified. The current President has been on the last seven failed years, and I emphasize President. Krol had no real power as Vice President. One other item is he was Jimmy Ruberto second in charge before and he had to learn something from that experience. Vote Krol. What’s to lose.

If you want to call his bad deeds and bad debt as a “fundamental difference” then so be it.

Here’s what happened, he used his political office to get his then mistress, his current wife, a substantial discount on a liquor license.
He leveraged that out to the nth degree.

He also got caught more than a few times, doing the dirty with other women who were not his wife. He and his current benefactor would escort underage women to “meth bar” on North Street and engage in all kinds of notorious behavior.

The third International COVID Summit May 3rd 2023 Over 8 hours worth. It’s enlightening, scary, and infuriating. You will be pissed off. I’m only part way through it.
This whole pandemic was planned years ago. The Kung Flu was being planned long ago. This is all presentations from respeced doctors and scientists from around the world.
“Yesterday, the third International COVID Summit was held at the European Parliament. As noted by the European Parliament Members in attendance, this was an historic event. The summit lasted all day, with many fantastic speakers. It was live streamed and recordings of the many speakers will be made available soon. The ICS summit covered all aspects of the pandemic, as well as the documentation of the increasing power grab by the World Health Organization to control public health and increased control by organized globalized entities throughout the world . ” – Dr Robert Malone

Interesting that they are hard to find. In my day, a white supremacist such as neo nazi or kkk were very clearly that. They had memberships, acquaintances, literatire/propaganda and more to distinguish them. The likes of Adam Hall didn’t make it hard to guess what went on behind his skull.

“These responses are just as expected”

Here, ‘are’ means ‘equal to’ which is not the best use of the verb. According to your thinking, it follows that all responses ARE just as expected. Think a little harder then.

“You do show your hands”

More so you. Your love for labels is semantically primitive. You should grab some Hayakawa or Korzybski and learn how to deal with the stuff.

On the Dalton Avenue collision, fate is a funny thing. I question why a 78-year-old is out on the road at 5:00 AM. But I hope for the sake of the 78-year-old with life-threatening injuries, that firstly that he survives and still has quality of life, and then, that the 28-year-old doesn’t have connections. Sometimes an accident is just an accident. And sometimes it isn’t. Which reminds me, whatever happened with the 2019 motorcycle Jeep collision at the intersection at West Housatonic and Osceola Street.

Some believe alcoholism is a public health crisis vs. criminal behavior.

A kamikaze would make this choice consciously.

Was the breathalyzer calibrated though, or is it just easiest to say he is drunk again.

Did he ever receive mandated substance abuse treatment.

So you are saying the 78 year old should not be out at 5 a.m., but it is fine with you that the 28 year old was so plastered with booze that he blacked out? This was no accident, 28 year deserves where he is sitting today, in jail.

No, I’m not saying that at all. I absolutely do not condone drunk or impaired driving. I’m not faulting the 78-year-old out on the road at 5 am. I hope he survives and is not worse for the alleged actions of the 28-year-old alleged two-time plastered with booze blacked out offender. Who was allegedly still legally drunk at 5 am. Actually, I was questioning whether or not someone else got away with causing the death of a motorcyclist traveling West on West Housatonic Street when a Jeep collided with the motorcyclist. That’s all.

Water and sewer rates are being raised again in Pittsfield. No thought is given to the elderly on fixed incomes. They want people to lose their homes so the homes can be scooped up by Black Rock and owned by the government. The government will then equitably dole them out to those they think are deserving, but government will have the ultimate power. I think we can all see where this is heading.

The government of Pittsfield is not just driving families out but seems to be begging them to leave. No one who knows the value of a dollar will be staying in Pittsfield. It will be left to those who survive on the public dole or do not mind being in debt up to their ears and a future of day to day survival.

Tara Reade is accusing Biden of assaulting her and our globalist media is bending over backwards to support Biden and accuse Reade of all sorts of terrible things. Trump’s accuser is to be believed without a doubt and is a paragon of virtue according to our globalist media. Two different women accusers. One is coddled by the media while the other is demonized and made out to be a fool for even daring to accuse Biden. The media, once again, proving they are in bed with Biden.

You just keep talking and making no sense.
They don’t need an entertainment license to occupy that space, the entertainment license is applied for based on the type of business.
Is this business an entertainment business? No. Then then would never need an entertainment license. The license follows the business type.

Between you and crazy Kronick you guys can’t keep your stories straight.

If the building is zoned for commercial use and the use falls under the permitted commercial uses, it’s got very little to do with the city.

True they don’t need an entertainment license but also true by taking away a space designated as a restaurant the city will lose tax dollars from patrons. Instead the city who over the last decade or so will give up trying to build North St up as a destination place for food and entertainment. Instead we will be getting more dregs on society and social services that do not produce an income for the city. There are other areas as I suggested before that would be more appropriate.

Deming park was in terrible shape as a kid during the 1960s and 70s as in that period of time you could add the bar league softball field created created more cars and crowds. Many teams and overuse created a very unsafe product. The Deming fields of 2023 are of the highest quality taken care of by hundreds of private volunteers. The parking problem is a great problem to have and if you buy a home near a public park what would yould expect.Deming has great history and parking has always been a problem for 3 hours per day on game day in May and June then boom its gone.

Why would the Biden administration try to force Catholic Hospitals to get rid of their Eternal Flames? Biden said the hospitals would no longer receive any Medicare or Medicaid unless they got rid of the Eternal Flames in the hospitals which are central to their faith. The Biden administration backed down finally, but in a Biden 2nd term, there is little doubt that he will be going after Catholics. This is why the Biden administration needs everyone dependent on the government so they can threaten to make you do what they want or you will be financially cut off.

Buyer Beware – except Buyer needs a private investigator because the SIG’s don’t need to follow Sanitary code zoning or by laws. If you are connected, what you do is, bait and switch.

Get an Entrepreneur to come outta the woodwork. Let him buy Commercial Equipment worth thousands of dollars and then – whoop whoop, have your shifty structure reassessed with all your tenants expensive Equipment in place, REMORTGAGE that place, and bam you just won $200,000 cash

Who cares that you destroyed the lives of the tenant and their 4 children but at least you got that money.

That’s business in Berkshire District for you.

Look at the Registry of Deeds you can see the Forclosed property was remortgaged in 2019.

You think I have character flaws- well, that’s classy ! You remortgage my property & pocketed the money….. then you bought the slove after burning down the next door property and turning it into a parking lot.

Slove is not up to clove.

All the while the Police got special detail on the illegal monopoly I mean, eviction. The illegal eviction

This place doesn’t even deserve your presence. You deserve so much better. You work hard. You pay attention.

Marchetti would be worse than Tyer, if that is possible. Not that Krol is great either, but he may be stronger minded than Marchetti. Either way, this is once again a no win situation for Pittsfield. Hopefully there are debates in which we see big differences between these candidates and that they both aren’t just identical in their beliefs and walk in lock step with the far left.

Donald Trump’s rape accuser smiles after Trump is ordered to pay 5 million which tells me it was about the money and smearing him all along. She was going for rape and no woman who was actually raped would be happy with this verdict. She was lying from the start. There is no way to prove that this did or didn’t happen in 1996 and this woman knew it. This could set a precedent of wealthy men being sued by women for behavior they say happened 30 years ago. Such a disgraceful decision, but the jury was made up of far left women which is all there is in New York.
