PLANET VALENTI News, Commentary, and Everything

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, FRIDAY, APRIL 13, 2012) — This Sunday, April 15, beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing to whenever, Ken Ramsdell and Friends presents the Toby II Dog Walk, in honor of little Toby Moore, the hero of the events of Dec. 8, 2011. Toby never left the side of his master after the latter was struck down and left for dead by a hit-and-run driver.

Toby II will feature informational booths of interest to pet owners, offer a great chance to meet like-minded people who love animals, truth, and justice. It will also provide an opportunity for your dog(s) to romp until their hearts stop singing, which for a dog is never.

THE PLANET honors Ramsdell for running the Ramsdellian Gauntlet in extracting a permit from an unyielding city, thereby exposing a ridiculous process that holds the city back in so many ways. Ramsdell knew all along he didn’t need no stinking permit to walk his dog, but he took one for the team in order to expose one of Pittsfield’s fault lines.

Hope that as many people as possible will join in the fun on Sunday at Kirvin Park. Even if you don’t own a dog but love dogs or wish to support a the great underlying cause that prompted this demonstration, you will have a blast.

WORDS OF WISDOM FROM SUSAN MOORE

In case you missed it, we present this posting from Peter Moore‘s mom, Susan. If bodes well for Peter and makes some trenchant points about the nature of justice in the Naked City.

We thank Susan Moore for her words.

Comments: Hi Dan,

I’m not sure if my post went in or not.  It didn’t show up but when I tried again it said it was a duplicate.  The text is below.  I mainly wanted to give Ken’s Dog Walk a plug and to make a point that Peter had to take a test before he could get back on the road yet Ms. Nilan is still driving after hitting him!!!!  It doesn’t seem fair and yet that is the way our system is designed.  Maybe in May one of the things that the court will require is a drivers test for her, maybe not.  Peter however, was thrilled to be able to stop and pick up a gallon of milk on his way home the other day.  It wasn’t that long ago he wasn’t allowed to pick up anything as heavy as a gallon of milk let alone drive to get one.  And he wasn’t allowed to drive as a passenger even in a car outside of Pittsfield in fear of an accident that would damage his neck further.  But he was able to go with his wife and children to her family for Easter.  Life is returning to normal for them, finally.  Come May it will be topsy turvy once again.

April 22 – 28th is National Crime Victims Week.  8 years ago 2 young boys were victimized by your Mr. Stracuzzi and last December my step son was victimized by Ms. Nilan.  That those two cases are linked at all is bizarre to say the least.  This years theme is: EXTENDING THE VISION: REACHING EVERY VICTIM.  I think Ken’s Dog Walk this Sunday counts as a kick off event for Extending the Vision.  Peter and his family will be attending.  For those of you who were so interested in his progress you should know he has his neck brace off finally and has passed his drivers exam and is mobile again. Yes, I know, he gets run over and has to take a drivers test before he can get back on the road yet the driver who hit him never lost hers.  That’s what happens I guess when you have a traumatic brain injury and your insurance company is involved.  But it is also a reason why  for the past 30 years there has been a week in April that people all over the Country try to raise the awareness of Victim
Needs.  This year they have chosen colors I find quite appropriate, blue and black —or as most victims appear, black and blue.  To learn more go to ovc.ncjrs.gov/ncvrw

We thank Susan Moore for her words.

‘I LOVE YOU AS ONE LOVES CERTAIN OBSCURE THINGS’

Love is in the air, oppressive or liberating. We cannot escape it, since it comes riding on a pull, like metal filings to a magnet. What generates this pull? Who can say. We can only share these words:

One Hundred Love Sonnets: XVII

BY PABLO NERUDA

TRANSLATED BY MARK EISNER

I don’t love you as if you were a rose of salt, topaz,
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as one loves certain obscure things,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that doesn’t bloom but carries
the light of those flowers, hidden, within itself,
and thanks to your love the tight aroma that arose
from the earth lives dimly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you directly without problems or pride:
I love you like this because I don’t know any other way to love,
except in this form in which I am not nor are you,
so close that your hand upon my chest is mine,
so close that your eyes close with my dreams.

Love is that anguished ecstasy. Love reminds us that we are forever alive. Love often involves choice, and as such, is one of the most defining of human conditions, reducing life to the preference of heartbeats. We must remember, though, that the only reason we ever have to choose is that we never possess all the information we need, let alone all the information there is. And so we stumble ahead, knowing that the result of a choice can only be lived with then made with an honest heart.
And who among us will dare to plumb those depths?
For her.
——————————————————————
OPEN TO ALL AVENUES AND ENTERTAINING ALL OPTIONS, WE RELEASE THE STRICTURES SO THAT INFORMATION CAN RUSH TO THE HEAD AND TO THE HEART. WHAT AN UNLIKELY MIX, THESE BUDDIES.
“OPEN THE WINDOW, AUNT MILLIE.”
LOVE TO ALL.

Looks like readers choice Ray.

I would like to see the Sherriffs crew (or somebody) out picking up roadside garbage. It is a shame we have so many slobs in town but these guys could do a great service.

How was the dog walk? I hope there was a good turn-out. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend but was there in spirit – I was thinking of Toby and Peter, and Ken for doing this!

Please let us know how it went. Thanks.

‘Ire Over Stracuzzi ‘Deal’ Sparks Incident at Greylock Federal Branch’

by G.M. Heller
Monday, April 16, 2012

Greylock Federal Credit Union members, still seething over the GFCU board of directors’ lack of transparency regarding former CEO Angelo Stracuzzi’s sudden departure and rumored ‘golden parachute’, vented their displeasure this past Saturday at one of the credit union’s Pittsfield branches.

The following is an eyewitness account of an incident that took place at GFCU’s branch on Merrill Road.

According to the eyewitness, whose name is being withheld upon request:

“I was in the bank and customers in line were getting very annoyed. It was busy and there were only two teller windows open.

“Meanwhile, three employees, two women and a guy with obviously little to do, were fooling around putting up posters and generally clowning around.

“The guy, who’d apparently finished what he was doing, then says to the two women,’What do we do now?’

“Just then, a customers in line, a woman, addressed the three saying,’How about going behind the counter and waiting on people?’

“Another customer in line, a male, spoke up,’As long as it’s question and answer time, can any of you tell me when Greylock Federal Credit Union is going to come clean on Angelo Stracuzzi’s golden parachute? After all, we are all shareholders and deserve to know how our money was spent.’

“The place fell deathly quiet.

“The customer continued,’Oh, and one more question. When did the rest of the board of directors first learn of Mr. Stracuzzi’s legal problems? It seems to me that if they were blindsided and only found out about it at the same time as the rest of us, they would have fired Mr. Stracuzzi and his accomplice Mr. Nilan rather than let them resign with compensation.’

“The room stayed quiet as a church for a long moment as the three decorating employees scurried away like rats without answering.

“Then something unexpected happened. Half, maybe more, of the customers in the bank burst into applause. It was totally spontaneous!

“A teller (not one of the three who’d earlier been decorating) sat down and opened up another window, and everyone in line moved through.

“As he was leaving, I saw at least two customers take the male questioner aside, shake his hand and thank him for speaking up.

“People have NOT forgotten!”

Heard ‘ol Angeblow is living on Tyler St. with a relative, a friend of mine saw him last week in old jeans and a beat up t shirt on that street. Sounds like a fall from glory.I guess his buddy ruberto was on the wee Willie Winkee show Friday and said Gov. Patrick had offered him a job in the DEP (department of environmental Protection) in MA, but he turned it down. Imagine offering the mayor of the most polluted city in the commonwealth, who did absolutely nothing to get rid of Hill 78 or try to reopen the crooked consent decree, a job protecting the environment.I hope Patrick isn’t running for another term because it seems he’s as crooked as the Squigmeister.I hope ruberto goes back to Florida and stays there.
