WHAT IS A ‘CITIZEN’? 2020 CENSUS WANTS TO KNOW ‘WHO’

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY JUNE 24, 2019) — What is a U.S. citizen? Who are they? No, it’s not an Abbott and Costello routine (“What’s on second, Who’s on first”).

It should be clear. You’re a citizen if (a) you’re born in America or one of its possessions or (b) if you’re naturalized after lawfully immigrating.

In taking a nationwide census, which America does every 10 years, we count citizens and those who reside here. Once upon a time, THE PLANET would not have to explain such things, but the radical leftists (radlefs) who have taken control of the Democratic Party want the 2020 census to be different.

For the record, the census has always included a question on citizenship either directly or through sampling. In present form, a sample size of 2.6% includes that question. It’s been that way since 1970. From 1890 to 1960, every census form included a question on citizenship status, necessary because immigration during the earlier phase of that period hit almost 15%. After dipping into the low- to mid-single figures, the number of foreign-born people living in the coutry has risen to 14%. That’s why the Departments of Justice and Commerce want to once again include the question on all forms.

That information will:

  • Provide a more accurate count
  • Factor into determination of congressional representation
  • Help allocate federal funds
  • Protect the rights of minority voters (including non-English speakers) as spelled out in federal Voting Rights Act.

Without the citizen question, census would have to rely on a process called “imputation.” That involves the use of additional federal and state records (and resources) to fill in missing data on people.

In another time, another era, this would not be an issue. Common sense would prevail. This erstwhile no-brainer, however, has turned into yet another political hot-swamp courtesy of the radlefs. The Democrat-controlled House Oversight Committee proved this when it voted to hold the attorney general and head of Commerce in contempt of Congress for restoring the citizen query on the 2020 census form. It’s part of the slash-and-burn tactics of the radlefs, who, though their words say otherwise, act in a way guaranteeing another four years for Donald Trump.

The question, which would be the final one on the form, is simple. It reads:

“Is this person a citizen of the United States?”

(    ) Yes, born in the United States.

(    ) Yes, born in Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands or Northern Marianas.

(    ) Yes, U.S. citizen by naturalization — Print year of naturalization ________.

(    ) No, not a U.S. citizen.”

As you can see, the question WILL count non-citizens who reside in the country, contrary to what the opposition would have you believe. Let Rep. Alexandria Ocascio-Cortez (D-Lipstick) speak for them. At the contempt hearing, she claimed citizenship “is an acknowledgment of power.” It’s a “right” and not a privilege, she said, adding that the Trump Administration put in the question to gather intelligence of where illegals are hiding. She ignores the federal law that prohibits using the census for political purposes, citing FDR’s use of “zip codes” to figure out “where Japanese-Americans were concentrated.”

Yes. She stated that Roosevelt’s roundup of Japanese-Americans replied on “zip codes.”

THE PLANET wants to tell AOC, “Honey, the U.S. Postal Service didn’t introduce zip codes until 1963.”

But we won’t.

Can we just leave it at that?

Who could survive on $250.00 per week? Only people already receiving public assistance with food and medical. I think that people should be required to work for any additional financial assistance in their lives.

The Federal Minimum wage is $7.25 per hour or $290 per 40 hr week. Raising is causing job loss for the low wage workers. I often call it the “Robot Employment Law” because at higher, “more fair” wages, robots become economical.

The internet of things is happening regardless of federal minimum wage changes. Rather than minimum wages, we should have guaranteed income benefits.

What difference does it make? If there are 100 people being counted, 10 are not citizens while 90 are citizens, it is still 100 people! The citizenship question seem redundant and bureaucratic!!!!

The more they count, the more social service money the state/city/town will get.

That is John, you get to pay for more criminal aliens with your tax dollars.

In this data collection digital society, is a census even needed anymore? They know when you wake, when you sleep, when you eat, what you eat, where you shop, what you buy,how many times a day you shit and when you fart. All this seemingly meaningless data is being collected on everyone.

Yet, they can’t figure out how many people are living here? Or is something more nefarious afoot?

You must fill out a sense-US.

You do not distinguish between the ACS and the decennial census. They are distinct and used for different purposes.

Now, I do concede, the census does not ask about the lawfulness of immigration status, only citizen status. I do not mind the citizen question except:

1. A racist republican strategist explained to Commerce Department appointees that the citizenship question deters non-white and non-republican voters. The talking point PlanetMynaBird espouses about protecting minority voters is completely disingenuous and contrived.

2. The census information must only be used for legislatively enabled purposes, however, I don’t trust this or any other administration to try to use citizenship question answers as a way to illegally search for undocumented residents.

If you are a citizen what is the harm in checking “YES”. If you are black blue green yellow or white?

“Undocumented residents” are a problem, I prefer the term criminal aliens.

They use resources that should be used for American citizens. They should be expelled to where they came from. No social services provided, other than food/shelter until they are deported.

So there’s been some form of citizenship question on either the long form or the ACS since the 70’s. I guess they stopped it in 2010 under Obama (oddly enough).

What’s the big deal here? I’ve gotta say this kind of thing it out of hand. There’s no reason you should be able to ask a citizenship question, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to deport illegals.

Heck even Canada did an about (aboot) face after their minor influx of illegal immigrations last winter.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/06/23/expert-matter-time-illegal-alien-voting-expanded/

Elected Democrats will soon attempt to expand voting rights in deep blue states for illegal aliens, an election fraud expert says.

Last week, Democrats in New York state approved and signed into law a plan to give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens with the backing of the business lobby. The law allows for the state’s 725,000-strong illegal alien population to be eligible for the same driver’s license that American citizens are afforded.

Already, state officials have said the law will effectively give illegal aliens the ability to vote as New York registers citizens to vote at state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) offices.

Government Accountability Institute (GAI) Director of Research Eric Eggers exclusively told Breitbart News that the new law in New York indicates that it is “only a matter of time” before elected Democrats in states like California, New York, Massachusetts, Oregon, and Maryland expand voting rights for illegal aliens.

Trap,

They have already expanded the right for illegals to vote in local elections such as school boards etc.. in certain states. and this is the build up to them being legally allowed to vote in federal elections. When one illegal vote can change an outcome of an election it is one to many.

Any applicant for a city job who has political connections has a leg up on the person who has none even if that person has much better qualifications. And that is why you see a city like Pittsfield in such a state of dysfunction.

Re: Carmen Massimiano

The Eagle’s news story about Carmen Massimiano stepping down from Pittsfield’s Licensing Board had all glowing reviews from Mayor Linda Tyer and others. I never understood why Pittsfield politicians always praise and fear him.

When I was 22 years old during the Sping and part of the Summer of 1998, then state Senator Andrea F. Nuciforo, Jr. set up secretive plans with the Pittsfield Police Department to have me arrested and jailed by making false accusations that I made “veiled threats” against him over his support of the abolishment of Berkshire County government. The end game was to have then Berkshire County Sheriff Carmen C. Massimiano, Jr. punish me for standing up to Nuciforo.

Years later, I returned to Pittsfield sometime in the year 2004 or 2005, when I was near 30 years old, to attend an event to provide housing to at-risk homeless Veterans. Of course, at the event, Carmen Massimiano gave an award to Nuciforo – neither are Veterans. After the event, Carmen Massimiano told me that he knows that I know what he and Nuciforo tried to do to me, and that I shouldn’t feel safe now that I live in New Hampshire. I received the opposite of an apology, but rather a verbal taunt and threat from Carmen Massimiano.

I am a 100% disabled Veteran who served honorably in the U.S. Army, and shortly after Carmen Massimiano confronted me, I read that he was given Veteran of the Year Award in Pittsfield. Like Jack Downing, Carmen Massimiano is not a Veteran!

Then, in 2010, the Eagle reported allegations that Carmen Massimiano sexually abused a then 7 year old boy in the early-1970’s at the Pittsfield Boys Club. Carmen denied the allegations, and threatened to sue the Eagle’s editor and writer. In blogs, I read that during Carmen Massimiano’s teenage years through his 20’s – and possibly beyond his 20’s, he allegedly sexually abused young boys at Camp Russell and the Boys’ Club. I even read a blog posting that alleged a man took his own life to suicide based on the alleged sexual abuse by Carmen Massimiano. The man could not safely seek either help or justice because Carmen Massimiano was powerful and feared in Pittsfield.

It all turns my stomach! Pittsfield politics should be about democratic ideals instead of everyone praising and fearing Carmen Massimiano.

All weekend we have been suffering through the far left media spreading lies about mistreatment at the border by not allowing toothbrushes for children. The case they are referring to however, was being argued about incidents that occurred during the Obama administration NOT the Trump administration. Just like they conveniently confuse pictures of children in cages during the Obama administration and say the pictures are from the Trump administration.

“A viral video of a Justice Department lawyer arguing before a panel of judges last week that kids don’t need toothbrushes and soap to meet the standard for “safe and sanitary” detention under the so-called Flores settlement has caused outrage.

But few have stopped to note that the underlying case had to do with a district court finding that the Obama administration in 2015 was in material breach of the Flores standard (or that the DOJ lawyer was offering a technical legal argument — not a defense of mistreating kids).”

If the far left was really interested in problems at the border they would quickly pass legislation to fix the problem.

“To address the root cause of the crisis, it should also change the bizarre asylum rules that have forced us to release family units from Central America into the country, creating an incentive for more to come.”

There is a crisis at the border and the far left knows it, but prefers to USE the crisis to blame President Trump for the problems and in so doing show that they are really not concerned about the humanitarian crisis at the border. They also want lots of illegal immigrants to enter the country even under these conditions of so many entering the country at one time while at the same time saying they are so concerned about conditions at the border.

Moon is a bumbling idiot. It’s been promoted, by their own organization, as the “fastest growing sport you’ve never heard of”.
It was a PR bit done in conjunction with NBC news as paid “news”tainment. It was part of their “Better” segment as a puff piece.
It is as they say, fake news. This is all marketing because one of the families that invented it and has an interest in the sale of all things Pickleball is a VP at NBC.
Pickleball has had a 650 percent increase in numbers over the last six years, according to USA Pickleball Association (USAPA). The biggest subset of that growth is not in the over-60 crowd, says Justin Maloof, executive director of USAPA, but the younger set. “When the sport first caught on in the sunbelt states around 2009, it was at 55-plus centers and RV communities,” he says. “It snowballed from there.”

Loon Moon ignores that it’s an outdoor sport, best for the sunbelt, made to be played on converted tennis courts.
It’s supposed to be CHEAP to build and not need dedicated courts.

“Because most pickleball games are played on retrofitted tennis courts, it’s quick and easy for a parks and recreation department to get the game up and running, too. “You don’t need dedicated courts, so with some tape and a portable net, you can be good to go within a half hour,” says Maloof.”

Pittsfield has already wasted $20,000 on Pickleball and they don’t even have a court.

Will the census form have any questions about pickle ball?

Pickleball is pretty popular. Both my teenage daughters had it in gym and enjoy playing.

Your kids were forced to play it, like volleyball, badminton, and doge ball. Ask what games they would prefer to play. I’m sure most kids like playing four square.

I did ask them, they enjoyed pickleball. FYI, high school gym doesn’t have Foursquare…. this isn’t camp Russell. Also, my kids would never go to a trash system like PPS.

Dan I heard a couple three City Clowncilors saying the D P W is underfunded and the workers aren’t lazy. Well, who said they were lazy,if the budget wasn’t so bloated at the schools maybe Trochee could hire more people. Personally I think he is at fault, he’s the DPW Commissioner. This guy is leaving town and because of him alternative ways to save tens of millions go with him.

Krol says the schools have contributed enough to help the insurance co pay? In what Society. Vote all these Councilors out. And don’t vote for Yuki or J Lo,they would be worse. Unless of course, you don’t mind being taxed to death for items you rarely would use.

G E isn’t coming back,but the Arts haven’t arrived either.

Pickleball is a Great Barrington activity for old people .Pittsfield is a sports town not a pickleball town….. .The Trump administration illegally changed the census but Trump people are hired to break Americas laws and patriots like Congress woman Cortez will not allow it at the peoples house. We won’t allow fascist to take over America.

The Arts are for the newYorkers, like Joyce, the Restauranteur (how’d that work out) and for some reason former Mayor Ruberto had a psychedelic vision that this would be the end all for the future of Polookaville. Man, was he wrong. Vote this Yuki chick, orc J Lo in,and the balance of power will be worse than it ever was. And it is bad NOW.

Where are all these pickle ball
Games being played now? Seems to be just fine and growing the way it is. Not for the greater public good. Stop throwing my tax money at it ! A very small percentage of people play. Make the school department put it on their grounds with the tens of millions of dollars they have at their disposal then the kids can play and the seniors after school hours. Why put it off school grounds when it could serve a dual purpose and have some sort of oversight
