QUESTION ‘ROUND THE CAMPFIRE OF IDLENESS: WHAT IS MONEY?

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY AUG. 11, 2025) — We’ve caught our limit, set them free, and have had a great run with the bees. Idling can be habit forming.

Question round the campfire last night: What is money?

It’s the unit of value placed on compensation for work. It also numerates the valuation of tangible goods. That’s it. Only this and nothing more.

We typically think of money as pieces of paper, currency in the form of dollar greenbacks, but that’s simply part of the grand illusion behind all money. Of course, folding money is going the way of the hand-written essay. The beauty of cryptocurrency is not in its inscrutable nature but in the way it further abstracts the abstraction of fiat bills. As for banks, as a wise man once said, they are merely pawn shops for promises.

On THE PLANET, we will be issuing our own private greenbacks that shall be accepted by the finest houses of trade and accepted in every respectable household. Our unit of value will be called the Vrabit, named after the new coach of the New England Patriots, Mike Vrabel. Our pitchman for the cyber version? None other than Tom Brady, of Statuesque fame.

THE PLANET‘s advice: Get in early.

Meanwhile, The Comment Line remains open with a new set of downs, and THE PLANET continues to VACATE in Lands Wild.

Cheers!

What is MONEY? Answer: “Kapanski Ka$h” for the 2-Pete’s “Pittsfield politics pounding people’s purses” to “piss away” with their ongoing “spending spree”.

What is the definition of insanity? Answer: The past over 40 years of Pittsfield politics doing the same things over and over again with the same WORST results.

What is CRUELTY? Answer: We will see it on full display at the Pittsfield City Council’s meeting on Tuesday night, August 12th, 2025, when they deliberate about and then vote on Mayor Peter Marchetti’s encampment ban with fines of homeless people sleeping on public property that leaves no other alternatives for the homeless residents.

Jon Melle

P.S. Mayor Peter Marchetti’s “War against the Underclass” residents of PIttsfield has always been met with protests, dissent, and his CRUEL proposals always getting voted down.

I can’t imagine going through life just looking for things that offend you so you can announce it loudly to the rest of the world. You must have some place where you go and award yourself little badges for each offense found and announced- kind of like the boy scouts of old earning badges.

ALL Sarcasm:

You are right about the 2-Pete’s Pittsfield politics, while I am wrong and some how offended by their leadership.

I agree with you that Mayor Peter Marchetti’s “War against the Underclass” residents of Pittsfield who panhandle and/or are homeless springs from his sincerity to serve all of the people he leads with respect, safety and fairness.

I agree with you that Pittsfield should spend over $62 million more per fiscal year than its similarly sized small city counterpart Westfield. Furthermore, the landlords paying tens of millions of dollars more in property taxes and fees than other small cities could not possibly cause rent prices to be higher than in Westfield.

I agree with you that Andrea Francesco Nuciforo Junior’s 2023 lawsuit versus the City of Pittsfield that was settled last year 2024 with $341,000 in the city’s “FREE CASH” account to Nuciforo’s Berkshire Roots was justified. It is not like Nuciforo is not already a millionaire who lives in his $950,000 mansion in Pittsfield’s elitist Gated Community neighborhood west of Berkshire Community College, while he also resides in an upscale Boston residence, while he also is a landlord of several buildings in Pittsfield and Boston alike.

Nuciforo needed the city’s $341,000, while the fixed-income senior citizens and other financially constrained residents of Pittsfield live a life of luxury.

I agree with you that Pittsfield’s close to $1 billion dollars in municipal debts plus other unfunded liabilities will paid off by Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy. Furthermore, it is a good thing that a FORENSIC AUDIT never happens because the city’s books are never cooked.

There’s perhaps no better symbolic representation of America’s financial might than the U.S. dollar. And right now, the world’s top currency is taking a big, mighty punch.

Sell USA? Why Trump’s tariffs may be sparking a historic storm on Wall StreetThe dollar has slumped more than 10% this year, posting its worst decline in the first six months of a year since 1973, back when President Nixon shocked the world by detaching the dollar’s value from gold.

Weakening dollar encourages exports. Doesn’t help foreign competitors. But reducing trade deficit does protect our currency.

You’re be a fool to bet against the US economy in general, and especially foolish today. Example: people dumped Tesla driving it to 220/share. It now sells 340.

The hits seemingly just keep coming for Tesla and its Cybertruck, after new sales figures show just how poorly it’s performed lately in the United States.
What’s happening?According to TechCrunch, Tesla’s sales numbers for the Cybertruck plummeted in the second quarter of 2025 and were not only beaten by the Ford F-150 Lightning for the second consecutive quarter but were also beaten by GMC’s Hummer EV, a vehicle that has been on the market since 2023 but isn’t often seen on the road. The Cybertruck sold just 4,306 units from April 1 through June 30 of this year, while the Hummer EV sold 4,508 units in the same span.

Tesla is reportedly holding around $800 million worth of unsold Cybertrucks, signaling challenges in moving the highly anticipated electric pickup off the lots. Despite significant hype and pre-orders, the Cybertruck’s unique design and pricing appear to have limited its immediate mass-market appeal. Analysts suggest that production bottlenecks, supply chain issues, and shifting consumer preferences could be factors contributing to the stockpile. Tesla’s strategy to scale pro…

It doesn’t matter if they are Vrabits or Belibits, as long as it’s not their money, democRATS will spend, spend, spend, with no regard to budgets.

Where does our tax money go? Does it help the hard-working American? Or the “little guy,” JM always mentions?

Absolutely not! They are keeping with their Americans last policy just to spite Trump.

democRAT leaders spend tax money on illegal aliens, frivolous lawsuits (TDS), and unnecessary projects (Wahconah Park or Ricky Rumpus Roundabouts).

In this post, Chicago’s failed DEI mayor, Brandon Johnson, has driven the City of Chicago off the financial cliff with no help insight from the federal government. How long before it’s Bitchfield?

I agree with a lot of what you have to say about politics. We are both Veterans who served honorably in the U.S. Army. I respect you. I thank you for your service.

I agree with you that the 2-Pete’s Pittsfield politics are spending excessive amounts of taxpayer dollars. Westfield is a similarly sized small city to Pittsfield. Westfield spends over $62 million per fiscal year 2026 LESS than Pittsfield.

It is always “Pay-to-Play” in the government. Some greedy lobbyists report 7-figure earnings in Boston for their legal bribes to the State Representatives, State Senators, and Governor Maura Healey, who passed a total of 9 bills into state law so far in the calendar year of 2025.

There are way more lobbyists than Members of U.S. Congress in the Swamp’s K Street corporate lobbyist firms. They wrote Obamacare. They wrote Trump’s 2 single largest federal tax cut bills in U.S. history. Most Members of U.S. Congress did not bother to read any of the above bills before they voted on them.

What the HELL does anyone want “JM” – Jon Melle – to do about the government’s GREED?

The common people – including “JM”: Jon Melle – and families and small businesses do NOT count to the corrupt career politicians, who are doing a lot better than most of the people they supposedly serve in the government.

President Trump is putting the national Guard, lots of DC police and even FBI on the streets of Washington DC to get control of the crime. Young people commit violent crimes and are set free because they are too young to know the difference between right and wrong according to the Democrats. Gangs are overtaking the city and the criminals are not afraid to commit their crimes. It’s long overdue for this crackdown on crime.

D-MA Maura Healey is putting them up in luxury hotels, paying their living expenses, and free medical and education.

D-MA TFBliviot gives them free drivers licenses. They don’t need to drive to work, since they can’t work in USA legally.

Some are repeat Felons who are released no bail/conditions, to commit more mayhem by D-MA Liberal Judges.

US/MA taxpayers are footing the bill using monies intended to help US Citizens. POTUS Trump is cutting off the gravy train. How is Healey going to deal these newly homeless CRIMINAL ALIENS? She has already bankrupted the funds intended for Americans.

As the clowncil picks up the vagrancy bill tonight (aka houseless agenda) I feel they should recall what JFK told the American people. He inferred it was a privilege to be an American and you should “ask not what the country can do for you but what you can do for your country”!! Kind of says it all these vagrants are doing nothing except break the laws of the city. In my family we were always told to earn our keep which was similar to what Kennedy was saying, so my question to the vagrants would be what have you done to make this community a better place to live?

Merry & Bright

Many residents throughout the City of Shitsfield received an invitation from AccessPlus to attend an informational meeting tonight in the City Hall at 6 o’clock! They neglected to say it’s Item #21 on the CC agenda. The presentation most likely will not occur for at least an hour if not two hours late once all the Open Mic houseless supporters speak. Basically they sent out bogus propaganda. Question is, is AccessPlus aware of how screwed up the City Administration is OR does the City Administration want it this way?

Isn’t there a fire code for how many people can be in the CC chambers? If you mail an invite to most of the City why not have a private meeting at one of the schools that will hold a large group. You can’t tell me that the Mayor and City Clerk were unaware of this. The bottom line is they don’t want to hear what voters want, whether it’s good or bad.

Money is anything people accept as a “store of value”. Every government creates currency, usually through banks, and requires that people accept it for debts. The “crypto” market is a private store of value that stores highly volatile value except for the the various “stablecoins”. Goverments also create “central bank digital currency” which is like a crypto except governments can track everything you purchase. Finally, there is no law that keeps any one of us from creating a currency but then, nobody has to accept your currency. During WW2 soldiers in Europe often used cigaretts as currency.

Yes, what is this city council doing? A few of them are either not concerned or lack political knowledge about the intricacies of running a local government. Pittsfield has an enormous budget.

I really don’t prefer this current city council making decisions with what we have in the budget of 220 million plus or how it has been spent and how it is going to be spent.

We need to reign in certain projects going forward. Wahconah Park should be on the top of this list. It’s just a bad investment.

When Bitchfield government can tax, impose fees, and put us in debt, on a whim, we don’t own our money the Bitchfield government does.  Granted, we all need to pay our fair share for the structure a government affords us, “which here in Bitchfield isn’t a whole lot of positive structure “, but when people have to work half the year to pay all our taxes, fees etc.. the price is

I got to traverse the brand new and nearly complete, Ricky Bendejo approved, roundabout/rotary connecting 1st and North streets at BMC.

The poor design is even worse than the one Rumpus had inserted on Tyler St.

Besides also being too narrow for trucks/semi- trailers to negotiate, It does nothing to improve the flow of traffic.

With traffic lights close by to the North (2) and South, traffic backs up into the rotary totally blocking traffic moving whatsoever.

It’s analogous/similar to an arterial blood clot, or a toilet so full of shit that it can’t flush itself, because the drain pipe is too tiny and hopelessly clogged up.

If they work so great, why did they get rid of the only one that could actually handle the traffic. I am talking about Park Square. I don’t believe the rotary will help much when , in my opinion, its the entry to BMC campus that needs redesigning, its to narrow, only a couple of cars can fit in front of the main doors where patients are discharged, not enough parking for the emergency room. With the hospital leveling all the houses on their North St. side they could have redesigned a better entrance to the campus, not just the Medical Arts Building. To me the tax payers are paying for what amounts to BMC’s new entrance.

One of the local news outlets has been doing some great stories about how high the cost of food is getting and how food subsidies are being cut. They also did a great story about the lack of housing for lower (middle income) folk. And I am sure they are aware of how much home and auto insurance is going way up along with the recent spikes in electric bills. And one would think they might also be aware of how building materials such as lumber and steel are spiking due to the tariffs. And they might have noticed how high interest rates have become on loans and credit cards and mortgages.

And yet, knowing all these things effect taxpayers adversely they are pushing hard for a new 30-55 million dollar stadium event venue on Waconah street. The unspoken truth of the matter is that this new “stadium” is designed for all kinds of events with baseball being a side attraction. Hopefully they will soon do an article on Pittsfield’s city debt load and how long it will take Pittsfield’s taxpayers to pay it off while sucking money from their normal family budget of food, shelter and clothing to pay for something they may never even go to. Apparently Kerwood and Marchetti have no red line as to when to cut back on mad man spending habits. And there will be NO realistic audits suggesting perhaps they lighten up. No oversight whatsoever. Great job Matt.

Get Out Now!!!

Since there is no need for a Preliminary Election in Pittsfield the Marchetti Administration has plenty of time to add issues to be voted on in November. They can have questions on the Camping Ordinance, the Panhandling and lastly Wahconah Park mega expensive upgrade. Or, do they not want the REAL feelings of the hardworking taxpayers. On both the Camping and Panhandling issues the CC is listening to mostly the non-employed and non tax paying crowd.

Money is basically a time necessary for a society to make a unit of of goods or services.
When government gives money for nothing (including local Municipality),it devaluates
money, creates inflation, reduces the value of saving people have.
Having too many employees producing nothing for a society is an example.

Meanwhile/Larry Bird, TSC, JM, any chance you’d care to try and explain this TREASON to The Planet.

Eric Daugherty on X: ” BREAKING: DNI Tulsi Gabbard just declassified bombshell files that show in December 2016 — before President Trump took office — then-DNI James Clapper, COMPLYING with Obama orders… …and shockingly ADMITTING that creating the Russian collusion hoax report “compromised” their https://t.co/28BZpGhUIi” / X

JM, you post on here about being having an honorable discharge from the US Army.

Did you not take an oath of office to protect against all enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC? Wouldn’t this fall into the “domestic enemies” category in your book?

Obama approved the “Russian Hoax” against an incoming, elected, president of the United States.

Meanwhile, TSC? Care to comment.

Meanwhile/Larry Bird, you’ve posted about the “J6 Insurrection,” so much on here, you set your panties on fire. We all know now it was staged by Nancy Pelosi to distract from the “81,000,000 votes Joe got.”

Here are receipts of treason and a true insurrection from within our own government.

Don’t go quiet now.

President Trump is moving ahead with plans to hold an Ultimate Fighting Championship event on the White House grounds next July 4, the UFC’s chief executive, Dana White, told CBS. Read more: https://nyti.ms/47pcmLl

The guy is making an absolute mockery of American government. If Biden or Obama did this you would be screaming at the top of your lungs. Pulling your hair out. But if Donald is doing it it is absolute genius. He is going to set up huge screens and sell tickets and sell his merchandise.

Talking about making a mockery of American government, see Sam Brinton. Then there’s a democrat staffer video taping himself taking it in the A$$ on a senate table. They were just a couple examples of many to show the world of American government in action in the prior
administration.

And then threw a party at The White House for the mentally ill deviants, who only were wearing bras, panties and fake bunny ears.

The best part is, they played right into President Trump’s hands.

He showed the rest of the country that he’s taking a tough stance on crime and of course the democRATS afflicted with severe TDS, have taken a pro crime stance.

Trump gives the democRATS just enough rope to hang themselves and boy do they do a damn good job of doing it.

To get off subject for a minute, any updates on the Bitchfield Pubic Scohol Skandel?

Or is it tied up in the courts for years costing taxpayers even more scratch?

Any chance I could get you to answer what I wrote above about Bathhouse Barry Obama and his administration committed TREASON.

Trump’s team declassified emails and documents showing Barry created the “Russian hoax,” to protect Killary from the FBI investigating her.

Let me guess, this is part of “Project 2025.”

Courthouse News Service
WASHINGTON (CN) — A group of House Democrats, many of whom have served in the U.S. military, condemned President Donald Trump on Friday for his reported remarks disparaging veterans as “losers” and “suckers.”
“It is completely unacceptable and it is completely unacceptable when it comes from our commander-in-chief,” Congressman Ted Lieu, a California Democrat, told reporters on a conference call.
The latest criticism of Trump, just two months before the presidential election, was spurred by allegations in a report
published by The Atlantic on Thursday night. In it, numerous anonymous officials recounted Trump’s alleged remarks as he canceled a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in France two years ago.
A rainy day made Trump concerned his hair would be mussed, but most offensively, the Democratic lawmakers lamented Friday, the president reportedly declined the visit because it was unimportant to go to a cemetery “filled with losers.”
According to the Atlantic report, Trump referred to the U.S. Marines who fought and died at the hallowed World War I battle site Belleau Wood as “suckers.” Soldiers fought a 20-day campaign there to rout Germans from their forested stronghold a mere 30 miles from Paris. Over 1,800 Marines were killed and there were almost 10,000 total American casualties at Belleau Wood.

https://oversight.house.gov/release/comer-president-bidens-poor-leadership-and-planning-led-to-the-catastrophic-afghanistan-withdrawal%ef%bf%bc/

“WASHINGTON – Today, House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) delivered opening remarks at a full committee hearing titled “The Biden Administration’s Disastrous Withdrawal from Afghanistan, Part I: Review by the Inspectors General.” In his opening statement, Chairman Comer emphasized that the Biden Administration’s poor planning and execution in Afghanistan resulted in a botched withdrawal that took the lives of 13 U.S. servicemembers, left Americans stranded, allowed U.S. military equipment to fall into Taliban hands, jeopardized progress made by Afghan women, and damaged the United States’ reputation on the international stage. ”

https://abcnews.go.com/International/gold-star-mother-bidens-conduct-dignified-transfer-ceremony/story?id=102885936

“Briseno added that she felt the president made the encounter “all about him.”

“We had decided as a family that we would not meet with the president, so we were actually in a room on the side,” Barnett emphasized.

The family ultimately decided to go onto the tarmac, where Biden checked his watch multiple times.

“It was just total disrespect,” Barnett said. “It’s beyond disgusting.”

Raddatz recalled a prominent moment during Biden’s exit, where someone in the crowd screamed, “Burn in hell.”

“That was my daughter,” Barnett said. “And she meant it.”

These mothers, along with several other family members of the 13 fallen service members, have been extremely vocal in their calls for transparency and accountability from the Biden administration. Last week, all three were among a group who participated in a roundtable discussion led by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, marking the first time several of these Gold Star families gathered on Capitol Hill. And these grieving families say they will continue to seek answers.”
