PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

ADD 1 EVENING NOV. 19, 2021 — THE PLANET here, reporting that we have continued to investigate the Richmond Consolidated School firestorm. We have gathered new information with a direct bearing on all that we have reported thus far. We hope to share this new information on Monday’s post. It will provide a fuller picture of the events leading to the conflagration, the context of the incident involving 7th grade English teacher Rachel Kanz. As with all stories, there’s more than one side. THE PLANET has flushed out other sides. Be sure to tune in Monday.

———- ooo ———-

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION NOV. 19-21, 2021) — THE PLANET, and THE PLANET alone among Berkshire County media, has been investigating serious charges being made by certain members of the Richmond Consolidated School community with respect to an alleged act of violence perpetrated by a 7th grade boy on English teacher Rachel Kanz.

In conjunction with that, THE PLANET has uncovered allegations that paraprofessional Cindy Bartlett, long of Bartlett’s Apple Orchard, counseled girls to remain quiet about sexual abuse they had either suffered or witnessed in the school.

In an attempt to learn the truth, THE PLANET contacted Richmond supt. Peter Dillon; principal Dan Weston; school committee members Ina Wilhelm and Adeline Ellis; Kanz; and Bartlett. We asked each a series of details questions regarding the alleged incidents. We also invited free and full comment. If these allegations are false, we have provided a platform for those involved to dispute the claims.

Supt. Dillon responded for Weston, Wilhelm, Ellis, Kanz, and Bartlett. None of the others got back to us individually. This strongly suggests that Dillon, perhaps at the advice of counsel, issued a gag order on the others. You know how THE PLANET feels about that, especially coming from a town department solely dependent on taxpayer dollars. Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski are fine as long as they are financing the show, but as soon as the show stinks, they’re not allowed the information they need. And you wonder why good, decent citizens remain disgusted and non-participatory in and with their government?

Here’s Dillon’s response, word for word, as received:

“Please consider this correspondence to be responsive of your questions to the District as well as Rachel Kanz and Cindy Bartlett.
“The District takes the safety of its students and staff very seriously. All incidents that are reported to the District are investigated promptly and thoroughly and the District follows the relevant disciplinary laws when applicable. Allegations such as these are always fully investigated. The District always encourages students and staff to report concerns of safety immediately so that investigations can be conducted and appropriate action can be taken. Due to FERPA and Massachusetts Privacy laws, the District is not able to provide details into specific student information or personnel information.”
Every word of Dillon’s response consists of boilerplate, full of noise and telling us nothing.

———- ooo ———-

THE PLANET also learned that on Thursday (11/18) there was a meeting with school officials and an attorney representing parents. The barrister, according to sources, is Alan Righi, who practices in Pittsfield from an office on Bartlett Avenue. Here’s what one PLANET poster said about the meeting:

“There are appointments today with the school and an attorney representing the parents to make formal complaints against this out of control child. I feel bad for this kid because his home life must be horrible, but he is creating fear for many many others in the school and it seems if not taken seriously could escalate into more physical or sexual abuse towards others. The school system should and could be held liable for tolerating this for a year and a half now of verbally documented actions by this boy.”

It’s not clear if Righi represents the accused troublemaker or other parents. Sources tell THE PLANET that other parents have lawyered up, that Kanz is contemplating legal action, and that Bartlett may be in legal jeopardy over her actions and inactions. We haven’t been able to confirm these reports because, as we said before, Dillon is the only one saying peep right now.

We also share Mad Dad’s comment from Wednesday:

“Things changed yesterday [Wednesday] students were allowed to make complaints to the principal and action was taken.
I think that’s due to this website and Dan putting the school on notice! Thank you Dan.”

THE PLANET thanks Dad for this tip o’ the hat while pointing out the difference a watchdog press can make. It is the sad case, however, when a one-man blog — albeit the most widely read such media outlet in the area — has to take up the cudgel while the radio stations, other blogs and websites, and the lone local daily tiptoe through the tulips whilst strewing rose petals.

Gutless might be one word to use.

———- ooo ———-

School sources also shared two emails they say were sent by Weston (the first one) and by Dillon and Weston (the second). The portion in capitals is the annotation provided by one of the sources. Administration words are in bold.

FIRST MEMO, WESTON

Dear 7th Grade Families,

The safety, health and well-being of Richmond Consolidated School students and staff are always our priority.

LIE! THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. THE SCHOOL KNEW BEFORE THAT THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. PARENTS WARNED THE SCHOOL.

This afternoon there was an incident that occurred in a classroom between two seventh graders. A teacher intervened in to deescalate the conflict. In the process, one student made physical contact with the teacher in attempt to get past them. This was of great concern to many of our students. That staff member left school shortly after the incident for a previously scheduled appointment.

LIE! THE TEACHER LEFT BECAUSE SHE WAS INJURED. SHE TOLD A GROUP OF STUDENTS HER DOCTOR SAID SHE LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT.

The students who were not involved in the conflict were moved to a nearby classroom so that the school staff could continue to deescalate the students involved.

THEY HAD TO SHELTER IN PLACE BECAUSE OF A RUBBER BAND AND THE HYPER AGGRESSIVE ATTACK.

We have zero tolerance for physical aggression at the Richmond Consolidated School. We follow progressive discipline measures that are consistent the RCS Code of Conduct.
THEY DON’T FOLLOW THE LAW THEY HAVE NOT DONE THEIR JOBS AS MANDATED REPORTERS AND HAVE NOT FILED 51A’s!

We will continue to hold students to high standards of behavior. If you have concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to me by email or phone (413-822-2056). I am available Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. and Saturday afternoon after 2:00 p.m.
LIE! THEY’VE TOLD GIRLS TO STOP REPORTING INCIDENTS. A PARA CINDY BARTLETT OF BARTLETT’S ORCHARD SAID IT MADE THE STAFF LOOK BAD. THEY SHE FORCED THEM TO DO A GROUP HUG. THE STUDENT ADJUSTMENT PERSON DOUG WENTWORTH FORCE A VICTIM OF SEXUAL ASSAULT TO SIT WITH HER AGGRESSOR TO WORK THINGS OUT.
THEY RE-VICTIMIZE THE VICTIMS
Sincerely,

Dan Weston

Dear RCS Families,

We are reaching out in the context of reports of concerns within our 7th grade class. While we cannot provide families with details about individual incidents that involve student records which is protected under FERPA, we can share an overview of how we proceed when an incident occurs.

As such, we are providing a general overview regarding the school process for investigating incidents and the legal process for providing discipline to students when necessary.

LIE LIE LIE LIE
Whenever an incident is reported to an RCS employee, the School always takes reports seriously. The first step in the process at RCS is for an administrator to conduct an investigation into the incident to gather more information and determine what occurred. This could include talking to witnesses, looking at school surveillance footage, and gathering relevant information about what may have occurred.

If at the end of the investigation process, there is evidence that a student may have violated the RCS handbook, law, or school policy, then RCS starts the disciplinary process as outlined within Massachusetts laws. The exact process is determined by the nature of the violation. In all cases, RCS follows the legal process that affords due process rights to students who the school intends to suspend or expel, as required by law. We are attaching some flow charts to show what the legal process looks like.

THEY TOLD THE GIRLS TO STOP REPORTING INCIDENTS OF HARASSMENT BECAUSE IT MAKES THE SCHOOL LOOK BAD AND THE GIRLS LOOK LIKE COMPLAINERS

It’s important to note that what’s reported from individual students, other families, and/or the rumor mill may not represent what actually happened. That’s why we conduct formal investigations and get several statements from as many people as possible.

Please feel free to reach out to Dan or Peter with follow up questions. We continue to work hard to support students, staff and families in being safe and treating each other with respect and decency.

———- ooo ———-

THE PLANET will not comment on the memos except to say that we are struck by the vague and general tone. Of course, we realize that everything Dillon says must skirt the dicey legalisms involved in a case like this. Every word he or any of the principals involved say or write can be used in potential legal action.

And here, in case you missed them, we share some notable comments posted on THE PLANET in the past couple days:

From a Parent:

“You might want to ask them about an upcoming meeting with 7th grade parents and lawyers and why that has had to happen. Students have been under siege for a year and a half. The principal says nothing can be done unless there are reports, then some of the staff tells the girls not to report things because it makes them look bad.

“We don’t go there anymore and have moved to Pittsfield but the emails from parents detailing the horrors at that school are horrible.

“The state police were involved last year over child pornography at the school, racial bias attacks, and sexual assaults. Parents pull kids out on an ongoing basis because it’s not safe and the administration like Dan Weston and Peter Dillon are covering it up.

“They say it’s a rumor mill and things can’t be verified and the staff disputes the accounts, those are lies. Just like when they said a teacher who was assaulted left the school for an prior appointment, it was a lie, she left because she looked like she got hit by a car and needed medical attention.”

———- ooo ———-

From Mad Dad

My son goes to Richmond consolidated school. He has endured relentless bullying in 6th grade from a seventh grader. He’s been pushed to the ground and kicked, he’s had his projects and art damaged. He’s been called horrible names and was threatened to be killed a number of times.

He was told by one seventh grade student, the same student that has been bullying and assaulting others, that if the bully caught him in the bathroom, he’d my my son suck his dick after he fucked him in the ass. What 7th grader knows even to say that nevermind threaten that. This student sent out pornographic images of a young girl who was supposedly his girlfriend. He sent it out to dozens of students in Snapchat.

We’ve reported incidents to Dan Weston, Peter Dillon, their teacher, and Doug Wentworth who is the student adjustment councilor. Nothing has been done! Richmond used to be an excellent school but they’ve gone through three principals in a year and Peter Dillon doesn’t think he’s paid enough to care. When we spoke to Dan Weston he said he’s new and doesn’t know what to do. That’s not an excuse!!!

Some of the teachers are excellent but the administration and the support staff just don’t care. My son went to the office and the nurse because this student hit him in the head with a closed fist. When I asked to see the incident report they said there wasn’t one because my son said he fell. I asked him he told everyone he was hit, a para and a teacher saw it happen and sent him to the nurse.

The school is incompetent and they are covering something up. A number of parents have retained lawyers.

From Kermit Frog

“Mad Dad. I can’t even imagine how your son feels. This makes me sick to hear it.

I would say that the buck stops with the school (it autocorrected to fool lol) committee and the selectmen.

The current selectmen are up to their ass in alligators from all sorts of lawsuits related to their malfeasance. I have heard that Pilson is the root cause of a lot of this but Richmond School has a history of slyly pushing things under the carpet. Just look at the Good Schools reviews.

The ELA middle school teacher is an asset to the school. I don’t have recent experience with the school but have heard she is great. It is very sad.”

From Asdfghjkl

“I worked in Richmond and I don’t anymore. The administration purposely hid reports from students to hide the sexual assaults and bullying problem.

“It got so bad that I’d go home in tears knowing what was going on. I consulted a lawyer and was told I could be held criminally and civilly responsible if I participated. It was not hard to leave except I think I’ve failed my students.

“The administration didn’t care they called students liars and said they were ganging up on a child. They concealed videos of students being assaulted to cover up their incompetence.

“I still don’t know why they did this, what is so special about one child?”

From Lenox Works

“No it’s not there’s hundreds of emails and dozens of posts about it in Facebook forms for parents. There’s posts in a teachers private chat room about it. The staff is too afraid to stand up to administrators. We have friends still going through this a year and a half later! Pittsfield might be better at handling bad kids because they have more of them. This kid is a product of Pittsfield and shitty parents but Pittsfield got rid of him so they are smarter.”

From UrMom

“Richmond was a hidden gem for years. I worked my tail off to get my two kids in there. I paid for 2 years of pre-school to insure our spot. I was a champion for RCS. I worked as a sub/ para/ lunchlady while my kids were young. Just to be close to them. The school was AMAZING. Then they lost Monica, now they are on their 4th principal in 3 years. The place is a shitshow. The wonderful teachers are still doing good work in the midst of chaos. Rather than focus on the issue, the Super is circling the wagons and worried about PR.

“I know. I was there. I yanked my daughter because of the crazy unsafe conditions. You can whine, but you ain’t right”

———- ooo ———-

Our hunch is that the story is far from over. If we hear of new developments, we’ll let you in on it.

With that, have a great weekend, everybody.

Not sure who wrote that “hot off the telegraph” post, but may I suggest a basic 4th grade English class? They teach sentence structure and basic formatting in that class. Both of these key components are missing; therefore, I cannot make heads or tails of what you posted Lev.

News flash: off Dan’s topic. Can’t believe the news today. Times are crazy. Global warming protestors stormed berkshire gas; saying cease carbonning. Stop now! (Meanwhile other pollution is overlooked) [full stop] BG is supposed to develop a plan to be out by 2050. That plan must be in two languages [full stop]. It costs a Lotta money to edit the politicians. [full stop] Strange times are upon us. End of days is near. Read the Bible because you are running out of time. [full stop] you can not find these details in the Berkshire Eagle.

Sorry. First time sending telegram. Time short – words matter!

Berkshire Eagle reports: anticarbonists storm Berkshire Gas demanding a complete cessation of selling gas. They demand they instead sell forks, knives, carpets, etc…( Anything but gas.) Or is ‘green’ energy such as wood good? Deforesting all Eastern USA to stubble and no trees for acid rain, pollution, and heat is probably ok if doing so ends natural gas, which has become ‘dirty.’ (It was ‘clean’ in 1990).

Also, Boston fruitloops mandate BG submit plan by 2022 laying out how Berk Gas shall cease operations by 2050. Creative project for Berk Gas – they will have to pile money into this deadline and pass on the bill. Also, it’s kind of like making Toyota propose a plan by 2022 to cease engines. Problem! How would Berk. Gas even know who would be around in 2050 to execute the VIP plan from the ancient past? Would future mutations of humanity even be able to read the report?

The rest should be decipherable – I’m out of time. If it’s hard and bothersome – don’t bother yourself. Not important – means nothing! I’m just commenting some scale of remarbable stupidity.

I will write it again. Bring in School Resource (Police) Officers. Bring in Social Workers. Bring in legal Mediators and investigators. Start Peer Support Groups. Hold Parent meetings with Public School Officials and Teachers. Have troubled students meet with School Adjustment Counselors and treat child and teenage mental health disorders. Teach the boys and girls about sexual appropriateness in schools and have a safe way for them to report sexual misconduct. And implement a culture where everybody is ALWAYS treated with fairness and safety. Stop the bureaucratic nonsense of CYA so that only the bureaucracy is safe and gets paid by the proverbial Kapanski family whose children are unsafe.

And who’s going to bare that expense for all those social workers, legal mediators, and investigators, JM?

How about just going back to the way things were, pre “wokeness?” When kids, it didn’t matter if they were YT, black, or green, caused a disruption, they were removed from the class and possibly school, until they either changed the behavior or were banished from school.

But in today’s day and age, children of color can do no wrong, according to the brain-powers of Linda, Wrong Way, Farley Country-Buffet (D). They make excuses for them and blame the teachers. You are witnessing the results. As these kids grow up and are allowed to continuously act up and have excuses already made at the ready for their behavior, does Linda, Wrong Way, or TFCB (D), actually believe they will one day wake up and start behaving? No, they are the ones dealing drugs, shooting and stabbing, and causing chaos, in adult life.

May I suggest Linda, Wrong Way, Farley Country-Buffet (D), take a sociology class or two? It will help to explain to them what happens when groups of people are allowed to act up without consequences and what the end result will be. It might open their eyes.

The school is hiding behind FERPA and trying to say they didn’t know. That students and parents didn’t notify the school or the complaints weren’t credible. It’s a lie. The administration knew of problems since august of 2020.
Sexual assaults
Violent beatings
Verbal sexual harassment
Kids getting spit on
Name calling Nword and antisemitic slurs

The one para told students not to complain, she looks bad if there are complaints.
The now seventh grade has been a really good class until the beginning of the 2020 school year when sixth grade started and a problem student entered that school year.
Peter Dillon, Jill Pompi, Robert Putnam, Dan Weston haven’t address the problems at all. They are blaming victims and calling them liars. The girls are not liars the have been harassed and assaulted, the boys are not lying when they say they are getting attacked. All of these students go to school afraid of what’s going to happen each day
Rachel Kanz got hurt and left the school because a student injured her. The school lies.
The school has been lying to parents.
The staff has been told to delete anything that was reported that isn’t verifiable. That makes it look like there wasn’t a lot of reporting.
Richmond is a dangerous school thanks to Peter Dillon. People don’t want to work for him Berkshire Hills has a hiring problem for a reason, Peter Dillon.
Lenox, for its problems is a much safer school district.

Lenox has its own problems. The bottom line is leadership in the schools.People are hired as principles to squash the problems. If a teacher is assaulted verbally or physically Administration’s are to not back the teacher or staff and tells them they are on their own.All principles understand the way up the ladder is complete denial hoping everything goes away……The administration building is full of this kind of educator……exposing the dirty secret of all schools.Joe Curtis refuses to walk the schools with problems…….. The school system is the direct result of the Superintendent who leads it.The individual school is the direct result of the principle who leads it and those principles are handpicked by the Superintendent…..Violence is accepted in the schools. We just have to look at the last 4 years in DC watching the violence of Don Trump in response to our last election. Its the leaders who accept this crap and its spreads to others who should know better…..Lying is now the American way.

You are correct. Barry Sotero started the “Great Racial Divide,” in 2009. It resulted from the Henry Louis Gates arrest. Gates, a Harvard prof, was arrested by Cambridge Police that day. This was the “beer summit.”

Before the facts of the case was settled, Barry immediately piped in about “race and law enforcement,” and offered his opinion. He continued with “he could be my son,” in regards to the Trayvon Martin shooting by George Zimmerman. Zimmerman was not even a police officer. He was a neighborhood watch zealot. Good ole Sotero made sure to lump Zimmerman in with the rest of law enforcement.

Then look at the Michael Brown shooting. Again, Sotero offered his racist opinion against the police in this case. Once the DOJ did their investigation, it showed Brown’s DNA inside the front, drivers side are of the vehicle, proving Brown was in the police cruiser attacking the officer. Did Barry apologize? Hell no he didn’t.

Then Michelle Obama talked about “white flight,” when she and Barry bought their $14M spread on the Cape. The problem, there was no “white flight” when those two moved in there.

Racism is the only play democRATS have no. Look locally in Pittsfield. With all of the issues going on in the city, is a Director of Diversity and Exclusion (to YT’s) really needed?

Well Dan, you did a nice job here organizing and recapitulating what has been posted about this topic over past several days here, with the addition of Dillion’s non answer answer. I hope the end result is the truth, and if the school admin has been dropping the ball, your big kick in the pants causes them to straighten up and fly right. To his credit ,at least he got back to you, unlike Pittsfield politicians and higher ups. And to his credit and the principal’s at least they responded in writing twice, to the parents, albeit in a generalissimo and legalese manner.

Let’s all remember we are living in a world of social media mstruths, half truths, and innuendo, where any idiot with an iPhone the government paid for can rile up a community with a bunch of hearsay, which is not admissible in court for a reason. Today it’s Cindy Bartlett who is thrown under the bus, and who is a fine person who has done much for people and animals in this community. Tomorrow it could be you or your loved one disparaged on a blog.

Facts people, facts. Let’s stick to facts. Fact is, if problem student is a Pittsfield choicer that explains it all right there.

Have a nice weekend everybody and like Joe Friday said, just the facts ma’am.

You provide a very valuable forums here General Valenti. I do hope your posters remember we are dealing with real people here, who deserve to be treated with truth in posting. Richmond is a great community with a great school and I take umbrage with some of the alleged facts posted here that are dragging Richmond into Pittsfield’s gutter.

Joe, get a grip man. It’s a fact that Dan recapitulated what has been posted about Richmond, and it is clear he did a good job with it. It is a fact that Dillion got back to Dan, and that the principal and the superintnedant wrote the parents, if we are to believe the cut and pasted letters from other posters. It is also true that government pays for phones for layabouts, and that anybody can post anything anonomously on the internet. It is also a fact that several posters here are disparaging Cindy Bartlett, without first hand knowledge of what she alledgedly told the students – there is zero evidence that she told a student not to report a sexual assault. It is also a fact that Cindy does a lot for the Berkshires and the animals, through her work with kids at Bousquet’s and through her volunteer work at Berkshire Humane Society. It is also factual that Richmond Consolidated School is one of the best schools in the state, by any measure. Google it if you don’t believe me. Lastly, any average idiot knows that Pittsfield is in the gutter and that Dan has provided a very valuable forum here for years, to shed light on Pittsfield’s dark side, which is hidden to the best of the mainstream media’s and PIttsfield’s policitians abilities. I hope this answers your question Joe.

In reference to Dillion’s “responsive” letter to you Dan:

How exactly is Dillon’s response responsive? Seems to me there are one too many “always” used in his letter, and he fed you a word salad with some bland dressing. How are these “incidents” actually investigated? When is an incident not an incident, in other words, what makes it an investigable incident? What disciplinary laws is he referring to? What chapter and sections of Mass General Laws? What does “always fully investigated “ mean exactly? Who does the investigations? What kind of training do these investigators have? What is FERPA? What privacy laws? Chapter and section please. By the way, lots of totally unnecessary capitol letters in his letter, such as “Massachusetts Privacy Laws” and “the District”. Let’s hope he didn’t major in English. What exactly does it take to get a bad little Johnny booted for good from school, for good?

In reference to principal’s first letter to parents:

Another word salad. Why not just tell the parents what happened, such as two students had a fistfight, or whatever? Tellingly, the letter had another “always” and states that the students “not involved in the conflict were moved to a nearby classroom so that the school staff could continue to deescalate the students involved.” Were I the principal, I would have personally removed the students involved, to my office, and left the other students alone.

What are the progressive discipline measures that are consistent the RCS Code of Conduct? And if you have “zero tolerance” for physical aggression, what does it take for physical aggression to end in Little Johnny getting removed from school”

In reference to the second word salad letter to parents, with more “always”:

it would be instructive for us Kapanskis to see the referenced flow charts, so us little people can actually see what it takes to boot a bad apple (pun intended) from school for good.

“It’s important to note that what’s reported from individual students, other families, and/or the rumor mill may not represent what actually happened. That’s why we conduct formal investigations and get several statements from as many people as possible”

Who is “we”? Who is conducting these investigations? What training do these people have? They should not be getting statements from anyone but witnesses. And how are they taking these statements? Are they just interviews, are they written, or are they recorded?

“Richmond Consolidated School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or homelessness.”

Wow, on what basis do they discriminate then? This country is nuts, when blanket, cover your ass statements like that have to be included at the bottom of letters to satisfy the lefty loons. At least the prince and the super didn’t sign off with He/His or They as their personal pronouns at the end of their letter.

And does anyone actually know why there has been such a high turnover in principals?

Well that’s a troubling defense.

Also, it’s a small town/area. Who is the kid? Who is the family? People need to stop the polite bullshit and PC niceties and call these people out. You’d get a much bigger response putting everything out in the open instead of sweeping it under the rug, identities included.

If this was all created by one student why weren’t they removed and sent to the day program Hillcrest runs? Why weren’t reports sent to the state to get DCF involved? Or are they already involved and that’s the issue? From what the teachers I have talked to, since the Pandemic and Zoom teaching the kids don’t know how to be students anymore. They seem to be acting several years younger than when the Pandemic started. I disagree with the poster who wants to add more layers of government into the schools. The way out is to remove the child and get them the support they need to become a more civilized individual. If this person isn’t worked on now they will become a problem to the civilized citizens for the rest of their lives.

Unbelievable 8 hour speech from Kevin McCarthy laying out just how bad this spending bill is that Democrats tried to push through last night. It is delayed until today, but so many horrible things are in this bill that Democrats want to celebrate. No low cost drug options for seniors in the future (no concern for those 80 and over and how long they live), spying on banks accounts of those who spend over $28.00 per day so they can take your money, huge tax breaks for the rich who buy expensive Tesla vehicles while Americans are saddled with high gas prices, Green New Deal (Trillions going to China) which will end up in the loss of private property, and the Republicans are still telling Americans just how bad this bill will be for huge bureaucracy and loss of freedom in this country.

What Pat refers to derives from the Theory of the Long Tail:(you can buy a used copy if you haven’t already read it.)

“Nearly 50 percent of the audits—over 583,000—would be targeted at families earning less than $75,000, and 25 percent—over 313,000—at those earning up to $25,000 per year. According to the memo penned by Republican members of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, $80 billion is allotted in mandatory funding towards the IRS, which will help in recruiting 87,000 new agents who will target Americans at every income level.”

Why would the IRS bother the 1% who earned nothing and have no cash when there’s the rest of us using dollars every day?

You cribbing quotes from some GOP memo reveals that you know nothing about the bank account proposal. Its last iteration involved banks reporting accounts with more than $10000 in deposits and withdrawals in a year, excluding regular paychecks and government checks.

If you have a $1 million going through your bank account in a year, but report only $50k in income, then that’s a red flag for tax evasion. The IRS already knows how much wage earners make because they receive a W-2.

Apparently, you favor tax evasion and haven’t the foggiest idea wha you’re talking about.

Our friends have children in Richmond in 5th and 8th grade. The school can’t say they don’t know because the entire community has been talking about this since last year.
The 8th grade class was disciplined and the 8th grade boys were blamed for someone writing Fuck the N-word in the boys bathroom. A kid in 7th grade did it but the 8th graders paid the price.
We don’t even have kids and we’ve heard a lot of the same stories. Kids were getting stabbed by needles by this same kid last year.
What kind of scumbag tells little girls not to report sexual assaults? That teacher should lose her license and be in jail. Does this school have a nurse? Why didn’t she file reports? I’d fire the whole lot of them. That para and the nurse should be in jail.
A lot of credit goes to you Dan, I bet the Eagle won’t touch this story or will do an expose on the music program instead.

In all my years this is one of the most disturbing things I’ve read.
To the parents of victims, file police reports.
Child pornography goes way beyond what a school can handle. Contact the state police immediately. Tell your children not to share the images because they will become party to the crime, accessory after the fact. They can keep the images for evidentiary reasons but should talk with the state police immediately. You’ll be instructed what to do.
Only then, after transferring the images to the authorities should you delete the images. File police reports against the staff involved. The superintendent, principal(s), adjustment counselor, nurse, staff who ignored the reports or discouraged reporting.
The state police will be very reluctant to take the reports but make the attempt and document it if they do or don’t. They will try and push you back to the school.
It’s Berkshire county, half these people are related. About four years ago a staff member at that school threatens to burn down the house of her former lover/staff member.
That entire case disappeared and the Eagle was publishing softball pieces on the Richmond food program. Great program if you don’t mind death threats.
These reports all outline criminal behavior on the part of the superintendent, principal, school nurse, and para. These are violations of Title IX, federal law, state law, and can rise to civil rights violations. The school has a minimum mandatory duty of care. They are also mandated reporters and are required to report incidents of sexual assault to the authorities. They have no say as to credibility, they are not the investigative body.
Covering up criminal activity in schools is nothing new, schools trying to protect their reputation while ignoring sexual assaults is what schools do. They’ve perverted FERPA and made it a weapon against victims.
I hope Legal Eagle chimes in on this.
If you want your children to be really safe, pull them out of school.

This is a superb post, Expert.
I would only add that it’s well known it’s almost always the coverup that most hurts reputations, institutions and communities. It’s also almost always the “best” schools with reputation to protect that are the worst offenders, e.g. those that don’t participate in the anti-bullying program because “We don’t have a bullying problem.”
In general, children must be taught by example to be open, honest and direct. Schools are regularly faced with problem situations that can happen for a whole host of reasons. How the adults respond every day, whether contacting the proper authorities in a timely manner or addressing the issues regularly and openly with the community is how a reputation is built. One need only look now at how much damage has been created by adults apparently not following procedures. Of course, we don’t know this to be true but this board and others are filled with too many accusations for there to not be some truth. Overall, it’s far less likely that people start talking if things are properly reported in the first place so investigation can happen as they should, rather than in response to this kind of hue of cry.

My son was assaulted by this student, they covered it up. He told the nurse and the principal, a teacher and a para so it happen. They saw a gigantic bully hit my son in the head with a closed fist. This kid outweighs my son by 100 lbs.
The para sent him to the nurse, he told the nurse he was punched and by whom.
When I went to the school and asked what they were going to do about it, the nurse and principal said there was nothing to do because my son fell.
He said in the office in front of two adults that’s not what I said I told you I was punched. The school is covering up for this kid.
Even if you want to make it seem like people are lying, just look at the letters home about incidents appending in the 7th grade. It says a teacher was pushed, the part they are lying about is why she left. She left because she was hurt and needed medical attention. The only liars here are the school staff.

They knew he didn’t fall he was punched in the head and two staff saw that happen because they ran over and made the kid that punched him walk away. They even said to my son there on the playground they were sorry he got punched but then it didn’t make it into the record? That’s a coverup.
The staff is supposed to be protecting the students but they only are protecting this one kid from getting in trouble.

In 2012, he was first called out in this article on the mayhem he creates, “Richmond resident Craig Swinson, who posts as DJ Bloom, Alex Denova, MrEatFirstAskLater and other prolific troll aliases on local forums, used it as a gleeful opening to resume his vengeance for whatever feelings of rejection he harbors against the local cultural scene, betraying his obvious hurt-kid grudges by referring to a random teen scuffle as “Megan’s Mess.” (https://ipittsfield.wordpress.com/2012/05/20/never-a-dull-week-in-pittsfield/). Not sure why these things get to the point they do. I guess its terrible leadership. The one selectmen is a friend of the Eagle editor and rarely anything gets in there that he doesn’t approve or is powerless to stop. Its just Richmond PR usually.

All the teachers should be fired if the reports are true that the abuse has been the subject of wide spread debate as they all are mandatory reporters.

For those who say Richmond is one of the best schools in the state – I guess they did their education in Berkshire Co and can’t count. It ranks 300th plus out of 900 elementary schools and gets as much $$$ per pupil as Deerfield and is tiny, less that 200 kids. They have a self selecting group of high achieving kids who would do well anywhere but only 1/2 meet state math basic standards. But then again people in Berkshire Co can’t read numbers apparently. They do only OK when everything is in their favor and crap the bed with the smallest challenge. Arrogance maybe?

Usually when there is this much smoke there is fire. I know the hot headed lunch lady story and why Monica quit or was fired. I can’t imagine any of this new stuff isn’t true. I guess we don’t know what is missing. Are we saying the alternative is the parents are all a bunch of Karens?

Muddy Brook doesn’t have the good test scores of RCS but is considered safe and happy by most parents isn’t it? Same Super.

One thing I do know is that no one gets in under school choice unless they have a rabbi – that can be a political connection or a school committee connection. So brass tacks is who is the problem maker connected to?

I have a question, if the school can’t comment on individual personal matters wtf is this?

“A teacher intervened in to deescalate the conflict. In the process, one student made physical contact with the teacher in attempt to get past them. This was of great concern to many of our students. That staff member left school shortly after the incident for a previously scheduled appointment.”

That’s Rachel Kanz the ELA teacher for the middle school and social studies teacher for 7th grade.

That wasn’t a “previously scheduled appointment” that was because she got shoved so hard by a 200lb 7th grader she got really hurt!

But if the school can’t comment, why are they only commenting to lie?

Don’t expect much from the police, Andrea Harrington was on the school board that hired Peter Dillon. Then she pulled her kids out of the school. She pulled a TFB.

“It’s important to note that what’s reported from individual students, other families, and/or the rumor mill may not represent what actually happened. That’s why we conduct formal investigations and get several statements from as many people as possible.”

The Effing FBI is too busy chasing after parents that speak up at school board meetings. If you parents speak up to the Richmond School Board, then the FBI will investigate you as domestic terrorists. So if you want the infamous FBI involved, speak up at a school committee meeting. Then they will open a file, on you.

Pelosi is dancing in the streets with her Communist friends in Chinatown and tells them they are so close to getting trillions of money going to China for building all of this climate change equipment. It just has to pass the Senate. China is seeing visions of lots of money as is good old Nance from all of her investing in electric vehicles which she will now force the rich to buy to keep their taxes low.

Let’s not take this incident out of context. The whole area where he lived was on fire with violence. No, he shouldn’t have been there and I think most people agree on that. His mother should have forbidden him to go out into the violence in the streets, but since city leaders weren’t doing their jobs and just letting violence get out of control, this young man went out that night to protect property. Stupid idea, but the adults weren’t doing it, but he was in way over his head. The adults were saying they didn’t want police. The adults were letting the children act like adults. It was a sick situation all around and had NOTHING to do with President Trump. President Trump wanted to stop the violence in these cities, but the far left Dems wanted the chaos and they still do.

She left because she was being micromanaged and second-guessed by the superintendent. Everyday it was something.
She was new to being a principal but knew how to relate to students. She didn’t like what was happening with discipline problems and tried to make changes but she’d get shut down by Peter.
It’s the same thing that happened to Monica.
The two men that came after Robert Putnam was just a planned interim and Dan Weston is going to do what he’s told.
Peter likes his principal’s dumb and compliant.

This is not true. Monica left because of the fall out from the lunch lady situation and also the behaviors in the building were too much for her to get a grasp on within the 8th grade. She lost most of the staff’s support and sadly, the school unraveled under her leadership. Jill came in and did a remarkable job. The pandemic and the ugliness this all caused from parents to staff is why she left. She wanted to go back and work with kids. Dan is not working out and is in over his head. He has made missteps and should go back to teaching.

People on the far left in this country want to spread the lie that there is nothing that isn’t aboveboard and open and honest in this country. Even on this board people are saying what aren’t you free to do. They turn a blind eye to what is going on in Berkshire County schools and how the media is hiding it all, locally and around the country. Parents being denied their rights to question the schools without being called domestic terrorists and first amendment rights under attack, CRT in the schools, and very explicit sexual education being taught in the schools. Not to mention the upcoming restrictions on freedom if the massive social spending bill is passed in the Senate.

November 20, 2021

Hello Erin Leahy at Act on Mass,

Thank you for your weekly Saturday email about Beacon Hill politics. My response to your political email today (20-November-2021) is that Massachusetts state lawmakers are wrong to be taking their 7-week-long taxpayer-funded vacation from 18-November-2021 to 4-January-2022. I found it interesting that during the 7-week-long informal session, the secretive State House and State Senate leaders will be making all of the public’s decisions, while the rest of the 200 state lawmakers will home. If laws pass during this time period, there will be no public record of how the few powerful state lawmakers voted. That is NOT democracy, but rather it is what happens in China and Russia.

For over 4.5-months and counting, Beacon Hill lawmakers have been sitting on $10 billion in cash, while many state and local public services are underfunded throughout Massachusetts. Governor Charlie Baker wanted to spend the $10 billion in cash, but the Beacon Hill lawmakers saw the money and they became greedy so they took most of it away from Governor Charlie Baker’s control, and then they did nothing. The Boston Globe published an editorial calling out Beacon Hill’s Epic Failure! The Boston Globe wrote that many state governments have already spent their Biden Bucks, while Massachusetts has done little to nothing with the money.

Public Policy is NOT rocket science! Massachusetts needs to fund public and affordable housing, build and maintain its public infrastructure, invest in 21st Century technology and train young adults in 21st Century living wage jobs, fully fund public education, provide critical funding to hospitals and healthcare clinics, including mental health services, provide funding for police, fire and other public safety departments, help the poor, disabled and Veterans, grant state aid dollars to cities and towns, and so on.

In the year 2021, we witnessed a K-shaped economic recovery/recession whereby the Elites did remarkably well, while the rest of us either treaded water or sunk into the underclass. The 700 to 800 U.S. billionaires collectively made trillions of dollars in income, the Swamp passed the most expensive spending bill(s) in U.S. history without raising the needed revenue to pay for it all, Wall Street recorded record high indices, and so on, while Main Street hit rock bottom. U.S. inflation is at a 30 year high, which is worse than any state or federal tax on the working class and underclass. Our country is more politically divided now that at any point since the U.S. Civil War, while the Elites are all making money hand over fist. I believe it is the old “Divide and Conquer” strategy we learned about in history class.

When someone like me writes to politicians, I never receive a response unless it is a form letter that everyone receives. But if I was a K Street lobbyist firm filling a politician’s campaign coffers and other PACs with a lot of special interest dollars, the politicians would send me a Christmas cards. I know that someone like me doesn’t count in the eyes of the Elites.

If I sold a painting, I would not make $500,000 like Hunter Biden. If I published a book about my history of bad boy behaviors, I would not make millions of dollars like Hunter Biden. If I went to Ukraine, Russia and China and allegedly money laundered many millions of foreign dollars, I would not be walking free like Hunter Biden. If I had at least 5 children by at least 3 women, I would not be as well regarded by society as Hunter Biden. If I, as a man in my mid-40s, got a young woman stripper pregnant and lied to a Judge by saying I wasn’t the father of the stripper’s baby, I would not be treated as well as Hunter Biden in a court of law after taking a court ordered paternity test that proved Hunter Biden was the father. But, I am not the son of then Vice President and now U.S. President Joe Biden, who is worth tens of millions of dollars thank to his Biden “Crime” Family.

Lastly, on climate change, I found it humorous that the young adults of the world called out the ruling elites for only spewing more hot air at the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, Scotland. The wealthy and powerful gathered in Scotland to limit greenhouse gas pollution, which they make a lot of money from, and the end result was more hot air by the rich and powerful buffoons of the world.

Best wishes,

Jonathan Melle

Back in the day, when the police actually came out in force when riots were on the horizon, none of this would have happened, because the scum bags Kyle killed would never have been in a position to attack him. Back in the day, mayors and governors actually cared about whether or not their cities were burned and robbed.

The corrupt media in this country continues to go after Kevin McCarthy’s brilliant over 8 hours speech. He was rambling, he had the nerve to hold up the precious vote, he was channeling Trump according to the corrupt media in this country. No mention of the actual context of the speech because that would expose the media and the far left for the fraud they are perpetrating on this country. Who wouldn’t ramble in their speech after over 8 hours? Most people couldn’t even stand up that long, but good old Pelosi did an 8 hour speech years ago, but of course the media hides that fact, but they thought it extraordinary at the time.

I disagree. It accomplished the goal of letting people know what’s in the bill, something that the far left wants to hide from the public. Pelosi even said that the media needs to promote the bills and tell the public what’s in them because she had neither the time nor the desire to do so. Pelosi knows the media is on her side so the media is also hiding the contents of the bills just like she is doing. Pelosi was just passing the buck. Do you find magic in these massive bills that the far left wants passed? Or do you see, like most Americans do, that this massive amount of money will break our country, not to mention the the craziness contained in the bills. Massive amount of money to China for climate change equipment and spying on Americans bank accounts because these bills are NOT paid for as Biden falsely claims.

Because you always look like a fool when you tell the American people the truth? McCarthy needed to let Americans know what’s in those bills, something that the far left wants to hide.
