EAT, DRINK, & BE MERRY, FOR TOMORROW … PITTSFIELD RESTAURANTS REOPEN

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION DEC. 4-6, 2020) — Tuesday’s dramatic intervention at city hall by a coalition of Pittsfield restaurant owners did the trick. On Wednesday, the city’s Board of Health reversed itself to allow indoor dining to resume. City eateries have been shut down since Nov. 12.

The restaurateurs, led by spokesman Craig Benoit of the Hot Dog Ranch, delivered their concerns literally to the steps of city hall. That led to an online meeting involving the restaurants and the city. The meeting thrashed out the heavy brush, allowing the parties to reach an agreement. Seating inside will be limited to no more than six per table. Statewide the limit is 10.

The intervention-cum-appeal wasn’t on the scale of the local gentry confronting King John at Runeymede or Martin Luther nailing his 95 theses on the door of Wittenburg Cathedral. Nonetheless, the hard-hit businesses, all of whom have been hurt by the unilateral shutdown, triumphed. Once you apply the winnowing fan, the issue boiled down to an irrefutable point made by the embattled business owners. The ban wasn’t a state decree. It only affected Pittsfield. Restaurants in surrounding communities in Berkshire County and New York State have been open, and those who are inclined to risk their lives for the pleasure of dining out simply took their business out of town.

It would be interesting to figure out how much the ban cost the city from lost taxes.

The mayor walked the participants through the COVID data via a chart then handed it off to Gina Armstrong, director of public health, who took the long and winding road in saying little to nothing except to kumbaya to the camera, telling participants “We’re all working together.” She then referred to a “four-page document” she said went out to city restaurants “a couple weeks ago.”

“I did not get that e-mail,” Benoit responded. Apparently, neither did others. THE PLANET spoke to or heard from five restaurants after the mayor’s Zoom meeting. None of them knew what Armstrong was talking about.

THE PLANET killed 75 minutes of precious time we can never get back watching the meeting. As shaky as Armstrong appeared, she had nothing on community development director Deanna Ruffer, whose solution to the anxious business owners was to go on the city’s website for COVID-19 data.

Brilliant.

As if they hadn’t done that.

The more THE PLANET watched Ruffer treading water, the more we think she’s actually not Deanna Ruffer at all but John Evans, former keyboardist for Jethro Tull. One restaurant owner said of the meeting, “Deanna basically scolded everyone on the Zoom call that they should be reading the cities website daily.” For that Ruffer pulls down six figures plus bennies.

DEANNA RUFFER, director of community development.

JOHN EVAN, Jethro Tull band.

Nonetheless, THE PLANET commends Mayor Tyer for the leadership she showed in responding to the requests of the frazzled, frustrated restaurateurs. She met as promised then delivered the goods.

The most interesting participants in the Zoom meeting were Tony and Melissa Mazzeo, owners of Mazzeo’s Restaurant. Melissa, Tyer’s rival in the most recent mayoral election who is being sued by the mayor’s husband, said “the biggest disconnect” is that no one on the Health Board “knows the nuances of running a restaurant.” Excellent point. Tony said that in distributing PPE money to help restaurants deal with the financial hit, his restaurant has been disqualified twice, a priori. Ruffer disagreed: “No one has been disqualified.”

No? Keep your glazzies peeled, folks, to see if Mazzeo’s get $5,000 in relief the way that certain other joints are certain to get it. That restaurant has gone beyond the pale to keep diners safe. It should get some “free” loot.

Here is a sampling of some comments THE PLANET received from restaurant owners after the Zoom meeting:

After the sawdust and peanut shells had been swept from the floor, strains of Jethro Tull’s “Locomotive Breath” could be heard coming from the dumbwaiter shaft.

Have a great weekend, everybody.

Just got back from a catered party, a large party of about 45 people, in Pittsfield at a business location. Some of the serving staff was wearing masks some weren’t. A number of people at the party didn’t wear masks and there were groups of 10 and more congregating. Some of these very same people are teachers that work in a school that’s closed, a former local politician and his new girlfriend, even a few of the pretty people from North Street, you know who they are. I was there as a plus one we stayed for about 10 minutes and left. We had no idea a “small gathering” meant dozens of people.
So when there’s another spike and they blame the restaurants again, just know it was some of the same people that blame the restaurants and insist they and the schools and city hall be closed that caused the problems.

Oh and the catering company, same one that had wedding problems over the summer. Not surprising.

Sounds like you should stay locked in your home with your respirator mask pulled tight. It’s SCARY out there when you don’t bother to look at the data.

*127 Covid deaths NATIONALLY under age 18, out of 26,333 all-cause deaths.
*1,187 deaths under age 30
*More Covid deaths over age 85 than under age 70.

So far MA hospitals have received almost $1.2 billion in federal Covid Relief Funds to treat 14,397 patients. That’s an average of over $80k per patient.

The actual cost of Covid PCR tests is about $15, including lab work. Testing providers (including Docs) charge anywhere from $100 to over $1,000 for “comprehensive” packages.

Keep the people in fear and all manner of unethical behaviors become possible. And insanely profitable.

I believe that all of our elected officials from Pittsfield politics to the career politicians under Boston’s Golden Dome, to Capitol Hill’s Country Club for Senior Citizens should take a 50 percent cut in pay and all other public perks during the Covid19 pandemic and 2020 economic recession. I believe that all of the politicians should lead by example while the working class people struggle to stay afloat.

If a Dentist can get Covid all businesses should get money also. I heard someone say Mel used to work for him,is that true? On the restaurant reopening, on tv 13 they showed a patrons at the bar and at tables-no mask, was I seeing things?

Is the edict you don’t have to wear masks at the tables either? I guess that we be hard to do when eating. That’s what the intention was,no dining period inside. What doesn’t Gina, The Mayor, Ms. (who is lovely by the way) note…..We are in a pandemic! Wake up! Mel says the Mayors team doesn’t know the nuances of running a restaurant. Apply that to the drinking water plant. They don’t know what needs to run the plant. Like the expert waiting in the wings.

We need to reimagine our politicians. They should all be earning much less money, have fewer perks, and learn to live simply. Until they live the way they expect us to live, they are all a bunch of phonies.

Given your devotion to the Trump clan this must have been very hard for you to say. You know that the mostly wealthy white people behind the Marxist/Socialist movement will NEVER live simply. They want all the money and power for a lavish lifestyle. Ruffer’s right no one has been disqualified by the city. However the application comes with some requirements that immediately disqualify many. It requires lots of work, including hiring an accountant (imagine that) and many won’t make it and even if they do, for what?
They put less effort and requirements into handing out $10k to DJ Confused who has one, or maybe unlimited employees, and didn’t pull in over $50k in a great year from a DJ business.

In order to qualify your gross receipts have to be under $1.5 million. You have to have lost over 50% of your income from the prior month.
Ok so that $1.5 closes out a bunch of restaurants. Then proof you lost half your income from the prior month? How about half your income compared to the same month last year?
Receipts are down, people are barely, and not even, scraping by now. Comparing losing money in the last months is ridiculous.
It’s like comparing nothing to nothing. Then the mayor suggests applying anyway and ask for a waiver? Please. Give restaurants easy access to funds like you gave DJ I’m Confused.

There are several certificate programs out there in cyber space, and since you are supposed to hide in your basement another few months, perhaps you will want to earn your certificate.

Squeaky McWrongway’s charade of a press conference blew right by everyone once again. This was no achievement. Almost two years into her term the county finally gets forced into putting together the state’s last domestic violence coalition. She took credit for it as part of her “campaign promise.” She got one thing right when she said “Elections do matter.” How she got elected is a monumental embarrassment. By the way, maybe someone can refresh my memory. Didn’t we have a domestic violence program run by the DA’s office that didn’t require an asskick from state government?

So now the story becomes;
1) how does a dining establishment “qualify” for the $5 grand?
2) when does the program end?
3) will taxpayers see the full accounting of which restaurants received the $5 grand?

As with the cash handout program for homeowners, will taxpayers see a full accounting of who got what?

Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

I trust Ruffer as far as I can throw her.

Gotta be under 1.5 mil in revenue prior year
Have to have lost 50% or more income based on prior months sales.
(Anyone with a brain would have said prior years sales and made it a lower %)
The program ends when the money runs out.
DJ DGAF got $10k to employ one person (or maybe more based on how “they” think that day) with an application that looks like their daughter wrote it.

The hot dog ranch guy hired a an accountant $700, found out he didn’t qualify because he is “only” down 44%.
I mean seriously what idiots come up with this stuff?
The gave away $3 million to the Beacon without even blinking. No accountability at all the guy pocketed $1.2 after all the fraud of the seats and such.

Mayor wanted to see if Mazzeo’s would apply, in hopes of getting an accounting of receipts from the restaurant.

Tyer and Clairmont are not to be trusted.

Can someone explain what exactly 1Berkshire does? Seriously. Raising money by soaking “members” for cash and getting grants from other taxpayers isn’t really a diverse revenue stream.

Buzzword Butler really hit the high notes,
Diversity, inclusivity, bandwidth, revenue streams, footprint. This idiot doesn’t get he’s a parody of himself, then again he’s getting paid six figures, has a huge expense account, and has to do about three days of work a year, so who’s really the dumb one?

“ PITTSFIELD — Although it was forced to cancel several of its signature events this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, 1Berkshire generated $1.4 million in revenue during fiscal 2020, President and CEO Jonathan Butler said Thursday, during the organization’s annual meeting.

Because of the pandemic, annual revenue at the county’s state-designated economic development agency is about $400,000 to $500,000 less than it was during the past couple of years, Butler said. But, he said 1Berkshire has worked hard to diversify its revenue streams since the agency officially was formed four years ago, so that it is not solely reliant on contributions from members.

“In 2020, it really helped us,” he said.

Butler said that, in fiscal 2021, which began July 1, 1Berkshire is operating in “about the same footprint,” which is giving us “some flexibility and allowing us to do the work that we need to do.”

Pretty good presentation of the constitutional issues, from an old acquaintance of mine, at the GA state senate hearing yesterday:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSY_w8k3swg

Two reasons for the state legislatures to use their constitutional power (II.1.2) to appoint electors.

  • Fraud, illegal votes, FUBAR election
  • Election officials et al. broke their own state laws, not done in the “manner” in which the state legislature prescribes by law

Either one is sufficient.

But the state legislatures in five states need to grow a pair . . .

Can we stop perpetrating the lockdowns/mask wearing charades, of this so called Shamdemic. If you do even a little research, you find the masks are useless and the covid testing is incredibly flawed. The globalists and enemies of the state truly are working overtime to accomplish their goal of “resetting” our country and world.Stop with the “mass conspiracies” talk, it doesn’t fly in the minds of those who deal with factsI. I share this short(one of many) example of this fraud:

I work in the healthcare field. Here’s the problem, we are testing people for any strain of a Coronavirus. Not specifically for COVID-19. There are no reliable tests for a specific COVID-19 virus. There are no reliable agencies or media outlets for reporting numbers of actual COVID-19 virus cases. This needs to be addressed first and foremost. Every action and reaction to COVID-19 is based on totally flawed data and we simply can not make accurate assessments.

Take some time to do some real research to acquire the facts located below the false veneer established by the government and nefarious forces of the left. Yes there is covid 29 out there but no where near what is being reported. I have read a multitude of “covid cases/resting” research that turned out to be fraudulent. Several reputable scientists purport the many flaws that exist in the testing. Even the testing cannot specifically separate a diagnosis of covid 19. frima common cold, flu or other type of common maladies etc many of those so called covid deaths are a result of an already existing condition in the patient.
There is a national/global reset plan that is partially dependent upon this sham being accepted whether you deny it or not. You may want to consider removing your head from the bowels of CNN and the other mainstream media. Truth is out there if you seek it , despite the fraud that you have to wallow through to reach the truth

Well, the: left, MSM, FBI, DOJ, Willy Barr, et al………..have been provided with overwhelming evidence of the sordid nationwide voter fraud.

But they all seem giddy having a banana republic rigged election.

People should watch the hearing that they had in Georgia Senate yesterday.

Moonbat D-senator Elena Parent, when shown new video evidence, says, ” that has been debunked” (a favorite mantra of the left when confronted with evidence). Even though this was the first time the video was made public!

Video footage from Georgia shows suitcases filled with ballots pulled from under a table AFTER supervisors told poll workers to leave room and 4 people stayed behind to keep counting votes.

Two of the felons have been identified: Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss (Ruby’s daughter). The latter is a Georgia election supervisor.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-7E-71Av0k

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/12/breaking-crooked-elections-superviser-filmed-pulling-suitcases-ballots-georgia-identified-rubys-daughter-video/

“Earlier on Thursday Cristina Laila reported on the explosive video that was revealed during the Georgia ballot counting at the State Farm Arena where crooked Democrats pulled out suitcases full of ballots and began counting those ballots without election monitors in the room.
Trump’s legal team showed a video from the State Farm Arena tabulation center when poll workers were told to leave at 10:25 PM.

A few “workers” stayed behind and were seen pulling suitcases full of ballots out from under tables to be tabulated!”

See no voter fraud, hear no voter fraud, speak no voter fraud……….

Hey Dan, your sampling of post meeting comments by the restaurateurs seem to have disappeared or been swallowed up by your ad slot. Can you restore?

Hendrix

I don’t think anyone going to restaurants is risking their lives. The problem restaurant owners have is that the goal post has moved every time they have taken action to comply. Remember WAY back when in the spring they asked everyone to voluntarily shutdown for a couple of weeks so that we would not overwhelm the healthcare system? We complied and 2 weeks turned into 2-3 months. Finally they were able to open in substantially reduced capacity in July. Then government decided to tell restaurants what is considered dinner and what is not. Finally, restaurants get into a rhythm and feel like they have a good grip on expectations and actually start maybe breaking even to catch up on lost revenue and overdue bills and the city of all places decides to pull the rug out.

Small business owners had to go to the front steps of city hall just to get a meeting and then all of a sudden the next day we have indoor dining? The leadership in this city has become an absolute joke.

For me it goes back to why did Tyer shutter the restaurants in the first place ? Who are her closest confidants ? Barry and Dr. Sucksausage. The good dentist received PPE money and is open and Barry is suing the Mazzeo’s. The hatred is palpable. It’s like hiding in the open, so obvious is escapes detection. Out of 351 towns and cities Pittsfield was the ONLY municipality that came to the conclusion that “it must be the restaurants”. Hahahahhahahahahah. It’s quite disgusting.

How come the state didn’t move the infected residents and staff from the nursing home and put them in an isolated building such as one of the nursing homes that closed. Why didn’t they react to the outbreak at Hillcrest Commons and all the other Nursing Homes/Hospitals with a methodical plan that would have saved lives

Many elderly are suffering terribly in BMC. This is a terrible tragedy that could have been avoided. Nursing homes do have to be forever changed due to this suffering and become much smaller. Fewer patients in more homelike settings would be ideal.

jon doe

That would be ideal, but the reality of the finances make it impossible. Most nursing homes are losing money or barely breaking even, due to low reimbursement rates by the state of Massachusetts. As you reduce the size of facilities, you lose the benefit of the economy of scale, and it becomes untenable. It’s worse in many Red states that have even lower medicaid reimbursements.

Then people could be paid to keep relatives in their home. The same outrageous amount of money that government social security pays monthly for each patient to be housed in a nursing home could be put toward people caring for their own relatives at a quarter of the cost currently paid to nursing homes.

Pat, You’ve clearly never been a care giver to a seriously compromised individual. Were that it was that simple. I hope you never have to experience it yourself.

The state pays an average of $250 a day to a facility, which is hardly outrageous given a person is housed, fed, provided medical care, and is attended to by multiple people throughout the day, all varying on the level of care needed. In most cases, the reimbursement doesn’t cover the cost of providing the services. It’s easy to spout off about these topics, but the realities are much more complex.

Pat

I may agree with you somewhat. My mom has had many serious health issues over the years and I felt bad about her being in a nursing home, but the reality may be that I just couldn’t care for her very well at home. I still think though that Hillcrest especially has too many patients and too few staff and in this COVID crisis it can spread quickly among so many patients.

I’ve been asking myself for a while, why Kamala Harris? I’ve heard no one ask or answer that anywhere. No support at all in the primary, couldn’t raise money, dropped out before the first vote.

Biden didn’t need help in CA.

No one ever asked why Biden as Obummer’s VP either.

My first thought was she’s owned by Silicon Valley and she brings all that money with her. They insisted on it and got it. But then why didn’t they finance her in the primaries?

But then Limbaugh yesterday was adamant that she is Obamalinsky’s surrogate, not Biden. So Obummer got her in there, but it’s not like he’s a stranger to Big Tech–how many times did Google go to his White House?

But, I’m getting ahead of myself.

It’s fraud from over.

The reason this ISN’T out of bounds is because of the allegations that preceded this.
Krol allegedly used his position as a city councilor to help this lady when she and her husband ran and owned the restaurant next to the Beacon.
One of the reasons Krol left politics was because he was using his political clout and access to the public to help get her favorable permitting, interceded on her behalf in a dozen or so issues.
It was long rumored that there was something else going on.

Allegedly he used his position to get a cut rate deal on a liquor license, help them avoid necessary inspections, and got negative health inspections changed.
People forget, he was in tight with Tyer and that whole group, then “something happened” and he moved away.
It had long been rumored there was some malfeasance and he was given an option, either resign/don’t run again or they would go after for whatever the issues were.
Speculation ran from an abuse of office position/misuse of funds/that he was having an affair and using his position to help the person he was sleeping with.
All I know is the guy didn’t run and exiled to Boston.
Then on facebook he posts he’s back in the Berkshires and in a relationship with the person he was allegedly helping, unduly and unfairly helping. They got a $100k license for $30k. The restaurant across the street at the time paid full price.
They were able to walk into that space, after it being abandoned with little permitting. Inspections got changed.
I don’t know if any of that is true. I do know they paid $30k for the liquor license.
I also know that he posted on Facebook he is in a relationship with the exact person many of these allegations focused on. I do know from friends of Allison that the divorce was included allegations of him cheating.
John is a public figure, just as Barry is.
People say horrible things about Barry but John is protected? John continues to try and wield political influence along with Darcie Sosa and that bunch. John has his podcast and is active on Twitter and Facebook.
He posted on Facebook his relationship status with this woman. So treating him differently seems very unfair.
Giving him a pass when you let people trash the Volastros, who aren’t public figures. Very unfair.

I’m glad the restaurants are back open, I was getting tired of having to go to large private parties to get decent food.
The Mrs says she’s a good cook but she doesn’t really cook, so I have to. That’s ok I like wearing heels and an apron so I’m fine in the kitchen.
Just in case anyone is wondering as long as the gathering that may server food and drinks and may be catered and maybe a fundraiser includes political speech, it’s ok. You can’t get Covid while talking politics and wheeling and dealing to give taxpayer money away to friends.
It’s also ok to have a large dinner party at a private home if that includes discussions about how you are going to divvy up Tyler street grant money and are also helping Andrea plan for the next election. Expect a bunch of press releases from her office, sort of like a flurry of gobbledygook. I will say Andrea and Andy make a cute couple, although they have a mother son look about them. Andy is soooo cute in his I’ll fitting blazer. Like a teenage boy who’s not yet a man. Soooo yummy.

Wednesday February 15, 2012

PITTSFIELD — Citing the consuming schedule required of the business, the owners of Brulées are closing their North Street restaurant for good Thursday night to focus on catering and their two young children.

Cara Peckham, co-proprietor with her husband Ken, the executive chef, said that the pair’s decision was entirely personal.

“We have a young family and want to spend more time with family,” she said, noting that her children are 3 years old and 9 months old.

The Peckhams moved into the capacious storefront neighboring the Beacon Cinema in July 2010 after Bobby Hudpucker’s vacated the space. Initially in the market for a home for their catering business, the couple saw 41 North St. as suitable for an expansion into dining.

A year and half later, they’ve decided to quit the newer venture.

“We just decided we really wanted to focus on the catering end of it,” Peckham said. “The restaurant is not something we want to do anymore.”

Although she said there were no financial problems animating the decision to shut down the bistro, Peckham noted that construction on North Street had been an issue for business.

The Peckhams informed the 15 part-time employees of the imminent closure at the end of last week.

“We have a phenomenal staff,” Peckham said. “That was the hardest part of all of this. They were surprised and everybody was really sad.”

Megan Whilden, director of Cultural Pittsfield, said in an email that the closure did not speak poorly of downtown development.

“I was sorry to hear about Brulées closing, but I absolutely don’t think it is a reflection on downtown Pittsfield’s ongoing renaissance,” she said. “I think they created a terrific restaurant, but that is a difficult location to maintain because it is so big.”

They were given the abatement for developing “Market Rate” housing, not affordable housing. Market Rate is just that-what the market will bear. Personally, I think $1,580 for a two bedroom apartment on Tyler Street is nuts, but if they can get it, more power to them. Abatements are generally good, as they encourage development that might not have happened anyway, and since the amount being abated is on the increased value as a result of the construction, the city doesn’t experience a decline in taxes as a result, but rather a delay in getting the increase in taxes.

Someone was on here the other day basically complaining how Milltown was in it to make money. Let’s hope they do, as they plan to continue to reinvest in Pittsfield. This city is not a pot of gold and if the investment opportunities were so attractive, we would be overrun will firms trying to take advantage of them, but Milltown is about it. So we should be grateful and do everything we can to support them.

Mother Nature creates a virus that demonstrably spreads in seasonal waves, yet when it does we look to point the finger at other humans as the cause–in many cases, humans who are just trying to survive financially, keep their businesses afloat so they can feed their families, etc. Worst of all is what we have done to children, with absolutely no rational basis.

In world with MORAL leadership, the relative risks posed by Covid would be common knowledge among ALL of us and we would be equipped to make OUR OWN decisions as to how much risk we should tolerate. But COVID leadership here in the U.S. has been anything but moral, and so many of us are left floundering in the dark, deathly afraid of a virus that for many of us poses no significant risk. While the consequences of our Covid monomania are ignored or waved away as of secondary importance.

The NIH estimates that for every month schools are closed, about 90,000 case of child abuse go unreported. Schools being the first line of defense and discovery of such incidents. Poor kids especially are the victims of this abuse, which is compounded by the academic and developmental hole they are being put in, which will likely impact the rest of their lives, including their expected lifetime earnings and life expectancies.

Anyway, the below chart details Covid mortality by age, alongside all-cause death data. My guess is that most people will find these numbers shocking, since they are almost never mentioned as part of the public discourse. If anyone who reviews this data still believes a one-size-fits-all approach to Covid that does not discriminate between risk profiles is best, I’d be very curious to hear they’re argument.

Anyone seeing this going on should take and post pictures. That is what cell phones and social media are for during a pandemic. Masks, social distancing and cell phones outing.

And wasn’t the owner of Roasted Garlic among those restaurant owners meeting outside of City Hall asking for help?

They are also the ones who got their license suspended for having a wedding during covid and having too many people and not wearing masks.
They are also the ones who helped fuel the most recent Covid explosion.
They had employees working and didn’t close while waiting for tests to come back.
They were really rude here and couldn’t post tests proving they were not lying.
Someone mentioned on here that at least 16 cases of Covid tied back to their restaurants.
So they just don’t care.

Obviously PR is different than RAO – things that become clear after the fact. In my mind, I’m just trying to get the Truth & it doesnt matter who it comes from.

Those who continue to hold out hope Pittsfield will become “vibrant, dynamic, inclusive, reclusive, intrusive,” and what other buzz-words do-nothing pol’s create to try and hide their failures, think about who’s in charge:

Tyer-hides behind zoom meetings, so she doesn’t have to face reality, that she’s doing an even worse job than Sara Hathaway. And who ever thought that could be possible?

Harrington-everytime the women opens her mouth, it’s either a lie, to blame somebody else for her wrong doings, and can’t even pay her bills. This is our chief law enforcement leader in the county. Any updates on the recent murders in Pittsfield, or do you have more pressing things like bring cereal to the homeless-but only if the media is there.

Country-Buffet-the only time you ever saw this woman do anything in a hurry, is when she almost busted her a** slipping down the hill, trying to get one last meal, before the Country Buffet was shuttered. She wasn’t going to let them cancel her VIP free meal ticket, before she ate one last time. In office, she’s voted herself pay raises, never voted down a tax-hike to the citizens, wanted to give free driver’s license to illegal immigrants, so you can see she’s working hard for the tax-payer.

Hinds-why did he “leave” the United Nations to return to the Berkshires? And since he’s been in government, other than carry a jug of milk for the homeless, what has he done?

Moon-is such a pathetic person, that she makes up a bullish*t story about being “arrested at gunpoint and thrown in jail,” for a petty traffic offense. Why? She’s an oppressed minority who got targeted by the big bad, white men, of the Boston Police. She is a city councilor. A proven liar. A proven race baiter.

Yuki-knew she could ignore the laws and get away with it. And guess what? She did. Allowing large unmasked parties to enjoy a few drinks, before work, after work, she didn’t care. Her place helped spread the virus…..among other things spread.

So, when you drive around the vibrant, dynamic, city, just remember the names above, plus others like former Mayor Jim Rob-U-Tooberto, are the reason things are so jolly in Pittsfield.

Very little help for the elderly COVID patients at Berkshire Medical Center. They have no blood plasma, no antibody treatment, no Regeneron, no Hydroxychloroquine. They are mostly relying on Remdesimir and steroids to help the very sick elderly with COVID-19. Steroids used on the elderly can cause so many problems with the dementia that many of them have and cause them to have a lot of extra suffering in addition to the COVID.

High dose I.V. vitamin C was used in NYC hospitals with success. Of course big pharm has nothing to gain with this treatment.

Something different needs to be tried because what they are doing now is not working. Steroids may work in younger patients, but the very frail elderly and even anyone over 55 are not helped at all and if they do survive, the steroids may make any dementia extremely worse in the over 75 group. First do no further harm to the individual. The COVID is bad enough, but too aggressive treatments with the wrong medicines can be devastating for the patient while they need all of their strength to fight this virus.

If only Donald had asked people to wear masks? Why did he have to be such a dick about it? Really. Why?

Please. People are losing family members and friends and they are blaming the virus and China NOT President Trump. This virus is a monster whether lab created or occurring naturally and it is especially devastating for the elderly and frail.

Soldatos just want to have restaurants closed so they can reduce the competition.
Staff not wearing masks in the back some wearing them as chinstraps or below the nose.
Isn’t one of the rules no beer without food? They are bar serving beer. Are they trying to ruin everyone’s jobs?
Close them down before we all have to close down.

The directors of nursing and the administrators at Fairview and Hillcrest Commons need to be in prison! They’ve killed dozens of people by their negligence. They moved staff between the facilities and spread Covid.
Their irresponsible staff management has killed dozens. Where is the AG?!? This is like the Solider’s Home just on a smaller scale!
