WANT TO BE RICH? SAVE, TRACK, INVEST, AND THINK LONG TERM

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE MONDAY OCT. 6, 2025) — THE PLANET almost never gives financial advice except if asked, and we will offer our views. Recently, someone asked us to do just that. It got us to thinking and gave us feedstock for a column.

My advice across the board, especially to young people though it applies to everyone, first is to save. Especially if you have time on your side, you can’t begin early enough. Second, closely examine and track your spending. How much is necessary and how much discretionary? If you quit your daily Starbucks fix and make your brew at home, you save maybe $30-40 a week. Times that by 52 and you have the beginning of a next egg. Third, invest. Unless you think America will be destroyed with no functioning economy, put some dollars into the stock market.

Do this, and by the time you’re ready to seriously begin lowering your handicap on the golf course, you’ll have enough for a comfortable retirement.

———- ooo ———-

THE PLANET reads with interest financial news (WSJ, Forbes, Barron’s), and we can say with near certainty that for Massachusetts, the economy is going to get worse. When you combine a receding population, an influx of illegals, hordes on the grift, one of the highest costs of living in America, and a one-party government completely out of touch with “regular folk,” it adds to sluggish growth … at best.

Forget about Bitchfield. Two-Pete government has proven outwardly hostile to small business, there is a lack of private dollars, and the tax rate is highest in the state when you factor in discretionary income and other demographics. Moreover, city spending is out of control, with little transparency and nil accountability, and the public school system is a disaster.

As for us, we keep our eggs in many baskets, not the least of which is the U.S. stock market. The historical pattern doesn’t lie. In the short term, the market will fluctuate. Over time, though, the market will rise. If you try to “time” the market, you’ll lose. If you stay in it for the long haul, you’ll gain.

THE PLANET allocates our market funds selectively. That we will keep close to the vest, but we will make some recommendations. For the allocation of equities, we like:

  • Information technology–50.8%
  • Consumer discretionary–14.2%
  • Communication services–12.5%
  • Health care–7.5%
  • Industrials–5.5%
  • Consumer staples–2.7%
  • Miscellaneous–the remainder

You notice that we advise a tad more than half your investment in information technology. Let’s be more specific:

  • Seminconductors–19.5%
  • Systems software–16.5%
  • Technology hardware, storage, and peripherals–8.5%
  • Application software–4.2%
  • Electronic manufacturing services–1.4%
  • Miscellaneous–0.7%  Of course, take this with a grain of gold. Stocks are not insured by the FDIC or NCUA. There are no guarantees.  Bottom line is, you’re gambling, but self-education with respect to financial information and trends will improve the odds in your favor.

Use your wits, investigate, and invest. What is there to lose … except everything?

My financial advice would be to invest heavily in Chinese electrical vehicles, particularly BYD.

Also, Chinese semi conductors and chip production.

I would not be investing a dime in any American company at this time as the way over valued stock market bubble could burst at any time. It teeters as we speak. Do not rely on the usual American financial news sources for your investment advice as they may be compromised. Independant outside sources are telling a much different story.

I liked what blogger Dan Valenti wrote about the pseudo-financial “state” of Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

It couldn’t be any worse with the 2-Pete’s Pittsfield politics pounding peoples’ purses, and persecuting people who oppose their failed leadership.

My financial advice is to own one’s own home, and have a positive cash flow to save money and enjoy life.

and Marchetti makes it so easy to do in Pittsfield. And once he gets rid of those pesky homeless folk the rest of us will be so rich we will be happy to pay higher and higher taxes. Cuz at that point it will become fun.

Massachusetts is encouraging a huge gap between the have and the have-nots. Democrat politicians are trying to convince people they want everyone to be equal, but their idea of equality, as in all socialist countries, is to have everyone equally poor and dependent on government. In Berkshire County there are long wait times for medical and dental appointments unless you are wealthy and then they will bend over backwards to get you in quickly. So this “Equality” agenda is now becoming a health issue since most people are waiting in long lines for care and their health is suffering.

State governments spend over 50 percent of their fiscal year operating budgets on public healthcare. The fed’s spend over 34 percent.

We are talking about trillions of our tax dollars per fiscal year.

It looks like a SCAM!

NIMBY is the democRAT mantra.

Have you read any recent stories in the Eagle about the illegal aliens state rep, Tricia Farley-Country Buffet (d-illegal aliens) and/or BCC Specialist, Linda “Flat” Tyer-Clairmont, taking advantage of failed Gov Maura Healey’s taxpayer paid, adopt an illegal alien or three, into your home.

No, me either. I‘m kinda of shocked. They helped orchestrate the illegal alien invasion into Bitchfield and Berkshire County, for “grant money.” No accountability for how that money was spent either…..

TFCB even helped them get MA DL’s to ILLEGALLY vote, I mean drive. Silly me.

Didja sees Pet Hegseth, part time Fox news reporter, part time secretary of WAR dress down our military calling them FAT Beardos? Said it right to the generals faces he did. He disrespected the generals of his own department of defense by calling them FAT and then his Commander in Chief, the head guy, Fatter than all of them, came out and piled on. The same guy that dodged the military and then called Vietnam veterans “suckers and losers” Gotta wonder how willing these guys will follow him into war huh? Gotta wonder how this will effect recruitment huh?

Did you see the 250th anniversary celebration of the Navy? Those guys cheered Trump on like crazy. They even did the Trump Dance. They will be the ones fighting any war and they respect their Commander-in-Chief. The generals are a somber bunch so I didn’t expect a lot of emotion coming from them. The message from Trump to the generals was to keep the Woke agenda out of the military. Trump is right and I think the generals got the message. I’m sure some of them are political and they are the ones who didn’t like what Trump and Hegseth were saying. Everybody in the military should be physically fit.

So you missed the irony of the Generals being called fat and then the corpulent president comes waddling out to chastise them some more?

The president, who never served one day in a combat zone dressing down generals with 30 or 40 years of service and wearing combat medals?

That went over your head?

Tell me you’ve never been in the military, without telling me you’ve never been in the military.

First off, the President is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces. He’s not held to military standards and/or the UCMJ. He’s the Commander in Chief-THE BOSS!!

Second, Pete Hegseth’s dressing down of the fat generals and admirals, and other fat military members, was music to my ears. The military has standards. When YOU SIGN your military commitment, YOU ARE AGREEING to adhere to their standards.

I don’t remember you posting anything on here about President Autopen’s Surgeon General, Roger “Rachel” Levine.

Not only was HE fat, but HE thought HE was a SHE.

Health and Mental Illness was ok with you, but Trump and Hegseth calling this issue out bothers you…

The left-loons (like Meanwhile) ponder why the democRATS are polling at 19% among Americans.

Gee, I wonder why?

Who was running the USA 2021-Jan 2025? Not Biden/Harris!

I remember former Sec of Defense Loyd and fruit loop General Millie, under misdirection of the Biden’s string puller puppeteers, botch the Afghanistan withdrawl.

The Afghanistan chaos resulted in: the murders of 13 US servicemen, the abandonment of US citizens still in Afghanistan, and gifting the Taliban billions in state of the art weapons systems and pallets of US currency.

Upon the return of the fallen servicemen’s remains, Biden then disrespected and insulted the Gold Star families gathered in mourning. These families still have scorn for Mr Biden.

The weapons gifted to the Taliban, made their way to Iran then to Hamas in Gaza by May 2023 (reported by…NBC!). Those weapons were used in the Oct 7th 2023 terrorist attacks upon Israel.

P.S. Joe Biden holds the record, for most military deferments by any POTUS.

Many of us remember spending a few dollars at the former “The Arcade,” on East Street, in Bitchfield, back in the day.

It was also known as “The Crud,” too. That was because your hands would get a black layer of grime on them from playing with all of the nicotine drenched buttons and joysticks on the video games.

Why I bring this up? A new arcade will be opening up on Tyler Street soon.

Tyler Street Arcade to bring games, family fun and nostalgia to Pittsfield | Business | berkshireeagle.com

I wish them the best, but unfortunately, have seen this movie before. I’ll point out a few key points from the article and let you draw your own conclusions:

*Store Hours (11A-11P)
*Location, location, location (Tyler Street)
*Gunplay not uncommon in that area
*Gang Activity
*Nighttime
*Criminal Activity (Robbery, Drug Dealing, Prostitution)
*Illegal Aliens/Homeless/Junkies in and around area
*Store Hours (after dark)
*Wintertime (video games are not a big draw to pull people outside).

But hey, just remember the infamous words of our former mayor, Linda “Flat” Tyer-Clairmont, “people from outside of the Berkshires, will be jealous of our diversity and inclusiveness.”

Best of luck…….maybe apply for one of the grants the Berkshire Black Economic Council (BBEC) offers? They are a strictly-taxpayer (paid for) funded “business” that hands out “grants,” but offers no product(s) or ROI, in case you didn’t know about them.

“Pinball Pete” (Arlos) would be proud. But the 2-Pete’s Pittsfield politics give the fictional Kapanski’s and small businesses a tough time of it.

What else could anyone ask for?

An Arcade, Pot Shops, Liquor Stores, Bars, Lottery Tickets, the A Mart on North Street, sky high city spending, taxes and fees, PCB’s, Level 5, Group 11 public schools, social services agencies, political insiders who are career politicians – some of whom live in mansions in Pittsfield’s elitist Gated Community, the Wahconah Park boondoggle, homeless residents doing (their) business by storefronts, no forensic audit(s), cooked books, creative accounting practices, FREE CASH….

Let’s unpack that lazy jab, “You can’t sell books to anarchists.” It’s an attempt at irony that collapses under the weight of its own misunderstanding.

Anarchism at its core isn’t about chaos or freeloading; it’s about voluntary exchange, mutual aid, and autonomy without coercion. An anarchist rejecting state control doesn’t mean they reject trade, it means they reject exploitation. There’s a significant difference between mutual exchange and capitalist commodification, and anyone using that line as a punchline clearly hasn’t done their reading. Ironic, considering we’re talking about books.
You absolutely can sell books to anarchists. In fact, anarchists are some of the most well-read, theory-driven individuals you’ll ever meet. They value education, literature, and discourse. What they oppose is a system where knowledge becomes a luxury instead of a right.

So the statement isn’t clever or insightful. It’s the intellectual equivalent of graffiti written in crayon.

You’ve built an ego around intelligence you don’t have. You mistake arrogance for insight and noise for knowledge. You don’t argue to learn, you argue to hear yourself speak. You’re not wise — you’re just loud.

So, let me get this straight, or at least try to.

According to you TSC, I am “always angry and frustrated,” because I’m “mad at women in pants and males in dresses” This is all because “Trump and Fox have trained” me to focus on “fake issues.”

By “fake issues,” do you mean:

*Crossfire Hurricane (illegally spying on duly-elected US President)
*Arctic Frost (illegally spying on conservative US Senators)
*Russian Hoax
*Burying Hunter’s Laptop
*Killary’s 33,000 emails
*J6
*J6 Committee
*274 planted FIB Agents on Capitol grounds J6
*Illegal Alien Invasion
*US Veterans kicked out of housing in favor of illegal aliens.
*Illegal Aliens getting US taxpayer paid: housing, food, medical care, education, employment.
*Illegal Aliens illegally getting DL’s and the illegally voting.

You mean those “fake issues” TSC?

Without any mention of TDS, tell me one thing the democRATS are doing to help the American taxpayers?

And don’t give me the “save healthcare” hor$eshit argument either. My Health Insurance rates have gone up exponentially since the ACA was enacted by Bathhouse Barry and the democRATS.

You’re confusing nationality with gender to make a bad joke sound intellectual. The problem is, it doesn’t hold up to even basic logic.

No one is claiming there’s an Angolan gender or a Serbocroatian gender. Gender identity isn’t determined by borders, ethnicity, or passports. It’s an internal sense of self, influenced by both biology and social experience. Cultures around the world have recognized more than two genders for centuries, long before Western science even caught up. The only reason you think gender diversity is new is because you just started hearing about it in English.
If you actually understood the difference between biological sex, which is not binary in nature, and gender identity, you’d know how ridiculous your comparison sounds. What you’re doing isn’t making a point; it’s performing ignorance and calling it wit.

You aren’t challenging ideas, you’re proving why critical thinking should be a licensed activity.

I have noticed alot of Pete White signs in yards. It just so happens that most of the yards are owned by city of Pittsfield employees or their families. Pete White must be going around making promises of big raises as long as the city employees vote for more of the same. So sense the city employees who I believe are the biggest group of voters in Pittsfield, because non city employeed citizens dont turn out and vote. We can expect more of the same here in Pittsfield for the foreseeable future. If you are interested in becoming financially secure in the future, leaving Pittsfield is a good start.

White is a lock. If he were to lose someone would over rule the vote and appoint him. His fealty is paramount to the agenda. Never has there been a council president as loyal to a mayor and disloyal to the people who voted him into office as this guy. Prolly gonna get a plaque one day to hang in his den. A golden proclamation and statue in Park Square. And then elected the next mayor.

I dislike how accurate this observation has proven to be. The issue with White is not merely political — it’s behavioral. He exhibits patterns of vindictiveness, deception, and manipulation that are not immediately apparent until the damage is done.

When I first met him years ago, I saw someone who appeared kind, capable, and seemingly determined not to let personal limitations define him. I respected that. However, it’s become evident that his entire identity is now tethered to his position within the city. His public life — the restaurant posts, event photos, and performative engagements — appear to compensate for an otherwise empty private existence. Frankly, I find it sad.

Since assuming the role of Council President, his demeanor has shifted dramatically. The humility he once possessed has been replaced by self-importance and poor temperament. I’ve been informed that he often attributes his conduct to “sensory challenges” when the reality is a simple inability to manage authority responsibly. Power has inflated his ego, not his effectiveness, and his leadership has fallen well below the standard expected of a fair and impartial mediator.

Exactly what his psychologist might tell him. Power does things to some people. Obviously he is not the only one.

Opposition to “Petesfield” isn’t limited to one side of the political spectrum. Many progressive residents have lost faith as well. If people could set aside partisan divides and come together with a shared purpose — to hold White, Amuso, and Persip accountable — we could restore real balance. The city deserves to be reminded of their voting records and the results that followed. What meaningful change has occurred under their leadership?

I would genuinely welcome a real, respectful conversation centered on this topic — one where we can identify common ground and focus on what we actually want to achieve together.

What if we conducted our own audit of these individuals and their records? Then we could use verifiable facts — not emotion or hearsay — to present meaningful points to the community.

National politics has everyone trapped in this perpetual state of division and hate, and it’s working exactly as intended: to distract us from what’s happening locally. We’re so fixated on federal drama that we’ve lost sight of our own backyard.

If you choose not to vote, that’s your right. But we also need to make sure others don’t keep voting these same people in. Sitting behind keyboards slinging insults accomplishes nothing. If that’s where you choose to sit, then at least ask yourself — what action can I take from here that actually supports my cause?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The global economy is holding up better than expected despite major shocks such as President Donald Trump’s tariffs, but the head of the International Monetary Fund says that resilience may not last.
“Buckle up,” Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said in a speech at a think tank Wednesday. “Uncertainty is the new normal and it is here to stay.”

That goes back before Hunter’s pardon by the “Autopen”.

What in the world would you guys do if you could not respond to every criticism with “whataboutisms”? Deny, deflect, look over there, not over here mentality.

What about Obama and Hillary and Biden and Teddy Roosevelt? And why did the caveman invent a wheel that wasn’t even round? What about that?

A Quick Look showed she was licking her chops when Biden / democrats stole the election in 2020. US is the biggest share holder in the IMF. As a big greener she wanted Biden to join the ParisClimate accord along with other green climate change bs with millions more from the US. Oh, she studied at the named Karl Marx institute during her time there, which changed to a new name. Yeah, no for advice.

I listened to the Pete White interview….

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxcTqj4Bg9Y

Sarcasm: He is wonderful, while everyone else on social media and blogs should be as great as he is in Pittsfield politics.

Did you know? When Pete White pastes wings on PIGS, they fly all around Pittsfield….

But when blogger Dan Valenti does the same, the same PIGS poop on North Street in front of the downtown storefronts, while the other Pete with the BIG beer belly proposes to fine them for sleeping on public property with no other alternatives.

Please re-elect Pete White to another term on the Pittsfield City Council so that he can vote to raise taxes and fees, spend tens of millions of dollars more than similarly sized small cities, and be next in line for Mayor.

The Trump administration has already missed a self-imposed deadline this week to announce its plan to help US soybean farmers. The gridlock on Capitol Hill means that the delays are likely to continue.
The shutdown is furloughing administration staffers needed to finalize and implement the farmer aid that had been promised to be unveiled on Tuesday, as well as putting on ice any additional money that lawmakers may need to provide.
The limbo also comes as farmers are saying the varied dollar amounts being publicly floated won’t be enough, even when the money eventually comes through.
American Soybean Association president Caleb Ragland recently appeared on Yahoo Finance and noted that proposed ideas for $10 billion to $14 billion in aid are akin to “putting a Band-Aid on an open wound.”
“We are bleeding economically,” he added, saying eventual relief will come “by not having tariffs that are in place,” referring to both President Trump’s tariffs and the countermeasures from foreign nations.

The congressmen and senate however, are all getting paid on time.
Do not book that flight to see your family for Thanksgiving though, might not get there. Unpaid air traffic controllers are calling in sick. And the secretary of Transportation is threatening to fire them all. There is a current shortage so that should be helpful when pay is restored.

(Reuters) -JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon warned of a heightened risk of a significant correction in the U.S. stock market within the next six months to two years, the BBC reported.

“I am far more worried about that than others,” Dimon said, adding there were a “lot of things out there” creating an atmosphere of uncertainty, pointing to risk factors including geopolitical tensions, fiscal spending, and global remilitarization.

Give yourself a reality check please. Try to find out what “conflicts” he is talking about and the details thereof. Because HE seems to be the only one who knows about them. And if you will please list all eight of them here (or even just one) and the name of one other person (besides Foxy news folk) who says it is true.

Dementia is a sad thing and I am not making fun of Donald for this but his stories are negatively affecting millions of people and should be corrected.

Thank you for your attention to this matter

I read a news article:

https://franklinobserver.town.news/g/franklin-town-ma/n/345991/new-mma-report-sees-municipal-revenue-crisis-statewide

It explained that Massachusetts municipalities are in a “Perfect Storm” that placed them on a path of financial unsustainability.

Where is “PAC Man”: U.S. Representative Richie Neal? Where are “Rubber Stamper”: State Senator Paul Mark, and the “Career Politicians”: State Representatives John Barrett III, Tricia Farley Bouvier, Leigh Davis?

This a “Systems FAIL” crisis. Western Massachusetts’ needs for state and federal funding, social services programs, public education, transportation, healthcare, and so on, are greater than the other regions of the commonwealth because their is no real economy there without government spending.

Meanwhile, the federal government is in a shutdown. A majority of government shutdowns have occurred during Trump’s presidencies. The federal government is run by billionaires and multimillionaires who do NOT understand how tough it is out there for us common people and the communities that we live in.

After nearly a decade spent studying the most famous stock market crash in history, financial journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin warns that the Wall Street of today echoes the market of 1929, when highs preceded a massive slump, leading to the Great Depression.
Artificial intelligence and technology have contributed to a remarkable boom in recent years. But, Sorkin said, today’s economy is being propped up by the AI boom, and it’s too soon to tell if this is a sugar rush, a short-term and unsustainable boost to the markets. But, Sorkin is positive there’s a crash coming.
