PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION APRIL 1-3, 2002) — Head ’em up and move ’em out.

ANOTHER SHOOTING: THE PLANET leads with this from the Pittsfield Police Department:

On Wednesday March 30th 2022 at approximately 9:51pm members of the Pittsfield Police Department (PPD) responded to an area near the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Boylston Street for a ShotSpotter activation.  Responding officers located at least one shell casing at the scene.

Investigating officers learned that that a gunshot victim was driving himself to Berkshire Medical Center (BMC.)  Officers who responded to BMC spoke with an adult male victim who had sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound.  From speaking with the victim, investigators learned that an unknown assailant fired a round from the suspect’s vehicle into the victim’s vehicle, which resulted in the injury to the victim.

Anyone who wishes to provide information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Civello at 448-9700 x522.  Information can also be provided anonymously via the Detective Bureau Tip Line at 413-448-9706, or by texting PITTIP and your message to TIP411 (847411).

This while the Tyer Administration sets into work the most important issue facing Pittsfield at the moment: launching a program to make available motorized, two-wheel scooters for the downtown. Vibrant and dynamic, baby. Check out https://www.bird.co/download on YouTube (sorry we couldn’t post a hot link).

———- ooo ———-

HE JUST HAD TO GO THERE — Dennis Powell, head of the local NAACP, had to go there. Powell suggested that police shot and killed Miguel Estrella because he was black. It’s Powell’s right to suggest that theory, but THE PLANET doesn’t buy it. If Powell is privy to information and evidence that supports his notion, we’d like to see it. The assertion that the shooting by the yet unnamed member of the Pittsfield Police Department was caused by race adds a needless element of disruption and hostility to an already tragic situation. Message to all wokesters: Not EVERYTHING is about race.

———- ooo ———-

NO ONE WINS THIS RACE — Try telling that to former and fired Boston Police Commissioner Dennis White. A little more than a year ago, then-Boston mayor Marty Walsh hired White as the Hub’s top cop. Two day later, he suspended White when information surfaced about domestic violence and restraining orders. Walsh left for Biden Land, and interim mayor Kim Janey, fired White, who then brought suit against the city claiming — are you holding your breath? — that he was fired because he’s black. Well, so is Janey. Predictably, White sued the city. On Wednesday, Judge Leo Sorokin wisely threw out two of White’s allegation, with the third hanging by a thread. The Boston Herald published two photos of White, who look about as black as Larry Bird. The irony about America’s race hangup is that the more irrational the debate becomes, the more racial vitriol it engenders.

———- ooo ———-

ROAD KILL — A just-released study, “Fatal Pedestrian Crashes in MA,” looked at walkers killed by drivers. It released data attempting to correlate incidents with locations factoring in speed limits, signage, lighting, and other local conditions. All well and good, and if it saves one life it’s worth it, but we just love the reaction of a “pedestrian advocacy group” called WalkBoston. The group called for safer roads, not better drivers and more careful walkers. Have you ever seen a road actually kill someone? In Pittsfield, if drivers were not to vroooom like maniacs and obey signals and signage, and if walkers would use a little more common sense and not think they can stare down 4,000 pounds of moving metal, and if Ricky’s Rumpus did not mess up so many roads with barrels, cones, confusing lane markings, bad lighting, and cavernous potholes, crossing the street might not be a life-taking, vehicle-wrecking, nerve-wracking proposition.

———- ooo ———-

CRYPTO SCHMIPTO — We came across this story on Thursday: “Hackers have stolen more than $600M worth of cryptocurrency from the Ronin blockchain underlying a popular play-to-earn online game, “Axie Infinity.” The heist is believed to be the biggest cryptocurrency theft in history and raises questions about security. Sky Mavis, the gaming company operating Ronin and “Axie Infinity,” said the attackers took advantage of a security flaw in what’s known as a bridge—a connection between two blockchains that enables transfers of cryptocurrency. The hackers gained control of five validation nodes required to recognize the transfers to and from the Ronin blockchain.” Does anyone out there understand the least bit of this? Cyrpto is “real,” somehow, but when it comes to money, we draw the line at plastic.

———- ooo ———-

HE DID IT AGAIN — President Biden’s just-finished trip to Eastern Europe has mercifully ended. Syracuse Joe opened the borders for 100,000 Ukrainian refugees, hugged a few of them in photo ops, and then, at the end of his canned speech in Warsaw, Poland, had to ad lib this: “For God’s sake, remove this man from power.” THE PLANET doubts that God cares one way of the other, but his call for regime change, according to leaked intelligence reports, sent Putin into a ecstasy. The Russian president saw Biden’s remarks as a raison de-tre for his very actions. You can imagine Vlad saying, “See. I told you. And that’s why we had to go into Ukraine!” For a gaffe-gravitated politician, this one was the president’s most serious and potentially deadly. It’s one thing for Joe Kapanski to want Putin out, but for the Pray-si-dent of the Yoo-night-ed States to say it, publicly, in the middle of a war, not far from the contested country, it’s a whole other thing. Putin’s reaction is still unfolding.

———- ooo ———-

That’s a wrap, folks. Have a great weekend, everybody.

Dan, I’m shocked no catchy headlines in the Planet tonight regarding the first phase of the Carnevale trial? 25 years and not a peep? The gallery was blasting Harringtons office last night. Gotta give credit where it is due right? They had a plan in what was a very difficult 1st phase of the prosecution of these animals.

just the facts,
Does one need to be an attorney to be concerned about justice in their community? Really a young mans life is turned upside down others going to jail and you cant engage in a conversation and set the tone for being at the adult table?
Is that how the office runs? the inner circle? might i suggest for lack of a better phrase this is a constituent facing board. Erica may not be voting for the incumbent but others might be. even if no one is I would suggest its far better to set the example for civility.

Just the facts,
While I thank you for the response I have not seen any of what you mention in Erica G’s post. What I see in her post is a citizen of the community who cares enough to read and to try to understand and comprehend just what is going on in the community she lives in. I seen nothing in her post degrading or insulting to anyone. Erica did show disdain for the local paper I share some of her concerns and thoughts about the local paper. Your reply to her was a self admitted juvenile attack. ” Sorry sista some times when you want to be hater as the kids say You get a smackdown and tis would be the time .”
I can understand and agree some rough terms and inappropriate things get posted here. However stereo typing everyone here who posts in the manner you did is wholly inappropriate as well. May I suggest that you use this forum in an attempt to advance a community discussion on issues of the day in a relative, meaningful and dare I say civil manner in an attempt to help broaden the knowledge and understanding of how Government functions in an attempt to have a better educated electorate.

If I may be as bold to ask you once again to please post the charging documents, the charges as read to the jury and any instructions that were given to the jury so that we might be able to understand the aforementioned “plan” and each could then evaluate and weigh the success of said plan.

If possible could you post links to any of that material?

Thanks in advance

We don’t know what to believe since the DA is a proven liar and the Eagle fails to report the news accurately. Up to 25 years? What does that mean? When eligibile for parole? How much time will this “animal” do? What did the DA ask for vs. what did the judge decide? We’re waiting for someone to tell us the facts. It certainly won’t be you.

Just the facts,

once again I respectfully request that you disclose here on this site in this forum the charges that each defendant was charged with, the charges as read to the jury and the resultant convictions. A copy of the jury instructions would also be helpful in determining if ” the plan” was successful and to what extent. “25 years and not a peep” your moniker is just the facts your quoted statement is fast and lose was it not up to 25 years and thats for only one of the defendants correct? The other defendant was found guilty of misleading the investigators are you claiming that he too got a solid 25 years? you made no distinction between the two.

Can you please explain the plan a bit more the DA’s team went in with attempted murder charges secured a conviction on assault and battery with a dangerous weapon per the plan? was the plan to get the other defendant down to misleading investigators? If going in that was the plan is, or more accurately was that a wise and prudent use of resources both in capital and in the human sense?

If a conviction of attempted murder was secured what would you expect that sentence to be? I am far from an expert but am interested to know for a couple of reasons. To measure the sucess and wisdom of the said plan. But most importantly the victim his family friends and loved ones received essentially a life sentence. I do not know anything about the family my heart goes out to them. they will most likely miss the joy of seeing the young man find the love of his chosen partner, to feel the love of being a grandparent etc they are and will be a loving family from all accounts but it is all turned upside down I admire them their experience will be forever not up to 25 years I would like to know the answers to my questions as stated above because I feel,I owe it them and to my community to make a wise decision on election day as votes have lasting impacts on plain citizens.

Blackrock President warns Americans that they have been entitled for far too long and they will soon be unable to find what they want in stores. We just aren’t used to the type of shortages we will soon face. He wants to blame Putin, but we all know it’s the globalists and this Blackrock President is one of the globalists and they are intentionally causing these global supply chain shortages to drag us into this Great Reset. They want bitcoin or, as they call it, programmable bitcoin, to become our currency. They will use it to track everything we buy and we will even be unable to buy certain items if they determine we have bought too much of it, or for any other reason. This is global fascism.

That’s just it. Heavy traffic on these roads. They are trying to get people to move here? This isn’t good advertisement for doing that. The bottom of Charles Street on Wahconah is also a major roadway and it’s falling apart. You have to go so slow over it to avoid destroying your car. Visitors to this area don’t know the trouble spots so how is this helping our city to attract outsiders which the Mayor says she is always trying to do?

I would submit to you Pat that the WHOLE CITY is a trouble spot and for more reasons than we have space to go into right now. And indicators are that things ain’t heading in the improvement direction. Controlling politicians have neither the will nor grey matter to address the situation. They seem to be casually observing the meltdown with that smirky shit eating grin on their faces. They are focusing on that pot of government gold coming down the pike. They are prepping us for takeover by the globalists. Another reason they are pouring the illegal immigrants over the border on a constant basis. They want compliant people. People coming from countries where they are used to being told what to do. When global government tells you to jump. The only answer they will accept is “How High?” The independence and freedom thinking of Americans will NOT be tolerated by these globalist fascists. Biden is getting us involved with these globalists and not asking our opinion of this. He is a globalist fascist.

Putin is a thug and 99.9 percent of the people in this country know that. When I see the suffering of the Ukrainian people, I want to cry and Putin is to blame for their suffering. Biden and the globalists want war though to bring on this Great Reset of changing our monetary system and taking total control over us so Biden and his far left are doing very little to stop Putin even though they knew his intentions and did little to arm the Ukrainians until it was too late to stop Russia. Biden is not a good guy in any of this and his intentions for our country will destroy our freedoms and way of life.

Putin is a bad guy, but so is Joe Biden. He could have done a lot more to stop Putin, but Biden and his globalist friends want war to bring on the Great Reset. All of these people are ruthless and power mad.

Good find, Joe.

Bright future? He just got arrested for gun charges and was pulling knives on his girlfriend when he was blackout drunk. If he was mentally ill to the point where he had to have the cops called on him because he pulled knives on women and threatened to cut himself then his future wasn’t that bright to begin with. If he really was suffering from mental illness that sucks, but this idea that it gives people like this free reign to butcher cops needs to end.

But did the deceased have a history of torturing and killing pet turkeys for the crime of crossing the street? I think not, otherwise he’d still be alive, rising through the ranks to become chief of police. And who says the deceased was out there butchering cops? It looks more like the murdered by cop’s victim was attempting to overcome a childhood none of us would trade our own for. Did he have a history of harming others? Was he a product of the foster care system?

Foster care children at much greater risk of physical, mental health problems / UCI News

“Children who’ve been in the U.S. foster care system are significantly more likely to experience learning disabilities, developmental delays, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, asthma, and obesity – as well as hearing, vision, and speech impairments – than those who have not, …..

The hidden harms of US foster-care system –

Trauma & Children in Foster Care

Why is abuse so common in foster care?

Some of the abuse suffered by children in foster care results from the inappropriate placement of vulnerable, often younger, children in placed in homes with physically or sexually aggressive youths.

Sexual Abuse and the Foster Care System – Focus for Health

A Johns Hopkins University study of a group of foster Children in Maryland found that children in foster care are four times more likely to be sexually abused than their peers not in this setting, and children in group homes are 28 times more likely to be abused.

One-third of foster children reported abuse by a foster parent or another adult in the home.

More than half of child sex trafficking victims recovered through FBI raids across the U.S. were from foster care or group homes.

https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/gun-control-act

Lot’s of gun control there. I challenge you to find any other product that experience that much regulation and law that discriminates down to the individual who may possess what instrument, and into which buildings they may or may not bring them and what type of projectile may be issued from it, and how many may be stored within it.

Most guns have an average life of 100 years give or take 100. They are manufactured on every continent. And when there is a war, boatloads are shipped off only to be stolen en route. Where laws prohibit their importation, they are stuffed into crates and smuggled along with cocaine, apples, diapers, and other sundry items.

What we need is a law that will 100% accurately and precisely determine who will use what and where and when, and the problem of violence, both gun and other object, will be solved.

The problem is if we succeed, then EVERYONE will want to move here only to trash perfection, and then we’d need more laws.

In other words, “gun control” attached to any phrase such as “gun control Act”, “Pro-gun control “. “Anti-gun control” is an oxymoron. Every political act in the name of ‘gun control’ does two things: induces people – even those who hate guns – to purchase guns (which never wear out see above) and seems to cause even more criminals to break laws they for which they never get charged.

Also, if you, Fizz, need a revolver and find the laws complex, ask Hunter’s sister. She is looking for someone to take Hunter’s car-gun off her hands and she appreciates gun laws. She borrowed Hunter’s car, found his responsibly stowed .38 in an unlocked glove compartment. So, being especially responsible, she tossed Hunter’s gun in a dumpster (proper disposal! The garbage man never misses a stop), but a homeless man irresponsibly found it, gave it to the police, who maybe gave it back to the Biden family. (‘You lost a gun?”) So I guess the Bidens, busy following gun laws, are looking for a legal way to divest.

I’d give her a call, but follow ATF restrictions on interstate transfers of handguns. I know of a cop who thought he could save $25 on a glock by purchasing out of state and wound up in the slammer.

Sorry I gave that impression. I was giving examples of why gun control just doesn’t work. My illustrations: the misguided cop who tried to take advantage of a price advantage in a neighboring state (the gun was legal for him to purchase- just not there) and the Bidens: hunter leaving guns unsecured and up for grabs, sister gives it away, Joe: ” just shoot through the door” which is not legal in most states

I work slow. Not ready to move into the next step. We have laws. The laws are named for gun control. This is what we need to understand. I suggest we start with definitions for gun, control, and then gun control.

Dan, you might have hit gold with Ricky’s Rumpus. I found out there is a reason for the crater sized potholes in this vibrant, dynamic, and inclusive, city. They are known as “Progressive Speed Bumps.” Not only does it help with a cleaner environment, but it’s also safer for the children.

According to the Progressive Dictionary: Progressive Speed Bumps, aka-Ricky’s Rumpus: are potholes designed to slow traffic down. The larger the pothole, the less need for traffic enforcement by the police. This eliminates POC getting shot and killed by the police, simply for being POC. Ricky’s Rumpus will also remove vehicles from the roads by damaging them, thus saving on emissions. Less traffic and less construction work/workers, equal a cleaner environment. This will make people use government funded transportation.

Ricky’s Rumpus is not only environmentally friendlier than smooth, paved roads, but it is also safer for the children. The less traffic, means children of color can safely play in the streets.

Government funded transportation is dangerous during a pandemic. Private vehicles saved millions of lives. Public transportation is also dangerous when crime is out of control. The situation of the elderly and public transportation is even worse. Half of the year or more has terrible weather in the Berkshires which isn’t waiting for public transportation friendly. Will the elites also be taking public transportation? No, I didn’t think so. That will only be the fate of we the people making sacrifices for climate change. The globalists want control over us. Even they don’t believe in climate change.

No wonder why there are three candidates – Incumbent Andrea Harrington, and challengers Tim Shugrue and Robert Sullivan – running for Berkshire County District Attorney. The winner will earn more public pay and perks than Governor Charlie Baker. It must be nice to be politically connected and powerful in the corrupt Commonwealth of Massachusetts!

The politically connected in Massachusetts get to be on the public payroll with 6-figure and even 7-figure taxpayer-funded pay and perks. The proverbial Jon Melle and Patrick Fennell get to buy state lottery tickets, and so on. The career politicians in Massachusetts mostly receive 6-figure public pay and perks, while the taxpayers pay for systemically underfunded public education and public services. Is that the way government is supposed to work? Instead of the government serving the people and taxpayers, the proverbial Jon Melle and Patrick Fennell pay for DISSERVICES from the well compensated politically connected and career politicians. When will “Business as usual” ever end in government?

It’s not profitable bus practice to buy excess inventory. Excess is subject to waste, spoilage, loss, and undercount. Storage alone takes space – costly and generates lost opportunity for generating profit from the value of time (how many times can you flip the same dollar in a month. Not even once if you are storing inv)

If HD is stocking up, it means they anticipate impending shortages. Lumber is about 30% sales, at least 30% floor space.

iBERKSHIRES STORY EXCERPT
The scooters will arrive around mid-April and will be disbursed in places where they are likely to be utilized. There will be 20 to 30 at first and 50 to 75 as time goes on.

Those with a valid driver’s license can reserve a scooter at a cost of one dollar for the base ride plus 39 cents per minute.

39 cents per minute?? Well that eliminates anybody on social security, or any low income people. It may be cheaper to take an Uber because that is $23 per hour

Is there a hidden part to this story? Like is the city going to rent a couple of dozen a day for their employees? Will downtown Inc. be renting some for tourists? Will taxpayers ultimately get in the back door? This thing just does not pass the smell test, especially since this is Pittsfield where everything has a catch.
Can I rent one and then take it up to the Springside Park bike trail and hammer the hell out of it?

What is the reason for Andrea Harrington to be at a missing person press conference?

A. She doesn’t know a thing about her job
B. To get publicity
C. To send her regards?
D. All of the above

If you were there you could read the room and see othes wondering the same thing, why is Harrington here? Then, at 7:19 a reporter asked the question that should have been asked far more often this year. What is the district attorney doing at this event? The DA never attends missing persons investigations and since there is no sign of criminal activity why is this district attorney here and speaking at this event? To help the state police? Her wishywashy response makes it clear that her job is getting elected, that’s it.

It was surprising to see Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington attending the Eagle Mill groundbreaking ceremony in Lee on Wednesday. Am not sure what role she plays in getting the much-needed reconstruction started and completed. Given the recent news of her department making a sophomoric legal error (withholding evidence from the defense), one would think that she would be at her office teaching her assistants legal protocol. Apparently, publicity is much more important.

The Eagle has devoted two pages to “Miggy” including a half page picture of him on the front page followed by a page of glowing testimonials from friends & family. Then, in the Opinion section, the Eagle editor states that he will not “prejudge the outcome of that probe and we urge others to do the same to avoid unnecessarily turning the temperature up while the city is already on edge.”

My three points 1) isn’t the Eagle already taking sides by presenting Miggy as an angel of light? 2) is the city really on edge? I’m sleeping well at night knowing this perp isn’t running around with fellow perp David Moody or drunkenly carrying a knife around his neighborhood.
3) what about the officer who shot him? How is he doing?

A big shout out to our police force for keeping us safe despite a progressive DA and her radical political agenda.

And one more question – is he a legal citizen or an illegal immigrant?

I agree with you, especially about Hunter Biden! Why did Joe Biden run for Prez with all of his “crime” family’s baggage and corruption? Joe Biden doesn’t even acknowledge his love granddaughter who Hunter Biden tried to weasel out of paying child support for if not for a court-ordered paternity test, and Hunter Biden still says that he has no memory of his stripper woman partner he impregnated. Joe Biden should be a loving grandfather to his unwanted granddaughter, and it shows his real character for always avoiding the young child. Politicians such as Joe Biden and Bill Clinton say wonderful Democratic Party words, but those phony Presidents don’t practice what they preach. The federal Judge in NYC upheld Ghislaine Maxwell’s felony convictions, while the estimated 215 men – including Bill Clinton – who allegedly sexually abused and raped 14-year-old and up to 17-years-old sexually trafficked girls all still go uncharged. Hunter Biden’s many alleged tax fraud, money laundering, and so on alleged crimes all still go uncharged. It is always the women such as Martha Stewart and Ghislaine Maxwell, respectively, who pay for their crimes, while the big wheels – mostly wealthy and powerful men – on Wall Street, especially from 2007 – 2009, as well as the U.K.’s Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton and Bill Gates, never pay for their alleged crimes. The ELITES on Wall Street, in the Swamp, and overseas get to do what ever the Hell they want, while the rest of us have to pay for their baggage and alleged crimes. It is all very unfair and WRONG!

Hello Erin Leahy at Act on Mass,

Thank you for this week’s political email about Beacon Hill lawmakers doing DISSERVICES against the people and taxpayers of Massachusetts.

The State House Ways and Means Committee is working on Governor Charlie Baker’s proposed fiscal year 2023 Massachusetts state budget, but they will not be holding public hearings with public testimony this Spring/year (2022) to hear from the people and taxpayers who are paying for their excessive around $50 billion annual spending plan. They are accepting written comments only (that will be thrown in the proverbial trash can). The state budget is the biggest bill of the session/year. The career politician gave no explanation for eliminating public hearings/testimony.

Lyft and Uber are pushing Beacon Hill lawmakers to pass anti-worker legislation so that the private contractors won’t be vested with workers’ legal rights, benefits and compensation. Please tell the career politicians to pass the same legislation for themselves that they will pass on behalf of Lyft and Uber.

The Commission’s report on people working from home should note that Beacon Hill lawmakers hardly work, but some critics get upset when one uses the word “work” to write about their part-time employment.

Chapter 90 state aid for road repair is underfunded by around 40 percent. When a driver hits a pothole, please send a thank you note to your useless State Representative in Boston.

The Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth holds rally on State House steps. Everyone should/must be legally entitled to equal rights under law.

Beacon Hill lawmakers vote against Sunshine Laws rules reforms for decades, and they use loopholes to get away with barely working – again, using the word “work” is inaccurate – and not having all of their votes recorded for the public.

Best wishes,

Jonathan Melle

Hello Patrick Fennell,

In response to your first political email, the ELITES never pay for their alleged crimes, especially the financial elites on Wall Street and the ruling elites in the Swamp.

….(edited)….

As for women, minorities, the disabled, and so on, there should/must be equal rights under law. When I stood trial by jury in the State of New Hampshire in early-2010 whereby the Hillsborough County District Attorney’s Office in Manchester wrongfully indicted me on two state felonies from mid-2007 to early-2010, the prosecutor named Brett Harpster, whom I derisively called Brett HarpsTERD, said in open court before the Judge and Jury that my defense was playing the mental health card. What a jerk! It has been court precedence for nearly one century to enter my mental health condition(s) as evidence and testimony, but I was openly discriminated against as a person who is a disabled Veteran who serve our country honorably by the State of New Hampshire, which violated ALL of my legal rights to convict me of two misdemeanors, which the State of New Hampshire thankfully annulled in mid-2019. I love our country, but I fear my government when they are wrong and/or indifferent like how they treated me many years ago now.

As for the homosexual and the like/similar movement(s), I believe all American Citizens and Citizens of the World should have equal legal rights under law.  As for the government, I believe that politicians and bureaucrats should stay as far away from public education as legally and politically possible. If they really cared about children and public education, then it wouldn’t be systemically underfunded for generations. The government is racist and very greedy, and most career politicians only care about the Almighty Dollar and power so they will be reelected for decades on end. After they retire from being corrupt career politicians, they collect their public pensions and perks and go onto be greedy registered lobbyists, or….(edited)….multimillionaire marijuana drug dealers.

Best wishes,

Jonathan A. Melle

She has pledged to follow the actual law regarding public records requests IF there is a criminal case. That’s a big IF. There will likely be no criminal case. This pledge is laughable because it is unlike in the past when she was caught – by the Eagle! in the Simon’s Rick hate crime hoax. It’s a bit embarassing the reporter missed the opportunity to make that link. Regardless, Harrington seems to have finally learned the lesson that trying to hide things that will hurt you politically will cause you more political harm. She needs to get better at politics if that’s the game she is going to play.

Nonsense, Harrington is counting on low turnout and voter stupidity, a model that worked before.

So is she now going to release the full investigative file concerning the Black Lies Matter Smollet style hoax at Simmons rock? Or are persons of color exempt??????

The files you want to see and never will involve Harrington’s appalling treatment of domestic violence cases. They are dismissed ALL THE TIME. You would have had to be in court over the past 3 years to see what an incredible travesty it has been. This comes from the DA who “pledged” her deep concern for victims of domestic abuse. She has done the exact opposite. You can get confirmation of this from any defense attorney. Whether they will go on the record and risk ending the gravy train is another matter.

As a taxpaying resident of Ward 2, the very ward that since this Administration has been in office has had to cope with a massive increase in traffic due to pot shops, a skunk stench air filled cultivating business and over 600 addicts a day going to the methadone clinic, only one street is listed for full repair this year. The two other locations are partial basically patch jobs. The one street is Smith Street, ironically there are NO businesses or residences (taxpayers) on that street. This street is across the street from Mayor Tyrant’s buddy’s new firehouse apartments that taxpayers have already given tiffs to! This paving project must be so that residents of this new 4 apartment building can look out their windows at a nice little street. Drove down this short street today and there are about 4 small pot holes. Meanwhile, most streets in Ward 2 are in desperate need of repair. Ward 2 has been ignored for going on 6 years now. Is this due to the fact that between Councilor Morandi and now Councilor Kronick the Mayor does not like the fact that they try to fight for the taxpayers wishes and not hers! How blatant can her snub of Ward 2 be? Shameful of this Administration. Also, still wonder how the excise tax is being spent and also how much pot money is coming into the City and where it is being spent?

MB:This did not slip by me and believe me there are a lot of angry people mad at the Mayor. So much for a ‘fair share’ and ‘equity’ for Ward 2 including Morningside. We got just 3% split between East St and Smith – neither residential. Check my Facebook page this week for details.

The scooters are a great addition to the Harrington policy against prosecuting shoplifting. It’s an instant getaway vehicle for larceny over $250.

If I shot and murdered someone, would the DA, police, and newspaper not release my name for days, weeks?

No. And protocol calls for the release of the officers names and basic info such as years of service, rank, position, etc within a few days, absent a compelling reason to the contrary.

I have no idea, nor do I work for the Pittsfield police, nor do I have any inside knowledge. I just play a cop on television. However, a quick Google search backs up what I said – basic facts should be released.

So why isn’t the Boring Broadsheet asking the police or da DA who was involved? Why aren’t they asking for a copy of the policy on this?

The most compelling reason not to is officer safety, and there is case law that says names do not have to be released if there are threats against officers – this was a California case however. Bottom line is officer safety is the most likely reason.

I googled tasers as being only forty percent effective? Surprised two tasers weren’t very effective. Another question is who monitors the taser and it strength and safety? What was voltage capacity of each?
