PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION OCT. 22-4, 2021) — Do you recall how much Linda Tyer flogged “transparency” when she sashayed into the corner office?

“I’m looking through you. Where did you go? / I thought I knew you. What did I know?” — The Beatles.

Now we know her promise had about as much credibility as a harelip in an elocution contest.

Tyer has formed an advisory committee to help her spend the KOVID KASH from Uncle Sam — and didn’t think Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski should know about it. Pittsfield is due $41 million in public funds. Some $20 million has been received. She doesn’t want the public to witness the committee’s deliberations.

How to spend? That’s why she needs partners in crime the way Boss Tweed needed Tammany.

We use the word “crime” because The Lovely Linda has announced the committee will be meeting every other week through December — in Secret. There’s only one reason THE PLANET will accept for this arrogant,  tone-deaf move: They want to hide something. Why else would Tyer forbid public access to these deliberations and no broadcasting of the sessions.

Deanna Puffer, Kufflinks, and Ricardo Morales.

In other words, this black-ribbon panel will be a Star chamber in which Tyer and henchpeople — Matt “Kufflinks” Kerwood and Deanna Suffer … er … Puffer … uh… Ruffer — will be free to hands out the goods to those contractors, vendors, and special interests that have been good little boys and girls.

To be clear, however, there will be

  • absolutely no waste of money
  • great accountability
  • meticulous oversight
  • absolutely no graft,
  • no corruption,
  • no bribes
  • no kickbacks
  • no unmarked enveloped stuffed with Benjamins. That stuff doesn’t happen in “dynamic, vibrant” Pittsfield.

Members of the crime commission include A.J. Enchill, Rev. Joel Huntington, Sheila Irvin, Dr. Alan Kulberg, Council President Peter Marchetti, Ellen Spear, Kamaar Taliaferro, Dubois Thomas, and Brett Westbrook.

Yes, it’s a moral crime that $41 million in public money will be handed out “free” with the public not allowed to see.

TYER: “I think it’s essential that that experience of serving on the advisory council is honored in a way that allows them to be honest and forthright with us about what they’re seeing, without being worried that they’re being watched and questioned,” Tyer said. “It’s really important to me that space is honored in a way that builds trust … so I think — for now — I think we’re going to keep it a sacred space for us to work together.” [PLANET’s emphasis].

She is “honored” to preside over this slap in the face? She point blank says the committee shouldn’t be “watched and questioned?”

Being watched and questioned is PRECISELY what a commission like this needs to keep it above board.

Study her words again:

“I think it’s essential that that experience of serving on the advisory council is honored in a way that allows them to be honest and forthright with us about what they’re seeing, without being worried that they’re being watched and questioned,” Tyer said. “It’s really important to me that space is honored in a way that builds trust … so I think — for now — I think we’re going to keep it a sacred space for us to work together.”

THE PLANET immediately fired off the following request for comment to Tyer and Marchetti. Neither responded.

When the phone doesn’t ring, we’ll know it’s them not getting back to us.

We asked Tyer:

“Are you serious about this?
You don’t think the public has a right to witness and question the allocation of $$tens of millions?
I’d like to hear your justifications, leaving out “sacred space.”
———- ooo ———-
While Pittsfield citizens have been ceaseless victims of all kinds of secret deals, THE PLANET hasn’t seen this level of sneakery since Gerry Doyle and finance director David Kiley “redirected” millions of dollars meant to pay the health insurance premiums for city workers.

If ever an issue caused a riot in from of city hall, this one is it.

Don’t hold your breath, however. The Suits have citizens just where they want them: abject, beaten, and willing to stay silent in the face of all-out rookery.

———- ooo ———–

Finally, THE PLANET shares news of this important public=health meeting:

Meetings of Public Bodies What meetings are covered by the Open Meeting Law? With certain exceptions, all meetings of a public body must be open to the public. A meeting is generally defined as “a deliberation by a public body with respect to any matter within the body’s jurisdiction.” As explained more fully below, a deliberation is a communication between or among members of a public body. These four questions will help determine whether a communication constitutes a meeting subject to the law: 1) is the communication between or among members of a public body; 2) if so, does the communication constitute a deliberation; 3) does the communication involve a matter within the body’s jurisdiction; and 4) if so, does the communication fall within an exception listed in the law? What constitutes a public body? While there is no comprehensive list of public bodies, any multi-member board, commission, committee or subcommittee within the executive or legislative branches1 of state government, or within any county, district, city, region or town, if established to serve a public purpose, is subject to the law.

Linda Tyer proved to be yet another phony baloney Pittsfield politician. Sarcasm: Big surprise there. She is obviously in Pittsfield politics for her own personal gain, and she hit the proverbial lottery jackpot by marrying her “three times is a charm” wealthy husband Barry Clairmont who is a CPA where they live together in their millionaires only gated community in far west Pittsfield within feet of the Hancock border. Linda Tyer’s financial management public record includes record high municipal budgets, fees, public debts and other liabilities, Matt Kerwood’s multimillion dollar Slush Funds, and sitting on tens of millions in Biden Bucks and then having the temerity to shut out the public from knowing the process of how the Biden Bucks will be spent. Mayor Linda Tyer’s mark on public education in Pittsfield is to work with her rubber stamp School Committee who defends its Level 5 inner city public schools. Mayor Linda Tyer’s mark on economic development in Pittsfield is to work with her rubber stamp City Council to give out-of-town millionaires huge tax breaks, calling North Street “A work in progress”, and taxing the proverbial Kapanski family out of their homes. I thought Jimmy Ruberto turned out to be a big failure for Pittsfield Massachusetts, but Mayor Linda Tyer is by far the biggest failure in Pittsfield politics corrupt and inequitable municipal government that consistently makes everyone turn their head in disgust.

Did Tyer really say she wanted to keep a “sacred space??? Is there any federal government agency running a watchdog oversight on this money? If not we all need to write to Senator Elizabeth Warren. I know trumps troops like to trash her but this is the kind of thing she gets her teeth into. I am serious. If Tyer gets a call from Warren she will come apologizing to the people with her tail between her legs.

She did not just spit in our faces she lungered. How unprofessional can one person be? Are all the city councilors including Mr Persip, on board with her plan to keep discussions secret? Can we asked them each to make a public reply?
This is one more reason four year terms are a horrible idea for Pittsfield as way too much power builds up as a result.

I am 100% Opposed.

This notion of secrecy and the lack of a comprehensive survey of needs violates everything that I have advocated to date, and raises a tremendous amount of concern and doubt. Not particularly impressed by the panel either. Does this team reflect the required expertise (in infrastructure dev, social science research, statistician, legal expert on ARPA, social/health directors, clergy)? Maybe it does, but I would expect the Mayor to make her case for the team first.

Can we ask our mayor what the criteria was that she used in selecting this “sacred committee “? Who are these people and what is their expertise in public finance and administration? What political affiliation are they? Is this an all inclusive group? It should not be hard to realize the best long term use for this money would be to upgrade and improve water and sewer. It will have to happen and the city was just given money to help with the project. Water and sewer is used by every person in the city. It is the most equitable use of this money and it is vibrant and diverse. Are they going to create another survey that would be more legitimate than the last one? This is just typical Pittsfield government and the reason it will never become a prosperous and envied place to live and work. Very very sad that are leaders are all corrupt….Let’s go Brandon!!

My question is: who in that fine room is being ‘protected’ by the closed door? We close doors to silence the screams of those beaten by sticks.

We should insist that the Mayor really be transparent which is more than treasury report: too little information and too late. Disclose how they decide to spend the money and make it easily public. Secret meetings should be a no-go for contract approvals.

The use of ‘sacred’ here is really déclassé. Bad taste. She protests too much, methinks.

While we are waiting on the robot…..

https://uafreport.com/daniel/anti-joe-biden-song-rockets-to-number-one-on-itunes-chart-video/

Something that began as a misheard chant from a crowd of enthusiastic racing fans has grown into a national theme song. It all started during a post-race interview on NBC Sports.
NASCAR driver Brandon Brown had just claimed his first career NASCAR victory.
During his interview, fans began to chant a loud reoccurring chorus. The NBC news reporter doing the interview waxed so affectionately about how the crowd was shouting their approval for Brown. They were not.
Kelli Stavast was hearing something far different from what these people were actually yelling. They weren’t verbally displaying their adoration for Brandon Brown’s monumental victory. They were shouting their bitter disapproval of the horrific job being done by our current president.

The one line chorus wasn’t “Let’s Go, Brandon”. Fans were screaming, “F*** Joe Biden”. That’s quite a contrast in lyrical meaning. This vocal displeasure with the deplorable job performance by Joe Biden since he moved into the White House has gone viral.

In the Oct.7 Beagle Karen Kalinowsky and Craig Benoit, both running for the council, stated that they felt there needed to be more transparency and that we need to know where our money is going.

Perhaps the mayor feared they might get elected so she needed to lock the money down before there might be a council person who actually questioned what was going on. Spend it while she had lap dog councilors who have their collective heads up her ass and are terrified to actually serve the people that voted for her.

And Kerwood??/ Same doe eyed puppy dog trained to use the litter box and not make a mess for the mayor. Good boy Matty….Good boy!!!

Agree! This may be THE issue for the next 2-4 years. ARPA could be the answer to the bedrock challenges that spread their impact across our demographics and businesses.

City Council ward councilors are the closest to the people, and they must be a check on the Mayor – if elected I will stand firm against this type of behavior.

Hello Alan Chartock,

I read your op-ed in The Berkshire Edge online newspaper about the list of candidates who may run for Governor of New York in 2022. I thought it was interesting that you included Hillary Clinton in the list after I had wrote to you that I received political emails predicting that she will run next year.

Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial by jury will begin on November 29th, 2021 and will go on for weeks and possibly months. Bill Clinton has 26 flight logs on the late Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet. Ghislaine Maxwell and her Attorneys said that they have documented evidence against Bill Clinton and other rich and powerful men who were allegedly associated with Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking ring of minor women under the age of 18 who were allegedly purchased by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to be allegedly sexually exploited by older men such as allegedly Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, the UK Prince Andrew, Donald Trump, and others.

My feeling is that Hillary Clinton’s rumored interest in running for Governor of New York will depend on what happens with Bill Clinton during and after Ghislaine Maxwell’s upcoming trial by jury next month. As for Andrew Cuomo being on the list to run for Governor of New York in 2022, he still needs to explain his alleged sexual misconduct, including allegedly putting his hands up much younger women’s skirts. The one dozen women who came forward about him all had similar allegations, and unless they conspiratorially colluded to frame Andrew Cuomo, it sure looks like their allegations have merit.

I don’t know why disgraced politicians try to come back when new blood and new ideas are a much better alternative than everyone having to relive the past. I wish career politicians were term limited so we could have real change instead of business as usual in government. In closing, sometimes its good to retire from politics, especially after one has disgraced themselves in government.

Best wishes,

Jonathan A. Melle

Wearing a mask for for a virus, is like the chain link fence You have around Your house, to keep out the mosquitos. How’s that working?

More people dying now of the jab than the Kung Flu. (99.9% unvaccinated fully recover with better immunity than the jabs)

And highly vaccinated countries, have higher Covid infection rates now, than in 2020, before the jab.

Now don’t tell me I need the jab to protect You. That’s like telling my wife to get birth control pills, so Yours won’t get pregnant.

You don’t see a thing at all.

The “vaccines” don’t work, you still get the virus, with low immunity.

But with natural contracted immunity you have better immunity. And 99.9% who get natural imuinty, recover from any Covid, and/or are asymptomatic. So thousand to ONE odds.

Vaccinated, who contract the virus, have thousands of times the viral load, verses those who just get the Kung Flu. That is “super spreaders”. And they sure do contract the virus, and spread it.

That is why the ineffective , vaccines, need numerous “boosters”.

Bend over for Your next…..

One more farty.

These emergency approved “vaccines” (long term unknown), which are are not vaccines, as they do not confer immunity nor prevent spread of virus, don’t really work. Many long term irreversible effects documented.

Among those vaccinated then become infected, they become “super spreaders ” (kind of like Kamala) who have many times the viral load of of the infected and unvaccinated.

The inventor of mRNA vaccines, Dr. Malone, has come out strongly against what Fauci/FDA/CDC is doing.

A quote from selected IM-POTUS Traitor Joseph Stolen

“He then mocked those who are against COVID-19 vaccines on the basis of personal choice.
“‘Freedom! ‘I have the freedom to kill you with my COVID,'” Biden joked, and was met with applause, laughs, and cheers. “No, I mean, come on, freedom.”

“Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) appeared on Fox News Friday morning, where she slammed the president for his remarks on police and first responders as well as for mocking the American public, much of which prides itself on freedom of choice.
“My reaction is this is absolutely absurd and sadly it’s very typical of Joe Biden and the Biden administration to attack Americans’ everyday freedoms,” she said. “First of all, they’re turning their backs on law enforcement officers and first responders who put their lives and their health on the line every single day, particularly during the COVID pandemic. … These mandates are unconstitutional and it’s an attack on our very freedoms in this country and to have the President of the United States mock freedom, frankly, that’s un-American.”

Biden and his fellow Marxists do not value freedom or private ownership. Those are big American values and if these fanatics are allowed to get more and more power, Americans will no longer own cars and houses, because “You will own nothing and be happy” is the far left Marxist slogan that is sweeping Europe and these are the same people that Joe, Pelosi, and Chuck are promising to bring down American to this European model of Marxist totalitarianism.

Australia is rejecting the “Great Reset” which is another Marxist slogan for takeover of the monetary systems of all countries. Why do you think Pelosi is so adamant about knowing what is in everyone’s bank account? Just as you will no longer own private property, neither will your money be your own. These are some of the wealthiest people in the world telling us, “You will own nothing and be happy”. It just will not apply to the millionaires and billionaires of the world. Only the serfs.

Off subject, but then again maybe not! My comment is going to show how the taxpayers of Pittsfield voices are not heard!

Spent another disrupted sleepless night listening to racing motorcycles on Dalton Avenue. Even with all house windows closed residents can still hear them. Residents signed a petition back in August to have PPD address this issue. Petition was first tossed to the absent Police Chief. Would like to hear a response from our Ward Councilor if he ever even received a response from Wynn. At least Wynn could have lied and said he passed the information to the Head of the Traffic Division. It then gets sent to Public Safety and Health, it take Moonbean at least two months to call a meeting. Why did it take so long? Now Moonbeam is sending it to Bike Lane Inventor Morales to install measures to slow traffic. Never have been so angry and disgusted! Evidently we are being lied to that this Administration has a Traffic Division. Is there a reason police officers no longer monitor traffic. Most likely it is because NO ONE wants to be a police officer in Pittsfield. Why? Maybe our do nothings Mayor, Chief of Police and totally useless CC should find out what the problem is! Isn’t it ironical that the biggest advocate for defunding the police, Moonbeam is the head of the Public Safety and Health Committee. Another vibrant and dynamic decision by Tyer and Pee Pee Petie. Bottom line I will never ever sign another Pittsfield Useless Petition, it was a complete waste of time. Why even have this system as it is just a meaningless waste of paper.

This Ward now endures many pot shops, a methadone clinic that serves over 600 patients a day, and an up and growing stench filled pot cultivating business. This former family oriented quiet Ward has been completely ignored. Our current councilor has tried but unfortunately because he tried he was not part of the Tyer Puppet Panel. In reading about Tyer’s current plan for all her secret stash why is no money being spent in this Ward. She has certainly used our Ward to plant her political friends businesses. Wonder if any of the pot tax money will be used in this Ward?

Pat

So sad. Tyer and her fellow politicians live in quiet neighborhoods and enjoy peaceful quiet nights and the scent of pine from nearby forests. This will only get worse as these people are given more and more power. Pittsfield is ground zero for this far left Marxist movement and they are well established here. The gaps between the haves and have nots will only continue to grow. Between those who own property and those who are not allowed to (the have nots). Usually the elites push this type of thing on poor neighborhoods, but soon all neighborhoods except for the upscale areas, will be expected to endure noise, pot odors, and crime because we will have so few rights.

I was led to believe Elizabeth Freeman Center is a safe-house but I was confused as to who they protect. Read the definition of safe house and you’ll see of course the word has two meanings. EFC protects that commerce. I surmise that there’s a big slave trade here. Being that MCAD is across the street from the strip club – you see there’s a loophole in the 13th. And also If you don’t assault your chattel, than you’re all good. You can be moved from your master if you’re assaulted, then you go work for a master who treat ya nice. Mum Bett wasn’t freed, she was transferred to a different owner. One who didn’t burn her with a hot kitchen shovel. Berkshire County Justice system is perpetrating slavery on women especially mothers. The children are forced into the system. There’s no place to call. The government is exploiting Elizabeth Freeman’s Legacy. Same with all the freedom trails, you can see it for $12 adults $8 child. Us Negro we been fighting for Freedom all along. It’s a trap. Hello Clarence Fanto,

I read your weekend op-ed about the divided U.S. Senate stopping President Biden’s Social spending agenda, including Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema who oppose expanding Social spending and raising taxes on the wealthy. I agree with your point of view that the left is living in Fantasyland, while the corporate Democrats live off of K Street lobbyist firms. I believe that Social Insurance programs – Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid – should have been the first priority because they are all financially unsustainable and near insolvency. The proposal to add vision, dental and hearing aid provisions to Medicare starting in the year 2028 never made sense to me because Medicare will be insolvent by then. The child tax credit program basically only pays for a family’s grocery order. What about all of the other family bills, such as the monthly mortgage or rent payment? The biggest thing that makes no sense to me is that the divided Democrats who run the White House and Capitol Hill by slim majorities are spending many trillions of federal dollars without raising even a small fraction of the revenue to pay for it all. It looks like the Republican Party will most likely retake the majority on Capital Hill in the 2022 midterms, which will mean even more gridlock for Joe Biden’s Social spending agenda.

On Beacon Hill, it looks like the lousy performing Berkshire legislative delegation – Paul Mark, Smitty Pignatelli, John Barrett III, and Tricia Farley Bouvier will all have another decade of job security as career backbenchers to Boston’s corrupt and secretive leadership that only does DISSERVICES to Western Massachusetts. The Massachusetts gubernatorial election in 2022 will be very interesting to watch. I would love it if Pittsfield native Ben Downing and Western Massachusetts native Adam Hinds were elected to the state’s executive office in 2022. If Downing and Hinds would be Governor and Lieutenant Governor from 2023 – 2026, then Western Massachusetts would matter to Boston for the first time in over one century. In the here and now, I don’t understand why Beacon Hill lawmakers are sitting on $10 billion in cash for months on end. I believe they should spend the money on economic development and aid. When they get around to spending the $10 billion, I would like to know where the money will go.

Best wishes,

Jonathan A. Melle

JM reread your post, you should never send good money after bad. The government programs have proven to be unreliable and horribly run. America is about personal responsibility in their life. The freedoms people have allow them to learn and work to make their life better. It is not the government’s responsibility to pay people to take care of their kids. If someone decides to have children it is their responsibility to care and raise their child just like your parents did. Another thing CF has no clue about life and government which can be seen in his opening salvo calling BS a wonderful person….a little secret Bernie is all about himself and no one else

Downing’s only claim to fame was his push for special transgender rights! Hinds has accomplished nothing, tho he shows up at all photo ops with the other Democrat losers.
Give me a break!

This blue city of Pittsfield and surrounding towns are in mental and emotional meltdown and its residents have only themselves to blame. They continue electing
the lunatics responsible for it.

So many put party before what is really needed from these politicians and that, I believe is accountability for what they said before, during and after elections.

We matter so much they moved to make things better for us? No they moved for self interest and future political gain$. They could have raised their voices while serving before and now for us much more. Other than a few ribbon cutting ceremonies, what has any of the current and the former senator from the Berkshire delegation authored for legislation to help us?
They hit all the talking points and haven’t offered any substance though. Same old from a different zip code now.

Obama was making fun of parents for thinking their children are being brainwashed by Critical Race Theory in the schools. He was campaigning in Virginia for the Democrat candidate for the upcoming election. “Their biggest issue is they think their children are being brainwashed in the schools”. Since we know the kids are being brainwashed to believe that America is bad and white Americans are racist, this makes Obama a big liar. He is working to undermine this country at every turn for his revolutionary Marxist takeover.

Why is it brainwashing to learn all of America had a history. We can no longer accept that blacks are the stepchildren of our country and only allow whites to tell their story. It is not dangerous or scary to understand this. Enlightenment is a positive tool to keep a strong country……Do not let FOX tell you what is important for a great country. The real goal of America is to learn about others and compassion is strength. We are brought up as Americans to believe ignorance is strength.

We should teach history…true history of everyone and not demonize white people living today by saying they are all racist. That just the fact of being white makes you a racist. That our country is currently evil and children should be taught to hate our country. That is not teaching history.

Why don’t you learn the real history, especially of one of our own. Read about the Dawes act and what it did to the true victims of colonialism in America. Please turn off your TV and go to the Atheneum where you can read. Maybe then your TDS will fade away and you won’t be brainwashed by CNN/MSNBC misinformation

Hello Clarence Fanto,

I received a lot of negative responses on Planet Valenti blog comment section for posting my open letter to you regarding your weekend op-ed about Joe Biden’s Social spending agenda that is being held up in U.S. Congress. I wish to let you know that I respect you as a man and a journalist who cares about the people, especially in the beautiful Berkshires. My criticisms of your work is that you always write in support of the political establishment in Berkshire County when the ruling elites there only do DISSERVICES to the people who live in the beautiful Berkshires. I also dislike your decades of support for GE making Pittsfield, and now trying to make Lee and Lenoxdale, into their dump.

Joe Biden’s Social spending agenda makes no sense to me for the following reasons. First, the federal government’s Social Insurance programs – Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid – are all financially unsustainable and are going to be insolvent in the next one to two decades. Why doesn’t Joe Biden take on the real issue, which would be to make the aforementioned Social Insurance programs financially sustainable and solvent beyond the 2020s and 2030s? Second, Bernie Sanders’ and the Squad’s plan to have Vision, Dental and Hearing Aids provisions in Medicare in 2028 begs the issue that Medicare will be insolvent around 2 years prior to 2028. That is ass backwards because Medicare will have to make cuts in 2028, while the Fantasyland left want to add costs to Medicare in 2028. What gives?

Best wishes,

Jonathan A. Melle

Hello Clarence Fanto and blogger Dan Valenti,

Blogger Dan Valenti posted: “I doubt Clarence reads THE PLANET, which might be why he never breaks news and sticks to the softballs.”

I believe that Clarence Fanto’s heart is in the right place. Unlike Planet Valenti blog, Clarence Fanto doesn’t challenge and criticize the ruling elites in Berkshire County. Clarence Fanto writes from a progressive political point of view that is the hallmark of the Dirty Bird (Berkshire Eagle) newspaper. Blogger Dan Valenti writes from a neutral point of view where he challenges and criticizes both the progressive and conservative politicians, including the lousy Berkshire legislative delegation to Boston who only does DISSERVICES to the people of Western Massachusetts.

I myself read and listen to both sides of politics within reason, of course. Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden are very questionable people who are in charge of the federal government. Donald Trump and Stephen Bannon are Nazis who are leading a racist White Nationalist political movement, which could end American Democracy as we know it. John Kerry is a billionaire who, like George W. Bush and his late father, are members of Yale’s Skull and Bones group of global secret societies that go back centuries. I believe the ruling elites are fighting against each other for political power, and that the rest of us don’t really count to them.

Best wishes,

Jonathan A. Melle

According to today’s far left progressives standards you would qualify as being labeled a Nazi and a White Nationalist member.

Now that linda the devious louse has sworn an oath of secrecy in the spending of $41 MILLION, PLUS, one has to wonder how many of her super secret scoundrels will be invited to join the louse and her creeper on an extended holiday junket to Bohemian Grove. A favorite haunt of disgraced “trustee” Evan Dobelle. So as you can see, SCARED SHROUDED SECRECY IS A MUST, because, you know you can’t be to careful when choosing your trusted “trustees”.
