PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

ADD 1 7/28 AFTERNOON — THE PLANET just received this from Det. Lt. John Soules of the Pittsfield Police Department:

On Monday, July 28th 2025 at approximately 1:00am, Pittsfield Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to the intersection of North Street and Melville Street for a report of a male party with a firearm. Responding officers conducted an area search and discovered a man, later identified as 25-year-old Pittsfield resident Zyir Rasheed, involved in an argument at Cumberland Farms on First Street.

The Cumberland Farms gas station and convenience store is a short distance from the initial call for service and Rasheed matched the description of the suspect. Officers gave commands to Rasheed but he ignored them and attempted to flee. Officers gained control of him and he was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun with a round in the chamber. Rasheed does not possess a Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms.

He was charged with a number of criminal offenses, including Carrying a Firearm without a License (Subsequent Offense), Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and being an Armed Career Criminal. He was expected to be arraigned at some point today. This case highlights the exceptional work regularly conducted by members of the PPD, and the very real dangers they face as they go about their duties.

THE PLANET agrees with that last sentence.

———- ooo ———-

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY JULY 28, 2025) — Today, THE PLANET lets the photos speak for themselves.

While. The Suits debate the Silver Lake PCB cap, we took a tour last week of the once Sylvan body. We came away shaking our heads at the lost opportunity.

Not only did the city fail to have GE fully rectify the harm that it did and pay for the restoration of what could have been a spring-fed lake and beach for swimming, fishing, boating, and winter ice skating, it has let what exists continue down the path of neglect.

The garbage. Overflowing cans. The refuse of illegal squatters. It’s obvious that no one in the city cares. Mayor Lumpy doesn’t care. Jim “Crime Dog” McGrath, opens spaces director, doesn’t care. Ricky Rumpus of the DPW doesn’t care. The city council doesn’t care. Apparently, neither does Bitchfield’s contracted trash collector, Casella.

THE PLANET can confidently say this not on the basis of their words but because of their actions … and inactions.

Such neglect not only keeps private capital out of the city, it demoralizes good citizens and encourages the deadbeats to keep soiling.

One word, Lumpy, from THE PLANET: DISGUST.

——————————————————–

Neglect is first a scratch on the leg. It then becomes a limb with gangrene” — Sir Donald Turpentine, Knight of the Bath.

LOVE TO ALL.

Downward spiral = Pittsfield politics.

Mayor Peter Marchetti is as useless as the capped leaky landfills.

Why does Pittsfield spend tens of millions of dollars per-year more than similar small cities?

Vote out the career politicians in 2025 and in the future elections, please.

What do you think about the friendship between Jeffrey Epstein and….Trump….?

If one counted all of the wives, porn stars, Playboy models, and hopefully not underage girls, that the Republican politicians had in their sex lives, it may give them enough votes to win the next election in 2026.

They give Hunter Biden a run for his money from China and Ukraine. It is a good thing for him that his old man pardoned him, unlike Ghislaine Maxwell….yet, maybe?

Trump was the first one to realize what Epstein was, besides Epstein’s clients. Trump booted him from and banned Epstein from his properties.

Trump was never on the “Lolita express” flight logs, like frequent flyer Slick Willie Clinton, who bought along the H-Beast at least once. What a disgusting scene that must have been…..

The Biden family is composed of criminals and some are traitors.

There is no statue of limitations on treason for those involved in the “Russian collusion” hoax, no immunity for treason, and it’s a capitol offense that can be tried by a military tribunal.

There are many Liberals/Leftists involved in this treason, including (much of) the Sotero and Biden administrations and members of intelligence/law enforcement agencies.

Can you name anyone else who banned him from his premises? Hillary? Bill? Gates? Anyone else? I think it’s just Donald who banned him. No wonder then, he is within his rights to say Epstein is irrelevant. He became irrelevant the moment he kicked him out the door.

I wish I could stand up to Mayor Peter Marchetti, his ally, the disgraced politician turned marijuana millionaire, Andrea Francesco Nuciforo Junior, and some of the other worthless Pittsfield politicians out there.

They have had it out for me for decades in Pittsfield. They want to ruin my life, even though I live in New Hampshire. They have done a lot of harmful actions against me for almost all of my adult life of 50 years of age.

Lastly, I believe that if my relative Peter Marchetti, and my Enemy #1 Nuciforo, lived anywhere else than Pittsfield, then they would not have been in high their elected offices. They are big fish in a small (polluted Silver) lake in the Pitts – Nothing more. I see them for what they truly are, too.

At least when GE was still in Bitchfield, Silver Lake never froze over because of the continuous flow of pollution from the plant.

The City had an easy place to dump snow removed from the streets. That was times long past, back when the City actually maintained the sidewalks and roads.

Now we have Rumpis’s minions plowing and sanding dry pavement, and being AWOL during snowstorms.

To your point Dan.

Going down Tyler today. The street with the very recent multi-million dollar renovation. Over $20,000 worth of trees and shrubs.

Guy comes off the curb jaywalking in traffic. Just out of curiosity I check to see if there was a crosswalk nearby that he might have used had he been so inclined. Sure enough there was one though kinda hard to see because only slight remains of any paint defining its existence. The city was so proud of their new road with all the brightly defined crosswalks and bike lanes but now, only one year later, it is hardly pedestrian safe as markings are pretty much obscure.

If the flowers need watering or the trees need trimming or someone things a few more planters would look nice the city is right on it. But the crosswalks will not be painted till a kid trying to cross the street gets clobbered and his parents blame the driver.

The Waconah park redo should be paid for by private investors as they are the ones who will be reaping the profits from its shows, concerts and sports events. Semi pro baseball is projected to be only ten percent of its actual use and that is also a private company. The taxpayer cost of this design, build out and eternal maintenance will be crippling. The city parks dept budget is already in the multi millions but always has tons of funding while sadly there seems to not be enough money to pay for crosswalk painting which in some communities is considered a major safety issue. In some city’s, city council presidents are all over this issue. Especially communities that seem to have way above average vehicle/pedestrian deaths.

No leadership plan. No search. No transparency.
And now? The PD will quietly promote from within, and the good ol’ boys network stays intact.

You must have been to Silver Lake on a slow day Dan. When you were there, it was only graffiti and trash. But on “diverse and inclusive” days, you might get lucky and find a body floating in there too.

Bitchfield is a prime example of the “Broken Windows” theory. Ignore an issue and it will continue to fester.

In criminology, the broken windows theory states that visible signs of crime, antisocial behavior and civil disorder create an urban environment that encourages further crime and disorder, including serious crimes. The theory suggests that policing methods that target minor crimes, such as vandalism, loitering, public drinking and fare evasion, help to create an atmosphere of order and lawfulness.

Did you see this story?

The Old Orchard Beach (ME) Police Department told MA Illegal Aliens State Representative, Tricia Farley-Country Buffet (d-illegal aliens), to hold their beer when it came to their illegal aliens over Americans policy.

A few years ago, TFCB sponsored the “Illegal Aliens Mobility Act.” This helped illegal aliens get drivers licenses, because according to TFCB, illegal aliens who are in the country ILLEGALLY are “scared to get stopped by the police and arrested.”

Old Orchard Beach (ME) Police Department HIRED AN ILLEGAL ALIEN AS A POLICE OFFICER. Read that again. How in the f**k did he make it through a background check. Well, look at his skin color and I guess I answered my own question. That’s how.

Any person ever arrested ILLEGALLY by this illegal alien posing as a police officer, should sue OOB into oblivion. Make them pay for these woke and ILLEGAL policies.

Mayor Peter Marchetti’s “War against the Underclass” residents of Pittsfield who are homeless passed by a 3 – 2 vote on Monday evening, July 28, 2025.

https://www.news10.com/top-stories/pittsfield-leaders-advance-on-homeless-ordinance/

Meanwhile, his mayoral administration spends over $62 million per fiscal year more than Westfield, which is a similarly sized small city to Pittsfield in Western Massachusetts.

Do people understand that Pittsfield’s excessive spending is causing higher rents for the low- to moderate-income residents who are at risk of homelessness?

It is similar to a bar owner telling alcoholics not to drink alcohol.

Talk about splitting hairs. A resident said that it is not the homeless people, but their behavior that is the problem.

Local attorney Jesse Cook-Dubin argued that it would allow police to address disruptive behavior, such as public defecation and sleeping in doorways.

“It’s not homelessness that’s the problem; it’s the behavior,” he said.

“‘Care over criminalization.’ Pittsfield’s public camping ban has been softened, but advocates are still concerned”
By Maryjane Williams, The Berkshire Eagle, July 29, 2025

PITTSFIELD — After months of public debate, a proposed ordinance banning people from sleeping and creating temporary shelters on all public property in the city will move forward.

In front of a packed audience, the City Council’s Ordinance and Rules Committee voted 3-2 on Monday night to advance the revised ordinance to the next full City Council, with Councilors Kathy Amuso, Rhonda Serre and Peter White voting in favor, and Patrick Kavey and Dina Lampiasi opposing.

Pittsfield’s Ordinances and Rules Committee sent back Mayor Peter Marchetti’s proposed camping ordinance for changes
The vote came after a lengthy public hearing at which residents, business owners, advocates and city officials voiced strong opinions on both sides of the issue.

The ordinance will go before the full council on Aug. 12.

Framed as a response to concerns from downtown business owners, Mayor Peter Marchetti’s May proposal would ban sleeping and temporary sheltering on public property. But the ordinance has since faced major pushback from advocates, who argue it penalizes poverty.

“The small businesses in this city drive our economy,” Serre said. “We’ve got to help them as much as they’ve got to help us.”

The version passed Monday no longer includes a previously proposed three-day camping limit on private property and provides violators with the option to complete community service — at $25 per hour — in lieu of paying a fine. It also removes language that directly criminalized unhoused individuals, eliminates a clause that would have penalized those who provided supplies to people camping, and shifts enforcement authority to the Board of Health.

Still, the room was filled with concern.

“These people — that’s all they have,” Lampiasi said. “And we’re telling them: You can’t sleep in our parks. You can’t sleep downtown, where there are cameras and you won’t be raped, beaten or have terrible things happen to you.”

Advocates said the ordinance does nothing to address root causes of homelessness and urged the city to instead pursue long-term solutions, such as more housing, outreach teams and public hygiene facilities.

“Enforcement-only tactics don’t solve homelessness; they just move people from one place to another, drive up public cost and make people suffer more,” said Fernando Leon, a community organizer for Berkshire Interfaith Organizing. “We need housing that people can afford, safe, stable homes … let’s choose care over criminalization.”

Although the ordinance no longer explicitly criminalizes homelessness, many speakers argued that the penalties it imposes would still disproportionately harm unhoused individuals.

“Just fines and just community service can only be just that if you have resources,” said city resident Maizy Broderick Scarpa. “If that $15 is what you’re going to spend on food or go to something else, that’s actually a crisis financially, physically and emotionally.“

Several business owners also spoke in support of the ordinance. Local attorney Jesse Cook-Dubin argued that it would allow police to address disruptive behavior, such as public defecation and sleeping in doorways.

“It’s not homelessness that’s the problem; it’s the behavior,” he said. “Our police are saying that the city code does not give them the tools that they need to keep our city safe, and that this is one step toward getting them that help.”

Others, like Hotel on North owner David Tierney, urged officials to work collaboratively.

“You elected officials are here to find common ground for everyone in the city of Pittsfield, not just the small-business owners, not just the homeless advocates, but for everyone,” he said. “I’m asking you, please do your job; find a legitimate solution to this problem.”

Lampiasi criticized the ordinance’s vagueness, especially in how terms like “temporary” camping in vehicles would be enforced. Police would determine that on a case-by-case basis, said Devon Grierson, the city’s solicitor.

She also questioned the legality and logistics of the proposed community service alternative to fines.

“I think there are legitimate concerns about ADA compliance and what type of work this would actually entail,” Lampiasi said. “It’s unclear what this program looks like, and I don’t think we should move forward until we have a better understanding of it.”

It’s about the right to own property. Communists believe only a select group may own property, the rest belongs “to the state” which means out of favor and your greedy neighbor gets your car or your flat.

It’s not the behavior, it’s the preservation of property rights.

Renters own the right to their flats, homeowners own their yards, the City owns its parks.

So after having his firearm confiscated by police and released, despite being charged with several felonies, he’s arrested again brandishing a firearm a little over a month later in Pittsfield. A reminder that stricter gun laws are useless because criminals DO NOT obtain their firearms over the counter. They are given them to protect the drugs they are selling for someone else or they are purchased out of a trunk or a car that makes regular visits to the hood. Hot Plate has been treated like the golden child since before it even opened—everyone bent over backwards to support it. But the truth is, working with Mike is a nightmare for many, especially women. He’s known for being controlling, abrasive, and emotionally detached—some might call it obsessive, others might say there’s a lack of basic social awareness.
He doesn’t approach the business with heart or passion—it’s all about numbers, control, and surface-level trends. He’s not “woke,” he’s just chasing whatever’s hot in marketing. And despite the endless media fluff, online contests, and magazine write-ups… the beer still sucks, and the vibe is flat.
The only genuinely kind and welcoming presence in that space has always been Sarah. She was juggling a full-time job while Mike ran the place into the ground. She’s the heart and soul of that business, and yet Mike continues to overshadow her, dragging it down.
If the product were any good, they wouldn’t have to work so hard to bring people in with bands and gimmicks. Nobody goes for the beer—except maybe Marchetti and Pete White.

Perhaps the homeless could be hired to tear down the Waconah Park grandstands. The city could provide a bucket truck and a couple of torches, hack saws and bandages and let them go at it. (only five hundred feet to the emergency room)
This would save the taxpayers the five million the contractor would be getting. Then let the homeless take the scrap steel and sell it.

I heard at a local Speakeasy that the new facility will be including a 20 by 20 foot Trinitron that will be visible from the space station and will broadcast replays, mayoral proclamations and mostly advertisements that will generate mega bucks for its owners.
