PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THURSDAY, JULY 16, 2015) — It’s in the can. No, not that way. And while we’re at it, leave Biddeford, Maine out of it. The granddad of a dear personal friend of THE PLANET‘s was born there. “In the can” is film talk for when a production wraps up and all is left is the post-production work. That’s where we are our second movie.

The first epic — In-CITY-ous: Pittsfield’s Crisis of Confidence — received a toasty  welcome by the discerning public, so we channeled our Stanley Kubrick to go at it again. THE PLANET banged out a treatment, consulted with our crew, and on Tuesday and Wednesday, we went on location and filmed. Our new production is called Kentucky Fried Pittsfield … or … Where Have You Gone, Col. Sanders?

Show, Don’t Tell

From the title, you can probably guess one (possibly two) of the locations. And this time, we also filmed outside Pittsfield, especially for the opening. You think the mayor of Pittsfield is all wet? You ain’t seen nothing yet. The theme for Kentucky Fried Pittsfield builds off of our first movie, presenting specific ways in which Pittsfield city government headed by the mayor has failed citizens and taxpayers.

Tonight, PLANET VALENTI TELEVISION presents the second showing of In-CITY-ous for those who missed it the first time and those who want to see it again. It begins at 7 p.m. and runs the hour on Time Warner Access Pittsfield Ch. 16.

———————————————————————————————-

Basement Pictures Run Contrary to Mayor’s Claims

THE PLANET has obtained exclusive photos of the ruined city hall basement. We obtained these photos through Neptune, a network of informants who also happen to be city employees.  The pictures are significant on two accounts: They show some of the damage to the basement caused by flooding resulting from shoddy work when fiberoptic cable was laid between 70 Allen St. to the new, unnecessary City Hall offices at 100 North St. That’s approximately $500,000, taxpayers, down the drain (pun intended) + $100,000 for work on the city hall foundation + remediation costs of the bad cable work. It’s your money, but neither you nor THE PLANET can tell you which account(s) the mayor raided to finance 100Gate. He’s not saying.

Water logged: Part of the damaged basement at city hall.

The first slide please, doctor:

Here we see a portion of the city hall basement that’s undergone obvious damage. In the upper right corner, you can see a cable coming out of a black, painted square on a piece of plywood. That’s the fiberoptic cable running to 100 North St. That’s what caused the damage. It appears as if the breached area is located in an area loaded with electricals. Fire hazard, anyone?

City sources tell THE PLANET the contractor didn’t use the right kind of fill in the street. During the recent heavy rains, the water ate through the gravel and ultimately worked its way through the opening around the cable. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but when you’re inside the room, you can tell the leak still isn’t properly sealed. Amazing. Beneath the cable you can see a drain pipe going out to the street. Notice the crumbling wall area to the left and right of the gray storage bin at lower right. From the photo, you can see the damage appears far greater than what the mayor’s office indicated in public comments. Also note the shoddy, amateurish nature of the “repair” work. You tax dollars, hard at work.

Photo #2

The mayor’s office stated record damage was minimal. Our sources say otherwise.

Waterlogged II — Great filing system, eh?

The mayor’s office reassured the public that  city records were being stored on pallets to keep them off the floor and away from the water. Take a look at Photo #2. The files are not on pallets. They rest directly on the floor. On closer inspection, you can see water stains on the bottom of the boxes. To the bottom right, you can see what appears to be a wet-vac, ready to be worked again for the next round. The stained carpeting looks like its still soaking-to-damp. One final point about this photo: Ask yourself. Does this appear to be a neat, orderly filing system? Perhaps these boxes and filed are in a temporary displacement. Perhaps not. Who knows what important stuff might be contained in there? Old menus from The Highland, ticket stubs from the 2004 World Series, a cancelled check for $100,000 made out to with Spectrum Health Services. The mind boggles.

THE PLANET thanks our Neptune network. No doubt the mayor will be turning the building upside down trying to find out who ate the missing strawberries, but he’ll never find out.

We’re operating right under his nose, and he doesn’t know it.

—————————————————————————————–

“Is it so frightening to have me at your shoulder. Thunder and lightning couldn’t be bolder. I’ll write on your tombstone, ‘I thank you for dinner.’ These games that we animals play, they’re a winner.”Jethro Tull, “Bungle in the Jungle,” from the Warchild album, (1974).

“OPEN THE WINDOW, AUNT MILLIE.”

LOVE TO ALL.

Double click the pic to enlarge.

I think Dan might have one of those bumble bee sized drones to take pictures like these. Dan can you imagine what awesome footage you might get with a drone following the mayor around?

Looking forward to the Kentucky Fried episode.

I am really looking forward to the Kentucky Fried episode. This disgusting blight is a stones throw from Mayor Dumbass’s pet project and Ribbon Cutting Silver Lake with the weeds so high you can’t see the water sitting on a bench, and the site of William Stanley Business Park. Surely wooing out of town business here to his Destination Fantasy.

Cut the poor man some slack. He is trying to hold down two full time jobs and run a city at the same time. He is for all intents and purposes a lame duck mayor so why should he give a shit?

Hey Dan,
Any chance you could post your videos to YouTube, after they air on PCTV? This way, those of us that catch up on The Planet at work, can also see the videos?

Keep fighting the good fight.

Those walls are showing signs of a long time dampness. I’d love to know the genius that 1 small box of baking soda on the table in the records room. Whats that going to? Ever hear of a dehumidifier?

I had planned on spending the day at the Hess Forest, but after going to get some chicken at Jester’s which is closed, then knowing the K F C was out of business, decided to just take in the old Pomeroy School Forest with a little Dunkin Donuts treats. What a day!

Funny, Red Faced Mayor Dumb Ass has the City trucks all over Silver Lake Paradise today Cleaning up the Weed. And….. City Sweepers out on Fenn Street and East Side, where no one has seen them. Just came back from that route. What a day for Pittsfield.

It’s taken 4 years for anything to get done in this city as far as roads, parks, and building is concerned.

I am sure what’s being done now has nothing to it being an election year.

Baking soda on the desk. That sums it up for me. Also in the first photo the walls look like they are disintegrating, that’s new damage not old as you can tell from the pile of stuff on the floor..

So let’s see I’m the Mayor and I spend 100 grand on about 500 sq feet on the floor’s in City Hall and call it an investment in the building.

Next move I make is to delclare the offices in City Hall are not fit for the employees(without any evidence I might add) and spend another 250-300 Grand moving everyone out to were I have my other full time job and office.

Ya thats it….Great use of the taxpayers money.

Vote for me I’m Dan Bianchi

Off topic: I’ve been out of the city and have seen nothing regarding the 5 shootings on Linden St. Any update ? Arrests ? Police Chief press conferences ? Is there a shooter on the loose or potential gang retaliation. Public safety concerns ?….???

Dowgerhat…….. The Citizens are under a Gestapo Administration. SEE No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil. Everything is Roses in the Pitts. Shhhhhhhh, the Tourists can’t know if the Citizens are kept at bay. What City or Town stands for this? Ask yourself.

Did everyone see Craig at Tuesdays city council meeting? The true champion of the city taxpayer- put chief Wynn in his cross hairs. He has become the obvious choice for mayor. It has become more and more obvious since the day I walked in on his announcement for mayor. We will do whatever it takes to get him elected. He will be the ultimate savior of this city.
Craig’s tv show will air friday the 17th on channel 16 and on sat the 18th at 10am,1:30pm, 5 pm and 8:30 pm.
Craig sends his regards to Dan and all the sane people on the Planet.
He also said he will be in main stream media from now on as he is virtually unknown to people who only get their news from the main stream media such as newspapers, radio, the Gazette and a few others.
Dan, Craig said he still loves you and hopes that you follow his campaign which is significantly ramping up. He is working everyday towards the mayors position.
The tearing down of Pittsfield and the rebuilding of Pittsfield under his watch will be complete in four years.
Here is a man that loves Pittsfield this is his city where he was born and raised. He loves the people and the places that makes up this fine city.He deserves to be mayor and we all deserves someone who has our best interest at heart.

Why isn’t he putting his campaign info on his Facebook page? It says right on his page that is why the page was set up but nothing about his campaign is there.

Glad to hear Craig is still forging ahead. He still looks like the best choice by far to me.

I voted for Bianchi to get rid of Ruberto. Who knew at the time that he was the wolf in sheep’s clothing? Unfortunately if I now vote for Tyer I wind up getting Ruberto back with a different face. So it is a breath of fresh air to have Craig come on board and give me a real choice for government by the people instead of the special interests who have a choke hold on this city.

Sorry to see Craig has left us, it is what it is. His basic message was the Council and Mayor haven’t done the job and most of the manager and higher up in the School department….everyone was not spared a tongue lashing. Hopefully on his new Show he can reiterate in a softer but firm fashion what he needs to do so the City and it’s citizen can get untracked. We don’t need Linda or Tes in there and although Craig is rough around the edges, his principles speak for themselves.

One would think the public should be aware of the shooter or shooters. Why so quiet?

Maybe they don’t want the people to panic if they knew what was really going on. A more responsible city leader would talk to the people.

I missed the Chicken part, but onto the shootings here. If someone is on the loose and the public is unaware,or not cognizant of who or what the person or persons look like and said persons inflict injury on a citizen, can the city be libel for withholding that info?
