KRONICK’s PETITION RE: ‘HOUSELESSNESS’ REVEALS THE INEPTITUDE OF COUNCIL COLLEAGUES, FLAT’s ADMINISTRATION

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION OCT. 7-9, 2022) — At the previous meeting of our Right Honorable Good Friends, the Ward 2 member introduced the following:

A petition from Councilor Kronick requesting to postpone all future funding requests and grant approvals by the Parks Department until the enforcement of prohibiting camps in Springside Park is addressed.

One would have thought Sir Charles had asked for anthrax to be showered on the dais. Councilors 9-1 parroted the mayor’s views (Maffuccio absent):

“Flat no like, we no like.”

No one knows how many of Peter White’s “houseless” live in the city. Pete can’t say. He’s busy taking pictures of his pork chops.  “Houseless” people can’t be counted. It’s a problem going back to Buddha: “What is the sound of the census not knocking on a house door that doesn’t exist.”

Massachusetts is first in the nation in (a) percentage of homeless women, 49.7% (31% nationwide) and (b) highest for 18 years old and under, 39.8%. Pittsfield, therefore, Pittsfield must be much worse than the state numbers. [Source: psydprograms.com]

———- ooo ———-

“Houselessness” is not a problem. It’s a symptom. Do-gooders don’t know this, and, believing it’s a problem, offer “solutions” including:

  • shelter
  • life-skills instruction
  • vocational training
  • services provided by “non-profit” agencies (wink, wink/nudge nudge)
  • city programs
  • warming centers
  • sanctioned encampments
  • transition services
  • rent subsidies
  • God know what else.

Cost to Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski of one “houseless” per year? $100,079 — almost as much as Shirley Edgerton makes in a day feeding at the public trough. Almost as much as White spends dining out in a week.

While each “houseless” costs the Kapanskis for $100Gs a year, the number of homeless people in our community continues to grow. Cost to the Kapanskis: Approximately $10 million.

Bottom line: Pittsfield’s “response” is not working.

Enter Sir Charles.

———- ooo ———-

Kronick’s petition takes another approach. Since these services have failed, taxpayers should withhold all Parks Department money until Flat and the Dais get off their bottoms and deal.

Citizens, taxpayers, and businesses are sick of it. “Houselessness” is:

  • unhealthy
  • dangerous
  • costly
  • bad for businesses

It:

  • Suppresses tourism
  • fuels addiction
  • attracts gangs
  • draws drug traffickers
  • ruins businesses

Society can’t afford it. Cities can’t afford it. Pittsfield can’t afford it.

THE PLANET might also ask a couple “third rail” questions:

  • How many of the “houseless” are that way because of choice?
  • How many are there because they are moochers?

The number is greater than zero.

All this makes Kronick’s petition sound and reasonable.

———- ooo ———-

Kave-in Kavey, COIN Lampiasi, Conant the Barbarian sat there deaf and dumb during what passed for debate. Dumpster Earl called Kronick’s action “an attack on the homeless.” White tugged his pickle.

“We want people to have homes,” said Sherman on his march to see. No wonder his new nickname is “Elmer Fudd.”

Someone else talked about the need for “systems” to house people.

“Systems.”

Right.

Let’s see how the city has done with that in partnership with ServiceNet. You know, one of them “not-for-profit” shysters that makes tons of profit off  human misery.

ServiceNet ran the home at Barton’s Crossing on upper North Street, turning it into a rattrap. Then when COVID hit, it put up people in the old SJHS building on Maplewood Terrace. That worked out about as well as the Black Hole of Calcutta. Meanwhile, the 1st Methodist 40-bed unit is on permanent vacation after million$ spent.

———- ooo ———-

Don’t ask THE PLANET for a “solution.” We have none to give that you couldn’t find. Besides, that’s not our job. It’s the job of the Flat Administration.

And ask not what citizens want but what they DON’T want.

They don’t want the homeless here. They WANT them elsewhere.

Solutions?

  • Send them to Lame Deer, Wyoming.
  • Shoot ’em and grind them up for fertilizer.
  • Shoot ’em up with lethal injections of the drugs they crave for more compost.

Shocking? Not as shocking as the Flat Administration’s ignorance of the problem.

Kronick’s petition cut through the fakery the city has been blowing up taxpayers’ heinies. It does so by addressing the bottom line: funding. It was an audacious, brilliant move, so good that his colleagues melted in spinelessness.

There you have it: Flat, Fudd, the two Pee Pees, COIN, Kave-in, and Dumpster vs. One Man Fighting for What’s Right.

Welcome to Pittsfield!

Have a great weekend, everybody.

Sarcasm: I conference called Mayor Linda Tyer and Matt Kerwood today. I suggested that they use 10 percent of the money from their multimillion-dollar Slush Fund$ to help pay for Pittsfield’s homelessness crisis. I told the lovely Linda and Kufflinks that they cannot contact the Berkshire-based State Senator because Chrome Dome Adam Hinds recently resigned his position, but they still may contact Trippy Country Buffet about the record-setting billions upon billions of dollars in state surplus funds in Boston to help pay for Pittsfield’s homelessness crisis. I told the lovely Linda and Kufflinks that PAC Man Richie Neal could help them pay for Pittsfield’s homelessness crisis if they could get him off of K Street. I told the lovely Linda and Kufflinks that Maryland Markey could help keep the homeless stay warm this upcoming winter season by piping in all of his HOT AIR in the Swamp about the Democrat’s Green New Deal. I told the lovely Linda and Kufflinks that Elizabeth Warren could help them with Pittsfield’s homelessness crisis, but she is nowhere to be found on Main Street. I told the lovely Linda and Kufflinks that Joe Biden could help them with Pittsfield’s homelessness crisis, but the Prez is too busy record spending the federal government into oblivion. All of these millions, billions and trillions of government dollars, but none of it goes to the people who are most in need. No wonder Pittsfield is failing to address its homelessness crisis; there is NO leadership from Pittsfield politics to BeaCON Hill to the Swamp!

Kronicks petition is award worthy as is your article Dan.

More than perhaps any other city debacle, this petition response exposes the ineptitude, incompetence and asininity of our city government. It exposes dire weaknesses at all levels of city leadership, especially the mayor, council vice president and several chronically dumbfounded city councilors.

Most people with any influence in the city are terrified to speak up if their opinions might differ from the mayors. She has waived the fat city wallet over her head and business owners know it could pop open at any time and drop goodies at their feet. OR, it could be zipped tight for them if they disrespect her by saying words that misalign with her all controlling authority.
Lucrative tax breaks, special dispensation of Covid cash, greased and expedited building permits and kid glove treatment for infractions are all concerns to be weighed when opening ones mouth in some cities.
In America, famous for democracy, anyone can supposedly serve in government, which seems a wonderful thing. But it is a double edge sword as we see in Pittsfield, where people often run for and get elected for all the wrong reasons. The original idea was for elected persons to represent the electorate and work for a communal betterment. But in some places this goes upside down where those elected work to better mostly themselves and special interest connections. Is Pittsfield such a place?

Kronick did shine a light on the ineptitude of Pittsfield’s government that is being run by a bunch of group think Democrats. Unfortunately it seems whenever the city gets rid of one government leech 10 others show up. I say COVID is over so lets bus the houseless back to Boston where it’s warmer and more caring liberals!! I also think the stuttering Council should help us poor seniors and get rid of the CPA tax! The fall is a good time for pruning so they should get out the sheers!

Women are also a large percentage of those getting murdered thanks to the war on cops and the war on our justice system. This is from the party that says they care so much about women and how worried they are about these women having a say over their bodies when it comes to abortion.

This week I drove through some of the poorer neighborhoods near Morningside School and I couldn’t believe the deterioration of these neighborhoods. The common theme in all of them though was the strong smell of skunk pot (the more potent version of pot) that just permeated entire streets. Kids are growing up with this in their homes and now even outside their homes. Do they think this is normal? These people have homes, but not the kind of homes that promote a healthy lifestyle. Heavy pot use makes parents not care about what their children are doing. It’s now the opium of the masses. You may not die from it, but it has been pushed on the public, I believe, as part of a political agenda.

You obviously don’t have kids or don’t care about kids because these neighborhoods are full of young children and your solution is to take a joint to make the horror go away. Are you on the far left because it sure sounds like it. If an adult wants to throw their life away by taking this very potent form of pot which really dulls the senses, then let them, but this stuff is being pushed on parents, on families. All part of the destruction of families so that big government can turn your kids into whatever they want.

Two more points to add to your article Dan.

*When Barton’s Crossing closed, COVID hit, and the “houseless” were being housed at SJHS, what did Pittsfield’s state rep Tricia Farley-Country Buffet (D-illegal immigrants) do to help the situation? She offered the Flat Tyer admin (go ahead and sigh) “grant money” to take in more houseless and junkies from the Boston area to put up in Pittsfield motels. Everyone wins in this situation. Well, everyone except the Pittsfield taxpayer.

TFCB looks like a hero to her Eastern masters for dumping their problems and issues into the Pittsfield landfill. Flat and Dirty Barry Tyer get a ‘lil sumpin’ extra in their Christmas stockings.

What do the Kapanski’s get? The “houseless.” Which means beggars and panhandlers on most busy intersections. Drug addicts camping out in the city parks. These people are broke. How do you think these people will ever get back to the Boston area? They won’t.

*I’ve mentioned before on The Planet about the fallacy of loss of a job, unaffordable rent, or no housing options, as being the root cause of why these people are “houseless.” The main reason is drug addiction. These people choose their drug addiction over living their lives. They don’t and won’t work by choice. They would rather get high. They don’t and won’t take job skills or other educational programs set up by the city. They would rather get high. They won’t and don’t stay in shelters when given the opportunities by the city. They would rather get high. Notice a theme here?

Don’t believe me, ask any police officer or EMT, who have been on the job for five years or longer. They will tell you.

One final note, when you see a young couple like the two houseless, drug addicts, pictured in the Eagle a couple of weeks ago, think big picture. If they are not welcome at home by their families because of their drug use/criminal behavior, do you honestly think an educational program or a job skills course set up by the city or “consulted” by the BBEC’s Shirley Edgerton, is going to help these two?

I petitioned the Homeless Advisory Committee for a thorough demographic report on Pittsfield’s homeless. I hope to hear back in next meeting. This is important information. If the population is largely new, then a regional response is needed, and neighboring towns will need to step up. It is not in the interest of Lenox and others to have Pittsfield completely collapse.

I agree with your whole premise Sir Charles, but I have to say, if I’m the Town Manager of Dalton or Lenox, I’m reminding you that YOUR mayor took the grant money to put the houseless up in motels during COVID. What did YOUR mayor do with that grant money?

Bike lanes for North Street and the unneeded Ricky Rumpass roundabout on Tyler Street. Nothing for the homeless. Plus, your current council VP is on written record having been working on this issue since 2018. In fact, he renamed them “houseless” during this study he was conducting. Porkchop Pete should have this study conducted by now.

Also, if YOUR mayor has a million dollars in ARPA money to allow a city employee to take a family vacation to another country to “explore her roots,” I’m going to tell you to pound sand.

Has the Pittsfield Scohol system completed a solid 5 day week yet this year? Do the teachers learn anything on these 1/2 days? Why are the Paraprofessionals not included in this so-called training? They wonder why parents are sending their children elsewhere, other scohol systems do not have these constant 1/2 days. Curtis is running a part-time scohol year, no wonder the Pittsfield students are so behind. Let’s keep increasing the budget though!

Also, is Mayor Flat Tyer proud of herself that students are stating in the newspaper that they have to dress in layers and bring blankets to PHS? Explains why I saw quite a few students wrapped in blankets on East Street the other day. Where is all the COVID monies that were given for the scohols? Where did Flat Tyer and Kerwood hide that money? Could ARPA money be utilized for a boiler? Yet Shirley can take family to Africa with the ARPA money. What were they doing all summer that they could not repair the furnace during that time? This City Administration is so damn crooked!!

I can tell you, 95% of the homeless that live in Pittsfield are not from Pittsfield originally nor had any major ties to Pittsfield until they were bussed in or brought here during Covid.

There is precisely 1 homeless person who chooses to be homeless, who has mental issues associated with significant drug use.

I hear that Harrington, Kennedy, and Hinds are going to build a homeless shelter together, they’ve done such good work for the homeless.

Better questions;
How many are illegal immigrants? Call ICE.
Where can the homeless be sheltered during the cold winter months?
How can ServiceNet do a better job?
What happened to the churches given taxpayer money to provide shelter?
What is attracting them to Pittsfield and how can that be changed?
What rehab services are available to the alcoholics & drug users?
Why is the city allowing the encampments in Springside?

New York declares state of emergency over migrant arrivals, citing dwindling shelter spaceBy Camilo Montoya-Galvez
October 7, 2022 / 1:25 PM / CBS News

New York City Mayor Eric Adams declared a state of emergency on Friday over the arrival of thousands of migrants bused from the U.S. southern border in recent months, imploring the Biden administration for aid, as the city’s overwhelmed shelters struggle to accommodate the recent arrivals.
Adams, a Democrat, said the city’s shelters are running out of bed space, with more than 61,000 homeless New Yorkers and migrants — including 20,000 children — in its housing system. A fifth of those in shelters are migrants, he said. The city has also enrolled 5,500 recently arrived migrant children in public schools.
At the current pace, the local shelter system could find itself housing 100,000 individuals next year, Adams said. He added that the city also anticipates spending over $1 billion receiving and housing migrants by next July.

We haven’t seen this kind of spark and energy coming out of the Pittsfield city council, since Dirty Barry made his Pittsfield vigilante debut a few years ago.

Drug dealing, prostitution, and gang activity, going on in the parking lot of Cumby’s on First Street, “not on my watch,” stated Dirty Barry Tyer, as he patrolled the parking lot at 3AM, on a cold, snowy, January night.

While Dirty Barry flexed his muscles to combat crime, Sir Charles is using his brains to outthink the food critic, dumpster diver, and the rainbow warriors (not the fighting kind), in their quest to pi$$ away taxpayer money.

Dirty Barry did tarnish his reputation a bit, when he carelessly stumbled into the room where they were counting votes during his wife’s mayoral election. He was “looking for the Coke machine,” in a passcode protected, secure area of city hall.

Biden said this week that Armageddon is coming. Biden said numerous times at an event this week that we have never been so close to nuclear annihilation since the Cuban Missile Crisis. Our government is buying medications for nuclear attack which aren’t intended for you, but for the important people like government officials, the elites, and the school unions. He is so arrogant that he literally took off at a run when reporters attempted to question him about his frightening remarks. Yet there are no attempts to head off Armageddon by the Biden administration like diplomacy. It’s almost like they are accepting Armageddon as inevitable. Imagine President Trump saying we are heading for Armageddon and the media firestorm that would erupt ending in impeachment. Instead, the message from the media is to vote Democrat in November and let’s just get on with this march toward Armageddon.

A fascist is a communist or a socialist who is hurting someone. When fascists get together to make a group, they become a gang.

I have determined this from the splayed dissection of some fine fascist specimens.

Did anyone notice after the destruction of Hurricane Ian, you didn’t see Xiden sending windmills, electric vehicles, or social justice warriors, down to FL, to help repair the damage? Why not?

I only saw gas- and diesel-powered trucks, as well as good old American sweat and muscle (toxic masculinity as it’s called by libs), helping out the people of FL.

I’m surprised you haven’t touched on Berkshire Housing’s petition before the planning board to build a homeless shelter at the corner of West Housatonic and Henry Avenue.

So many homeless! So much public funding available!

Which is how they got here in the first place. Da Troof above is correct, the covid-positive homeless dump from the eastern side of the state resulted in much-needed money for the suffering hospitality industry during pandemic hard times and a shitload of new homeless people in the area. They’re HOMELESS people. Where would they return to?

Here is one for the Planet. Cleveland and Seattle scoreless through 14 innings? Cleveland had bases loaded no outs in the sixth inning.

Aside..At least eight cop and state police cars up at outer west? Don’t know why.

I’ve commented on that proposed building several times before. There is no need to build a brand new facility when there are plenty of facilities
i.e. St. Joe’s that could be rehabbed & properly staffed to care for the homeless.

Some contractor friend of Linda’s must have dollar signs in his eyes. Outrageous abuse of ARPA funds.

Or has Linda requested migrants and this proposed new building will be the “ launch” site?

I think you hit the nail on the head Lenny.

I’m sure in the future, we will be hearing about all the of the state grant money that Tricia Farley Country-Buffet (D-illegal immigrants) secured for the Flat Tyer administration to build a migrant shelter than can also be used to house the houseless, if needed. All of these millions of dollars to take in a few hundred migrants.

What could go wrong? Venezuela just emptied their prisons like Castro did in the 1980’s for one. But I’m sure the bleeding hearts will write letters to the editor that these people are escaping dangerous situations, or whatever buzz words the media will use, to try and garner sympathy for them.

Most of these adults have an unknown background, have an elementary school level of education, and other than manual laborers type jobs, have little to no marketable job skills.

Three to five years from now, Dirty Barry and Flat Tyer, will be living in Colorado, while the Kapanski’s deal with the migrant crime wave in Pittsfield.

I know if I’m running a gang, I’m using migrants to do my dirty work. $200 to a drug dealer is chump change. To a migrant, it’s a lottery win.

I know, I’m being racist. Telling the truth these days makes one a “ist” in the progressive playbook. But telling a lie on social media got Helen “Handgun” Moon, a payout from Wrong Way Harrington and on the e-board of the NAACP. Makes sense, huh?

Send the migrants to second street. They’ll think they’re in a modern facility.

The G-man always said that flat was just a secretary in a pool of secretaries, but G-man has always been in positions of importance where he had to assess the abilities of his employees and his competitors and it appears he had secretary Tyer pegged much earlier than the rest of us.Regardless, he has been very persistent about savings of $40-$50 million at our water plants just like he saved 115, million when help build the water plants in the mid 80s It is time that everyone voice your opposition to the preposterous $84 million proposed updates sanctioned by soft flat and the eight week dwarfs on the city Council. It is time for less talk and much more action, the wiz makes it clear that DPW commissioner Morales must go. The G-man challenged Morales to a debate at the last city Council meeting he is still awaiting word from the buffoon.

St. Joe is an awful place for the homeless shelter. Put them on outer West Housatonic at that old auto place before 41. Provide shelter and transportation twice a day. Out in the morning, and a ride back in the evening.

Concentrating them downtown, on Main Street, is just another nail in the coffin.

Hangman Jury
Song by Aerosmith

Me and my old lady sittin’ in the shade
Talkin’ ’bout the money that I ain’t made
Singin’ o boy dontcha line the track a lack a
Oh boy dontcha line the track
Oh boy dontcha line the track a lack a
Oh boy dontcha line the track
If I could I surely would
Stand on the rock that Moses stood
Singin’ O boy dontcha line the track a lack a
Oh boy dontcha line the track
Oh boy dontcha line the track a lack a
Oh boy dontcha line the track
Drank so much hooch
It my eyes be gettin’ blurry
They say I nailed her to the wall
A stitch in time don’t mean a thing
No hangman jury could make me crawl
‘Cause I’m a poor boy dontcha
Line the track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track
O boy dontcha line the track a lack a
O boy dontcha line the track
Whatcha do with a gun that’s loaded
Shot her dead and her heart exploded
Tell me baby now d-dontcha worry
Like lyin’ to a Hangman Jury
I swear I didn’t know that ’45 was loaded
In fact my memory ain’t too clear
That’s not to say she didn’t get what she deserved
Least that’s the way it looked from here
Boy when you line the track a lack a
Hey boy dontcha line the track a lack a
Hey boy dontcha line the track
Ooh, my love came tumblin’ down
Ooh, love come tumblin’ down
Ooh, Let’s get outta here
Love come tumblin’
And every night she take her things into the city
And in the morning make me beg
If I’d taken all her titty gritty
Smack her right upside the head
Boy dontcha line the track a lack a
Oh boy dontcha line the track
Oh boy dontcha line the track
Ooh, my love came tumblin’ down
Ooh, love comes tumblin’ down
Ooh, love comes tumblin’ down
Poor boy sweatin’ in the hot summer night
Hangman waitin’ for the early mornin’ light singin’
Oh boy dontcha line the track a lack a
Oh boy dontcha line the track
Oh boy dontcha line the track a lack a
Oh boy dontcha line the track
If I could I surely would
Stand on the rock that Moses
Done stood singin’
Oh boy dontcha line the track a lack a
Oh boy dontcha line the track
Oh boy dontcha line the track a lack a
Oh boy dontcha line the track

We can think of it this way: If Putin takes out his nuclear weapons toy chest to start World War 3, then Pittsfield politics’ many decades of failed leadership won’t matter anymore.

And if Biden and the globalists keep pushing us toward nuclear annihilation to achieve their goal of world government, the result will be the same. This is a deadly game that both sides are playing. The globalists know that many people will die if nuclear war breaks out, but it looks more and more like this is a gamble they are willing to take to satisfy their ambitions. If this wasn’t true, they would be doing everything they could to deescalate the situation, but we see none of that.

Yeppers. The two divided camps of America will go down together because they were to busy bitching at each other to see Putin coming up behind them.

Far left globalist John Kirby says Biden is just saying what is a fact that the nuclear stakes are very high right now. Again, they are preparing us for war between Russia and the globalists. They are willing to risk a massive loss of life to get rid of Putin so the globalists can take over. If this wasn’t really what they are planning, they would be doing everything in their power to negotiate and use diplomacy to stop this madness.

Allen you planet posters. You are texting about anything and everything which is important and not important. One thing that is certainly important and a certainty, is the fact that the killer water rates and sewer rates are just around the corner Your water and sewer rates will rival your property taxes.

The only way to keep rates from rising here is my praying that the G-man is able to fix the current $84 million proposal and nix it at the two cities Krofta water filtration plants.Add this figure to the 7O,000,0000 being spent at the failing sewer plant and you have a price tag 154 million, which will have to be paid for by all sewer and water users, the figures are real and will break the backs of all.

These prohibitive expenditures will force landlords to increase rent substantially and a ripple effect because business failures, high rents, high property taxes will force many to leave Pittsfield, those who remain here we’ll see our water and property taxes rates rise even more as we will have to make up for the people who leave.

The picture is bleak and we all have to do our part, the time for action was yesterday. Every person who reads this will be affected. Take your heads out of the sand and get involved, it is your money which is at stake, Act accordingly, time is running out.

Authors’ note: Enclosed quote is from The Berkshire Eagle 10/14/2022. The Tyer administration called on Brad Gordon, exec director of the Berkshire Regional Housing Authority to further clarify the (panhandling ) situation . Mr. Gordon stepped up, replying : “ This is a simple reality , if you have an issue with people panhandling, you can look the other way!”. Congratulations to Mr.Gordon for simultaneously passing the buck, offering no solution, and inventing a campaign slogan/ rally cry for the Tyer Administration.
