IMPEACHMENT IRONY … plus … IS IT ‘RESOURCE OFFICER’ OR ‘BOUNCER?’ — YOU GET TO PLAY ‘ASSIGNMENT EDITOR’

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEKEND EDITION JAN. 31-FEB. 2, 2020) — For The Weekend Edition, THE PLANET gives you an eyeshade, armbands, a cigar, and a gluepot, because you get to play “Assignment Editor.” You will decide on the topics via The Comment Line. We’ll get it started with brief words on a couple of timely topics.

The first is the anticlimactic impeachment proceedings in Senate chambers. Digging reporters have unearthed clips and articles of Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., lead House impeachment manager, denigrating the credibility of President Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton. In 2018, Schiff dismissed Bolton as a kook who believed in “conspiracy theories.” The irony, of course, is that this week, Schiff stressed the urgent need for a suddenly credible Bolton to testify in the impeachment trial as a vital witness.

“[Bolton] is someone who’s likely to exaggerate the dangerous impulses of the president toward belligerence, his proclivity to act without thinking, and his love of conspiracy theories,” Schiff told MSNBC‘s Rachel Maddow on March 22, 2018, when Trump named Bolton national security adviser.

“And I’ll, you know, just add one data point to what you were talking about earlier, John Bolton once suggested on Fox News that the Russian hack of the DNC [Democratic National Committee] was a false flag operation that had been conducted by the Obama administration,” he said. “So, you add that kind of thinking to [former U.S. attorney] Joe diGenova and you have another big dose of unreality in the White House.”

And another big dose of politics, which is what this dime-a-dozen impeachment has been from the start.

Friday will be a key day in the trial. THE PLANET‘s guess is that Schiff and the House managers will realize they can’t win their quest for witnesses, with the trial wrapping up quickly with acquittal for the President.

———- ooo ———-

The second story is the typical Pittsfield typhoon in a thimble caused by the open “resource officer” position at North Junior High School, sometimes known as Reid Middle School. With the city finances a mess, taxes breaking the Kapaskis’ backs, a mass exodus of the middle class, and an influx of gangs and rugs, and this is the kid of issue the city with which the city ties itself into knots.

“Resource officer” is the equivalent of “bouncer” in a dive bar. That’s what middle school has become in the woeful Pittsfield Public School system under the direction of Hacko di tutti Hacki, Supt. JIV McCandless.

Then we have the precious testimony of Eden Renee Hayes. She’s the “Dean of Equity and Inclusion” at Simon’s Rock College.

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before.

Eden, who must have bitten from the forbidden apple, told the city council of her expertise in “implicit bias.” She thinks cops are stupid, citing “studies” suggesting that police think black boys are older than their actual age.

“Studies.” Right. The University of Guam.

“It’s those intersections we have to think about,” she said. “They want to use force against little black 8-year-olds.”

No, woman. The intersection we need to worry about is Fenn and East streets.

At this juncture, allow THE PLANET to conduct a simple thought experiment. Imagine that a middle-aged white man made the same observation as the “Dean of Equity and Inclusion.” How fast would it be before Eden Renee Hayes, Shirley Edgerton, Drew Herzig, and the rest of the Gimme Girls would have the roof down on the poor bastard’s head? Cries of “racist” would be more numerous than confetti at a Times Square ball dropping.

That’s all we have. THE PLANET now gives the talking stick to you. Any and all topics. Belly up.

Have a great weekend, everybody.

I was thinking about buying a 1/2-million dollar condo in Lenox so I could be neighbors with you know who. But I don’t have the money to live the high life in the beautiful Berkshires. Rather, I’d end up living near North Street where I would get mugged and assaulted. Ergo, I am staying put in Amherst, NH.

For Tyer to support a subcommittee to study cops in schools is a joke. It’s called a no brainer. The radical left is against cops in schools because black boys get in trouble more than white boys and they don’t want the black boys getting in trouble and they blame it on bias. Crosby was a junior high back in the 70’s and it was a zoo. No doubt north is ten times worse today. Tyer should be tarred and feathered over this. And why can’t the police keep cops on the job when the average cop can make 100,000 per year?

North Junior High, now Reid, was once a great school. Principal Reid was fantastic and would never have tolerated constant bad behavior from students. Turning the schools into political and social experiment projects is the problem. Young people need a much more structured and calm environment in which to learn and they need to be taught the basics NOT political indoctrination courses.

Problem is moral decay and lack of real families with BOTH , mother AND father.

That is TWO genders, and at least one working full time at a living wage.

Kids need to lean basic R R A, not sexual perversions when they are yet into puberty.

The enemy is indoctrination of the children to the far left political agenda. That is wrong, dangerous and evil. It was done in Nazi Germany to make the youth loyal to Hitler and the Nazi movement. Here it is being done to brainwash the young to believe that the far left Progressives have all the answers and we should allow their big government and climate change hysteria. They aren’t being told the other side which is the dangers of big government corruption and losing our freedoms and how they are being taught to NOT think for themselves.

I think good families can look a lot of different ways. The progressive shell game of race baiting is a big distraction while the schools pick your pockets. You can’t control how people live in a democracy but you can at a public school. Kick them out if they repeatedly break the rules. Let the 200 or so gainfully employed social workers with their super funded social assistance programs that glut Pittsfield take over responsibility. Make those hangers on work for their money. I bet they find it’s the middle class kids in the end anyway. Go figure.

https://www.redstate.com/bonchie/2020/01/30/house-impeachment-manager-says-the-steele-dossier-wouldnt-be-impeachable-because-it-was-paid-for/

“The fact is, the Democrats don’t have an actual standard. It’s simply “get the orange man” and nothing more. If Trump does something, it’s bad. If a Democrat does the same thing, it’s different just because. It’s an unbelievable level of hypocrisy and it’s no way to treat the constitutional process.

This entire spectacle has devolved into levels of absurdity I didn’t think were possible. The House passed their articles of impeachment without a solid case and now demand the Republicans provide them with one in the Senate. Meanwhile, the Democrats are so eaten up with partisan hypocrisy that they have to twist themselves into knots to explain how the Steele Dossier doesn’t meet the standards of foreign interference in our elections they’ve been screaming about for the entirety of Trump’s presidency.”

Frankly Mad, I believe all of us – you included – are far too hung up in partisanship and being either right or left. We all really want the same thing – a decent life for ourselves and our families. That shouldn’t be hard to accomplish. But neither side has the brains to do it. As for my opinion of Trump, he’s been a sleazy operator his whole life, everyone knew that before the election, so why be surprised that he’s still at it? Leopards can’t change their spots any more than Don can change who he is. Time to just move on. Time to focus on our local issues.

I agree Mad Trapper. If the far left thought what President Trump did was wrong, they had other channels less severe that they could have pursued. It makes no sense that John Bolton needs to testify because even if what he says is true, which given the conspiracy prone personality of Bolton (admitted even by Adam Schiff) may not be true, the fact is that this is not impeachable. This whole impeachment was political just like the Mueller investigation was political. Glen Beck will be coming out with a thoroughly investigated report next Thursday which will expose all of the illegal activities going on in the Obama administration that were the beginnings of all of these fake investigations by the far left.

Didn’t she rave about how her son was a straight A student, etc, but scared of a police officer? In this scenario, I really do feel bad for the kids and thank god my parents never subscribed to a victim mentality. I was taught to not be an asshole, respect teachers & authority within the school, and to do my work. Its funny how it works, when you follow that philosophy you tend not to have any interaction with law enforcement.

Stood in line for more than 4 1/2 hours last night. Made it to just outside the doors of the U.S. Senate Gallery, but the gavel came down and Chief Justice Roberts ended Thursday’s session, so I was unable to witness any of the questions and answers. Thankfully, Capitol Police allowed our group of twenty-one to enter the Senate chamber for a few minutes just in time to see Senators leaving. A few still hung about. The Trump team was conferring and still collecting papers and files at their long desk, whereas House Managers had already left. In my group were folks who had arrived that morning flying the ‘red-eye’ from California just to attend the Trial.

Shouldn’t the appropriate title for Eden Renee Hayes, be “Dean of Exclusion.” Just curious how many white males, who identify as straight, has Hayes helped or “included.” I’m also curious what Hayes response is to Jussie Smollett or the black females who wrote racist graffiti and staged a crime? I hear the term “let’s have a discussion.” Ok, let’s, but this time instead of you telling me how much I wronged you, let me speak. I want Hayes to discuss those above facts with me, especially the studies and research she’s has conducted on the topic of “white police bullying small black boys.” I have emailed Simon Bard college, to include the administration. I have never seen or heard of these studies. If Hayes cannot produce these studies, I feel Hayes is a racist and should be terminated from her position for these racist comments. As Dan eluded to above, if a white male/female had made an outrageous claim like this and had zero facts to back it up, they would be fired immediately. The reverse discrimination is getting tiring.

I’d like Shirley Edgerton to explain to me the steps she took to try and prevent her family members from dealing narcotics to the citizens of Pittsfield? Did a white male force them to do that? Or a white woman? Shirley Edgerton seems to have done fine for herself. Why couldn’t her family follow suit?

DA Harrington-why were these black females not charged with a hate crime? vandalism? filing a false report? Because you know damn well if this crime was legit, the white males would have been charged-as they should have!! But, you also know DA Harrington would have her name smeared all over this case, like dog sh*t under a work boot.

Helen Moon, her comments about police officers was great too. Since when did kids become so afraid of police officers? I was always taught as a little kid to run to a police officer if there was trouble. So what is Helen proposing, well besides another $85,000+ year job for an adjustment councilor/social worker? Helen Moon should get her head out of Harrington’s moon and go ride a few shifts with PPD and watch how the officer play social worker/parent/advisor to various people day after day. But hey, I put a lot of stock in somebody who busted their ass in RN school, only to leave that craft a few years later, to become basically a glorified office-temp. I get more money, but it shows her lack of character and drive.

And one last question to all of you ‘restorative justice reformers,” Harrington, Hayes, Edgerton, Tyer, Farley-Country-Buffet, Moon, Marchetti, and Bear Bare:

How do you feel about the drug dealers in NYC who got caught w/millions of dollars worth of heroin and fentanyl, released on low-bail/no bail, because drug dealing is a non-violent offense?

Last time I checked, fentanyl/heroin was declared a health crisis because of the alarming deaths from OD’s. So, yeah, I see where it’s non-violent.

I was trying to get the latest data on school choice especially data on how many students are leaving Pittsfield. The school department’s budget book had data from 2018. Then a friend pointed me to the Mass DOE website and I downloaded the Excel sheet for the entire state. http://www.doe.mass.edu/finance/schoolchoice/preliminary-choice-tuition20.xlsx
I was shocked to find out that Pittsfield has the second highest exodus of students leaving the district. Springfield has 865 FY20, Pittsfield has 590 and Worcester has 495 students leaving their districts. For our population, this number is alarming. It points a big red flag at the PSD administration and school committee. Most of the people I speak with choice their students out because of the lack of discipline in the PSD. The idea of removing SRO’s from the 2 middle and high schools is ridiculous.

A BIG RED FLAG. If we could only find a way to give them more money everything would be peachy. OR, if a larger part of the billions we give schools now actually went for its intended purpose instead of all the side show shit. Bottom line is that the Pittsfield school system is set up to benefit special interests NOT the school children. Too bad this BIG RED FLAG could not turn into a forensic audit of the school system as it would in any business trying to find out why it is failing so badly. Not with this mayor and lap dog council system of government though.

Mark, thanks so much for this information. Once again you have out done yourself. You have given us taxpayers more information in the past few weeks than we have received in four plus years. Why is Lovely Linda not demanding an answer from McCanass as to why the students are leaving? Too bad you are not getting some of Lovely Linda’s, McCanass and Kerwood’s paycheck. Thanks again.

I totally blame Lovely Linda for this mess. As someone that voted for her the first time around, I gave her a chance for the first few years, but then I realize that she was not doing her job and was evidently afraid of her department heads. I did not vote for her the second time around, but once she won I was hoping that a light bulb would go off in her head that half the residents were not happy with her, unfortunately I was wrong about that light bulb, or does she just not care? She has a total mess in the School Department, Public Works Dept.(evidently the sand budget is already over budget and we have not even had a winter so far) the Police Department and a morale problem in City Hall. Her buddy Kerwood just stutters through presentations, the City Council can’t make a decision to save their sole with Pee Pee Petie at the helm and she just sits back and takes it in. A good Mayor would be kicking a** at their department heads and telling them to straighten out or they will be canned. They all act like little children in a candy store, keep spending money with absolutely no responsibility. I have said this many times, none of these department heads including the Mayor would make it in the private sector. Reid definitely needs a Resource Officer, there is no need for a damn meeting. I am still angry that Lovely Linda and her pal Wynn have not stood up against the comments made by the Simon’s Rock Dean of Diversity and Inclusion regarding our hard working police officers. Where is Wynn, is he AWOL again? Why is he not standing up for his officers? No wonder they are leaving to go to the Sheriff’s department and the State Police. Maybe BCC can offer a free course to the Mayor and her department heads on how to create an Excel spreadsheet, maybe then they can keep track of their spending habits. It is time for the Mayor and all her department heads to do their jobs that they are being highly paid for. Didn’t they all get a nice raise last year? I didn’t did you? No my real estate taxes, house assessment and water rates just went up!

The Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrats keep chanting “fairness”, when they put on the most unfair Witch Hunt in the history of the U.S. Congress. They had 17 Witnesses, we were allowed ZERO, and no lawyers. They didn’t do their job, had no case. The Dems are scamming America!

Also VERY sick of Chuck Schumer who is now going around saying this was a cover up for President Trump. I agree with someone I heard yesterday who said Schumer is a street fighter. He sure doesn’t act like someone who wants to heal the country after all of these outrageous investigations. He just wants to keep creating more tension in this country.

I dislike both of them. Shifty seems unable to tell any truths and Schumer is a street fighter for every stupid idea coming from the far left. Both seen unable to understand how all of these investigations are very bad for our country and they just keep adding fuel to the fire with their comments, the latest being nonsense about a cover-up and of course the far left media is their cheerleader. Wait for the New York times and other far left news media to start trashing the Senate and coming up with “new shiny objects” to try to support their impeachment claims. The ultimate goal of the far left is one party rule so they will spin this to their advantage by putting down the Republican senate because they know there are many Americans who believe every word the media tells them and do NOT think for themselves.

Spent 4 1/2 hours yesterday evening standing in line to get a seat in the U.S. Senate Gallery for The Trial. Alas, Chief Justice Roberts gaveled the session to a close just as our line of 21-persons was set to enter the Chamber. We never got to see any of the official proceedings, but Capitol Police felt empathy with our group and decided at least to let us into the Chamber for a few minutes to see and get a sense of the place. Inside, though the Chief Justice had already left the dais along with everyone at the House Managers table in the Senate ‘well’, there were still attorneys conferring around the White House table while collecting papers and files.

There were a few Senators still about, engaged in conversations. Amongst our Gallery group there were folks from all over. Two ladies behind us had flown that morning from California on the ‘red-eye’. The woman from San Francisco was dressed in costume, decked-out as a Betsy Ross-inspired Revolutionary War soldier, with star-and-striped dress, gold-braided jacket, and three-cornered hat.

The American President should have a new title: “The Imperial U.S. President of the Universe second only to God”. The Imperial President Donald Trump can do whatever he wants without any consequences. We are no longer a nation of laws, but rather, we are an imperial nation of one all powerful U.S. President named Donald Trump. The U.S. Constitution is now just another piece of paper. The Iron Rule of Oligarchy theory is now a sad reality. The word of the people in power is the law instead of the law being the word of the people. The U.S. Senate by a 51 – 49 vote disallowed witnesses and evidence in a sham impeachment trial in the U.S. Senate. After the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy, the U.S. Senate voted against gun reform. Then, the U.S. Senate blocked President Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland to the U.S. Supreme Court. Now, the U.S. Senate voted for a cover up to protect Trump from facing a real impeachment trial with witnesses and evidence. Mitch McConnell is an example of nightmarish bureaucracy. Trump/McConnell are running huge one trillion dollar plus yearly budget deficits, cut corporate taxes to benefit the wealthy, and are planning on cutting Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits that will hurt the welfare of the poor and disabled. The new social safety net will be in personal bankruptcy laws and caseloads.

The Senate was protecting the constitution. Nancy Pelosi keeps saying how she loves our constitution, but the Dems were willing to trash the constitution to GET President Trump. Problem is they didn’t have a case. They could have taken much longer to prepare their case as was done in previous impeachments. 78 days was all they used to prepare which was extremely shorter than previous impeachments and then they wanted the Senate to prove their case for them by calling in more witnesses. They could not accuse the president of treason, bribery, or any other impeachable offense.

Because she’s a woman. The so called criminal justice system always treats women less harshly than men. These female dealers almost never do hard time. They want equal rights but not when it comes to the draft, or state prison for drug dealing. She should be doing 18 years.

The fun part was later on upon exiting the Congressional Visitors Center. We climbed the stairs to the large pedestrian plaza immediately behind the Capitol building, an area also used by vehicles transporting VIP’s. Coming out the Senate side were members of the White House legal team (those we’d seen minutes earlier in the well of the Senate) approaching waiting black SUV’s. We approached (carefully, since the team’s security escort and Capitol Police were all over the place) and actually got to gab with members of the team, offering feedback on The Trial’s progress from our perch watching gavel-to-gavel C-Span coverage. Cool beans!

Two Counsel on the President’s team, but I’d rather not identify either here.
Perspective: ‘Tour de force’ by the Prez’ team!
Failure (by Rep. Adam Schiff or by Speaker Nancy Pelosi) to correct specific errors in the process by which the House of Representatives formally issued subpoenas is plainly fatal to the Second Article of Impeachment: Obstruction of Congress.
Schiff’s claims of being a former prosecutor notwithstanding, he does NOT come across, based upon the presentations I heard the past 11 days, as a great — or even good — lawyer. That assessment also applies to the other House Managers. Would you hire Jerrold Nadler to represent you in any action?

What if I called all of the hate groups who marched in Charlottesville, Virginia “very fine people”? What if I disparaged women, Mexicans, the disabled, African countries, American cities like Baltimore and states like New Hampshire, Muslim immigrants, and “the others”? What if I ran trillion dollar federal budget deficits with huge tax cuts for wealthy corporations? What if I wouldn’t release my federal tax returns because I received my business financing from Russian Oligarchs connected to Putin through German banks? What if it was me who declared business bankruptcies multiple times over the years? What if I worked against international efforts to fight global warming? So the mayor and police chief both know that the overriding reason parents are moving their children out of the PIttsfield schools is because of bullying and a really piss poor learning environment. And yet, with this backdrop, the mayor wants to continue to allow such a situation at Reid. how did we get so lucky to have a mayor who seems so utterly clueless. If she could get her focus off feeding the special interests she might have some time to talk with real people who know what is going on and what to do about it.

By the way, who has the real story on the amount of cops we now have, as opposed to when Tyer landed on the scene. And how many will be leaving by this time next year? Curious how children do not want to be educated in Pittsfield and police folk would really rather be somewhere else as well. What is it about Pittsfield and why does it seem so much worse since Mayor Tyer was put in charge?

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/01/31/peter-schweizer-unveils-layers-corruption-behind-biden-family/

“Despite former Vice President Joe Biden’s image of being a fighter for the working class, he has actually engaged in behavior that benefitted himself and his family members to the tune of millions of dollars in shady business deals, according to an interview with Government Accountability Institute (GAI) president and Breitbart News senior contributor Peter Schweizer, author of the new book Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite.

Schweizer, in an interview on Wednesday with SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow, said that dichotomy is represented by Biden being known for riding Amtrak home every day but also by his habit of holding up the train whenever he was running late.

“Yeah, Joe does ride the train all the time, but if Joe’s running late, Joe calls Amtrak, and they hold the entire train until Joe shows up, which is great for Joe [but] the other commuters are probably going, ‘What the heck’s going on? Why is the train not moving?’” Schweizer said. “So that to me represents the dichotomy between the image we have of Joe, which is Amtrak Joe, and the reality of how he abuses that power.”

Schweizer discussed several examples of Biden’s abuses of power he laid out in his book.

He said after Biden became vice president and the point person on China, his son Hunter Biden began to benefit from deals with the Chinese government. He said:

You have this situation where Joe Biden becomes vice president of the United States. He is the point person on China, he’s somewhat of an old hand on China because he’s on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee all those years, traveled to China. He becomes vice president and then suddenly, sort of out of the blue, his son Hunter gets these deals courtesy of the Chinese government.

As Schweizer detailed in a previous book, Secret Empires, Hunter Biden in 2012 inked a $1.5 billion deal with a subsidiary of the state-owned Bank of China to create a private equity fund called Bohai Harvest RST — only 12 days after he visited China with his father aboard Air Force Two.”

I agree Mad Trapper. Everyone needs to read the new book “Profiles in Corruption” by Peter Schweizer. It explains just how corrupt these American Progressive elite politicians have become which is why we need less government….not more like the Progressives are preaching. Bigger government will just translate into more money for them not us.

Bernie Sanders is also riding the Washington gravy train as is Liz Warren.

The Trump impeachment trial is over for all intents and purposes. All politicians will sink their fingers deep into the cookie jar for themselves and their families and friends which is why small government is SO IMPORTANT not the massive government being pushed by Progressives. Big government will translate into even bigger corruption. The media being in bed with the far left Progressives will be an even bigger problem because there will be nobody to call out the corruption.

It seems that Mass. now has it’s first case of Coronavirus, in Boston. The progressives are ruining our republic one issue at a time. Can’t stand the president, no problem we’ll impeach him. The cop in the school looks at your kid cross eyed, no problem set up a study committee. Last thing we need is to have the judicial system get involved in social justice issues. Homeless guy with a sign pisses you off just looking at him no problem, a city ordinance can be drawn up to prevent that.

I agree. The Progressives have become extremists. Principals in the schools once had a lot of authority and kept the children under control. Why do we need police today, but if we do, why is there this fight against them? You could say that principals were authoritarian figures years ago so is that why they have been made so weak so that discipline must now be handed over to the police? It seems that the far left public schools do not want anybody who even remotely reminds them of an authority figure and this is why schools are out of control. Young people do need discipline and structure in the schools or we end up with chaos. Also how about we get to the reason why we have so many homeless people in this area instead of just removing them from our sight. Would that be exposing issues best kept in the dark? It seems that way.

Letter: “Tax credit could benefit seniors”
The Berkshire Eagle, February 2, 2020

To the editor:

Many letters recently have been concerned with the level of real estate taxes in Berkshire County. If you are a low or moderate income senior (single, less than $60,000 income, married, less than $90,000 income), you may qualify for tax relief from the state when filing your income tax return.

Filing form CB may give you a refundable rebate of up to $1,130 if your real estate taxes and water and sewer bills exceed 10 percent of your income. If you do not prepare your own taxes, make sure your return preparer is aware of this state tax credit.
