(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDItION, OCT. 28-30, 2016) — Think about this when you make a mark on Question 2, which would allow up to 12 new charter schools in Massachusetts. If the public schools in Pittsfield were doing their job successfully, there would be no push for alternatives — that is, competition. As it is, too many public schools systems, with Pittsfield being Exhibit A, have a racket going.
They’ve cornered elections via low turnout. This enables them to put into office compliant politicians too scared to represent We the People. At contract time, the Pittsfield School Department (PSD) and the United Educators of Pittsfield (UEP) bring out the hammer, threatening to club out of political existence any official who tries to upset the gravy train. The PSD and teachers know city public schools have failed miserably. Why else would they be so loon crazy against a few more charters?
A key aspect to maintaining the status quo is to quash even the chance of bad or embarrassing news leaking out. The PSD has little to worry about from the Mainstream Media, led in Pittsfield by its compromised daily newspaper, The Boring Broadsheet. Local radio? Forget it. Commercial websites? THE PLANET personally knows electronic scribes who itch to do real journalism, the investigative kind, but their publishers and business departments rule their editors, and the editors have no choice but to “play ball” or be out of a job.
Running for Daylight
Then there’s this board. THE PLANET is wholly owned and financed by ourselves. We allow no outside influence. We cannot be bought, spindled, coerced, controlled, forced, or constrained. Moreover, we bring with us a lifetime in cutting-edge professional journalism in print, radio, TV, and cyberspace. If there’s a chance of a local story seeing daylight, it is with us — sadly, with us only.
And so we bring you this plaintive plea from a dismayed parent regarding a serious outbreak of lice at Conte Community School. The PSD and School Committee don’t want you to know about the infestation and the even worse cover-up, so don’t tell them you read it on THE PLANET.
Here’s the note:
There is currently an outbreak of lice at Conte School in the Pre-K program that has infested more than half the class. We discovered our daughter had been infected over the weekend. When talking to the school Monday to advise she wouldn’t be in school due to us having to continue to mitigate the issue with our daughter and prevent the spread in our house my wife was informed that the school would not send letters out to the rest of the school to have them check their kids and prevent further spread, advising them it wasn’t their policy. The class was checked only after my wife contacted the school. Several more kids were discovered to have it but not sent home.
Since then several more kids have acquired the pesky bugs. No disinfection or delousing has taken place to our knowledge in the classroom. Emails to the superintendent came back supporting the school not wanting to notify the rest of the school community. They just want to sweep the bugs under the rug. We’ve learned from speaking with my wife’s coworkers and other parents that this is a common occurrence at the school throughout the year and the school could care less.
The superintendent and head school nurse described it as a nuisance and not a health issue. Their take on the issue was that it wouldn’t kill her. More than a nuisance when the treatments cost over $40 and my wife having to take a day off of work plus the trauma caused to our daughter of the delousing process. But they are all for the children at the PPS. — FED UP PARENT

So here we have caught red-handed the $200,000-a-year do-nothing Pittsfield school superintendent, the lamentable Jason “Jake” JIV McCandless. A friendly PSD source told THE PLANET that JIV told Kerry Light, Conte Community School principal in effect, “Hey, yoose don’t know nuttin’ yoose don’t see nuttin’ n’ yoose don’t say nuttin’.” PSC chair Kathy “Lady Boots” Yon, informed sources tell THE PLANET, also “did what she could” to see the story didn’t come out. Guess they didn’t figure on THE PLANET.
Keep that in mind when you vote YES on Question 2, because that’s what kind of school department you have in Pittsfield, one run by academic light weights and scholastic imposters.

Could it be that the FBI knows wiki-leaks is about to dump the entire 33,000 emails that Hillary Clinton willfully and illegally bleached…. In an effort to keep the public from reading them can shut down any website publishing them for the public to read, under the guise that this is evidence that is under FBI investigation therefore not available to the public at large?
Comey is in her back pocket. He went from being thee most respected head of the FBI to the most untrusted disrepected head to ever hold the position. Is this all just being engineered to keep people from reading those bleached emails?
Of course we shall see in the coming days what is really happening here.

The vote “No” on Question 2 people will be canvassing the city to make sure sure people vote their way. There was an article about this today on iberkshires. Make sure you tell them you will be voting “Yes” on Question 2 if they happen to pass through your neighborhood. Linda Tyer and Tricia are leading the charge not to mention boatloads of school associated people. They need to keep the money flowing to their overpaid salaries since we know it’s not going to the kids. When they have to go to local stores and ask for handouts for school supplies for the kids, there is something really wrong with this school department. The budge increases each year, but the kids have no school supplies.

I have 2 disabled relatives and a full time job that takes all of my time. Right now this is all I can do. Wish I could be out there canvassing from door to door, but my life doesn’t allow me the time to do that. Yet all of you progressives loved him when Comey let Hillary get away with her crimes. Now that new information has surfaced which by law he needs to address, you don’t like him. There is practically mutiny among the ranks of FBI agents now who think that Comey made the wrong decision back in July and that there was more than enough information back then to prosecute her that is until Bill Clinton met with the AG on the plane.
No, there is more to this story and the public needs to know so we don’t have two Clintons going down in flames while president by being impeached. I was also reading yesterday that Clinton could potentially be blackmailed if she becomes president because of all of the classified information that could have been stolen.
One good thing about being an independent is that you are not psychologically married to a particular party. One can see things from both sides. I don’t have to just accept whatever my party is doing as wonderful. I don’t have to accept my party’s candidate if he or she does not feel right to me.
