“REMEMBER” THE ALAMO? NAH, IT’S BEST WE FORGET IT … or … THE ERRIE PARALLELS TO TODAY

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

First of Two Parts

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY AUG. 30, 2021) — Those old enough to remember the 1950s can identify three icons that became cultural myths: Marilyn, Elvis, and Davy Crockett. What kid didn’t fall under Disney’s spell and want to heroically fight the Mexicans with Fess Parker at the Alamo?

THE PLANET caught the fever. We had some Disney merchandise, including the Topps trading cards and the Marx Alamo play set. Decades later in the mid-2000s, we hosted Parker on radio’s “The Dan Valenti Show.” Parker plugged his vineyard in California, but not before THE PLANET steered him into the Disney Alamo. It ranks in the Top 10, maybe the Top Five, of our nearly 4,000 such broadcasts.

The myth states that St. Davy and his Tennesseans valiantly joined William Travis, Jim Bowie, and their ragtag bunch to fight and die for liberty, American values, and apple pie.

What a Crock(ett).

———- ooo ———-

The myth eerily anticipates today’s cultural war, the far-left woke vs. the rear-right neocons with reason, facts, and logic occupying the middle. THE PLANET‘s readings and research into history long ago taught us to doubt the myths surrounding the Alamo. A new book, Forget the Alamo, bears out our hunches.

Are you ready the the truth about the Alamo?

The narrative of history too often belongs to the victors. In the Alamo’s case, after nearly slipping away unnoticed and forgotten which should have occurred, the losers rewrote the tale. Actually, as a rhetorical technique, the best we can do with historical narrative is to ferret out as many facts as possible then insert the facts into the timeline. Accurate historical analysis them becomes a connect-the-dots puzzle. The more dots (facts) the truer the picture.

In their exhaustively researched book (2021, Penguin Press), coauthors Byran Burrough, Chris Tomlinson, and Jason Stanford lay out the facts.

  • Spain had controlled Mexico since the days of the Conquistadors, the dudes who brought disease, pillage, and Christianity to the “greasers” (a term describing Mexican laborers who greased wagon wheels). The imperial reign included the vast land of present-day Texas.

  • When Napoleon invaded Spain in 1808, the Mexican Revolution began. For the next 13 years, Mexicans fought and won their War of Independence. The imperial reign collapsed in 1821. Texas was now part of Mexico.
  • In the meantime, many Tejanos — Americans mostly from the Deep South — had “invaded” Texas with one purpose, to search for new land to grow cotton. The Deep South had a captive customer in England’s ravenous hunger for cotton.
  • The nascent Industrial Revolution capitalized on American Eli Whitney’s invention of the cotton gin (a machine that removed the seeds from cotton 50 times faster than human hands). Good ol’ American greed took over, and cotton growers flooded into Texas to grow their crop in the area’s perfect heat and soil.
  • The Tejano’s cotton plantations required also needed slaves. Lots of slaves. Without slavery, present-day Texas would not exist. To secure slavery, the American immigrants declared themselves a sovereign nation.
  • However, the Tejano’s moral vacuity ran into a problem. Mexico, which still considered Texas theirs, forbade slavery.
  • The Tejanos, Texicans, and Crocketts at the Alamo didn’t die for liberty. They died to protect slavery.

  • Before invading Texas, Mexican ruler Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna sought permission of his Congress, writing: “There is a considerable number of slaves in Texas … who have been introduced by their masters under cover of certain questionable contracts, but who according to our laws should be free. Shall we permit these wretches to moan in chains … in a country whose kind laws protect the liberty of man without distinction of caste or color?”

Forget Disney and John Wayne. The facts can now truthfully answer the question: Which side fought at the Alamo for the noble cause of freedom? Yes, the Mexicans.

The authors put it this way: “If Santa Anna’s approach spelled doom for the Anglo colonists … it meant freedom for Texas slaves, still a full 10 percent of the population.”

———- ooo ———-

The panorama bears striking resemblance to today’s cultural wars, the ones ripping apart the quilt of America.

Our story picks up with Part Two in the next edition of THE PLANET

———————————————————-

“The Alamo’s place in history will probably be that of the most lavish B picture ever made … B for banal” — Newsweek, on John Wayne’s 1960 film.

“OPEN THE WINDOW, AUNT MILLIE.”

LOVE TO ALL.

Did any local money managers get any Covid money yet and if not are they on the to do list?
The “cultural crowd” has their hands out as far as they can get them wanting what they feel is their fair share of 40 million dollars. Pittsfield brags about how hot a ticket is to one of their culture events. And ticket prices are too high for most Pittsfield wage earners. So if what they are offering is in such high demand, why is begging and pandering what they do most?? Why is Pittsfield’s high demand, can’t live without, culture, begging more than the local panhandlers? Are they like shell companies to hide money in or suntin?

My guess is that they will be more upscale than most of that area. Might be a bit of a Stanley Plan investment thingy where the taxpayers pretty much get stuck with much of the construction costs and tax forgiveness and grants etc. Owner may come out of the gate ahead without the first tenant. And it is located a bit away from much of the commotion in that area and may have tenants lined up already.
Stanley is still licking his chops over the deal he pulled off with inside help.

I read that the apartments would go around $1,900 a month and others for $1,800 a month. 4 in total. The Affordable Housing needed in our community from our local leaders is just a phrase used and market rate was the goal all along for their development friends.

The other thing that should be included in the deal the owners are getting from the city, is they should have to fund city hall handing out ky gel to those going into pay their property taxes that get no tax breaks.

What about 2021? The U.S. Government’s biggest non-farm export are military weapons. The U.S. Government’s war machine fights continual military conflicts and proxy wars that have killed millions upon millions of innocent foreign Peoples since the end of World War 2, as well as led to humanitarian crises across the world such as the one in Yemen. The U.S. Government’s military industrial complex is in all 50 states and has grown so very powerful that the Pentagon’s budget is in the hundreds of billions of dollars each and every fiscal year. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is said to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars from her military industry-filled stock portfolio, and many of other Members of U.S. Congress have made millions of dollars off of their similar defense-related investments. Why is the U.S. Government so militaristic, greedy, and in bed with the defense contractors and arm salesmen? What kind of message is the U.S. Government sending to the world? To say that U.S. arms sales, the war machine, the military industrial complex, and so on is excessive is an understatement. We fought against fascism and communism because we did not want Big Brother government in our lives, but the U.S. Government always has to be number one in military power to the point that we have become the dreaded Big Brother government to the rest of the world. I don’t feel safe when I predict where all of this militarism is all going to lead to in the future. I hope that we will never have a World War 3. If we do, the elites will live in space stations, the Moon, Mars, and the like, while the rest of us are killed in a nightmarish dystopian future. But all that matters to the elites is the Almighty Dollar!!!!

The moon was made in 1994 by order of the EPA and OSHA. We pumped all of our asbetos into plastic bags and launched them by cannon into our outer atmosphere where it all congealed into a giant ball. Though voluminous and reflective, it has the density of dust bunnies and definitely would not support a lunar vehicle. I recommend reading Infinite Jest to learn what happened to the Northeast Kingdom and Quebec.

Elvis Presley’s relationship with Priscilla Presley was bizarre to say the least. The King started dating Priscilla Presley when she was merely 14, and he was 24. Already this is an enormous red flag, one that often gets glossed over.

Williamson explains that while on tour, Elvis brought along three 14-year-olds who he would urge to wrestle, tickle, and kiss him. Presley also dated several minors, including Dixie Locke, who was 15 when they dated — Presley was 22. This came before he started seeing Priscilla Presley.

At a February 1968 workshop to train ministers in urban leadership, it is alleged: “One Negro minister in attendance later expressed his disgust with the behind-the scene drinking, fornication, and homosexuality that went on at the conference.”
“Several Negro and white prostitute[s] were brought in from the Miami area. An all-night sex orgy was held with these prostitutes and some of the delegates.”
The document alleged that Dr King also engaged in a “two-day drunken sex orgy” in Washington in January 1964.
“When one of the females shied away from engaging in an unnatural act, King and other of the males present discussed how she was to be taught and initiated in this respect,” it added.
“It is a fact that King not only regularly indulges in adulterous acts but enjoys the abnormal by engaging in group sexual orgies.”

Dan, I enjoy the history of the Alamo. Bring a history major, it’s always great to read a little history.

Now, where you left off, makes Santa Anna seem like a saint and a true man of the people. But, three weeks later, at the Goliad massacre, Santa Anna tortured and killed almost 450 Texas prisoners of war.

Of course about a month later, Santa Anna was beaten at the Battle of San Jacinto and Texas earned its independence from Mexico.

“A group of highly trained US military veterans have been conducting secret rescue missions behind the Biden State Department’s back, rescuing hundreds of Afghan allies from Afghanistan with their heroic efforts.
Furious over the terrible situation in they had already sacrificed so much to prevent when they served, the team of retired specialists, including Green Berets and Navy SEALS, risked their lives. They volunteered to travel to Kabul because they were afraid that Joe Biden was abandoning at-risk Afghan elite forces, leaving them to die at the hands of terrorists.

Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan, Lord
Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan

Oh well, oh well, oh well

Don’t it make you feel bad
When you’re tryin’ to find your way home
You don’t know which way to go?
If you’re goin’ down south
They got no work to do
If you’re going down to Chicago.

A-ah, a-ah, a-ah.

Cryin’ won’t help you, prayin’ won’t do you no good
No, cryin’ won’t help you, prayin’ won’t do you no good
When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move, ooh.

All last night sat on the levee and moaned
All last night sat on the levee and moaned
Thinkin’ ’bout my baby and my happy home
Ah-oh.

Ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah, ah, ah

Sorry, but I can’t take you, ahhh
Goin’ down, goin’ down now

A different look at this book;

These authors have hopped onto the contemporary bandwagon with little knowledge of what they’re actually writing about. They claim that the legacy of the Alamo is only in memory of white slave owners. They completely shove aside the true historical facts of the Alamo and the Texas Revolution to make this conclusion.

Amos Pollard, an Alamo defender, was a staunch abolitionist. David Crockett, probably the most famous defender of the Alamo, lost his career in Congress because he stood up for the civil rights of Native Americans. Samuel McCulloch Jr., was a free African American who was one of the most adamant supporters of Texas’ complete independence from Mexico.

Additionally, Texas was created by both Anglos and Tejanos. Just take a look at the signatures on its Declaration of Independence. If you do, then you’ve already done more research than these authors did.

“Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier” was the first movie to show Crockett as a civil rights leader. John Wayne’s “The Alamo” was the first to portray how much the Tejanos did for the Texas Revolution. I guess these authors didn’t watch those movies though.

In conclusion, the Texas Revolutionary Army consisted of: Tejanos, enslaved African Americans, free African Americans, abolitionists, slave traders, European foreigners, women, and even Native Americans. It’s a beautiful story of one the earliest and most culturally mixed armies in American History…but you don’t get to read about it in this waste of paper.

Report: Biden Regime Targets “ISIS-K” Terrorists in Kabul Missile Strike – Kills 3 to 6 Children Instead e
The Biden regime can’t find all of the Americans in Afghanistan.

They don’t even know the exact number of Americans stranded in the country.
But we are all supposed to believe that Joe Biden and the US
Military were able to identify two ISIS-K bombers and incinerate them in
a Kabul missile strike earlier today.
As reported earlier – The US military today fired a missile at an apartment in Kabul, Afghanistan.

But it appears Sleepy Joe may have missed his mark.

Seven to nine people including several children were killed today in the US missile strike.

7 civilians, including 4 children, were killed, 4 others were injured in a #US drone attack today in PD15 of #Kabul.

2 of them were previously serving in ANA.They belonged to Andarab district of Baghlan province & had no relations to #ISKP. pic.twitter.com/e7PaJDVaxy

“Using the U.S. military as political pawns with thousands of troops deployed around the U.S. Capitol Building, patrolling fences guarding against a non-existent threat, along with forcing Politically Correct policies like the divisive critical race theory into the military at the expense of the War Fighting Mission, seriously degrades readiness to fight and win our Nation’s wars, creating a major national security issue. We must support our Military and Vets; focus on war fighting, eliminate the corrosive infusion of Political Correctness into our military which damages morale and war fighting cohesion.”

https://flagofficers4america.com/read-and-sign-our-letters

“A fundamental principle in the military is holding those in charge responsible and accountable for their actions or inactions. There must be accountability at all levels for this tragic and avoidable debacle.”

Imagine America having history taught not for the advantage of the majority but taught to take the truth into the future. The truth must make a comback as it is now diluted with lies that are threatening and I would say lies are winning the war on minority truth.Well done again Dan.Journalism is also fading but not today.

Here is another local myth. Andrea Harrington. She faked her experience. Andrea Harrington represented no death penalty cases. Andrea Harrington only ever tried 7 cases, mostly DUI’s, lost them all and asked for a new trial due to her own incompetence. Where is her tracking of racial bias in police arrests!!!???

What is the point of her spending time and inviting people to this? How does it benefit Berkshire residents? To what end? What is Harrington running for now?

Dear Friends,

Please join me, Senator Elizabeth Warren, and many other progressive Massachusetts elected officials in supporting Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer next Tuesday, August 31st, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Four years ago, Yvonne made history when she not only became the first mayor of Framingham but the first popularly elected African American woman mayor in Massachusetts.

As our country and our Commonwealth face tough challenges—a pandemic burning out of control, an economy that is being squeezed to its breaking point, and profound racial injustice that can no longer be denied—Framingham can count on Mayor Spicer’s bold, persistent leadership to move the city forward and tackle our biggest challenges.

Mayor Spicer understands the importance of structural change to lead the community through the pandemic, dismantle systemic racism, and build a Framingham that works for all residents. She is ready to keep up these fights with another term as Mayor, and I am proud to endorse her.

I hope you’ll join us at this virtual event for Mayor Spicer. Your support goes a long way and is greatly appreciated. You can register or make a donation here.

Thank you,

Andrea

COINTELPRO

IT’S ALIVE!

Harassment via the legal system: The FBI and the police abuse the legal system to harass dissidents and make them appear to be criminals. Officers of the law gave perjured testimony and presented fabricated evidence as a pretext for false arrests and wrongful imprisonment. …..

Illegal force: The FBI conspired with local police departments to threaten dissidents; to conduct illegal break-ins in order to search dissidents homes; and to commit vandalism, assaults, beatings, and assassinations……..

So once again Sleepy Joe lies to Americans. How many times have we heard him say in the past few weeks that he was going to get everyone out of Afghanistan, in his words “Leave No One Behind”. He did NOT do that, he left 250+ behind, of course we don’t know if that is the true number. The war is over is being announced on all of the news stations, yet he is going to wait until tomorrow to speak to the US. Totally strange that our President did not address the Americans immediately. Why does he have to wait to communicate this news? Does it take a day for him to get the story straight? Does it take a day for someone to create the information for his giant teleprompter. Does he have to check with his “secret someone” that he always claims he will get in trouble with if he disobeys them? Anyone else notice since he has been in office he has yet to hold a news conference in the evening? Every President I can think of in my life has always spoken in the evening so those that work can watch. Can’t help but wonder if Sleepy Joe is suffering from “sun downing” in the evening. Sun downing is a very common symptom of dementia. Something is just not right. How can us Americans trust what is coming out from the White House if our President has to wait days communicate to us? I pray that those left behind are safe and somehow can find a way out!

The mayor and Roofie are anxious to start an unprecedented spending spree. They have heard from the constituents and will now do what they want anyway. If you have ever been to an Iowa pig farm and watch the hogs fight over food that will give you a preview of what is about to happen in Pittsfield. Human nature at its disgusting worst.

Avarice is a passion for wealth and the power it can purchase. The Preacher in the Book of Ecclesiastes observes, “money answers everything,” (Eccles. 10.19) a cynical, yet apt, remark about the capacity of money to pave many of the roads we must travel. St. Thomas Aquinas identifies avarice (or covetousness) as one of the Capital sins, i.e., a sin that gives rise to other sins. Among these are an insensibility to the needs of others, and the possibility of using violence or falsehood to obtain what belongs to someone else. Treachery, which motivated Judas, is another fruit of avarice. (ST II-II, 118. 1,3,7,8)

Pittsfield is about to throw away 40,000,000 dollars and having no financial discipline it should be a great show. Name 1 councilor who could put a 6 months stop to spending so that every idea to spend will be vetted.A city on the east end of ma. Said this is the biggest responsibility he has ever overseen and does not want 1 dollar wasted.

They could sit on money for a decade and still not spend it wisely! Completely throwing it all to their friends and screwing over the Kapanski’s! I agree they should do a forensic audit and keep track of every cent showing how it improved Pittsfield. They still have time to put towards the one thing that would benefit every person in the city…water and sewer!

The allegedly elected pimps of schittsfield are proof that not all politicians, ugly buildings, and whores all get respectable if they last long enough. Schittsfield, like the rest of ameriKa is however proof that H.L. Mencken was right. “As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and a complete narcissistic moron.” Certainly in 1920, other than cleaning the toilets, no one would have believed that negros would have commandeered the White House, and turned it into a cesspool. SCHITTSFIELD, and, the HOLE of ameriKa! There goes the neighborhood!

Eagle did analysis on rent.

Please explain this:

Square feet offered: 5,900
Cost per square foot: $28
Average yearly cost for a three-year lease: $165,200

Another location
Square feet offered: 5,900
Cost per square foot: $25
Average yearly cost for a three-year lease: $165,200

Same square feet, different price, same cost.

Biden now giving address on Afghanistan and lying his ass off!
He should be tried for treason!
Billions in equipment given to enable the Taliban! American citizens stranded in Afghanistan! Thousands of afghans relocated to the U.S. without proper vetting!

Biden & his globalists are intent on destroying our country to help usher in one-world government.

Gaslighting is A propaganda tool
Used by the fake news for hundreds of years. Nothing new.

The New York slimes and IBM covered up Hitlers atrocities, until it was nearly too late. Greed is human weakness.

Prior to that the flat earth crowd used it as a means of control, covid is the new control mechanism. How else could
99.9 percent survivable illness , shut down the world?

Afghanistan like Mexico won w battle, now the Bushes ,Cheney’s and military industrial complex have another reason to start yet another war.

Leaving 2500 peacekeepers to support freedom, doesn’t seem a bad plan now.
But there was no money in that!
