The woke idiots on Beacon Hill might want to adapt that slogan: “Take a bath, and leave the driving to the illegals.”
The Massachusetts House, in a February 120-36 vote, approved the euphemistically named “The Work and Family Mobility Act.” We The People know it as giving criminal gate crashers to the U.S. the “right” to drive. The Senate followed suit, 32-8. Lame Duck Gov. Charlie Baker (or “Charlie Parker,” as Syracuse Joe calls him) vetoed, knowing both houses would override.
Bicameral in Massachusetts means two houses, lockstep votes, liberal loon variety. Naturally, all five of Berkshire Country’s alleged state reps voted for this lunacy.
What do you think the vote would be if somehow all LEGAL citizens, including immigrants who came to this country by following the proper steps, were asked if they supported criminals being granted this fundamental privilege? A 2019 Harvard/Harris poll found that 72% of respondents opposed the measure, including 58% of Democrats.
Since early this year, THE PLANET has been conducting our own research. We began in March and ended in May with out 100th inquiry. In a highly unscientific but representative poll, 91 of the 100 were opposed with 9 in favor. Conclusion: Bay State politicians are in the stranglehold of the extremist Left and grossly out of step with Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski.
The Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance opposes the measure. It’s Mission Statement: “Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance advocates for fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability in state government and increased economic opportunity for the people of our Commonwealth.”
On a scale of 0 to 100%, MassFiscal rates Pignatelli, Mark, Farley-Bouvier, and Barrett each with its lowest score possible on fiscal responsibility: 0%. Zeeee Row. Nothing. Nada. F-. Hinds scores a whopping 9%. Thus, out of a possible 500%, our local Profiles in Courage on Beacon Hill combine for a total of 9%. Amazing — both this horrible performance by these bums but also how they keep “winning” elections, often unopposed. This indicates the complete apathy these clowns along with a generation of failed city leaders have injected into Berkshire County.

Did any of the do-gooders who think so little of citizenship consider the supreme irony with that Maynard G. Krebs word “word,” given that illegal aliens cannot lawfully work in the United States?
Did any of them consider that in 2020, the cost of illegals to the U.S. taxpayers was conservatively estimated at $132 billion? That number is surely much higher today. Do the per diem. It comes to more than $360,000,000 a day, $15 million an hour, or $250,000 a second, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, for an entire year.
Did any of them express even a bit of concern how the illegals have openly and with their help undermined federal immigration laws? These provisions safeguard the integrity of the United States as a sovereign country. They are meant to ensure the integrity of our borders, for with safe borders, you really don’t HAVE a country. Given the Biden-Harris-Pelosi refusal to stem the hemorrhaging of America’s southwest border, we can truthfully state that the America that we grew up in no longer exists.
The House will probably override Baker’s veto today, with the Senate following no long after. Baker, MassFiscal, and other have raised these objections:
- The Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) does not have the expertise or ability to verify identification documents from other countries.
- The bill undoes reforms previously enacted by Gov. Baker designed to make MA drivers licenses more secure; and
- The bill specifically prevents the RMV from sharing citizenship and immigration status with the state entities tasked with ensuring only citizens register to vote.
- It will also undermine election integrity in the Bar State, if there even is such a thing.
So send your telegrams of congratulations to the Gang of Five — Pignatelli, Mark, Farley-Bouvier, Barrett, and Hinds — for being obedient little back benchers to the Bosses.

Dan, to make matters worse, a person who is getting a drivers license is automatically registered to vote. It used to be you had to opt in to be registered. Not anymore. Since 2020 the applicant has to opt out. If the applicant doesn’t opt out they automatically registered as an independant (unenrolled) voter.

His platform was “decarceration.” In a big city like San Francisco with an unGodly ammount of drugs his office convicted 3 people on the charge of possession with intent to sell for meth, heroin and cocaine. The fair and progressive DA publicly endorsed by our DA was recalled in the most liberal city in the country. At least voters in California appear to have some brains.
Watch now while DA Harrington pivots and tries to make attempts to appear tough on crime after selling criminal justice reform at the expense of public safety for over 3 years. Watch how Harrington backs off on her drug consumption sites which did nothing to change the open use and sale of drugs on the streets in San Francisco but only made things worse than the 70’s. Fentanyl killed 500 people in San Francisco last year, yet Harrington’s heroic DA Chesa Boudin barely secured a single conviction for selling fentanyl during all of 2021. According to the CDC the US homicide rate has risen to its highest level in over 25 years, with the largest increase coming from Black males aged 10–44 years. So I ask this. What the heck is Shirley Edgerton doing supporting Andrea Harrington? How does it support the lives of people in her community? It appears that Harrington has promised Edgerton the win for her community is that defendants won’t be held pre-trial. Does Shirley Edgerton not care care that drugs are killing people in her community or that homicides mostly effect black males? It just doesn’t add up. But here you have it:
“We need DA Harrington to reduce pretrial jail time where individuals’ lives spiral downward [by] losing jobs and housing, setting up a scenario of desperation,” Edgerton added.
If the DA wants to get tough on crime, she’s got a long steep learning curve ahead of her.
I believe Shirley keeps close to Wrong Way, for the privileged information she receives. This information, is more than likely a heads up on any active police investigations into a few members of her families criminal ways (drugs/weapons).
I also believe she’s keeping tabs on any complaints that might get lodged against her and Warren Dews, in regards to how that $700,000 is being spent. Not to mention, state law usually has conflict of interest laws in regards to financial gifts by government officials to relatives and/or current city employees. Warren’s wife Roberta is Flat Tyer’s secretary and Shirley is the DIE chief for the failing Pittsfield school system.

In a county with rampant violence and drug crime, the top cop in Berkshire County’s biggest and most vocal local supporter is someone who job is to advocate only for black people’s rights – which is 3.6% of the population. Why does this person get any attention? She’s like an old-school ward boss who doles out money and jobs to a very few people and that’s why she is “important.” Where are the measurable results of the money given to Shirley Edgerton? Show us the data!!

I think we all know why they voted to give illegals DL’s. Simply to vote. As far as this being a “right to work” act. How does it get around needing a Federal I-9 form, to verify eligibility to work in the US? Every legitimate job I have ever had from day one, I had to fill out an I-9 and provide a DL and my social security card. Having a DL wouldn’t do. This disapproves that myth.

Local paper has one more article on opioid deaths in Berkshire county. And once again they gave county numbers instead of Pittsfield numbers. Typical scrubbing of bad news in Pittsfield but because they do this you know it is bad. So I just assume that 95 percent of them occurred in Pittsfield. Why does Pittsfield feel like it has to hide so much?
They are too embarrassed to be open and honest and I am embarrassed for the whole city. Just how many clowns can you fit into this corner office without the walls busting apart?
And now we learn that millions of dollars are spent annually on nips in Shittsfield, Taxachusetts, and God forbid city ban their sale, because it’s all about equity, harm reduction and portion control and not because they are nipping and driving and tossing empties out the window. Nip bottles on side of road are just another Sihittsfield coincidence!

I hear that the Harrington cabal has decided drug courts don’t provide “harm reduction” and “criminalize substance use” and so they have abandoned them. They “stigmatize” and insist on “abstinence-based” recovery. WTF, yes this is a thing! The media should be looking into this.No more drug courts according to the progressive playbook but Andrea Harrington campaigned on it. So which is it?

Dalton: 2017-2020 (zero OD deaths), 3 deaths (2021) *3 total deaths
Cheshire: 1, 3, 0, 2, 3 *9 total deaths
Great Barrington: 0, 2, 1, 3, 0 *6 total deaths
Hinsdale: 0, 0, 1, 3, 0 *4 total deaths
Lee: 3, 2, 0, 2, 3 *10 total deaths
Lenox: 2, 0, 0, 2, 0 *4 total deaths
North Adams: 5, 2, 10, 13, 9 *39 total deaths
Pittsfield: 13, 19, 21, 22, 33 *108 total deaths

From those 10 towns or cities I listed on this list from Berkshire County, there were a total of 199 opioid overdose deaths.
The vibrant, dynamic, and inclusive city of Pittsfield, almost tripled the death total of North Adams. Pittsfield accounted for 54.2% of the OD death rate for Berkshire County. North Adams was second with 19.5%.
To put in perspective, here are the OD death totals for Holyoke: 13, 14, 16, 21, 23 *87 total deaths.

Another obfuscation is that they spread the numbers over a “dozen” years. Kind of dilutes the fact that over two thirds of the deaths were in the last FIVE years. They do spin well, I will give them credit for that.
Another factor is that a number of key people retired – from the DA’s office, the drug task force, etc. so it quickly became known that dealers could come here from elsewhere and work with impunity. Presto, overdoses. Couple that with negative job growth,poor government, crap education. Pittsfield is a city that is in a perpetual state of decline. It is only beatn by North Adams with no jobs, horrible housing. NA is second to the top worst in Mass. next to Springfield according to Money magazine.
