‘FORTUNATE SON’ BIDEN SURPRISE APPEARANCE BACKFIRES, HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE FINDS HIM IN CONTEMPT

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION JAN. 12-4, 2024) — THE PLANET burned several hours we shall never recover watching C-SPAN‘s coverage of this week’s House Oversight and Judiciary Committee’s proceeding. That’s where, in the name of faux bravado, Hunter Biden worked what one newspaper called “the fortunate son angle.”

He crashed the party.

He also shot himself in the foot.

The House panel held the meeting to debate a resolution holding Hunter in contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena. The Oversight panel, probably after Ways and Means the most powerful congressional committee, is only one of three House committees that can issue subpoenas.

If Mary Jane or Joe Kapanski defies such an order, they are held in contempt and almost always jailed to await further penalty. If a Biden does it, oh well, different set of rules.

———- ooo ———-

When Chairman James Comer called the meeting to order, Biden was plopped in the front row behind the witness desks. This is the same dude who defied the congressional subpoena a week earlier. When he should have been being deposed, he instead stood on the White House lawn and gave a self-serving press conference. Reporters weren’t allowed to ask questions.

What Hunter was thinking in his surprise appearance? THE PLANET can’t say. We guess he wanted to show he wasn’t afraid of the panel’s Republican members as if to say, “See, I ain’t afraid of you guys. Give me your best shot.”

Except that shortly into the hearing, after the photographers and videographers had their fill, he walked out with his entourage, including his lawyer, Abbe Lowell.

It was a PR stunt.

———- ooo ———-

Biden’s charade provided an interesting insight into such proceedings, which, as 100% political as they are, come wrapped in an envelope of a judicial proceeding. The covering is more than technical.

During a legally authorized investigation, be it by Congress or a civil/criminal court, depositions become necessary. This is true a thousand-fold for a congressional probe. Depositions are taken behind closed doors so that all parties can ask their questions and answer them at length, with due deliberation and essentially uninterrupted. That is impossible in open session, where the chair and ranking member open with speeches, then each member on both sides get five minutes to machine-gun questions and to grandstand.

Open hearings provide little except Show. Witness evade with memory loss of  “I don’t recall.” Questioners don’t make queries as much as they aggrandize in solipsistic soapboxing. In deposition, parties can get down to business. The cameras aren’t on, and instead of truncated, five-minute oratory, one gets SERIOUS questions and answers. Inquisitors are far less likely to accept “I don’t recall.”

———- ooo ———–

When Biden showed up as a surprise guest, panel Democrats, who had to know in advance of the move, dared their Republican colleagues to put the “favorite son” under oath, then and there. The “put or or shut up”  move backfired.

Everyone in the know saw right through it. Without a deposition backing things up, all you get is posturing. Republicans wisely didn’t fall for the bait.

To use a more common analogy, if you are a defendant in a court case, you can’t defy the court’s schedule. You can’t just show up, unannounced, and tell the judge, “Sir, I want you to open the case now.”

That’s what Hunter Biden did last week.

On Wednesday, he paid the price. Congress held him in contempt.

Heave a great weekend everybody.

Seeing how he is a democRAT, I’m sure Xiden and Bathhouse Barry will award him with the Presidential Freedom Medal.

Under the Bathhouse Barry regime, the award was renamed the Presidential Pedophile Award. A few recipients: Bill Gates, Tom Hanks, Ellen DeGeneres, and Robert Deniro.

All enjoyed sexually abusing children on Epstein’s Island. What was Bill Clinton’s preference, “He likes them young.”

Talking to many Democrats in the area I am still amazed that they back Biden 100%. This is even after a discussion on how America has declined into the Third Reich with the FBI and DOJ out of control arresting and jailing all opponents while letting the criminals walk. They have no defense of these facts just that the boogey msn or orange man is a worse option. They do not want to talk about the over 200 Democrat operatives at the Capitol who cut the fence down and led the innocent people into the Capitol, nor the Quid Pro Quo Joe tape that blatantly shows the then Vice President admitting to breaking the law, or how as a Congressman he had illegal classified documents out in the open so anyone could see it, or his many shell companies with payments from foreign countries like Russia and China. How do these supposedly smart/intelligent people have such a blind eyes and deaf ears to the facts? I get that they don’t want to vote outside the democrats but can’t they find a candidate that’s not screwing the people over?? Now the facts are showing that the Biden crime cartel is behind all the indictments against his opponent…and tell me we aren’t in 1930 Germany

Biden and progressive democrats are leading America to a complete marxism/socialism take over of the country and there are millions who would still vote for them even though they are voting for their own demise. They are that loyal or that stupid. It doesn’t matter how much they fail, they have a constituency that blindly votes for them. Joe Biden could even campaign on nuking blue states and they would still vote for him, simply because he is a Democrat. Stupid is as
Stupid does.

The only mentally ill writing I have read is from you TSC, one moment you are writing that Pittsfield needs to close schools and become more efficient iterating that the GOBSIGS (ie Democrat leaders) want to waste $40 million on a ballpark and other wasteful expenditures, in the next you are supporting a President in cognitive decline who has increased the national debt to over $34 trillion on useless expenditures. Is this what the call split personality?? I agree with Nancy Mace that Hunter Biden is the epitome of white privilege. He doesn’t pay his taxes for years while his father is aggressively going after Americans for not paying their taxes. The budget is loaded with pork. Pork that Pete helped put in the budget. What he is saying is that he is not man enough to upset anybody that has been getting extra goodies. Could probably cut a half million from the roadside flower/tree/bush decor budget. Print the whole thing out here if anyone has even kept track and I will personally tell you what to cut. NONE of it is essential in tough times Pete. Just stop with all the decorations for one or two years and save a bundle. For starters. No one cares if there are flowers every fifty feet in the city except the vendor making a fortune and the people getting the kickbacks.

Find out if all the city workers taking home vehicles is necessary. (besides that fact that there are so many now that the city does not have enough land to park them all on) Bet the city has double the number of vehicles it had when the population was 20,000 higher.

Get some smaller school buses.

Cut the school lunches in half. If you cannot afford to feed a child don’t have one. My guess is most parents are just too damn lazy to make their kid a lunch.

Stop having silly events that require heavy overtime police monitoring.

And put the kibosh on that stupid ballpark. High inflation, high borrowing costs, high building material costs. No real need for the project in the first place. Get real. Continuing to pile up debt is part of the reason taxes are so high. Just insure that taxes will continue to climb for future generations.

Put necessary projects out to an authentic bidding process. And stop hiring consultants to tell department heads how to do their jobs. Instead, hire department heads that actually know their job??? Duh?

Just stop spending Pete. Stop the waste and stop trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Not all of us are as stupid as you would like to believe.

And if you do a forensic audit THEY will find the places to cut for you. THEY will highlight the wasteful spending you can then reign in. And then YOU can blame them so it will seem like it is not your fault. Do it Pete.

Donald Trump is facing 4 criminal trials and multiple civil trials in 2024. Joe Biden is facing an impeachment inquiry in 2024. The corrupt career politicians in the U.S. House of Representatives on the Republican Party side want Hunter Biden to testify in privately held depositions to throw his father, Joe Biden, under the bus so that the Swamp politicians will have more ammunition to use against the sitting U.S. President. Hunter Biden defied the subpoena because he knows that it is a mousetrap.

For years now in Pittsfield politics (Massachusetts), I – Jon Melle – have written about the deadly mousetrap(s) set up to ruin my life because Nuciforo, who is an Attorney, had a vendetta against my dad, Bob, and tried to ruin his life in the mid- to late-1990’s. People have said and written that what happened to me was many years ago, but the political and legal mousetraps are still there for me in my native hometown of Pittsfield.

This is called CONSPIRATORIAL POLITICS and LEGAL ENTRAPMENT(S)! They are doing it to Donald Trump. They are doing it to Joe Biden and his scoundrel son Hunter Biden. In Pittsfield politics, they are still doing to to me: Jon Melle – even though it happened many years ago now.

Why do politicians and lawyers set up these kinds of conspiratorial mousetraps? Aren’t we supposed to be treated both FAIRLY and SAFELY with Equal Justice Under Law? If your father was the sitting U.S. President and you knew that a mousetrap was set up for you to throw your own father under the bus, would you take the bait like a rodent? Hunter Biden is a lawyer who has lawyers defending him. Hunter Biden chose to NOT throw his father, Joe Biden, under the bus.

Governor Maura Healey is making cuts to state spending. Sarcasm: She asked me for advice on where she should cut the fat out of the state budget. I told her to cut the public pay plus perks of the DO NOTHING (but DISSERVICES) State Legislators. She replied that she would like to, but she doesn’t have the votes to do so. I told her to cut her own salary to lead by example. She replied that she cut state funding to the social services programs that help low- to moderate-income residents, but she is proud to be the second highest paid governor in the U.S.A. behind only New York State Governor Kathy Hochul. I congratulated both Governors Maura Healey and Kathy Hochul on cashing in on state government. They became upset with me for my backhanded praise and then they taped my mouth shut in the name of limiting HOT AIR. So now I am writing this JOKE to you while breathing through my nose. A law firm will now investigate a book search in Great Barrington for “Gender Queer”, a book that even the author of the book says is for adults only and most certainly not for middle school kids. All of the kids in the school are now traumatized by the incident with the LBGT kids saying they are being harassed by kids on the school bus and the non-LGBT kids made uncomfortable by the images in the book. The school insists it will take action against the LGBT bullying. Will they be kicking kids out of school? The school will, however, defend the book being readily available in the middle school classrooms. The teacher is also being accused of telling kids not to tell their parents about the book being shown in the classroom and having kids sit on her lap. All of this could have been avoided by focusing on what the schools have traditionally taught children and not getting involved in showing graphic for adults only books to children and hiding their intent by calling it healthcare for children.

Under the guise of health and safety for children, community-based organizations such as GLSEN and PFLAG, working in coordination with the public schools, are encouraging showing young children very inappropriate graphic sexual literature. School personnel with an agenda have taken over the public school system in America and especially in Massachusetts where this sexual indoctrination of young children is in many, if not all, of our schools.
