TWO PROGNOSTICATIONS: LUMPY WILL NOT RUN AGAIN FOR MAYOR & VOLTRON IS A GONER FOR UP NORTH

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE THE WEEKEND EDITION OCT. 17-9, 2025) — THE PLANET makes two predictions today: (1) Mayor Lumpy will not seek a second term as mayor (2) Council president Voltron will be the new manager for the town of Adams.

The two events appear to be related.

Let’s unpack both scenarios.

EXODUS–In wake of the hushed-up school department scandals, PLURAL, you may have noticed a mass exodus there. Jumpin’ Joe, out as superintendent; Kristen “Tex” Behnke slid down the emergency ramp on the downward-spiraling Bitchfield Jumbo Jet, landing as business manager for the Berkshire Hills Regional District; and PHS principal, Mary “Hear, See, Speak No Evil” Esko, had a vision and booked the next flight out to oblivion. This is to say nothing about the stampede of administrators, teachers, and other staffers out of school department employment. An aside: Ward 7 councilor Help, Help Me Rhonda believes in addition by subtraction. She subtracted herself from the stumblebum council and will be joining the Socloh Department. Of course. She said this in her boring resignation speech at Tuesday’s meeting: “[T]his has been one of the most productive City Councils I have seen in decades.” THE PLANET didn’t know she was blind.

VESUVIUS RUMBLING–As a hunch manager, THE PLANET senses that a gigantic scandal rumbling school side or city side.  Sources inside both buildings speak of last-minute meetings, an increase in the exodus from city employment, resumes flying out of both buildings. We can only guess, but do you think that if this is true, Lumpy might be working overtime to keep things quiet? Plus, the only way Peter White gives up his feeding at the Bitchfield trough is if Mount Vesuvius might blow.

WHITE AS A GHOST–The only reasonable explanation for Voltron getting out is that (a) He been promised a landing spot somewhere else and (b) he knows Lumpy’s a one-and-done for mayor. The Two Petes are two sides of the same bad coin. How close are they? When Lumpy gets an itch, Voltron scratches his ass.

CHATTER ABOUT LUMPY–Now why would Marchetti not run again? Might it be his pending legal situation and/or the lawsuit filed by Teresa May against Marchetti and others.

A refresher on the lawsuit:

SEE NO EVIL: A picture is worth 1,000 words plus a library of hilarity. By the way, this is Mayor Lumpy earlier this week. He’s working on the critical problems in the city.

From iBerkshires, Oct.  30, 2023: Richmond resident Victoria May filed the complaint on Sept. 11 in U.S. District Court in Springfield against Pittsfield Cooperative Bank, its President Jay Anderson, Senior Vice President of Retail Banking Operations Peter Marchetti and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Harry Moore. The lawsuit was first reported by blogger Dan Valenti on PlanetValenti.com.
Marchetti is included in the counts for sex discrimination, creating a hostile work environment, aiding and abetting discriminatory acts, unlawful interference with plaintiff’s rights, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Marchetti is accused of being “allowed to denigrate, harass, and demean (May) both in meetings with others and alone.” May alleges that the treatment she received from Marchetti and the other defendants led to the loss of her job.

No official announcement has been made about any of this. Normally, we would contact the named officials and ask for comment, but they have long ago avoided THE PLANET‘s hot seat. Hence, we don’t bother.

You know what we say: When the phone doesn’t ring, it’s the Two Petes not getting back to us.

The 2-Pete’s Pittsfield politics’ failed leadership was a foregone conclusion from day 1. They openly dislike blogs, social media, free speech, not spending tens of millions of dollars per fiscal year more than similarly sized small cities, such as Westfield, disclosing taxpayer-funded legal reports to the general public, forensic audit(s), and so on.

Congratulations to Councilor Rhonda! The school district is a nice place for her to ease into retirement. Not a scary classroom position of course but some type of coffee gaggle on First Street would suit her perfectly.

Along with Persip she has been and says she will continue to push to spend a minimum of 30 million taxpayer dollars for a new ballpark the voters never got to weigh in on. Why can’t Pittsfield ever seem to get candidates that advocate for the taxpayers? Do any of them ever check to see what how gigantic the city debt is and how much interest taxpayers are paying on it every year? And would Kerwood even allow them to find out if they did show any interest?

The U.S. National Debt topped $38 trillion today (Wednesday, October 22, 2025).

It took only 2 months for the Swamp’s deficit spenders to add $1 trillion to the U.S. National Debt.

The Swamp’s deficit spenders are outpacing U.S. economic growth for many years.

The over 3-weeks and counting U.S. Government Shutdown is costing taxpayers billions of additional federal dollars, which adds more red ink to the U.S. National Debt.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/us-debt-38-trillion-government-shutdown-2025/

But, as blogger Dan Valenti writes, it is all digital number photons bouncing around on federal computer screens.

‘The Power of No’

There is one more important consideration to add to the current debate over Monument Mountain Regional High School and the expenditures that taxpayers are being asked to decide.

That additional consideration is the one already specifically facing Great Barrington’s taxpayers, namely Housatonic Water Company and its problematic water system.

What will be the total effect on Great Barrington’s real estate tax bills should voters decide to underwrite both of these ‘big ticket’ projects?

Can GB’s taxpayers reasonably afford both projects?

With two ‘big-ticket’ projects, how much would GB’s total tax burden magnify the financial strain that already exists for many in Town?

(The cost of living and working in GB, as well as the availability — or lack — of affordable housing have been the subjects of much reportage this year in The Berkshire Eagle and Berkshire Edge.)

The Building Committee of the Berkshire Hills Regional School District proposes spending between $89 million and $152 million (the latter is the Mass. School Building Authority’s estimate) depending upon whether the project is rehabilitation or new construction.
(Part of the $152m for new construction would be offset by an MSBA grant.)

(Observation: Is it possible that the bureaucrats at Mass. School Building Authority are using the same estimating formulas as Mass. Department of Transportation? MDOT initially estimated the cost of replacing Brookside Road Bridge in Great Barrington at less than $4 million before hiking-up that number months later to $55 million. It begs the question whether similar ‘cost inflation’ is at work at MSBA.)

Housatonic’s water system needs repair and upgrade to bring it into compliance with federal standards. Current estimates are that this work will cost tens of millions of dollars (but, like Boston’s ‘Big Dig’, the actual cost figures once ground is broken could go up).

Add to both proposed projects the expense of borrowing the money to make each happen.
(The fine print on the Monument Mountain Building Project website says the loan is to be repaid over 30 years, and that the “current model assumes” an interest rate of 5%. Yet, that assumption is followed by a qualifier: “Actual borrowing costs may change if interest rates, grant awards, or property values change in the future.”
The fine print continues:
“Annual tax impact may fluctuate slightly from year to year, typically starting lower in the early years. Projections assume no increase in assessed property values over time.”
Then there’s this: “Actual borrowing costs may change if interest rates, grant awards, or property values change in the future.”
In Southern Berkshire County, do property values go down?

Is it possible that these two big-ticket projects are simply not affordable, and should be considered unreasonably expensive without federal or state subsidies covering at least 90% of all costs?

Is it also possible that local voters cannot afford to drive up any further local real estate taxes and the costs of living and working in Great Barrington?

Undertaking new projects that are guaranteed to raise property taxes is serious business, and voters proceed at their own peril if they engulf their municipality in so much debt that not only taxes and the cost of living go up, but the character of life and work in that municipality undergoes change.

Will the Southern Berkshire School District still be funding litter boxes in school bathrooms?

For the “Furries”/mentally ill children who believe they are animals?

Maybe add some faux fire hydrants for the “puppies” and scratch posts for the “kittens”? And of course SBSD will need, ……….a few pig pens for the slovenly!

Being Victoria’s lawsuit has survived the several motions to dismiss, the discovery phase has begun.fixer judges Denis Saylor and Kathleen Robertson couldn’t,protect their political hacks – due to case fixing scandal involving Dalton police murder cover up ,of Sherilyn Hayes.

Look for them , to be ” spending more time with family”.

The Co-op has been cleaning house, Dalton branch ( lumpys birthplace) has all new staff
Look for many former employees,to join May or receive advancement, to buy “” I Can’t recall” testimony.

The communications, will be as revealing,as Disgraced MSP Defective Proctor.

Buckle up , think Shitsfield politics is disgusting?
Wait till Dalton’s, hits the headlines!

There are plenty of people walking around with fancy degrees who still can’t manage to chew gum and walk at the same time. A piece of paper doesn’t automatically make someone decent — it just proves they paid tuition.

She’s still the same classless woman she’s always been — convinced she’s above everyone else. What really grates people is that she parades around calling herself a Democrat while showing zero compassion for anyone outside her bubble. She’s smug, self-absorbed, and full of herself — and let’s be honest, she lied straight through her teeth about the Michael Daly mess she stirred up.

Honestly, the school department is the perfect fit for her. She’ll fit right in with the rest of the self-important dead weight collecting paychecks for pretending to care.

Seriously? If Rhonda feels that this city council is some kind of high bar to strive for then why would she not want to be a part of it? And if this is good enough for her I sure would not vote for her, or hire her, for anything else important to me. This attitude is why the city is where it is.

Pull the health insurance and almost none of these people want to, “give back to their community”.

this was an oft used phrase used by Kerwood in his council heyday and it is as hollow today as it was when it would dribble out of his mouth.

I thought CC Prez Wimpy White was the next one to be anointed after Mayor Lumpy? If that’s true, why would he leave for Adams?

It looks like Jimmy, Barry, Linda, and the rest of the GOBSIG gang, better find a new stooge to toss up there and do the cities bidding on their behalf.

Who, is the question? It can’t be a straight or “openly gay” w/m. Those cards have been played already.

With a bunch of taxpayer money already handed over to him hand over fist, I’m betting AJ Enchill, will be their dark horse candidate, no pun intended.

He certainly checks the correct DEI/Woke boxes and has the finances now. Plus, he’s indebted to the GOBSIG’s for their financial windfall bestowed upon him. Translation, they own him.

Argentina is in line for a $20 billion bailout from the Trump administration.

The over 3-weeks-long and counting U.S. Government shutdown is costing taxpayers tens of billions of dollars in additional federal deficit spending, while thousands of federal workers are NOT being paid during the 2025 shutdown.

Are the above factual events “America First”?

At least the Stock Market is near record highs, the billionaires received their huge tax cuts, the elected officials in the Swamp are still being paid, despite 98 percent of them being multimillionaires who don’t really need the government income, federal government deficit spending is at an all time high, not including the Covid Pandemic Era’s red ink, the U.S. National Debt took a little over 2 months to go from $37 trillion to $38 trillion, and The White House is getting a brand new ballroom.

It is worse than Jimmy’s Rolodex, Sara’s Aberration, Linda’s Spending, and the 2-Pete’s “One Pittsfield” tagline COMBINED!
