PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY JUNE 10, 2020) — You already know about the late George Floyd, the drugged up convicted felon and ex-con arrested by Minnesota police on suspicion of passing counterfeit dough . You don’t know about the equally late David Dorn. After Floyd met an undeserved death at the knee of a cop, Dorn died an even more senseless death at the hands of the mob.

Dorn, a retired police captain in St. Louis, MO, was helping guard a friend’s pawn shop during the Floyd riots. In the subsequent looting, seven young blacks (6 guys, 1 girl) rampaged gleefully through the store. In the process, one of them shot and killed Dorn.

Black Lives Matter, except for Dorn’s. Dorn was black.

Today THE PLANET presents more of the Dorn story, followed by a local event related not just by race but by intent to kill. The Pittsfield story involves Fenn Street, Second Street, and a motel room.

DAVID DORN: ONE BLACK LIFE THAT DIDN’T MATTER

BY MATT VESPA (Twitter @mvespa1)

They Got Him: Man Arrested in Killing of Retired Police Chief David Dorn Whose Murder Was Captured on Facebook Live

Source: AP Photo/Jeff Roberson

The video is horrific. David Dorn, a retired police captain in St. Louis, is lying on the sidewalk, dead or dying, blood everywhere, after he was shot by looters ransacking a local pawn shop. The establishment was owned by a friend. Dorn worked there as well and arrived at the shop when the alarms were triggered. His murder was captured on Facebook Live. The St. Louis Police Department released the surveillance footage from inside the pawnshop showing multiple persons of interest in the murder of Dorn. It led to the arrest of Stephan Cannon, who has been charged with first-degree murder (via St. Louis Post-Dispatch):

St. Louis, MO Police

@SLMPD

RECOGNIZE THESE SUBJECTS?

They’re persons of interest in the murder of Ret. Capt. David Dorn.

Anyone with info should call our Homicide Div directly @ 314-444-5371, or if you want to remain anonymous & are interested in a reward (up to 45k) contact @STLRCS @ 866-371-TIPS(8477)

Charges have been filed against a 24-year-old man who police believe fatally shot retired St. Louis police Capt. David Dorn, 77, on the sidewalk outside Lee’s Pawn and Jewelry early Tuesday morning.

Stephan Cannon, 24, of Glasgow Village, has been charged with first-degree murder. He is being held without bond.

As downtown St. Louis descended into violence and chaos Monday night into Tuesday morning, Dorn, also a retired municipal police chief, attempted to protect the pawn shop from looting. He was shot multiple times, and his killing was broadcast on Facebook Live.

According to a police probable cause statement, Cannon was seen on surveillance footage pulling up and entering the store with others, and then stealing several televisions. Once Dorn arrived at the store, Cannon walked toward the street corner with a gun in his hand.

After Dorn fell to the ground, Cannon approached the entrance to the store, according to the police statement. A witness told police that someone told everyone in the store that they could leave, and looters fled from the back entrance.

A stolen television was later found where Cannon was arrested. He admitted to police that he changed his hair and appearance once he saw his image being distributed to the public.

Dorn retired from the St. Louis Police Department in 2007 after 38 years on the job. He rose from rookie patrol officer in 1969 to captain. He was the deputy commander of the Bureau of Patrol Support, which oversees traffic and mounted patrols, commercial vehicles and the tactical unit.

When he retired, Dorn then became police chief in Moline Acres.

Another layer of tragedy is added to this story since Dorn’s name will largely go unnoticed by the media. He’s a cop. He can’t be honored by the liberal media which has defended or excused the rampant looting and destruction across America’s cities. Why? Well, because Trump is in office and they will defend anyone or any issue that could be used to be weaponized against him. But even leaving that out, defending the rioting, which led to the death of a black former police captain just kills the narrative. It makes them defend the police. It makes them reverse course on the looting. That can’t happen.

Thank you for your service, Captain Dorn, and may you get justice.

THE PLANET now shares this press release from the Pittsfield Police Department.

On Thursday 5/28/2019 members of the Pittsfield Police Department (PPD) patrol division were dispatched code three (lights and sirens) to a residence on Second Street for a report of a person with a handgun.  Responding patrol officers encountered 33-year-old Pittsfield resident Joshua Stimpson on scene and located a loaded 9mm pistol that Stimpson admitted was his.  As a result, officers arrested Stimpson and charged him with:

  1. CARRYING A FIREARM WITHOUT A LICENSE – 269/10/J
  2. POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION WITHOUT FID CARD – 269/10/TT

pastedGraphic.png

Joshua Stimpson

On Friday 5/29/2019 members of the Berkshire County Anti-Crime Unit (ACU) and PPD Detective Bureau / Drug Unit conducted a near-simultaneous traffic stop and search warrant execution involving 31-year-old Pittsfield resident Ryan Aulisio.  Aulisio was wanted for a shooting incident that had occurred in Pittsfield several days prior during which a vehicle had been struck by gunfire, though no injuries were reported.  Aulisio was also suspected of distributing illegal drugs.  Investigators discovered over 1800 bags of heroin and dealer paraphernalia on Aulisio’s person and in the motel room.  As a result of the traffic stop and search warrant execution, Aulisio was charged with:

  1. DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM W/IN 500 FT OF BLDG – 269/12E
  2. POSSESSION OF A FIREARM WITHOUT FID CARD – 269/10G
  3. ATTEMPT TO COMMIT A&B W/ DW(FIREARM) – 265/15A/A
  4. TRAFFICKING IN HEROIN 36-100 GRAMS – 94C/32E/F
  5. POSSESSION TO DISTRIBUTE CLASS A, SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE 94C/32/D
  6. POSSESSION OF CLASS B SUBSTANCE – 94C/C
  7. FIREARM VIOLATION W/ 2 PRIOR VIOLENT/DRUG CRIMES – 269/10G/B

pastedGraphic_1.png

Ryan Aulisio

On Friday 3/27/2020 PPD officers responded to a ShotSpotter Activation in the area of Fenn Street.  They later learned that a victim had gone to Berkshire Medical Center (BMC) for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound.  41 year old Pittsfield resident Teddy Cepeda was later identified as the suspect of the shooting.  On Thursday 6/4/2020 members of the ACU and PPD Drug Unit arrested Cepeda on an outstanding warrant charging him with:

  1. DISCHARGE OF A FIREAMN W/IN 500 FT OF BLDG – 269/12E
  2. ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM – 265/15E
  3. POSSESSION OF A FIREARM WITHOUT FID CARD – 269/10G

pastedGraphic_2.png

Members of the Pittsfield Police Department continue to investigate other shootings and serious crimes that have occurred within our city.  The public’s cooperation is oftentimes instrumental in the investigation and prosecution of these cases.  Anyone who wishes to provide information is asked to contact the PPD Detective Bureau at 413-448-9705.  Information can also be provided anonymously via the Detective Bureau Tip Line at 413-448-9706, or by texting PITTIP and your message to TIP411 (847411).

———- ooo ———-

Don’t the photos tell you everything you need to know? Of course, this trio must be considered “innocent” until proven guilty. That has not been done yet. Under the Berkshire County District Attorney’s definition of crime, Lady Justice might not appear, but you never know.

The grim reality is that while the city’s Zero Economy and ruinous taxes drive Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski out of town … while Pittsfield “leaders” pass a budget closing on $200 million … this is the type of human scum invading and infesting our once great town.

Think about that in light of the calls to “DEFUND THE POLICE.”

Thank you Dan for saying what needed to be said. Black lives don’t really matter to the Black Lives Matter Movement. Black Lives Matter is a political movement now and I am sick and tired off all the pandering, from colleges, to Target, to Greylock, about this lie, and about how you white people have privilege and are racist because of the truth. It’s all a lie and a hoax, just like Furgeson was all based on a lie. Black Lives Matter could care less about black cops like retired captain and chief David Dorn, killed by another convicted piece of shit felon. Hell they don’t even care about all the blacks killed in cities every weekend. Why? Because they are mostly all killed by other blacks. Oh My!

So happy we moved last year. I hear there was another run on a bunch of cars last night that had their windows shot out. Hopefully some were from people protesting to defund the police. At this point in Pittsfield your better off driving around with no windshield, as soon as you replace the window it just gets shot out again.

Through the grapevine I have heard over 20 people, had a couple people I know that live in the city say neighbors windshields were shot or broken. If you go on the 411 of Pittsfield somewhere there said over 2 dozen with some comments confirming. The PD is definitely getting flooded with reports. Hope everyone is ready for a nice bump in insurance rates.

I hope our DA doesn’t buy into the poor upbringing crap with Stimpson. He had everything he needed and more growing up. His parents worked hard and provided well for him. His dad passed on who was one hell of a welder who did underwater welding as well and made big money. His mom worked hard also. Even good families have things that go wrong with children and he is an example of that. His mom tried so hard to get him on the right path many times and tons of money for any kind of help out there for him and finally just could do no more for him because he didn’t want help apparently.Real Sad.

Still trying to comprehend the opulence of Floyds funeral and the canonization of the man himself. Martin Luther King got a paupers funeral in comparison. I feel like I missed something along the way because I am still trying to grasp the enormity of it all.

As far as David Dorn his sad death needs to be thrown in the face of the same people who turned Floyd into a black hero. It is hard for me to look at these two events side by side and take BLM seriously. I hope someone can rationalize it for me because I really am trying to understand.

Just look at who is involved from the politicians, media and SJW’s to the so called Rev’s who put on a show B T Barnum would envy. Not saying Mr.Floyd and his family didn’t deserve a respectful funeral, but it was one that towers Dorn’s and the others who also were killed for no good reason. Unfortunately politics is used as exploitation to gain power and money in all things dead or alive.

Terrorist groups like Antifa, but also the same terrorists from 9/11, want to get rid of our police. That would make it so much easier for them to attack us. Police have stopped so many terrorist attacks and they don’t want that. Weaken and/or get rid of the police and it becomes much easier for all terrorists.

Capt. Dorn’s death was truly a tragedy. As Mark Steyn stated, what about all the black deaths in Chicago that are an everyday occurence? Why isn’t the media reporting on their deaths? Why is crime out of control in Chicago? Why don’t those black deaths seem to matter? The BLM movememt is a sham. Rest in peace Capt. Dorn.

Dan,

The death of Floyd never should have happened, the officer(s) should be tried in a court of law. But, but the media circus, riots, proposed restrictions, and elimination of police departments seems to be parts of a greater agenda of the left.

Chicago just topped it’s record for murders in a single day.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/06/85-shot-24-dead-chicagos-violent-weekend-following-leftist-riots-democrats-continue-call-defund-police/

Let’s eliminate the police so the animals there can just kill each other off; it will save funding the police department and the urban blight will be rendered ashes. Then D-mayors will wonder why the Feds refuse to bail them out for the self inflicted mayhem.

Concerning Officer Dorn the media, BLM, leftist politicians, antifa, have been AWOL. It seems the media now tolerates looting and labels them “protests”.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/06/must-see-media-hiding-look-mass-destruction-chicago-nyc-minneapolis-st-louis-just-one-week-leftist-peaceful-protest-shocking-video/

The people who participated in Dorn’s murder were also black. Their acts were despicable. He was shot in the back by ex-Con Stephan Cannon. As he lay bleeding out on the sidewalk, video shows Cannon, or one of his fellow feral beast looters, reach into Dorn’s pocket and steal his wallet. How low can you get?

Concerning Cannon. He was convicted of armed robbery in 2014. He got the “Andrea Harrington social justice warrior treatment”. The criminal belonged in a penitentiary until 2021

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/06/suspect-stephan-cannon-charged-shooting-death-retired-police-captain-david-dorn-got-7-year-prison-sentence-didnt-serve-day/

“Stephan Cannon, 24, was sentenced to seven years for felony robbery but he got a break. Cannon got probation under what’s called a suspended execution of sentence (SES). Court records show Cannon then violated probation—twice—and got two more breaks. He never went to prison.”

So do Black lives matter? Seems not true for black on black crime.

Maybe their anthem should be Black Lives Splatter

Article in local paper today about opioid deaths in Mass for the first 3 months of the year. Article seems to imply good news that only 467 confirmed deaths in the state, down 5 percent. It does mention that they did go UP IN PITTSFIELD but it seems the deep dive research could not break down how many of them were actually in Pittsfield.
Or did somebody tell them to leave that seemed important data point out of the story to protect the city’s image so that the tourist would not stay away??? Really, why did they leave that out?

Opioid fatalities down in state, but Pittsfield sees increase

By Katie Lannan, State House News Service

BOSTON — A total of 467 people died of confirmed or estimated opioid overdose deaths in the first three months of 2020, according to new state data, representing a 5.7 percent decline from the same period in 2019.

Pittsfield, however, was among a group of cities that experienced notable increases in overdose deaths.

Public Health Commissioner Dr. Monica Bharel presented the figures at a Wednesday morning Public Health Council meeting. Bharel highlighted Gardner, Melrose, Lowell, Taunton and Worcester as communities that had experienced a notable decrease in opioid overdose deaths from 2018 to 2019.

Somerville, Beverly, Attleboro, Revere, Brockton, New Bedford and Pittsfield, saw increases in overdose deaths.

Bharel acknowledged “ongoing inequities” reflected in the overdose data. The death rate for Black and Hispanic men rose between 2018 and 2019, while the rate decreased for white and Asian/Pacific Islander men. Men account for 74 percent of opioid overdose deaths in Massachusetts.

“We see these inequities in our work, and know trends like this are part of the reason that many are protesting now,” she said. “We continue to meet with advocates and minority provider representatives to address these disparities in the minority population served by our substance use disorder treatment systems.”

What happened to Dorn was horrible, but the big point of distinction is that Floyd was killed by police officers sworn to protect and serve and paid for by the taxpayer, while Dorn was killed by a criminal scumbag. Both acts were egregious, but it is the fact that one has to worry about being killed by the people hired to protect and serve is what brings people to the street.

Not exactly. One that complies with the police does not have to worry. All you have to do is comply with the police. Do not resist arrest. Obey commands.

Of course people should comply, and in many cases none of these things would happen if people did, no argument there. But the point is irrelevant, because police are not allowed to kill people for non compliance unless their own lives are in danger. To use the “people should comply” argument is the same as saying the girl who got raped shouldn’t have worn a skirt that short or acted that way. In the end both statements shift the blame onto the victim and the onus off off the perpetrator and both are wrong.

“The big point of distinction is that Floyd was killed by a police officer doing his job” that was my point exactly. It’s bad enough to be murdered by some gang banger, but when you have to start worrying about being murdered by police, that’s why people took to the streets. As for the circus funeral conducted by Al Sharpton I have little to say about that, other than he has never missed an opportunity to promote himself. And Floyd certainly wasn’t Mother Theresa which you might think based upon the funeral. But none of that changes what happened and the very real problems that exist.

The bottom line is Floyd was a piece of shit and so was Dorns killer, whereas Dorn was a successful man, who spent his life serving others. Where is Black Lives Matters it really matters?

That may or may not be true, but that isn’t the bottom line at all. We don’t excuse police killing people because they are a lowlife. You really don’t get it. That’s not how things work in America. Russia maybe, but not here.

No body is excusing it. But for Black Lives Matter to only get in an uproar when the police cross the line, yet remain silent when blacks kill each other at an astronomical rate, proves that black lives don’t really matter to them. And that’s the bottom line.

Tax cheat Sharpton should have been in prison many years ago for tax evasion, not to mention the Twana Brwawly hoax.

The media calls the recent social issues, ” a racial inflection” and “an American reckoning with racism”. Not withstanding the peaceful protests, the rioting, the looting, the vandalism, the name calling and other forms of demands and symbolism, an unintended consequence lurking beneath the ostensible social victories is what was called Whitelash. Two oft used partial quotes come to mind:” I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant” and “the silent majority”. Radical social change cannot be force fed and must be majority accepted in a gradual manner. Several traditional Democrats and independent voters have now advised that they feel obligated to vote for Trump rather than face the dismantling of American society and the enacting of one sided concessions. It could come down to percentage of population and voter turn out.

This is all fake news. How can they illegally have firearms when there are Strict gun control measures set in place to stop it?

In other news, the school departments are threatening to cut 140 teachers. A few key factors:

10-12 cuts will be administrators… clearly if we can part with that many, we had too many to begin with. That’s why Kristen Beneke’s husband is on fb encouraging people to write to your representatives… gotta Dave the wife’s personal work force.

I can’t name a single other district facing such dire cuts. Some are making cuts, yes, but nothing of that sort. Could it be bad financial decisions and over bloated salaries/benefits are bankrupting them?

I read somewhere, looking for source again, that a majority of teachers weren’t only first or second year, but were on waivers due to not having licenses. That’s disgusting. I get not having professional status being a new teacher, but hey have to be failing those tests to some degree.

Open schools FULLY in Sept – kids are the least vulnerable to corona. If teachers feel uncomfortable returning to the classroom, then replace them. PPSD needs to close 1-2 schools and cut staff anyway due to state cutting aid and the city’s overbloated school budget. Who’s tracking all the chrome books distributed to students? Were the chrome books given to students w/o internet? It’s time to look at the school budget with a microscope.

Ahh, The teachers union is one huge problem! The really bad old teachers get hide behind the wall of tenure, lot’s just collecting a paycheck and doing the minimum While the really good ones suffer the axe. Sad!

As a former teacher, who’s daughter is currently teaching, I couldn’t agree more. Once they reach that coveted 3rd year they can basically get away with anything and the union will back them up 100%. While I am aware of the positives of union representation, over the last few decades it has become too powerful and political. No matter how many years you have, your job AND raises AND mandated pay steps (which apparently aren’t raises despite raising your salary) should be at least somewhat based on merit, qualifications and performance.

We do in fact lose a lot of younger teachers because of this. A lot of GOOD, PROMISING young teachers at that. While not all old teachers are lazy and bank on their professional status, many, many do.

Pittsfield has an aging teaching population with the salaries and benefits to go along with them. As I said, I am a former teacher and when I hear people whine about being under paid (especially here in the berkshires with a lower cost of living) I want to puke. You can’t whine about your salary and benefits when you work 9 months out of the year and live, drive etc. in luxury. I will admit many teachers (like a lot of people) live well beyond their means, go into debt then spend their lives catching up. THAT is why they need more money. Many of my co-workers were living contently and well on a single teachers salary while their spouse watched their children. It must have been their white privilege…

People in a Seattle neighborhood “autonomous zone” can’t go into their own homes without presenting an “ID” due to an out of control situation there. People are begging for help to protect them from those who have taken over their neighborhood.

The only time these people aren’t going to be required to present an ID is when this new neighbor association sets up the polling places for the upcoming elections. Or maybe the neighbor association will vote for them.

Do any of us have lives beyond sitting around complaining on a keyboard? Myself included? I was thinking about selling our house and moving as I walked across the patio, when it hit me. “I’m happy here. Screw all the other crap!”

It’s freaking summer! Enjoy the few weeks of it. Turn off the news. The arrows are gone from store aisles. We can start eating out again. We’re not going to be up to our elbows in summer tourists. Go out and sit with your family. Barbecue. Suck down a beer or a cocktail in the backyard. Watch the clouds or a sunset. Grab a pole and go fishing. Take a break from all the media hype about virtually everything. Enjoy your grandkids. Spoil them rotten. Put smiles back on your faces.

We can come back to bitching and moaning as to how all of us armchair politicians will fix this crap when it gets cold outside again. (Which could be any day in the Berkshires.)

Just once, listen to an old Polack. Put some fun back in your life.

I do lots of fun stuff everyday. That doesn’t mean that I can’t stay engaged with what is happening in the world. We can do both….enjoying life and staying informed on what is happening in the world, some good and some bad.

Babylon Bee

NEW YORK, NY—In response to a growing anti-police sentiment, McGruff the Crime Dog has been taken to the vet and put down.

“We just didn’t feel safe with him around,” said activist Ray Clarke, one of the people who demanded McGruff be euthanized. “He was always urging people to ‘Take a bite out of crime,’ and we don’t need more violence like that from law enforcement. He has to die.”
McGruff had long educated people on measures they can take against crime but had recently been criticized for not caring about the racial disparity of his bites out of crime and for his association with the police. That’s why euthanizing McGruff became a part of “defunding the police,” even though technically it was a measure that cost more money (the vet charged $150).
Defenders of McGruff argued that McGruff could just be retired and live on a farm working as a P.I. instead of being put down — or that at least they didn’t need to tell McGruff he was a “bad, bad dog” before the injection, but activists wouldn’t relent, and the euthanization happened as planned. A small memorial was erected for McGruff, and it has already been vandalized.

This 9 minute video is titled “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man”. In it, he gives his view on Black on black crime, use of the “N” word, white privilege, protesters and rioters and more. There’s plenty that could be debated, but it’s articulate and enlightening and helps a white person look at it from a different perspective.

Black Lives Matter “protesters” critically injured one of their own on Wednesday as they toppled a Confederate statue in Portsmouth, Virginia.
The man, who police say is in his 30s, was standing at the base of the statue when it fell and struck him in the head—and it all happened on live TV.
“It came and fully hit him in the head, and we could see that his skull was actually showing,” the president of the BLM 757 told NBC affiliate WAVY. “He was convulsing on the ground.”
“He lost a great amount of blood,” the witness said. “And we ask that everybody pray for that man right now.”

What is up with Connell? He is the only one with internet problems. He is in ward 4, the most connected ward in the city. Or, is it true that he is living in Hudson NY with his girlfriend and that is the reason he is garbled in every meeting?

Chris, come back to Pittsfield for the meetings.
