PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENT

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY APRIL 28, 2025) — Seems that helzapoppin’ with respect to the PHS/school department/school committee scandal. Drugs, sex, and rock’n roll? Used to be confined to the rock-star life. Now, courtesy of Bitchfield school administrators, it’s the way of school corridors.

A reasonable question: What else is going on there and at other schools that the public doesn’t  know about? There are street rumblings about similar misdeeds at Taconic, both middle schools, and even Williams elementary school on Bushey Road. THE PLANET hasn’t seen school officials so tense and uptight since Sara Hathaway butt-dialed Rick Scapin.

But back to PHS.

A citizen apparently sent the city a request for the public records pertaining to the PHS scandal (It’s “scandals,” plural, but we’ll use the collective singular as the extra-large container. Misconduct of this sort needs the Janitor in a Drum size). The PSD ignored the request. Said citizen, listed as “Ciara Batory” (real name or not? Related to “Ci Ci Eliza”?) appealed to the state, which found in her favor (that is, if the April 24 letter from the state Public records Division is authentic, which it appears to be). PHS must respond by May 4.

Here’s a summary posted by FREE BIRD, one of our correspondents, in the comments section of THE PLANET‘s previous column. This summary has been published on various social media sites as well:

Summary of the letter from the Massachusetts Supervisor of Records

• Ciara Batory submitted a public records request for a copy of an investigation report related to Pittsfield High School (likely involving misconduct).
• The Pittsfield Public Schools (PPS) denied the request, citing exemptions under Massachusetts public records law: Exemption (a) (statutory) and Exemption (c) (privacy).
• Ms. Batory appealed the denial.
• The Supervisor of Records reviewed the case (SPR25/1014) and found that:
• The cited statute G. L. c. 214, § 1B (privacy statute) does not qualify for Exemption (a).
• The school’s response under Exemption (c) lacked sufficient detail and failed to justify withholding the report in full.
• The school did not demonstrate that redaction wouldn’t be sufficient to protect privacy.
• The public interest—especially in alleged misconduct involving public officials—may outweigh any privacy concerns.

What’s Next:
• PPS has 10 business days to comply with the directive by:
• Releasing the report (or a redacted version),
• Explaining in detail which parts are exempt and why,
• Providing non-exempt portions,
• Sending a copy of the response to the Supervisor of Records.

Why This Matters:

This ruling is a win for transparency and accountability in public institutions—especially in cases where taxpayer dollars and public trust are involved. It signals that blanket denials of access to investigative reports will not be accepted without a strong, specific legal foundation.

Here is a copy of the letter. It is in four overlapping takes:

Not since ordinary citizens forced The Suits into a special election over the Civic Authority, not since ordinary citizens

PREVAILED, has the electorate had “Them” so “on the ropes.” The key here is the voters to keep the pressure on and turn  With the budget coming up and with this being an election year, the Kapanskis must let The Suits know that this time The Little Guy means business. They can do that by increasing the pressure on the mayor, school committee, and council.

Or else?

Or else “They” will play the long game, wait it out, and allow the scandal to fade away. Nothing to see here, folks.

Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski scored such a victory, but it will only matter if the public keeps officials’ feet to the fire.

Can you imagine how terrified the people on the inside who know exactly what dirt is being hidden and who it involves? Even for the sake of the children and the reputation of the city they dare not speak. Must be some real higher ups involved in the coverup.

Is Marchetti going to go public with a statement? Should he not do that about now? How about the council president? How deep into the bunker has this guy crawled?

In Pittsfield politics, the fictional Kapanski’s are:

On a business day, just an ATM for the corrupt career politicians’ coffers;

On a business as usual day, a doormat for the corrupt career politicians to walk all over on then;

On a bad day, a toilet for the corrupt career politicians to shit on.

What else do you expect from the 2-Pete’s Pittsfield politics, Bill Cameron, Sara Hathaway, and the other corrupt career politicians?

If you are a fictional Kapanski, then your best bet is to move away from the Pitts.

Marchetti is 100% convinced there is zero wrongdoing in any sense. He’s been making that clear to anyone within earshot

For his sake, I hope this report shows just that. If not, we need a recall post haste

I trust the 2-Pete’s Pittsfield politics as far as I could throw them. They have NOT done one good thing.

So he is saying the whole thing was a hoax. Everything was made up by disgruntled kids and employees?

OK, then I guess we can just move on and start spending millions of dollars fixing up North street again for the ninth time and Waconah Park and Pontusooc lake and the Springside House, cuz all these things need doing right now while interest rates are high and construction material prices are through the roof. Let us nail these taxpayers to the freaking wall. And if they bitch about their struggles with exorbitant car insurance or home insurance or food or tariff related stuff, tell them tuff shit from the Petes.

Great job by this citizen for putting their feet to the fire. I have long said that these schools are the “belly of the beast” and the only way to get to get rid of the corruption is to keep the pressure on for total transparency. This story should also go national as a warning to other liberal school districts of what happens when the schools have too much power and push a political agenda. The Supreme Court is currently reviewing the reading material in schools like “Pride Puppy” for very young children and even the liberal judges are horrified by what they are reading and saying that even parents who are not religious would be upset that their children are reading these very sexually explicit books.

There are some very concerned GOBSIG’s right now. The spotlight is shining brightly on various members of the City of Bitchfield and the Bitchfield Pubic Scohol Department, and they can’t control the narrative and are in a panic.

It’s only a matter of time, before somebody goes on record and exposes the entire PHS scandal. Trying to sweep pedophilia under the rug is not only criminal, but also despicable.

I do believe the GOBSIG’s were planning on playing the long game and keep delaying and delaying, until the Eagle could run a full expose on the rebuild of Wahconah Park complete with smiling photo-ops of Mayor Lumpy and CC Prez. Wimpy White.

This FOIA by Ciara Batory just put a monkey-wrench in those plans.

**It now begs the question; how much is this going to cost Bitchfield taxpayers in legal fees? You know trying to keep certain individuals protected?

This in addition to the $375 an hour we are already paying Bulkey Richardson for this white was….I mean report.

It would cost taxpayers NOTHING if they just RELEASED THE FULL REPORT!

**One last question, why does the Bitchfield Pubic Scohol Department need a “Director of Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion,” at $100,000 a year, plus bennies? Doesn’t the City have an HR Department? Doesn’t the City already have a DEI position in Michael “OB” Obasohan? Talk about redundancy on the taxpayers’ backs. WOW!!

During budget time, they really can’t find positions to cut or money to save……..

It certainly puts a monkey wrench in Camerons timeline. He has to line by line justify what he omits by first week of May.

If Marchetti doesn’t come out swinging like Charlie Bordez back in the 70’s at Wahaconah Park, he will take Mayor Hideaways crown! In fact, why can’t he just release the report?

If I recall, he played shortstop circa 1974. Used to give me and my pals the cracked bats. Nice guy.

Yup Charlie was an infielder and a nice guy. Average hitter and fielder. Played here in ’73 and split ’74 and ’75 up and down between AA Pittsfield and AAA Spokecane.

For 20 years there is a culture that you as a principle must run your school in a way that does not report problems to the administration.Mandated reporting is just a suggestion that underlings learn to keep secret. The next Superintendent must demand problems be reported. All reports need to go directly to the School Committee and every report need a follow up.The needs to be a walk around your school once per period. To many principles hide in the office. They need to put on sneakers and run their environment. If something does not seem right then it isnt. The Superintendent needs to walk buildings everyday.Your Pittsfield school administrators are all hiding. This job requires walking.Stop hiding and start walking.

Will the Supers “supervise” the DEI drag shows in grade schools too?

I bet you could get Marchetti to attend those!

I agree. Principal Reid of North Junior High School now Reid Junior High School greeted the students each day, walked around the school all day, and was there when we left at the end of the day. He was definitely not a “hide in the office” type. He always knew what was going on in the school at all times and acted promptly to fix problems. He kept a professional distance from students, however, unlike teachers and administrators today who want to be everybody’s best friend in the school. Getting too emotionally involved with students is bad and we have seen where this leads. We respected Principal Reid. He was a great principal.

I’m assuming the mayor (lumpy) read the summary of nothing? So the council is saying they haven’t. So would you believe if lumpy did read the report he wouldn’t share it in private to his buddy Voltron? Assuming lumpy read it.

The suits don’t care, never have. I go back a ways, i have seen and spoken to many pols and folks. there is one thing that has been done in pittsfield in years, back to the 1980’s. its a one party town, and in the late 2000 it became a sancuary city, meaning, the pol’s deside who and what is law. Who deside what is law, think about that, honestly think about that, who decides what is law. Law is law, you break it or you don’t. Well, In Pittsfield, since the early 2020, that became do what i say, not what i do, you follow or your done. its called mandates, something a former mayor used always. Fast forward to now, we have children, endocridated, because of lack of school because it was mandated to keep them away, away from Parents, that had a say. Untill the entire, school committee, and i mean everyone is purged, you will not get a better outcome. Sarah H, is a joke, she lost it as a mayor, now sits on the school committee, she will lose that seat in a walk, so she is asking for a city council seat. Cameron, i asked 3 years ago for his ouster, i got shot down…i guess who is right now..

Who is running the City? It certainly isn’t Marchetti. It seems really strange that since the State made this ruling we have not heard a peep from Marchetti, White or any City Councilor. Did all of them forget that they were elected to represent the taxpayers of Pittsfield? Seems like they only care about the transgender community the hell with the rest of us, most importantly the children of the city.

Who is telling them all to keep quiet? Is it Mary Jo Corrupt? Does Marchetti and Kerwood even have a clue how much taxpayers money will be handed right over to this law firm they hired. They seem to have given them a blank check, did they even give them a limit? Is this amount going to be debited from the School budget? Yet even though Marchetti worked at a bank he seems to not know what a debit means!

Since it is two lone “female” soldiers that brought this issue out to the public, can anyone imagine what Marchetti is calling them? Bet it’s a lot worse than what he called Victoria May and other females at the bank.

Just want to thank Angel for revealing the issues at PHS and thank CIci for getting the clarification from the State, something anyone of the elected officials COULD have done for us.

The Berkshire Eagle couldn’t even understand this ruling, they just printed their own version, is the City Administration paying them to print lies?

We need to know why the WHOLE CITY ADMINISTRATION is in hiding? Time to come clean Marchetti. Can say that Tyer trained you well!

Dan ,

Where is Persip stance on matter ? He is quick to claim “ white privilage “ on issues , invoking his senseless , racist , uneducated position s on matters ? How come Persip isn’t claiming “ Black privilege “ on the Dean of students peddling drugs in a school where education , learning , discipline is supposed to be highest priority . It is sad when people who serve use their position to speak of personal social injustice . So unfortunate a reverse racism is tolerated , on tax persons dime . He is an embarrassment to city , public , and to all people white , black , yellow , Asian , etc . Paid leave for dealing drugs and ruining people lives , while ignorance , hatred , and incompetence is tolerated by a racist city councilor. Uses our money to create a platform of racism , unacceptable.

This is a great example of a taxpayer saying NO, I will not accept that as an answer, and I will not let this just fade away like Gen. MacArthur. Imagine if we never got any information about this investigation besides the watered-down version Bill Cameron wanted to give us. Aside from the sexual misconduct allegations, we must never forget that we MUST find out how Dancin’ Dean was hired for that job. I think we all know “why” but if we can get to the core of that, we might be able to get closer to the core of why our super-expensive schools are so damn terrible.
