An article in the Berkshire Eagle today is making every excuse for why the virus has infected nearly every patient at Hillcrest Commons and how they just don’t know why. BHS, especially, can’t tell if it was a visitor or a employee who started it even though they did identify 2 employees early on who came to work with the virus. They are blaming 3 super spreader events in the city that started community spread, but the article emphasized how one restaurant owner was following all the infection protocols, but people still got sick. No mention of whether Hillcrest Commons was following all of the infection protocols even though they are a health facility in charge of many elderly and frail seniors. It’s obvious that BHS will not be taking any responsibility for their inability to stop the virus in Hillcrest Commons and the media will not be challenging them to do so.
and that kind of slanted interpretation of the situation is recognized for what it is and gives potential customers pause when thinking abou subscribing
I doubt that. People subscribe to the Eagle for its insightful and responsible reporting on the truth of anything?
Where is the investigate reporting? It is admitted that employees coming in to work were infected. Why did they report to work? Were they forced to come in? Was there a staff shortage? Maybe the hospital didn’t have a backup plan if they had infected workers? We had somebody on this board who said his son was asked to report to work by the nursing home even though they knew he tested positive. He refused, but how many others didn’t refuse even if they were sick maybe fearing they would lose their job? How did the virus get into a locked unit unless the virus was being spread by a food preparer? The questions are endless. The public deserves answers.

There is a way to stop the virus from spreading throughout the entire nursing home. Health officials are supposed to be trained in this. Once it gets in, infection control needs to kick into high gear to contain it from spreading to all of the patients. That did not happen at Hillcrest Commons. Is this because it spread from the kitchen and all patients were infected all at once? Was a food preparer one of the infected workers?
China is the culprit and we even see today just how deep the coverup was for China to prevent the world from knowing just how serious this virus is because China did not want to suffer alone.
Both China and USA got the virus. Does not matter where it came from now. What matters is how you deal with it. China took strict measures and is doing as well as could be expected. America on the other hand, under horrible leadership, has done almost everything wrong. These two countries are going in opposite directions.
People can spin this all they want but American leadership seems to be intentionally making this as bad as possbile. Coincidentaly, that is just the way Putin would want us to handle it. The weaker we get the happier he is and he is getting a lot of happy days under Donald Trump. Donald will hand him the keys to the country a few days before any inaugration.
Beagle is as reliable as RT.com (Russian News Network) to perpetuate the status quo. The competence of the status quo must sting somewhere as so many are suffering.

Out of the pictures posted in the article, the one missing was the “Dancing with the Stars one.
Merry Christmas to all! Social distancing can be a good thing in Pittsfield.
Social distancing and masking aren’t enforced at certain venues. Ask those who are ill because of it. Connell for a Orbit.
The Eagle interviewed us and didn’t include it in the article. We were at Meth, four of us. We all go to two local colleges. We met there because we thought it was ok and the bar was open.
None of us had Covid, we all get tested at college all the time so we thought we were safe.
They are making it look like people brought Covid to the bar that could be true but we got it from the bar.
Yuki was there and she didn’t wear a mask, when she did she’d take it off to talk.
She came over to our table, gabbed a little, no mask.
She laughed when we put our masks on when she came over. She said “it’s ok if you are at a table you don’t have to wear a mask”.
She said she was super busy and was short staffed because two of her staff were out sick. She even said they were getting Covid tests.
We ordered one drink at left. We were only at our table she was the only person we talked to.
She does this thing she will sit at your table and take your order and take off her mask.
All four of us tested positive for Covid a week later. None of us were contacted by anyone from the city, there was never a notice about a super spreader event. We only found out on Facebook. My friend’s father died from Covid just before Christmas. The city nurse still hasn’t contacted any of us.

I know I already voted for Yuki for the Orbit Award, but after reading this, I’ll double down on it.
The Berkshire Eagle, Tricia Country-Buffet, Linda Tyer, all blamed Mazzeo’s as the one of the main culprits of being the super-spreader. Shifting the focus away from Yuki and Meth.
When caught with the smoking gun (picture), Yuki used race, being a single mom, an immigrant, as the reasons she was being singled out. Did it stop there?
No, Yuki then took up a collection on GoFundMe to pay her fine. She even made more than requested. Will she report this as income? What will Yuki do with the money? Not to mention possible ethic violations?
If Yuki doesn’t get the coveted Orbit award, can I nominate her for the POS award, along side Helen Moon?
Get rid of the pork in the COVID relief bill. Now is not the time for us to invest millions in studying the mating habits of the Ethiopian tree frog. Is there ever a good time for that? People are suffering in the country and money should just go toward relief for them and not all of these pet projects and aid to foreign countries which adds up to billions in the COVID relief bill.

Be thankful for this and don’t turn to name calling but try to understand where the other person’s thoughts are learned.
