DEMS HAVE ‘WEAPONIZED’ IMPEACHMENT: GUEST COLUMN BY DEREK HUNTER

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY DEC. 16, 2019) — When THE PLANET or anyone other analyst speaks of democracy’s erosion, we refer to a process of cheapening a political and governmental system going back generations and assuming its virulent beginning with the presidency of Franklin Roosevelt.

FDR instituted a version of the presidency that elevated it to a form of, what exactly? Constitutional “monarchy” sans king? Secular “divine right?” Autocracy? Dictatorship? Each president since has in some form or another built on Roosevelt’s work.  FDR did not “save” the country from The Great Depression. WWII did that. His lean toward socialism made sacrosanct Big Brother Government, who would protect us from cradle to grave. Today we would no more question government programs such as Social Security or the ruinous taxation of entrepreneurial success than we would protest technocracy by going 360-Amish and swearing off computers. Try that in 2019.

The imperial presidency in turn drove similar movements in the federal legislative and judicial branches. It would take anything from a monograph at least to a multi-volume tome to explore this fascinating and lamentable demise of “democracy” — and please spare us lectures on the difference between theoretical “republicanism” and “democracy.” These branches of government now turn exclusively on majority-party power. When the GOP had sway, they impeached President Bill Clinton for lying about a blow job and robbed Democrat Al Gore of a presidency. Democrats have been returning the favor with interest, most lately via the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

This disintegration of governmental America has left us with a political life keynoted by hostility and a cheapening of how we got about public discourse. Sadly, it has filtered down to the local level. Somewhere along the way, the nation’s highest office on all levels of government — the office of Private Citizen, has been cheapened and devalued worse than 1923 Weimar Reichmarks.

With that preface, THE PLANET presents a guest column by colleague Derrick Hunter. In this piece, Hunter discusses the Trump impeachment with an eye on “The Cheapening Effect.”

———- ooo ———-

Impeachment Has Been ‘Weaponized’

By DEREK HALL

It was one of the longest telegraphed punches in political history, but that doesn’t make it any less of a cheap shot. Just 19 minutes after he took the oath of office, at 12:19 on January 20th, 2017, the Washington Post ran a piece entitled, “The campaign to impeach President Trump has begun.” Donald Trump finished his inauguration address at 12:18.

From that moment forward, Democrats have been working toward what they’ll likely achieve this week: voting articles of impeachment out of the House of Representatives, branding an asterisk next to Donald J. Trump’s name in the history books.

They’ve never accepted the results of the 2016 election. They’d not only measured the drapes in the Oval Office, Democrats had visions of new liberal Supreme Court Justices dancing in their heads for a year. Those dirty, smelly Americans living between their superiors on the coasts ruined their plans, and this is part of the payback.

In their wrath, Democrats have cheapened the important power of Congress to remove a truly lawless executive from a just, but rarely exercised occurrence to the equivalent of a vote of “no confidence” in a parliamentary government.

Now that impeachment has been weaponized over dislike of the person occupying the office, why wouldn’t the opposition party impeach any president in the future over anything? Democrats have been unbound by facts, evidence, and even reality in their Ahab-esque pursuit of President Trump. As soon as the articles of impeachment are adopted by the House, any stigma that would be attached to an electoral-strategy based impeachment is gone. Republicans would be foolish to unilaterally disarm and surrender the tactic in the future.

The cheapening of Congressional impeachment power is just the latest in a series of actions Democrats have taken to water-down once-powerful, and meaningful, charges and institutions. And each one, each “victory” for the left, damages the country further.

Being called a “racist” used to carry weight; it was not tossed around lightly. When someone or something was called racist, it was met with a seriousness by the public, unless and until it was disproven. In that, the left saw opportunity.

Al Sharpton pioneered calling everything racist and Jesse Jackson perfected the art of the shakedown. Both positioned themselves, with the help of fellow travelers in the media, not only as accusers but absolvers as well. Forgiveness was only a donation check and symbolic gesture away. Both “Reverends” were afforded fabulously wealthy lifestyles, having their humiliations and shortcomings glossed over or ignored by the press, and Sharpton ended up with a cable “news” show. They also served, at different times, as rings Democratic candidates had to kiss if they wanted their party’s presidential nomination, with Al currently filling that seat.

But each false charge, while tightening their grip on power and fattening their wallets, helped drown out real charges and hurt real victims. A real cry for justice gets lost in a chorus of opportunists.

Take “racist” and replace it with whatever alternative “ist” or “phobe” word you like; lather, rinse, repeat.

I’d like to think we reached a crescendo with the rash of fake hate crimes claimed after Trump’s victory, but liberals have not slowed down one bit. Nor will they. Ever. Unless, maybe, they’re held to their own standards; forced to live the way they’re forcing on everyone else.

Unfortunately, for the country, Democrats have taken us to a dark place. By cheapening impeachment to the point that it is nothing more than an electoral strategy, when it is needed – and no nation is perfect, it likely will be needed again – it will go over like the twelfth time “wolf” was cried and a president who should be removed from office for the sake of the republic will survive.

There is nothing Democrats won’t do to win next year. Remember that feeling you had on November 9, 2016, about 2:30 am, when the media could no longer pretend Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin were “too close to call” and they had to admit Donald Trump was President-elect? Remember the looks on the faces of those Democrats, both elected and masquerading as journalists; the shock and horror? They want revenge for that; for failing them, for defying them.

Nothing short of a major outbreak of conscience or love of country is going to stop Democrats from taking the country down this destructive path, and everything they’ve done during the Trump administration shows they’re immune.

Derek Hunter is the host of a free daily podcast (subscribe!), host of a daily radio show on WCBM in Maryland, and author of the book, Outrage, INC., which exposes how liberals use fear and hatred to manipulate the massesFollow him on Twitter at @DerekAHunter.

———- ooo ———-

We thank Hunter for his piece. THE PLANET hopes it will help stimulate a vigorous debate on a vital public issue.

So many raises approved by the committee. Yon is the leader of education in Pittsfield Ma.Yon Tyer White Caccamo. Jason Mccandless….Joseph Curtis….Kristian Behnke have required without their consent that 350 students through no choice of their own have to live 8 hours s day in their developmental years from age 5 till 12 in a building built on a toxic swamp called GEs former chemical dump.Mr. Marchetti has access to all information on that dump side. Councilor Moon and Caccamo want to be a green clean city. These kids need Councilor Moon.Maybe she can be the new voice on Toxic Schools.Mr Marchetti knows whats in that dump….Mayor Tyer please move the Schools Administration center to Allendale school. This is councilor Moons white elephant. The more she speaks on any subject the more we see her Toxic Allendale School.

If the United States goes dark, the rest of the world will quickly follow. This path we are going down will lead to nothing good. I was in a local restaurant recently being forced to listen to a man in his 70’s exclaiming loudly that President Trump is going down. It’s only a matter of time. They are going to get him he says. He was totally uncaring about whether other people in the restaurant felt the way he did and I was sorely tempted to start talking equally as loud about what a great job President Trump is doing, but decided to not sink to that level. I saw him leaving the restaurant, a relief to many of us, and he had a very expensive vehicle so not a poor man. It reminded me that it’s often the wealthy people on the left, disgruntled Hillary supporters, who are driving this impeachment circus. They don’t care about the reasons why so many Americans voted for President Trump. As you said, they really believe their political ideology of Progressive politics is superior and they do not respect anyone who thinks otherwise. In fact they look down upon them as being deplorable for not accepting the vision of total government control that they have for this country. They use all the words ending in “ism” to divide the country and keep everyone in their separate camps.

Personally I believe Dan is pretty tolerant as far as the responses go to the articles he puts out. Sometimes things go to far and this site would turn in to a Topix type site, God forbid.that. I’myself have been guilty of taking it a bit to far and would have had no issues if my posts were deleted. I was warned on Twitter and Facebook for far less . I hope Trump is impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives and convicted by the U.S. Senate! Down with Trump! Trump is similar to Hitler. Trump had neo-nazi’s work for his campaign and administration, such as Stephen Bannon, Sebastian Gorka, and Stephen Miller. Trump called the neo-nazi’s at the Charlottesville, Virginia hate gathering “very fine people”. Just thinking about it all makes my stomach turn.

The plan of the far left Progressives for this country is just like Nazi Germany where voices are silenced who do not follow the agenda, government has total control over the people, and certain groups of people are demonized because of their color, in this case white people. There is no real justice system because certain people who are protected by the media and their supporters can get away with anything. The far left is allowing so many cities to descend into crime and chaos because of their policies of looking the other way on certain crimes. This chaos will only spread if they win in 2020 since they will then turn to the American people and say look at all the chaos in this country (which they helped to create) we need to do a total transformation of America with ourselves in charge of course.

What Trump supporters dont understand is Trump. His ego tells him last spring that he wins in 2020 if he can get something on the former respected vice president. He stops military support of the ukraine as people die and Russia maneuvers to squeeze a desperate newly elected President to announce a investigation into Biden. This is America a not so great example anymore with a crooked leader who feels this is OK in his America. As Trump supporters continue to look for another reason to let New Yorks manipulator of the media off the hook .Why are they letting him off the hook?Because he said so…..I wish Trump supporters would be honest and just say out loud this is our version of America being great…..Bye Bye America Lied

The United States Constitution indicates that in the event of impeachment, senators are to act in an impartial, unbiased fashion while reviewing the evidence. Moscow Mitch has indicated he supports no evidence and will “…coordinate directly with the White House.” Hmm. McConnell doesn’t sound impartial and unbiased. Plus, his wife really works for Trump. Isn’t McConnell a Republican and not a Democrat?

Lindsay Graham has said he doesn’t need to see evidence, his mind is made up, and has been working directly with Trump on impeachment. That’s certainly not unbiased. Oh, and by the way, Graham’s a Republican too. So, please let’s not fill our feedbags with this right wing baloney. Because when the shoe is on the other foot – and let’s go examine the Clinton impeachment – Republicans, notably the two referenced herein, sang a totally different tune.

But it’s Democrats destroying this country, right? Oh, I’m sorry. That doesn’t fit the right wing narrative does it?

It is this nonsensical crap from the far right and the far left that have dragged this country to the precipice and our enemies recognize that it’s only going to take a nudge to finally send us over the edge. It’s long past due that we start to realize that it’s providing a forum for guest columnists like today’s that’s helping to wipe out this democracy.

However, all of us that follow and love the Planet know that Dan, who always says that he gives both sides the same opportunity, will offer this space for the opposing viewpoint and have another guest columnist in the near future. Only this time from the far left.

Rashida Tlaib Blames Black Nationalist’s Jersey City Killing Spree on ‘White Supremacy’
Mairead McArdle
National ReviewDecember 12, 2019, 12:22 PM EST
Democratic Representative Rashida Tlai on Wednesday blamed “white supremacy” for Tuesday’s deadly shooting in Jersey City perpetrated by a couple with suspected ties to a black supremacist group.

“This is heartbreaking. White supremacy kills,” the Michigan Democrat wrote in a since-deleted tweet addressing the shooting. Tlaib deleted her tweet later on Thursday.

The foolishness of Clarance Fanto
Fanto wrote a piece about bomb threats and racism and Facebook reports of violence at monument mountain.
He asks that we believe the administration over reports from parents. No thank you.
Many know that the ongoing racism and violence and monument mountain and the BHRSD has been covered up for years. They bury it under claims that the students deserve privacy, they hide the rampant drug abuse and sexual assaults to keep the tuition and choice students coming. They are so desperate to get a vote on a new high school and to absorb other districts into the fold they are ignoring the violence and growing racism in the hallways at BHRSD.
It’s strange that the Eagle who didn’t question for a moment the claims of untold rapes and sexual assaults at Williams, or who ran with a story of an extremely violent hate crime at Simon’s Rock now ask the public to believe in the administration of BHRSD.
If Fanto can chase down salacious stories and the a eagle can publish them to sell papers, when there is no founding in reality for said stories, why now should we believe the Eagle when they run PR for Berkshire Hills?
As a parent with two children at Berkshire Hills I’ve seen the problem and the lies first hand. No Fanto, you have no credibility in this. You’ve lost our trust.

The impeachment is weaponized because the President is not above but is equal to the law. So he has the equal right to not answer subpenas from congress and he has an equal right to hold back aid from Ukrane to get information against his political rivels. Trump has good relation’s with Russia and he support’s Russia in it’s war with Ukrane so is his perogative to try to get help from Ukrane to help him win the next election.

Derek Hall needs to read a little economics. FDR’s programs were important in lifting the country out of a depression caused by restrictive monetary policy ,trade restrictions and world-wide economic collapse. WWII was the biggest and most effective “social” program that finished the job. Before Social Security, a disproportionate share of the elderly were poor; before the various work programs the unemployment rate was around 20%; before the TVA much of the south was not electrified. The Hoover Dam is a real achievement that is stunning even today. (I love visiting the Valley of Fire and then the Dam). Unlike much of Europe, the Roosevelt administration didn’t nationalize anything. The laws establishing the Securities and Exchange Commission were a testament to private property. (I can write a long essay on how). Of course, there were plenty of mistakes-trying to cram more judges into the Supreme Court, the idiotic retail price maintenance laws (we still have one for mutual funds), and the ever increasing taxes. The social programs of FDR were not the only reason we climbed out of the depression, and may have caused the depression to last longer in 1935-1936.But Americans saw a successful trend and elected the guy four times.

FDR didn’t start an “imperial” presidency, but an administration that attempted to correct the flaws of the market. His administration did not want to replace the market with nationalization like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren does. We still are arguing, and should keep arguing, about the limits of government. I think we have a government too large and too active but there is no way I want to return to the brutal days of 1930.

They had a confession, DNA, prior history, and a boatload of other evidence including witnesses and circumstantial evidence. They tried pleading it but the numbers weren’t there.
They then decided to go to trial because it would be a slam dunk for ADA Tesoniero. They specifically gave it to a woman for a “win for women”. They couldn’t give it to DA Andrea Harrington even though it was an easy case because she doesn’t know how to try cases yet.

Please tell me it didnt happen.Trump commits a crime as President for which there will be an impeachment trial. Hillary was destroyed for her advocacy of national healthcare…..Conservatives hated Hillary so much they got her before she started.Poor poor Don Trump
