PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY AUG. 14, 2024) — Half a league onward into our break, THE PLANET has decided to extend our leave. Why? You know the punch line: “Because we can.”

Our next post will be Wednesday Sept. 6, after Labor Day.

Can you hold out till then?

Meanwhile, we shall leave The Comment Line open for piping in, turning on, or, should you wish, dropping out. Rest easy, though. Our AOR (Army of Robots) and our AI will handle everything–including the posting of this installment!

In the interim, THE PLANET shall remain unreachable midst the sand dunes and the August swoon.

Hoo-Ray.

WTF Pitts!! Just saw where om one of the cut throughs between Williams and Elm St the city spent all summer putting in 2 sidewalks and 3 speed bumps?? I think it was Donna or Denise can’t really remember. The only thing I remember is more pavement has been applied needlessly on that street this year than has been used on my street in the last 40 years!! The city has no clue on how to run their street improvement program. Let’s use the asphalt for filling in the holes in the roads!!

Massive speed bumps on Denise. Elm St still continues to be a 1/4 mile drag strip for assholes on motorcycles and drunk drivers

The whole City is like that. There is no friggin traffic enforcement in this City. Guess it is easier to put in speed bumps so they can have more fun. After all we have lost most of the entertainment venues in the Pits. like Ken’s Bowl and the softball complex to name a few.

Kens Bowl was a private business that chose to sell. We now have a new bowling alley. The softball complex was closed because the Adult Baseball League took all the players. Just stating facts.

Very idiotic and expensive attempt to stop the behavior that I have never seen nor heard any complaints about in city meetings. Should have just made it one way from Williams, If I was plowing that street my blade would be raised so the 2 residents that live on the street would have fun trying to leave in a snow storm. Can we see how much that cost the city? The machinery was there almost all summer, many potholes could have been filled with the asphalt, machines and time wasted on that project. A house just sold on that street before all the construction are they the reason for it?

Marxism rears its ugly head at BART.

Why is this political nonsense allowed in the classroom?

If our elected officials in DC are globalists, wouldn’t that be the basic tenants of communism?

May I suggest you read the Communist Manifesto, in particular the three basic principles. Then think what your democRAT and RINOS are pushing the US towards.

Again, think outside the box.

Maui residents are blasting Joe Biden for his insensitive comments while visiting the area. He compared their plight to a quickly extinguished kitchen fire he had years ago, and he laughed about how hot the ground still was in the area. No mention was made of the 1,000 people still missing which include many children. One Maui resident really went off on Biden calling him a disgrace of a president among other curse words. Others had signs telling him to get out.

Nobody wants to talk about it? Get away from your pocket news sources. CNN and MSNBC, ABC, NBC have been all over it 24/7 for over a week now.

Kevin McCarthy wants all kinds of investigations to distract from his being arrested for his large art in an attempted coup to take away Americans right to vote in fair and free elections. He is, like Trump, a very desperate man right now.

Cuckoo bird time for your meds. If you look at the dots the over 200 law enforcement officials that were at the scene undercover on Jan 6th are the ones that took down the barricades before the Trump rally people even showed up. This is called entrapment as well as a well orchestrated political move to try and get rid of a political foe. So who do you think set this Jan 6th debacle up??? Nobody wants to talk about why we don’t have names for this enormous number of missing people. If they were in hotels and the hotels burned down, but still people somewhere must be looking for these people if they were guests. Not to mention the excuse for not using water on the fires is that they were worried about water equity. People are burning alive and they have been trained to worry about equity?

I read that due to the very high winds (60mph) that the fire was moving a mile a minute.. PICTURE THAT smoke was thick and everywhere…visibility in places was non existent. People had no idea which way to go. Many communication methods were already knocked out…emergency people were not even sure what was happening or where and had no idea what to tell people anyway…I read they closed some roads thinking it would be helpful but turned out it was the wrong thing to do…but they had no way of knowing that

I blame no one for any of the problems. They were caught in a hellstorm that happened so fast no one could effectively respond. Just pray for them and stop making this and every other thing in the world political. Your information sources are building on your paranoia in order to control you. And it is obviously working.

Pull your head out of Xiden’s a$$ and wake up.

I’ll pose the same questions to you SNARK, that I do Kindergarden.

(1) How many “oppressed people” have you ever helped, that wasn’t funded by a government or educational institution?

(2) How many illegal invaders are you taking into your home?

If the answer is none to both, you and K are both hypocrites and need to shut the f**k up.

If you don’t agree with them or the D’s policies, that quickly label you, “ignorant,” “racist,” “homophobic,” transphobic,” and on and on.

I always taught that was called free speech and/or a disagreement with a person.

Older, white, liberals, who growing up, never did a damn thing they advocate for now, “people of color,” “climate change,” “voter ID is racist,” but are the first people now to label those who disagree with Xiden/Obama policies.

Why don’t you guys move to Canada, China, or North Korea. They kill people who don’t agree with their government’s policies. You guys would be in utopia.

Not wanting a foolish war in Ukraine?
Wanting America energy independent?
Wanting gas price at the pumps back to $2 a gallon?
Wanting $100 to fill more than two grocery bags?
Not wanting political opponents arrested over BS?
Not wanting a two-tier justice system?
Not wanting “climate change” shoved down my throat?

Now you’re in on the TSC bandwagon about repeatedly posting about the 1/6 FEDsurrection?

I really am witnessing the thinking and aptitude level of a Level 5 Pittsfield Public Scohol graduate with everyone of your posts Snark.

If Trump was guilty of ANY of those crimes, why would the US Government not present ONE SOLID case in Federal Court, a couple of years ago or even now? FC’s are notorious for harsher sentences than state courts.

Not to mention, ask any defense attorney if it’s easier to try a massive case like that in US District Court vs. or scattered cases in different state courts.

Leaving criminal cases scattered across the country gives Trump subpoena power against lower-level state DA’s Office against DT-with the best attorneys. Think DA Wrong Way’s Office trying to prosecute a RICO case against Trump and the godfather of RICO (Rudy G).

There’s some talking points you and the other deadbeats in Section 8 housing, can chop up.

Do you enjoy opening up the obituary section of the newspaper and enjoy seeing all of the young twenty-somethings who OD’d on fentanyl.

Sarcasm:

I was surprised when one of the candidates for president in the Republican Party debate tonight said that he has a Rolodex that he would use for his economic development initiatives. Another candidate said he admired Pittsfield’s Pot King, and if his campaign fails, he will grow and sell pot on Dalton Avenue in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Another candidate said that her number one and only priority is to decriminalize sex work because everyone likes a Happy Ending. Another candidate said that mayors, governors and all of the other career politicians who live in Gated Communities should take in undocumented immigrants. Another candidate said that the $32.7 trillion national debt is no match for supply side economics and Kufflinks’ cooked books.

I thought that the candidates would have offered to cut their own public pay plus perks, but that would have been even more HOT AIR. I thought that they would have said that they would represent the common people and taxpayers instead of Wall Street in NYC and K Street in the Swamp, but they all know that running for president requires raising big buck$. If you don’t believe me, then please ask the current U.S. President named Joe Biden who raises more money from Wall Street and K Street than any other career politician in U.S. history. It pays for Joe Biden to have spent over 50 years of his corporate political career in the Swamp!

I didn’t know that Hunter Biden was so important to the nation that one of the candidates said that he would put him in prison for one decade. If Hunter Biden was behind bars, then we would have more Biden Buck$ in our pockets, and wings pasted on pigs would allow them to fly around Capitol Hill and The White House when they weren’t flying around Allen Street and Pheasant Lane. In closing, those 8 Republican Party candidates for U.S. President tonight made themselves look as good as Pittsfield politics’ 25-year-old heavily indebted and polluted PEDA debacle.

And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Trump never did anything for free in his whole life. His whole MO is ripping people off including all the suckers he gets to send him money or buy his merch.

Let’s look at Obama’s trove that he took as well as Biden’s when he wasn’t even supposed to take anything. At least with Obama he could say he was looking at things for his Presidential Library. As you mentioned before secret service covers ex-Presidents so the classified material in Mar Lago was secure unlike Biden’s which seemed to be all over DC and Penn. Oh and let’s not forget Hilary’s classified info in her closet when she was first lady, which she definitely was not suppose to have and then of course her server. I could go on but the Democrats continually mock the legal system and I would be typing all day

But Republicans are all bad, right JM?

One thing I really cannot wrap my head around is how Donald Trump’s locker room guy talk offended a man who went through (successfully) the US Army Basic Training in the 1990’s?

I’m willing to bet my house, pension, and kids, that those Army DI’s said a he!! of a lot worse than, “grab them by the pu**y.”

I served our country honorably. I received medals and commendations during my military service in the U.S. Army. I received the regards of the U.S. President George W. Bush in a letter from the White House. When I went to my VA hearing in Washington, D.C. over 19 years ago, the VA Judge stated that my hearing was ordered by President Bush. My mother was with me if you do not believe me. I am a 100 percent service connected totally and permanently disabled Veteran. I go to the VA in Manchester, NH, for my health care. I get along with my fellow Veterans and providers during my VA appointments. I am a good person. Other than Nuciforo’s over 27-yearlong vendetta against my dad and I, I don’t understand why some people say unfavorably words against me in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. I love my native hometown of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. I graduated from Pittsfield High School in June 1993, which is 30 years ago now. I still have my high school diploma from PHS. Go Generals! JM reread what I posted about you. I said you successfully completed US Army Basic Training.

It obviously didn’t toughen you up, if locker room guy talk offends you.

Or do you not like women and Trump’s comment woke up the feminine person you truly are, and you feel the need to take up women’s cause on this?

If that’s the case, I understand. I would still think basic training would have toughened you up more. But I guess not.

Like I said before, I’ve been to basic training too. And the things that came out of the DI’s mouths were much, much worse, than “grab them by the pu**y.”

Is he going to be like the empty suit Bianchi and run his business out of city hall instead of working as Mayor?

And I am sure his perks more than made up for his “little” pay. Do you even know what the job of the city council is? I will tell you that it is NOT to carry water for the mayor and special interests which is what most of them do. And as leader of the group he takes the blame. No way in hell I would vote for him.

Dear planet posters, the mayor’s race is over. The winner will be Marchetti. One of rhe options that we thought we had to elect a new and different kind of mayor has past us. We have only one other option left that will allow us our say in city government. We must hope to bring onto the council new people who are independent thinkers and will not be a rubber stamp for Marchetti. We need as much change as we can muster to rid the council of kavey and conant. We who can vote in their wards should look for write in candidates who can defeat them. It is the only option we have to get rid of them. Other councilors who must go also are persip, white, guiel. These three are some of the strongest rubber stamps for tyer and will also be rubber stamps for Marchetti. These three have competition and anyone who can cast a vote against them should try their hardest to defeat them. These suggestions are the only way to prevent another council who act as reinforcement for Marchetti whims. Anyone who can vote against these miscreants, please do. This blueprint must be followed to a tee.if it isn’t we will see our ship sink to D—-Feat. Let’s all do our part

WE NEED TO GET RID OF THE MAYOR TYPE OF GOVT IF THINGS ARE EVER TO CHANGE. THE CITY IS NOT Ready for that yet but someday it will. So what can we expect in this election. It’s going to be the same old same old. Nothing will change. I wish it were going to be a different result
but as a realist, I know it won’t. Do you think I am wrong shark. If we could somehow get those 20 000 registered non voters to the pols the results would be different. Mr.valenti and I stood on our heads for many many years trying to get these holdouts to the pols but we failed miserably. Can you or any body’s else recommend how we can get these non voters to the pols? If you can i am sure dan would be more than happy to give you full coverage on the planet and I would let you take over my show so that we can all hear and see your recomendations. In the meantime I’m sticking with my realistic observation that nothing is going to change in the political landscape in Pittsfield this election cycle.

Here another frucked up decision by the City Adminstration Public Works Department. They FINALLY are paving some of the streets off of Dalton Avenue. Low and behold neighbors noticed that on California Avenue the street was not paved in the same manner it has been for years. Turns out the City of Pits decided the street has been too wide for at least 20 years so now they are cutting it down to cut the cost of the black top and putting loam and grass seed. Does anyone from the City realize that California Avenue is well traveled by Allendale School teachers and parents and also a main cut threw for General Dynamics employees? Meanwhile, look at the wasted blacktop utilized on Denise Drive with the three huge speed bumps. How much money was spent on North Street alone making and remaking and they plan to remake again soon? Also, why were the taxpayers on Calilfornia Avenue not notified of this cut? Why did they have to find out from one of the construction workers? Where is the money from Excise taxes going? Does BowTie Kerwood know? Where is the pot money going? Does BowTie know? And lastly, can we take a poll to see what Absent Linda’s excuse will be this year for not painting the road lines and cross walks through all of the City? Where is the tax money going???

There is a saying from Alice in Wonderland, “It would be so nice if something would make sense for a change”!

Have you seen the poor city worker trying to mow all those little individual grass islands all along Tyler street? How many are there? They created a very labor intensive pain in the ass job that no one is going to enjoy doing for hours a week. This is what happens when there is no oversight or real experience on a project. This is why North street has to be reinvented every three years at taxpayer expense.

Don’t go down Williams Merry. Just saw the city paving some more sidewalks on the cut through streets between Williams and Elm. The funny thing about these sidewalks is they do not connect to anything! And for years the owners on the streets were letting their lawns grow over so they wouldn’t have to shovel. Just another example of the city not listening to the tax payers

Merry & Bright

Thanks Shirl. Curious to see how many of those sidewalks are shoveled this winter.

Took a walk with my dog to check out California Avenue. What a complete cluster, even my dog was confused, finally had to pick the dog up and carry it. Some houses have curbs, most don’t, the curbing in some places is at least 2 1/2 feet from the grass line, some curbing is blocking the sewers. Also, the city brains picked the week that school starts at Allendale to do this project, they had the whole Spring and Summer. Another funny, the city sends out a schedule each week stating the streets that will be under construction and it has yet to be abided by. As usual there is no oversight of departments under this Administration.

Dear posters. Karen will be on my show next Wednesday at 3pm on 1301 or 1303. She faces a uphill battle but in reality she is the best candidate this cycle. She is not a gobsig candidate and will share in very few of those votes. Remember there is close to 20 000 registered voters who do not vote. These registered voters could put her over the top but it’s going to take efforts on all of us to contact these non voters and get them to the pols. This will be a gigantic effort on all of us to try to wake some of these people up and get them to vote for Karen. I will do everything in my power to try to elect her including having her on my show several times before the election. If anyone has time to help her in any way contact her. Maybe a sign money greet and meet or talk to groups of people. If we don’t elect her it is going to be very rough sliding for the next 4 years in pittsfield. Do what you can. I’m sure she will be very appreciative of all out efforts. At a minimum be sure to vote for her in the upcoming primaries and general election. Former Berkshire County District Attorney was in elected office for one term over four years from 2019 – 2022. For many years prior to 2019, Pittsfield was always in the top ten cities by population in Massachusetts for violent crime every year, according to the FBI’s annual reports. So far in late-August 2023, Pittsfield is and will continue to be a city plagued by violent crime. One could draw a circle/oval around inner-city Pittsfield’s distressed neighborhoods to show where most of the city’s violent crime takes place. As for homelessness, it is an ongoing national crisis because housing prices are at a record high, while working class wages only increased by $5 dollars per week over the past 50 years. The underclass who depends on social services are not being trained to work in highly skilled living wage jobs. Pittsfield is part of the nation’s “rust belt”. Pittsfield is a very economically unequal city – if not one of the most economically unequal cities in the state and nation. Mayor Linda Tyer lives in a mansion in a Gated Community west of Berkshire Community College within a few feet of the Hancock border. 35-yearlong banker Peter Marchetti said he would have to take a pay cut to serve as Mayor, which pays an annual salary of $115,725 in fiscal year 2024, but he wants the lucrative city public pension plus perks for life. In closing, blaming Andrea Harrington does NOT let Peter Marchetti, John Krol and Karen Kalinowsky off the hook for Pittsfield’s violent crime and homelessness crises!

He is out for tyer and himself. Send him packing He shouldn’t even be able to run for dog catcher. He is 54 or so going on 15 years old. We don’t need this idiot in the mayor’s seat. He will draw support from all the LGBT factions and established gobsig networks. Remember this when you go into the voting booths. Vote for Karen. She is the only candidate without a little brain tissue

Hello greedy lobbyist Dan Bosley,

Please read the news story about the New Hampshire State Lottery SCAM:

“NH Lottery breaks all-time sales record, generating $603 million in total sales in fiscal year 2023”
The Nashua Telegraph, August 24, 2023

CONCORD – The New Hampshire Lottery broke its all-time sales record in Fiscal Year 2023, surpassing $603 million in total sales, marking a 12% or $66.5 million increase from its record high of $536.5 million set the previous year. ….

I have followed your pro-big business political turned greed-ball lobbyist careers for many years now. You are very intelligent about finance and governmental policies, which means that you know that state lotteries are the biggest and most inequitable SCAMS in history. The state lottery is nothing more than (voluntary) regressive taxation that targets the underclass, working class, and the mostly financially illiterate no- to low- to moderate-income residents. It is Robin Hood in reverse!

Greedy lobbyists like yourself like it when Massachusetts and New Hampshire state officials alike have the nerve to brag about their record profits in fiscal year 2023. It allows greedy lobbyists like yourself to legally bribe the corrupt career politicians in state government to give their wealthy clients bigger state tax breaks.

Me – a Have Not known as Jon Melle – believes that state officials are systemically mocking people such as myself, as well as my economically distressed and very unequal native hometown of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, with the state lottery. If I didn’t study public administration in graduate school many years ago now, it would all go over my head, of course.

State lawmakers market the state lottery to “Jon Melle” and “Pittsfield” to raise state revenues so that they can enrich themselves and their wealthy campaign donors at the public trough, while “Pittsfield” always receives underfunded state aid for public education and local government services.

The state lottery SCAM is the worst of both worlds for me and Pittsfield alike, while it puts money into your greedy pockets. Sarcasm: Congratulations, greed-ball!

In Truth!

Just finished watching the It’s Pittsfield Tonight’s 2nd mayoral debate. Thought Mike Daly did a good job and poised some great questions. Although one comment made by a candidate overshadowed the whole debate. That is when Pee Pee Petie stated that it was a “third grade debate”. What an insult to Mike, the other candidates but also those taxpayers that chose to watch the debate. If he had any sort of character he would issue a public apology for his comment. The last thing Pittsfield needs is another arrogant egotistical Mayor, we have suffered almost 8 years of that type of behavior with his Mama Linda who he bowed down and kissed her large butt. Also got a chuckle about him stating the 4th of July Parade will continue, we need more than a once a year parade to help to revitalize the City of Pittsfield. Thought both Karen and John came across well and have some good ideas. We need a change, arrogant PeePee Petie is not the answer. He has had his chances and has blown it for too many years.

Spot on, Merry. The “3rd Grade Class President debate” will be Marchetti’s “Aberration” and it perfectly conveys the contempt he has not only for Mike Daly but for Pittsfield voters. He thinks these debates are beneath him and that he’s earned the job. All he talks about is how qualified he is and never what he would actually DO as mayor. You’re supposed to trust that it will be all good stuff because Marchetti knows more than you.

Man Child attitude was exposed.

This ritzy gathering of millionaires with Maura Healey was crashed by climate activists. It was really looking like the event might turn violent. One elderly gentleman is yelling at the activists, “I’m gonna touch you” because he thinks the young activist was reaching for him. He is then seen being restrained from chasing the activists. The last part of the video shows a 20 year old activist being confronted by a man who says he has a completely solar home. “How does that help us?” she cries. “We’re all going to die”. He gets so frustrated with her that he says “I don’t mind if you do die”. Another elderly man tells her “I’m going to die a lot quicker than you are”.  It’s sad just how brainwashed these young people are because the culture and the schools have so indoctrinated them that they are really unstable. It’s no wonder so many young people are having mental health problems because they are being fed so much negativity about an apocalyptic ending from climate change.

Uh huh. Just how big is Rubertos presence behind the scenes? I do remember that when he became mayor taxes started climbing high and fast. Wish someone could get the charts year by year to prove that. But not expecting city hall to easily provide that stuff even though they are public record. And they seem to have been climbing exponentially ever since. No oversight. No audit. Not going to happen with Krol or Marchetti either.

And this is why any reputable money manager would discourage owning private property in Pittsfield if you are middle income trying to raise a family. If you do you will be living paycheck to paycheck and better hope you do not need money for an emergency unless you have good credit to take out a loan you will be paying for years.

The Maui fires in Hawaii have been determined to have been caused by the failure of the electric company to shut down power lines in a red alert situation with high winds and dry conditions. Three separate power lines that sparked created the massive fires. Ed Markey, our own ancient Mass. politician, insisted we must act quickly to stop climate change. It’s not enough for Markey or others on the far left that billions have already been put toward climate change. Hawaii also doesn’t manage its grasslands at all after years of declining agriculture. Add to that the lack of warning sirens and the refusal to use water for “equity reasons” and you come to the inescapable conclusion that human error caused this massive loss of life.

Just checked the Mass. Ethics Commission website and if Krol becomes mayor, he will be in violation of at least 4 conflict of interest rules. As mayor he sits on the School Committee as a voting member, and since his wife works for the PPS that would put him in direct violation of the conflict of interest laws.

Does that mean that Pittsfield’s Pot King’s use of his political connections in Pittsfield and Boston since early-2017 will be subject to the Massachusetts “Ethics” Commission’s conflict of interest rules, too? I thought that the state’s “ethics” laws only applied to the “John Krols” of the political world! I thought that the tens of billions of dollars in state tax breaks that the corrupt career politicians in Boston’s corrupt and secretive Statehouse giveaway to their wealthy big business campaign donors during every two-year state legislative session was “ethical” so long as the elites all get rich at the public trough, while we “Kapanskis” all get poorer. What about Massachusetts’ billionaire John Forbes Kerry, who in the first couple of months of 2021 had millions of dollars in investments in the oil and gas industry prior to becoming the nation’s first climate change envoy who travels around the world in his gas guzzling private jet? John Kerry is “ethical” because his Green New Deal policies have more than doubled energy prices in the U.S.A., while the U.S. Government sells its oil reserves to India and China and Joe Biden fist bumps MBS in Saudi Arabia on the world stage. If John Krol is “unethical”, then he must not have the class and status of Pittsfield’s Pot King all the way up to John Kerry and Joe Biden!

Karen Kalinowsky collects a city public pension plus perks. If she is elected to the position of the Mayor of Pittsfield politics, Karen Kalinowsky will collect the mayoral salary of $115,725 per fiscal year 2024 with future public pay raises through fiscal year 2027, which would be on top of her city pension public pay. After Karen Kalinowsky would retire as the would-be Mayor of Pittsfield politics, her city pension would double in public pay. Karen Kalinowsky’s OPEB plus city public pension costs would cost taxpayers around $4 million if she lives to an old age of at least 85 years old. To be clear, the only winner in this scheme would be Karen Kalinowsky. That is NOT “Budget smart spirit” or “Budget by necessity”! Rather, it is a local politician enriching herself at the public trough.

What is the deal with MAIL IN VOTING? How does one get the ballot in time for the election? Does the city automatically send them out or do you have to jump through hoops to get one?

I did vote by mail in the past but seems like the ballot was mailed to me without asking. Are they on the way? Can one or more of the candidates answer this Q soon?

Seem like there could be certain candidates (Krol/Marchetti) that might benefit from a poorly rolled out mail in voting effort in the PRIMARY. Karen might benefit most. Hope she can push this so that the elderly who would rather not travel to vote can do it and do it early. The PRIMARY date is coming up fast and we need to get the word out to those unaware of it. My guess is that there are a bunch of folk who would not make the effort to vote (especially in Pittsfield) if they have to travel but might very well if they could just mail it in from home. i.e. handicapped, elderly and those with poor mobility.
