(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY CHRISTMAS DAY 2019) — And so this is Christmas …
It is a season borne in hope, developed in possibility, and rounded in occurrence. Christmas brings everyone back again, circle like, to Christmases past which, incidentally, provides the thematic subtext of Dickens’ classic. The 25th of December is that yearly, year-end day when we confront or welcome, as the case may be, where we are, what we’v done, and who we’ve become. It is a day in which our personal archetypes and myths top themselves upon us like layers of blankets on a cold bed, warming body and soul … or chilling us to the bone. We all have that most memorable Christmas as well as the ghosts of Christmas past.
May your days be merry and bright …
Dead loved ones make their visit in family traditions, and even in the bleakest household of the most forgotten person, if he or she has experienced at least one joyful Christmas, they will remember. Maybe the recollection triggers heartache, but that, too, is a thing of hope. No matter where we are in life, we are all going through “personal things.” Christmas amplifies these matters.
Christ mas. The arrival of The Christ.
You may believe. You may not believe. They, too, are opposite ends that meet in abutment, the joined snipped-ends of redemption.
Christmas blessings to all from THE PLANET. May it be a day of joy and, in the Epiphanic sense, a season of love and peace of mind.

I like the line “little silent Christmas tree”. We all need more silence in our lives once in a while, but especially this time of year when everything can get so hectic. Silence is not a bad thing. Even if you have a noisy family with lots of kids, try to create just a moment of silence so everyone can appreciate the magic of this special day. Merry Christmas to everyone!!!!

In this hectic digital world of noise assaulting us by the millisecond, there is what I call “Going analog.” It is the silence of all electronic devices getting shut down, a cozy chair, and a book or magazine on good old paper. Silent night.
