(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION DEC. 14-16, 2018) — The perfect Christmas and holiday activity for you, the family, festivity seekers, music lovers, and Beatlemaniacs will take place Saturday (tomorrow, if you’re reading this on Friday) Dec. 15, at the First United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. as BERKSHIRE BEATLESQUE brings its show home. The church is located on upper Fenn Street, opposite city hall, at the Renne Avenue intersection.
BERKSHIRE BEATLESQUE, featuring local guitar and music legends Mick Valenti (of QUARRY, QUICK FOX fame) and Jay Fruet, perform Beatle songs with spectacular, note-for-note reproductions of the Fab Four’s best songs, as heard on their albums. The six-piece, critically acclaimed group will be backed by a chorus on Beatle-related Christmas songs. It promises to be a fabulous, fun show the entire family will enjoy.
THE PLANET simply had to share that plug because, you know, Mick’s our bruv. And if you attend, don’t be surprised if you run into THE PLANET. He may be dressed as Santa, as Brian Epstein … or he may be disguised as … himself!

Will the Parks Commission make the ultimate decision on logistics and financing for all of this? And will the CC have a say in how this money is spent? They should, since they are the ones elected to serve the citizens and not an appointed commission.
Those who are pushing for “pickleball” should establish a go-fund me account or pay for it themselves.

The biggest joke ever played 9ut in this city was when tyer best the Gman for mayor in 2015.Everyone has seen him in action these past few months trying to prevent the rate payers from a certain blood bath. If he were elected mayor in 2015 there would have been no new THS. The budget would be down by 21% and anotheb7% in next fiscal year. There would be beat cops in the seaside and morning side area and all cops body cameras. If updates need to be done at water and sewer plants who better to be mayor tan him to address those problems. These are just a few of the thins we would have seen in a Gaetani administration. Never the less the Gman is moving the negatives forward and should be listened to carefully. That’s all she is and doesn’t have a single accomplishment of any significance after warming the seat at city hall for 3 years. Compare her to the Gman and you have no commonality to even speak about.I spoke to Gman today and he says he likes speaking for the tax and ratepayers as their unofficial spokesman. and may decide to become their Official spokesman down the road but his prime objective is to rescue the tax and rate payers from what is being stuffed down their throats by this incompetent mayor and dpw comish tutocy whom the Gman says is not qualified to be comish ad he has no backgrounds. The Gman states if he ever becomes the city boss he will insure that every person holding a city position will need to be fully qualified or out the door they will go like when the Gman had to fire Gerald Doyle senior for massive incompetence. The Y has a pocket pool court. Come down and play.
There’s one big difference, Milt. Pickle ball needs a consultant, park space, big study that will require money – yours, by the way. That you’ll be taxed on. Pickle ball requires city officials (some) to make these momentous decisions. Pocket pool is free that anyone can play -well 50% of the population anyway.

Also,the Bossidy money has really been great for our kids playing ball as they have much improved fields which have been notoriously awlful in Pittsfield for at least 50 years,The play equipment is really safe and of high quality.Basketball courts are really great. Mr Bossidy can be very proud of his investment.
What !!! Who the heck is this person of last two posts? First of all you talk about mold at Crosby. Are you sure it is not asbestos? Check 1980 school committee race for answer to this.
Secondly, you mention the $1,000,000.00 donation for “improvement and preservation of playing fields”. The money was squandered. Did you know $65,ooo.oo was spent on consultants? Did you know $120,456.oo was spent and had to be returned to the account because money was spent on crap items unrelated to donors request? Did you know money spent on parks have since been done over for other purposes? What a boondoggle.
If by play equipment you mean the climb on and crawl through fun areas for youngsters, you are correct. They are safe and high quality. Did you know special approval for this was given by the donor because it did not fit into donors original request of “improvement and preservation of playing fields”.
Careful what you say if you don’t know what you are talking about. I’m beginning to wish I had followed through on my long ago thought to ask for a forensic audit.
