GRIN AND BARRETT
From the Secret Squadron, high atop a mountainside overlooking the great metropolis of Pittsfield, The Planet moves sometimes undercover in the shades of night and other times, as here, within full view under the McDonald’s french fry lights of television. The Planet dutifully takes notes as John Barrett presents to the city council. Most of the writing took place out of camera range. A little bird has told us that Barrett, presently a consultant to the DPW revamping in Shire City, will before long be at the center of a large news story. Don’t tell anyone The Planet told you first.
I heard Deanna Ruffer is on her way out, to be replaced by Barrett. What a lovely bunch of coconuts.
There are rumors of some such swirling around at City Hall. Trying to sift hearsay from fact can be likened to picking out the gold, which is rare, from the pyrite, which is abundant.
No truth to this whatsoewver. John Barrett will be around for six months (3 months and an extension of three months) and that’s it. No city job. This comes from city hall.
I am still not in any way convinced that we are saving any money. Why would it take 3 months to put together a job description for the public works director. Whya are we hearing about how Barrett and Ruberto are like the dinamic duo going to Pizza works together to survey the damage. I fail to see what that has to do with why he was hired. But until November 2011 we will have to continue suffer the insufferable on many fronts. Until then, stay tuned for the next new job for Barrett.
