‘HEAD EAST, YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN’: A REALISTIC LOOK AT OUR GLOBAL FUTURE

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY MARCH 6, 2023) — THE PLANET has long been interested in the social aspects of culture, geopolitics, economics, and the arts — especially how they intermingle and mix in the formation of nations and societies.god.

And nowhere do we find a greater amalgamation of such factors than in the “religion” of today’s global ti’mes. We speak of Technology. Not just any Technology (yes, capital “T” the way we would use a capital “G” in the word “God”) but, to use the cliche, cutting-edge Tech. Examples: AI, IT, GPT-3, Big Data, new algorithms, and “remote everything.”

If industrialization of the 19th century was the future, and information served the same purpose for the 20th, today’s equivalent is High Tech. The leader in this area will direct the globe’s near future as the new superpower — if, that is, we don’t blow ourselves to atoms first, perhaps by the time 2023 runs its course.

It should come as no surprise, therefore, especially with Syracuse Joe at America’s helm, that the future is Sino. As a resurrected Horace Greeley might put it, “Go East, young man and woman.” Incidentally, that would be all the gender he would recognize.

Want tomorrow today? Think about this [from an online report]:

  • China leads the US in the research of 37 out of 44 key technologies tracked by an Australian think tank.
  • These critical and emerging technologies span a range of sectors including defense, space, and energy.
  • China’s research lead in these sectors will have implications for democratic nations.
  • China has a “stunning lead” ahead of the US in high-impact research across critical and emerging technologies, according to Canberra-based independent think tank Australian Strategic Policy Institute, or ASPI.

———- ooo ———-

Consider the miserable state of public education in the USA and couple it with the fact that three out of every four Ph.Ds in High Tech were earned by nationals from the Pacific Rim. Most of those students obtained their advanced degrees at U.S. colleges and universities (Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and the like) and when they passed their comprehensives headed back to their home countries.

The implications for democratic countries need not be spelled out or mapped. You are well capable of following the bread crumbs.

Should we survive an all-out nuclear war, at best a 50-50 proposition, within 20 years today’s geopolitical landscape will be unrecognizable. At the head of the class: China.

Despite the 300-year aberration that is the West’s experimentation with democracy, republicanism, and liberalism, China’s Middle Way, if left alone, will prevail, propelled by its huge investment in critical and emerging High Tech.

China will continue to fashion a new kind of rightist, authoritarian form of politics and government, fashioned from the best of capitalism and theoretical socialism (as opposed to the insanity of Soviet-styled Communism). Individual freedoms and liberties as we know them will give way to a more orderly state of things to come. Greater security will be purchased with the coin of license that is in the process of morally bankrupting the West.

For centuries since the beginning of civilization, China was the world’s top superpower. Then came the rise of Europe in the 15th century. From then to the Boxer Rebellion and onto Mao’s disastrous perch, the West lorded supreme, led by America. Uncle Sam’s crown lasted a rough 100 years.

Is it too late for the U.S.?

No. It’s never too late, per Yogi, as in “It ain’t over til it’s over.” Time, though, is running out, which is why next year’s elections assume great importance.

At present, geopolitics and Technology are returning China to the top perch, with no signs of abating. The guard is changing, and we are in the midst of that epochal event.  We are living in times that future generations will not call the past. They will call it History — and it is tumultuous and upsetting. That, by the way, is not the same as pronouncing it good or bad.

Your thoughts?

China invests billions of dollars into Big Tech and the news media to keep up their facade about how great they are. They may have even paid the think tank, too, to spread their manipulated information. Wasn’t there another authoritarian regime in the 1930s that was all about propaganda? They even hosted the Olympics in 1936, and the EVIL dictator refused to shake the hand of a certain U.S. gold medalist. Blogger Dan Valenti – the man, myth and legend whom the Fourth Estate is named after – may want to differentiate between the propaganda that China pays a lot of money to influence us into believing that their country is on the path to glory versus reality. It would be like us believing that a certain past Mayor of Pittsfield’s Rolodex and Renaissance propaganda made the city a better place!

Do you remember when the Ruberto regime wasted taxpayer money on those ceramic sheep on North Street? I don’t remember what the “theme” for the sheep was though.

Of all animals too, why pick a sheep? For Pittsfield? I get that theme for a hill town maybe. You know were men and men and sheep…..

I’m really surprised that the ceramic molds were not of young, teenage boys, with the saying, “Tell ‘um Angelo sent you,” sponsored by Greylock Credit Union.

A trip down memory lane.

Dan, in your interest in such things have you formed an opinion as to whether the U.S. should honor its treaty and support Taiwan if China invades it? That is what we signed up for long before Biden came on the scene. Also, I really do not think Biden has had very much to do with China s power position in the world today. It started quite some time before him.

I also think that if America were to go to war with China they would bitch slap us into submission in a very short time. And I do not think they would even need nukes to do it.

United States is far superior to any country. Our under sea weaponry is second to none as is our communication, surveillance technology to name a few. In the last couple years we have invested Trillions, not for balloons.Dans Australian research team is full of balloons. We would annihilate China in a War. Agree. Also, China actually doesn’t have the fuel resources or cash to go to war with us. We are energy independent and we have a MASSIVE economy.

The first thing that would happen in a war with China is that we’d embargo them. What would they do then? Buy farmland in idaho? Enlist the help of North Korea’s skelaton army (again underfed farmers whose military experience is missile tests and blowing up political convicts with anti aircraft rounds.)

Paper tigers abound in the far east. Armies that have never actually fought in any war and engineers who never invented anything.

We are no longer energy independent, Traitor Joe saw to that 1st month in office 2021, shutting down much of domestic production. Joe then went begging to the Saudis and Venezuelans to increase imported oil, rather than developing our vast reserves. He also undid sanctions with Iran. Remember $2/gallon gas and heating oil 2019?

The Chi-Coms have already bought up significant US farmland along with their good friend, Bill Gates. Some next to strategic military installations (North Dakota).

Traitor Joe has emasculated/neutered our military with “woke” types like General silly Millie, and given away our best weapons to the Taliban (85 BILLION WORTH), and his and Hunter’s corrupt money laundering business partners in Ukraine (BILLIONS MORE). US Military is more concerned with: correct pronouns, allowing the enlisted tax funded sex changes, and CRT, than being an effective fighting force.

We no longer have a border, and untold millions of criminals have been allowed into our country, with many more coming daily.

The Bidens are not for sale. China already bought them, years ago.

America has fallen far in just two short years.

Biden ended our independence, but it’s there. And the Chinese depend on coal and imports. Biden won’t fight the Chinese – he’ll surrender before the first shot.

“China has never set foot outside it’s borders and never will. ”

Korea, India, the South China Sea? How about their police stations throughout the USA? Also, tell that to the Africans and the Philipines. In fact, global ownership is their manifesto.

You are correct that China wiull not invade the US. They’ll just take over our government and deal with them to steal our wealth. Lithium mines have come to our shores – that is the first shot.

PFH, China has never invaded Korea, India or the Phillipines, and they have zero presents in US police stations. Globel ownership is nowhere listed in any manifesto of there’s, and they would never be able to take over our govt. What are you smoking?

Remember the Korean war? They frequently cross the Indian border and fight. They attack Phillipine ships. They have practically seized the South China Sea, and yes, they do maintain police stations in the US. It’s kind a scandal, and it’s not much of a secret.

And, for the record, they claim dominion over the planet. That is driving their behavior. Heard of the ‘Silk Road?’ I’ll do you a favor and ignore your parting insult, though that trashes your credibility. Why insult unless you have no facts?

bonner

I do appreciate your favor and apologize for the insult, and understand you now that you have explained. Now I’ll give you my take.

The K war had fighters aiding the North. They aided the NVN as well and then returnd home. The crossed borders you speak of are matters of mere miles, and the S China sea is the border accd to them (not Hawaii or Algeria or Afghanistan) and their occupation of it is tenuous at best. I’d love to know more about your police stations and planet dominien. The silk road has been traveled by all sorts of folk for over 40 centuries, by no means all CCP.

Planet From Hell

No problem – I’ve done my share of insults too most likely.

Mere miles is an invasion, as are mere feet. Saddam Hussein considered the Kuwaitis’ poaching Iraqi gas grounds for invasion, so we can also say sticking straws under your border is off limits. South China Sea is guarede by them and they do not respect international shipping zones.

Silk Road is a contemporary colonial concept. They are taking over nations’ governments by offering to subsidize their infrastructure leaving them in hock for debts that they’ll never pay off. As result, the country gets mined and exploited in the same fashion as the Dutch and the French and Brits did in the 19th cent.

30 years ago, China couldn’t dream of taking Taiwan. They lacked a navy capable of crossing the Strait which will sink most ships. Now they have their navy, and all the Taiwanese have is us.

The Chi-coms won’t invade like a video game. They’ll starve them economically, deplete their defenses with nuisance attacks, and then invade.

Help for them is a long way off, and I doubt they’ll get much from their neighbors.

As for Korea, they not only helped their neighbors, they also took them over. It’s a Chi-Com puppet state.

Thanks for the response and the police station reference.

Now, if you zoom out 50 miles or so or look at a map you can visualize that China has never exceeded its borders. It is afraid to. It has no experience fighting a war with extended supply lines. The Indian incursions are trivial, N Korea is not a vassal state, they left VN when the war ended, and the citizens of Taiwan would never fold. They have themselves as well as us.

What we need to worry about is not China but rather the cultural split in our own country. THAT is what keeps me up at night.

“What we need to worry about is not China but rather the cultural split in our own country. THAT is what keeps me up at night.”

Ok, I can live with that. You’re probably right. My take: the split is between those of us who hold the Faith and the Love for our nation’s great founding. Then there are the others who believe the forgery. That’s the essence of the divide.

Where I disagree: there is nothing trivial when a foreign army crosses your border. Israel deals with the same sort of activity with Hezbollah and Hamas. That’s war!

How many Americans were lost in Korea? Killed by Chi-Coms/NK/Russians.

killed 54,246 wounded 103,284 MIA 8,196 POW 3,746 Total169,365

USA could do little to stop an all out invasion of Tiawan short of nukes, and our military is unprepared under Biden.

Nothing will get better in the US unless we fix the disastrous education system. What was once a great system has turned sour. Our beloved schools and universities do not do their jobs. Instead of education and teaching our children how to think they now want to teach them what to think. Instead of education first, the schools are now restaurants and social engineering cesspools. Actual education is so far down the list on their agenda it’s ridiculous. For example, there are universities and colleges that are making gender studies a required course. Let’s not forget the safe spaces and teddy bears that are popular these days in higher education. Keep in mind these young adults are the same age group as the men that stormed the beaches in Normandy. Then there are the teachers unions that protect ineffective and incompetent teachers all the while demanding more and more money and benefits.

Paul makes very good points in his assessments of the AMERICAN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM. It is very clear that a small segment of our society tries to force their agenda on all of us. Who knows what America will look like in the next decade but it is clear that necessary college courses are being dropped in favor of mandatory gender related courses which only weaken our commitment to excellence in core American values. These aberrant mandatory college courses can only weaken the fabric of excellence in our American educational system. We must revamp our educational system so that these American core values are instilled in our college age youth. DEI and other mandatory gender related issues are taking precious moments away from core values that should be mandatory for all of our college age students. What will America look like if we keep up our present involvement with mandatory gender related studies. A wedge is being driven between americans that has to be stoped otherwise america will continue its downward spiral.

Respect your point of view and always will. Negotiating is my preference.listening to and respecting others point of view should be taught at all of our schools and institutions of higher learning.Compromise is the only way to solve any and all problems without any blood being spilt. Bonner, in a subsequent post you mentioned the faith you have in our fighting forces and I agree 100% with you. I fought in the Vietnam War and I saw first hand the courage of both the American soldier and north Vietnamese soldier. We lost over 58 thousand American troops and we’ll over 2 million Vietnamese soldiers. Just think if both sides compromised.. in good faith we wouldn’t have had the loss of humanity we experienced. We must learn that fighting is never the way to solve any problem. But because we deal with so many countries with so many problems we must remain vigilant at all times and absorb any monetary cost to keep our country safe for the American people. Hopefully we have learned that we must keep the peace at any cost. We should
never partake in savage unthinkable and unimaginable annihilation of human beings whether friend or foe. Let us all pray that we never have to commit our young men to the savagery of wars ever again. We must realize that compromise is the only way out. A life is not dispenseble to the american family and your family.it is sacred to both

Nothing will get better in the US until our political parties talk civilly to each other. Americas worst enemy right now is itself.
The Chinese government and their military are one and the same. If they want to get aggressive they do not need to run it buy a nutso faction of their congress for opinions. This in of itself is a huge advantage. They have a very short chain of command and will not be standing around with their thumbs up their collective asses discussing what to do. My guess is the first thing they do is knock out most of our electrical grid putting most computers and whatever relies on them out of commission. Think banks, grocery stores and gas stations. Airports will shut down creating total chaos within the country.

If you go to Youtube and check out how far advanced China’s infrastructure is over ours you will be shocked. Look at their bridges, roads, railways and damns. We are third world compared to them and it would take us 20 years to catch up IF we had the money and political cohesiveness to try it.

Check out their ability to mass produce. Check out their robotics. How many healthy in shape dedicated soldiers do you think they have on line compared to America, who has had to lower its recruitment standards several times due to so many snow flakes, overweight people and drug addicts not to mention a generation of the undisciplined and undisciplineable. And I am not knocking the many dedicated, experienced awesome soldiers we do have. I am saying they will not be enough to sustain. Don’t like to think about it.

Soldiers don’t win war, faith and causes win wars. I don’t think a fat healthy Ci-com will remain committed for long getting their asses shot out on Amercian soil, so they’ll just rob us blind instead and get us to strip in our national parks and give them the goods. That’s all they want anyway.

America only wins the wars we don’t launch, and we always go in underarmed, understaffed, and behind the eight ball. Drafts are very different than volunteering.

The only reason we have a huge military is to protect other nations and it looks to me to be a mercenary army for rent, only we don’t charge rent. As madelaine Albright said before we lent our army to the Albanian Serbs, “What’s the point of having the best milirary in the World if we don’t use it?”

My word would be realist. While it may be in vogue right now to support this political party or that political party, I look at the whole picture. I try to look past the nonsense and divisive rhetoric dumped daily by pundits, some of which seem to actually be intentionally aiding our enemies.

And it makes me so sad when I think where this country could be if our political parties acted like adults and both worked for the country as a whole and not one party domination, which seems so self destructive to me.

Since we are a representative democracy, our govt reflects the factionalism in its difficulty moving forward.

No way the Chinese are worrying everyday about how many genders they have. That nonsense was pushed on us by the far left forces in this country and others, like China on Tik-Tok, who are trying to destroy us from within. Nations from the Pacific Rim are warning students to only concentrate on American technical education, which is still excellent, and ignore all the garbage. Sadly, American students are caught up in the garbage and are more worried about wokeness, gender identity, and the removal of body parts to become the correct gender; while ignoring the important education.

This war is between Russia/Iran/China vs. the globalists. Biden has intentionally involved us with the globalists because he is a globalist as are many on the left. The globalists see China and Russia as their major enemies standing in the way of their world domination and vice versa. This is why the next election is so important because Biden or any other far left candidate for president will continue to lead us down the road to the next world war, if it isn’t already too late.

I thought Afghanistan started a war with us, which we finished. They sent bombers into destroy five military/economic targets. We negotiated with the Taliban. They refused to talk so we fought back.

Barack Obama, in an early speech said that Iraq was ‘wrong’ and we should be fighting in Afghanistan. And there we fought under 8 incompetent years (bribing warlords to not shoot us, stuffing dollar bills into Karzai’s accounts, training Afghan soldiers to hide behind Americans, and the President announcing strategic decisions to the press) until Trump negotiated an end to it in his final years.

Then came Biden. As Obama said, “Do not underestimate his [Biden’s] ability to fuck things up.” The result: now Russian and Chinese engineers have the best of our tech and are busily re-engineering it and the Taliban is the lead arms dealer of American hardware, probably surpassing us.

Trump negotiated the end run, Biden did execute getting us out – in the worst and most catastrophic fashion.

It was a complete fiasco.

Our top brass should have reigned and left their toy WWII styled uniforms in the locker. Barring that Biden should have dismissed the lot. When we announced our departure, the Taliban had pickup trucks and light arms. We left them with armored Humvees, Apaches, fighter jets, 700,000 assault rifles (the real ones not AR15 or even crap-rattle AK47’s) and everything in between.

And yeah, we lost a bunch of soldiers too – that should not have happened given we weren’t even under fire. And we lost a lot of American civilians working there under Biden’s scrutiny and the entire lot of Afghan support staff.

What is more entertaining than watching the world’s best army scrambling for the exit leaving EVERYTHING and EVERYONE behind? Tbe only thing that could have been worse is if the US boarded the planes in their underwear or missing their shoes.

You may not spin it Biden’s way. It is unbecoming.

Also, Biden didn’t ‘get us out.’ Getting out was predetermined by Trump. Biden just ordered an emergency evacuation.

There is a difference between a tactical withdrawal and a chaotic evacuation. The real fault lies with the generals, but since they are still serving, the buck stops with Biden.

You omitted slavery and greed in Chinas many attributes.

If China were to move the majority of its military from China ( which would be required) to invade a foreign country, the native population would revolt and gain their freedom by force.
Only a small percentage of Chinese, wish to be socialist, the ones with the monopoly on violence ( guns).

The Chinese government is terrified of its own citizens.

The key is stopping the flow of western assets to china for cheap goods, and tarrifs on any forced labor products.

Off topic, but which one of our elected officials has a relative who was pulled over in a drug stop 2 weeks ago and not even issued a traffic citation?
Their car is on camera all over this town showing them to be the driver in an ongoing criminal enterprise, and the same relative abandoned a disabled senior citizen miles from home over the weekend, when that senior thought they were paying for a legitimate ride to deliver engine formula to a family in need.
Luckily, in the senior citizen was smart enough not to be carrying cash, and the driver had agreed to accept payment for the ride at the gas pump, via debit card, when they returned to town.
Good thing or from what I understand we would be reading posts together missing disabled senior right now.
I share this out of frustration and anger but this also illustrates the bigger picture in which folks on fixed income have no choice which are remain here amid the violence and corruption.

Close relative of one of our elected officials abandoned a senior citizen several miles out of town after they hired this close relative to give them a ride there and back.
The same close relative of an elected official here in Pittsfield is also the driver in a traffic stop that ended with two arrests, and heroin being recovered, but the connected driver wasn’t even given a traffic citation or asked for license and registration.
Same driver is on camera all over town transporting people known to PPD as drugs providers to the locals, and should probably be charged as an accessory but isn’t being so. why

Quiel has the least amount of nervous tissue of this bunch followed closely by Conant and persip.White and kavey are losers but in comparison to the other three they appear as marginal buffoons and not worthy of a vote except to be voted out of office.Ward 6 drew the booby prize when they chose quiel a medical marvel in her own right, who was born with a pumpkin seed in her brain cavity rather than a brain. She has been a disgrace to all city residents but especially to ward 6 voters. . In conclusion any body who runs against quiel deserves to be seated as ward 6 councilor. To give an example, Carlson used a 1/7 clip of one of the cops who later died as a result of his injuries to claim that he wasn’t dead at the time of filming (true), implying that the MSM and the committee had claimed he had died at that point (false), and calling the committee and the MSM ‘liars’ as a result.

The entire one-hour TC show had running clips of 1/7, completely consisting of clips where there was no violence.

I could give you several more examples of this sort. Carlson knows exactly what he is doing. It is easy to see if you examine his words and footage very carefully.

The cop didn’t have injuries from any protestors.

He died of natural causes and an autopsy showed that.

He was hit in the head with a fire extinguisher.

Total lie. No evidence of this. He died of natural causes. The democrats and their media lied to you and you believed it.

So if there was video of the 9-11 hijackers prior to storming the cockpits, I’m sure it would show some peaceful tourists politely sitting in their seats eating cocktail peanuts and drinking soda.

Off topic,

A Lenox Man accused of sending lewd photographs and videos of himself displaying his genitalia to what he believed to be a minor child, and attempting to pressure the minor child into sending him photos of herself has been released has, with conditions, despite the fact that he faces 10 years in prison, 3 years supervised release and a fine up to $250,000, if convicted, of alleged child exploitation.

And this from the officer of DA Timmy “Kid’s Place” Shugrue; in the interest of ‘Better, Safer’

Man Sentenced for Assaulting Child, Must Register with Sex Offender Registry.

This tawdry tale of Indecent Assault and Battery involves multiple child victims, one child as young as 7. On the first count of Indecent Assault and Battery of a child, the defendant was sentenced to 5 years’ probation, with conditions. On the second count the defendant may or may not actually serve 18-months in the house of correction.

Authorities believe Mexican drug cartel allegedly mistook the four Americans, on an alleged leisure trip, to Mexico, for an alleged tourism tummy tuck, for Haitian drug smugglers. Judging by the pictures of the American tummy tuck tourists, the Mexican Drug Cartel may have a plausible excuse for mistaking the American tummy tuck tourists for Haitian drug smugglers, or drug smugglers from Pittsfield. One of the alleged Haitian looking drug smugglers looks a lot like a Crack Dealer, Registered Sex Offender, Murder Suspect in the city of Pittsfield, MA. The really look like they could be brothers from different mothers.

I suspect that those who are critical of Tucker Carlson have never watched his show. They most likely see out of context clips on cnn, msnbc or the View.

No, I watch TC very carefully. I like to see how he uses words, footage and guest interviews to produce his chosen narrative.

Tucker Carlson brings up some good things but he is always late to the party. I saw the video footage two years ago of the cops letting the protesters in. I knew two years ago the “vaccines” had safety issues. Dr. Shiva’s lawsuit showed two years ago that election fraud is very real. I have no use for mainstream media in any form. They are paid to push a narrative, facts don’t matter.
