MUNN AND DONE, ‘MEAN GIRL’ MAYOR, JUMPIN’ DOPPLER, and OTHER IMPONDERABLE MYSTERIES
BY DAN VALENTI
PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY
(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY JUNE 30, 2025) — Random thoughts whilst brook zenning:
Munn and Done: What’s up with the sudden firing of Gary Munn, an IT guy with eight years seving the Pittsfield Police Department? And is there a connection between the axing and the reported harassment of his entrepreneur wife, Danielle, and her downtown business Witch Slapped? She made the shop a safe harbor for the “armies of the road,” apparently riling Hizzoner. THE PLANET‘s sources are talking. Gosh, could there be any connection between Danielle’s speaking against Mayor Lumpy’s efforts to put the “armies” into railcars and deport them to … where, exactly? Auschwitz? Otis? Sources say Gary went to HR’s Michael Taylor about certain “irregularities.” Next thing you know, Ol’ Jed’s a millionaire and Lumpy and cohorts give whistleblower Gary an ultimatum: Resign “to spend more time with your family” and receive a glowing letter of recommendation OR we fire your ass and good luck with the black list. Fear and retaliation: How long can that keep a lid on the tense silence from people who “know too much?”
———- ooo ———-
What’s in a Name: An inside source shared city hall’s new nickname for Lumpy: Mean Girl Marchetti. First we’ve heard about it.
———- ooo ———-
Jumpin’ Doppler: And do you think Jumpin Joe Curtis decided to resign as school super of his own free will? Maybe you do. If so, THE PLANET has for sale beachfront swampland on the lost continent of Atlantis. We do wonder if Doppler Radar was correct when it noted trail of Benjamins moving from city hall in the vicinity of the corner office to a hovering position over Mercer on Jumpin’s last day in the office.
———- ooo ———-
An Honest Debate: There’s an honest debate to be had about the homeless, mentally ill, addicts, and the like. Clearly, their presence doesn’t play well for downtown merchants, who have justly complained. But as social activist Michael Hitchcock has asked: “What do we do with them?” At what point does society’s role end and a person’s individual choices begin? How many resources can a city be expected to provide, taxpayers picking up the bill? At what point do the numbers not work? Any answers, anyone? It’s what they used to call “a pickle.”
———- ooo ———-
Left of Left: Think the Democrats are on to something? With Zohram Mamdani’s mayoral primary win, the party just shoved itself even further to the Loon Left. THE PLANET didn’t think that could be possible. Mamdani is a radical, Moonbat, Muslim, millennial, socialist “do-gooder.” If NYC elects this guy, the city’s kaput.
———- ooo ———-
Man Up: What hath MLB wrought? Used to be cigar-smoking, leather-lunged hecklers were de rigueur at any ballgame. The best hecklers elevated that crude practice into an art form, as in: “Hey ump! If you had another eye, you’d be a cyclops.” In a recent game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox, a fan got on Dback second baseman Ketel Marte. The taunter made a derogatory comment about Marte’s deceased mother. Be clear. THE PLANET doesn’t endorse the comment, but we endorse free speech. They’re only words. Marte began crying, and while out on the field during a pitching change, manager Tory Lovullo hugged Marte. “I just reacted as a dad,” Lovullo said. Nice, that, but give me Leo Durocher and Dick Williams, John McGraw and Fred Hutchinson, who expected their ballplayers to be tougher than cactus.
———- ooo ———-
Seeing the Light: Hmmm. Immediately after President Trump dropped those blockbusters on Iran nuclear facilities, the mullahs agreed to a cease fire with Israel. Quite a change from presidents Obama and Autopen.
———- ooo ———-
A Fast Woman: Can a woman run a 4-minute mile? Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon, 31, believes so and set out to prove it. Sort of. She waited for a balmy summer evening with no wind. She surrounded herself with 13 elite pace setters who positioned themselves around Kipyegon to reduce wind drag. She wore a custom-made, aerodynamic track suit and customized spikes courtesy of Nike. One wonders why they just didn’t put a jet pack on her and hand it to her. Despite all the field-tilting, Kipyegon finished in 4 minutes 6.42 seconds. Next time, they’re going to redefine what a “mile” consists of and lengthen the course by the required X number of feet. That’s how it’s done today in sports … and education. Lower the bar so everyone can step over it.

Tonight’s City Hall Committee’s vote on Mayor Peter Marchetti’s proposed encampment ban is wrong on many levels.
Homelessness is a structural assault on a person, family, and the community. The mayor’s proposal would only make matters worse off.
The Underclass is a structural problem. The solutions to helping the Underclass is to provide targeted assistance. This is not happening in Pittsfield.
The vote tonight should not be happening. Pittsfield politics is promoting bullying, cruelty and structural racism tonight.
Jon Melle
JM, I have a few questions about your post. It’s not an attack on you, but rather an attempt to dig a little deeper into your post.
*First, what’s your personal experience dealing with the homeless?
*Second, I’m curious how you come to the conclusion that “homelessness is an assault on the person, family,…..”
*Third, have you ever done a ride along with a police officer in a city/town, who has to deal with the homeless: bothering people, begging, panhandling, shooting up dope, getting drunk, littering, and sh!ting in public, just to name a few filthy habits of theirs?
*Fourth and final, have you ever interviewed a manager or director of a homeless shelter/living facility? If not, go by and ask why the homeless CHOOSE to remain in the streets and DECLINE HELP AND SERVICES AVAILABLE?
***OD’s and life-support measures don’t count either.
The three biggest cities with homelessness problems in the US, are: NYC, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
**What’s the common denominator?
MARK
Good one. The common denominator: run by Democrats. Same as Bitchfield.
“STRUCTURAL anything” is a conceit. Metaphorical thinking to drive rage. Rage is irrational in every instance.
You are angry about something, but you haven’t defined it.
Whatever sociologist coined the phrase structural got a heap of praise from his PoMo colleagues, but guaranteed he never had to prove the existence of structural “Xxx”. he had a definition at the ready so others could use it too.
Unistress builds structures….
https://www.bizjournals.com/boston/news/2025/06/30/mass-concrete-company-lays-off-over-200.html
….and lays off over 200 workers, too.
All structures are unstable
My point is that these words derive from sociological treatises that never passed peer review and lack empirical evidence. It emotional arguing.
I’ve been watching this situation unfold for months now, and the pattern is undeniable. With every new ordinance the Mayor proposes, it becomes clearer—this isn’t about public safety or policy. It’s a personal vendetta against the unhoused and anyone brave enough to help them.
At the last meeting, I watched as the witch stood up unapologetic, unpolished, and unafraid. She made it clear she wasn’t going to sugarcoat her words or play nice for the sake of titles, optics, or professional ties. Unlike many others who spoke carefully, cautiously, clearly worried about protecting their paychecks or keeping the peace she doesn’t owe anyone silence. And she used her voice with raw honesty and courage.
Then came Marchetti’s response. He tried to mock her, saying with a smirk, “Well then I guess I’ll be authentic too.” I laughed out loud. That would be a first.
Truth is, the guy’s a coward. A big sissy who hides behind lawyers, committees, and bureaucratic jargon because deep down, he’s terrified of strong, outspoken women who can’t be bought, bullied, or silenced. My money is on the witch.
Mayor Peter Marchetti should resign his current elected office immediately. He failed over and over again. Pittsfield politics reached ROCK BOTTOM with him. If it could get any worse, then Shoe-Gum Sara would be elected to the corner office again.
Johnny are you and CC President Pete White still going to team up and run against your cousin Mayor Pete in the next election? I think you and Pete White should hit the campaign trail wearing your costumes like Lone Ranger and Tonto or Chewbacca and The Hulk.
In regards to your baseball comment – testosterone is in very short supply these days.
The bums need to be removed from the public library and roadway medians. The city should start a program to hire them for park/street weeding and cleanup, in exchange for meal tickets/motel stays.
Good idea.
Homeless folk are a permanent strata in every society. They have been documented in every period of literature as well as the Bible. Even Oddyseus returns home in the guise of a homeless man.
Therefore, a solution must provide a managed housing modular and regulated.
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A new report identifies Pittsfield as one of the state’s most reliable “signal cities,” communities where economic changes tend to emerge before spreading across the region.
According to a survey of more than 3,000 business leaders from across the state, Pittsfield was ranked second in the state for its ability to forecast economic shifts, and first among all cities in western Massachusetts.
Funds awarded to behavioral health providers statewide for training and growth
The designation highlights Pittsfield’s unique economic profile. With a workforce shaped by healthcare, seasonal tourism, and public-sector jobs, the city tends to respond quickly to changes in public funding and consumer behavior. A new report from financial media firm MarketBeat notes that when local hospitals initiate hiring freezes or when real estate sales for second homes begin to cool, those patterns often indicate broader slowdowns across Berkshire County.
One look at the crowd at the hearing on PCTVs coverage says everything you need to know.
None of them are lacking food by the looks of their flab.
All of them like funny hair color. And holy crap what was that rainbow hair sitting next to Munn on, here eyes were as big as all the homeless bellies.
Watch the crazy bastard (no, not Jon Mele) wearing the ski hat in 80 degree weather and you’ll understand why people are scared. That loony fook crazily scanned the crowd like he was making mental notes of whose throats he was slitting after the meeting.
Michael Hitchcock is a c0ck and survives off grifting, pretending to care about homelessness.
Goggles Serre is the phoniest tied in a close second by Wicked Wench of the West Amuso.
And I hope Lampiasi slapped the living shit out of Flamboyant Gay Bart Kavey who kept shouting over her, forgetting he wasn’t the chairman of the committee. I hope all the vagrants jumped his ass after the meeting. He needs to be the 1st to be voted off the council in the next election.
And now for the main attraction Danielle the Main Grifter Munn. Don’t buy into any charade that her and lazy eye Gary are being railroaded. A gofundme to keep a witch store open?? GTFO. I want to know the real story behind him getting shitcanned, because it ain’t because his wife was badmouthing Mayor Pete. Maybe something bad found on his computer? Maybe snooping in police files he shouldn’t have been? I don’t think playing video games qualifies you as an IT professional anyways. Dummy Danielle’s behavior at these meetings is about as disgusting as her scat play fetish. Maybe she should hold a gofundme for braces. Watch the face of that Lee Bank executive when she started her profane tirade at the open mike.
P.S. these councilors should worry about themselves and not questioning how cops are going to enforce the ordinances they pass. Lt Callahan should have reached across the dais and punched Goggles in her ultra liberal face when she disrespected her calling her Officer instead of her earned rank of Lt.
Mayor Peter Marchetti’s “War against the Underclass” residents of Pittsfield is CRAZY because it will make matters even WORSE!
Totally agree! Especially about that flamboyant narcissist Kavy. OMG. He really thinks it’s all about him and that everyone is there is to witness his greatness. We had a lot of grandstanders on the council but he takes the cake. I’m waiting for a petition by Kavy that requests that PCTV rename their City Council coverage to the “Patrick Kavy Show”
He’s almost as gosh as the councilor that preceded him.
Dizzy made four mistakes before the meeting even began. Kavey was just helping out. I think.
And how about we grow up and stop pretending we’re halloween characers while we’re at it…
