KROL PROMISES TO GO AFTER ‘CORRUPTION’ IN CITY GOVERNMENT … ‘We know that clearly, there are very powerful interests in this city that do not want me to be mayor’

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY OCT. 2, 2023) — Mayoral candidate John Krol is auditing a crash course in crisis management at the University of Hard Knox. Grading, THE PLANET has learned, will be Pass/Fail.

Pass and he’s the next mayor. Fail and he’s out. Meanwhile, Peter Marchetti remains teacher’s pet.

Krol made the mistake of chasing the criticism, playing into the hands of those who were looking to bait him. Nothing Krol could have done would change the “embezzlement” story arc, and he should have never provided personal financial records. Even after they showed the problem stemmed from a banking error, his attackers pretzeled everything against him.

What should he have done?

  1. Krol should have gone on the attack. God knows there’s plenty of material.
  2. See (1) above.

Specifically, he should have never walked into the Eagle newsroom this week and certainly not without his lawyer.

“I walked into the Berkshire Eagle  in good faith this week, and my hope was to clear the air with the documents that I had,” Krol said Saturday night on his Facebook Live broadcast. “Instead of having a nice conversation where we could go through everything, it turned into a two hour and 15 minute grill fest that included one reporter, two editors, and [publisher] Fred Rutberg.”

Gang banging, they call it.

“And they were grilling me over issue after issue including new info I had never received [that the newspaper received] from unnamed sources.” What sources? Krol didn’t say, but he implied “my accountant.” Back in the day, Krol’s business accountant was Barry Clairmont. Of course, that’s when everything was lovey-dovey between the now bitter rivals.

———- ooo ———-

Krol titled the podcast Setting the record straight, and moving on to real change for Pittsfield.

“Were moving on from this,” Krol said. “We’re not going to be speaking further with the Berkshire Eagle about this particular story. I came in good faith. I walked in [and] hoped to have a conversation about this, and then the conversation went to other things. There were all sorts of other accusations made during that conversation. It didn’t seem fair at all.”

He continued: “[My campaign is] good at this point. … We know that clearly there are very powerful interests in this city that do not want me to be mayor. I think that’s the bottom line. In fact, now more than ever, we need change in this city …

———————————————————

“We are going to bring in a new fresh set of eyes. We are bringing sunlight in on the financials in the city of Pittsfield. If we find any corruption happening in the city of Pittsfield we are going to address it immediately and take proper action on that.” [We are] “standing up to the Powers that Be.”

——————————————————————–

“We are going to have the most transparent financial city under my administration. We are going to have a new director of finance that’s going to come outside the political establishment [of] Pittsfield Massachusetts. We are going to bring in an outside auditor that has never done work with the city of Pittsfield before. Also I want to have an auditor for the federal ARPA dollars. That’s 45mm dollars.  … there’s something wrong there. There something wrong there.”

Krol later told THE PLANET “we will do a full review of records (communications, emails, etc,) involving all ARPA activity, including among members of the secret committee, city staff, and those who received ARPA funding.”

“We are going to bring in a new fresh set of eyes. We are bringing sunlight in on the financials in the city of Pittsfield. If we find any corruption happening in the city of Pittsfield we are going to address it immediately and take proper action on that.” [We are] standing up to the Powers that Be.”

How has the battering affected him?

“There have been some tough nights. This has been hard, devastating to my reputation. Not just politically. I mean, this is my livelihood, and when someone accuses you of the accusations that have been made against you, that’s something that is forever there and will never leave.”

Krol mentioned receiving a September 2022 text threatening him to stay out of the race, or else.

Who sent that text? Krol should name names. That’s returning fire. Not doing so is not recognizing that the gloves are off. That may be honorable, but it won’t win an election.

“We will be the campaign that stays positive, no matter what happens.”

All well and good, but it ignores a hopelessly corrupt municipal political system, its reps, and the government the form.

If he has a text of a threat not to run? Let’s either see it or say who it was? If the hinges are off the door as he says.

Chances are if anyone received a threatening text the sender used a burner phone like the criminals on TV shows use. Any guesses?

There are too many questionable people controlling Marchetti. They know he’s done very little in his 16 years on the council so he had to let his handlers dig up this smear story. He couldn’t stop them. If he becomes mayor they’ll continue to pull his strings. John Krol represent s positive change and a break from the failed Tyer policies. Let’s start talking about how the taxpayer has been getting screwed under Marchetti and Tyer. We need a change. And pension Pete isn’t that change.

Dan is right, “they” really don’t want Krol elected. Even before the Eagle hit piece there was a constant anti-Krol whisper campaign in the comments section of the Planet. This highly motivated goon squad is just a fraction of the people leeching off the Pittsfield taxpayer. Department heads, dead wood employees, kickback contractors. Anyone worried that the gravy train might end if Marchetti isn’t elected. They have all day to spend on the Planet. Maybe the first Krol audit should be internet usage by City workers?

Back in the day people used employers computers to eff the duck on the company dime. Now they can all do it on their own cell phones. Most office workers in America are effing the duck big time working about 40 percent of a week. As to Krol, he is calling for an audit etc, because he has zero credibility now and he is desperate, Why didn’t he propose this months ago?

I also believe Krol is talking audit because he is desperate and has no other alternative but to promise the moon. But, even with all his baggage, and it seems substantial, if he could guarantee me that he would definitely do a deep dive all encompassing audit of the whole city, I would drag my ass to a voting both and vote for him.

But I do not know how he could convince me because the one thing he is famous for is spinning word salads until they are dry and ready to eat. And I felt that way long before the Eagle came after him like a pit bull that had missed several meals

That promise is very compelling. Talking ARPA, the ARPA is mostly accounted for in its waste and abuse; but there remain two years to actually distribute it. If he were to audit and review, there could be some recovery.

Why did he not run on that?He would have won.He better spend every minute of his campaign calling out for audits of every department. He might still get my vote but he needs to fight for that vote by telling people that it’s time for Pittsfield to get a handle on the cash they spend. No new positions or programs.Cut the 200 million budget by 1 dollar and he gets my vote.He needs to stop being a politician and get an agenda of fiscal responsibility through a clean slate audit at any price.

John Krol’s calls for reforms to Pittsfield politics and City Hall ring hollow because he has the endorsement of Jimmy Ruberto aka Rolodex, who was Pittsfield’s Snake Oil Salesman Mayor of Pittsfield who himself never owned a home, nor did he ever rent an apartment, in Pittsfield in his life, but he often used to tell residents and small businesses to sacrifice, which meant big municipal spending increases, including during the 2008 economic recession, which was the single worst recession since the Great Depression in the 1930s.

Compared to Mayors (the late) Gerry Doyle aka Barstool, Sara Hathaway aka Aberration turned Level 5 Schoolmarm, the aforementioned Rolodex, Dan Bianchi aka Bust who also works for Montello Energy, Mayor Linda Tyer is the only good Mayor over the past generation of stinkers. Mayor Linda Tyer is well regarded by state and local officials throughout Massachusetts. Mayor Linda Tyer inherited a mess from Dan Bianchi. Mayor Linda Tyer stabilized the city’s municipal finances. I refuse to judge Mayor Linda Tyer because of her litigious third CPA husband Barry Clairmont.

I hope that Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey will hire Linda Tyer to complement her administration because Linda Tyer is an effective public manager who actually knows what she is doing in state and local government. John Krol was once friends and allies with Mayor Linda Tyer, but now he is criticizing her because she endorsed his opponent, Peter Marchetti for Mayor of Pittsfield in 2023.

I would be very upset with how things are going if I were in John Krol’s shoes, too, because he is being treated unfairly by the Dirty Bird (Berkshire Eagle) and conspiratorially by his opposition. I have experienced similar events throughout my adult life of 48 years rhus far in Pittsfield politics, too. It upsets me on a personal level, too. My heart goes out to John Krol, but he is NOT above scrutiny as a political candidate for Mayor of Pittsfield. John Krol knows what he got into when he began his middle-age political comeback in Pittsfield politics.

I have heard rumors about Peter Marchetti for decades, too. In 2006, I was told that Peter Marchetti spread rumors about me – as I am his relative as my late maternal grandmother’s maiden name is Marchetti – in Pittsfield politics, despite me living in Southern New Hampshire back then through present times. Peter Marchetti has been known to engage in dirty politics, despite all of the rumors spread about him in Pittsfield politics over many years now.

To be clear: I support Mayor Linda Tyer and I think she has been the best Mayor of Pittsfield in my adult lifetime. John Krol is off base to use her to divert the unfair political attacks he has received over the past couple of weeks. This could be an episode in the series: The Twilight Zone. It has turned into an ugly mayoral election campaign in 2023 Pittsfield politics.

I live in Southern New Hampshire, but I would NEVER support John Krol in Pittsfield politics because of his allegiance to Jimmy Ruberto. That leaves me supporting my aforementioned family relative Peter Marchetti, but he is not a good candidate for Mayor of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, either.

Time to stop covering for him Dan. His story deserved to be questioned and you wouldn’t do it. You and he are put out because the Eagle grilled him as they should. And his story doesn’t stand up to questioning. To believe his story would take a huge leap of faith but it would still mean he was incompetent handling his finances to the nth degree and not fit to be Mayor. It’s funny that a guy who should have his own finances audited is now trying to make a stand by saying he will have the city’s finances audit. Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?

I agree he should have been investigated by the police when it happened, but we can only deal with the present. This is the second time you have raised the fact that because they didn’t hold it against him in a divorce proceeding, it is deemed settled and that is a complete misdirection and you are way too smart not to know that. They were settling a divorce proceeding not deeming if a candidate was worthy of public office. I will agree the Eagle should have given him at least 24 hours to respond initially, but since then they have given him more than enough time and the more he talks, the guiltier he seems.

“We’re discussing how information that had been put to rest to everyone’s satisfaction should now “suddenly” come forward, the day after the prelim”.

And there you go again making wildly presumptive statements. I’ll bet 99.9% of the people in this city never heard about this until the Eagle reported on it, so I’m pretty confident that almost no one would agree this has been put to rest with everyone’s satisfaction. And the answers he has given have been incomplete and only raised more questions, so of course I don’t like the answers. And if this were anyone else like Andrea Harrington you’d be having a field day with it instead of covering for Krol in every way possible. The only thing I will agree with is that the Marchetti team, with Pete’s knowledge or not, waited until the most opportune time to spring the news but that’s the way the cookie crumbles. It doesn’t absolve John from his actions.

What is most of you are correct in all of your assumptions from both sides of the aisle?

  • Was it a political hit piece? Absolutely, politically speaking it was a nuclear warhead and it probably did its job. There are no rules in politics and the players are shadier than underneath the Tanglewood at Lenox. Are you people REALLY surprised it happened?
  • John, for all of his better qualities, partially caused this himself. It’s politics and his past behaviors have opened him up for critique (as any politician does)
  • While it’s personal, it speaks to his character. Now I am not saying Marchetti isn’t lacking in this department, but John’s story isn’t adding up and it’s obvious. Had he simply admitted his error and moved on he might have had a shot. Instead, as you put it, he chased criticism and burnt himself more. That speaks volumes as to the kind of mayor he might be… you need thick skin and patience.
  • Was it settled in divorce court? Probably so there is no need to scream criminal charges, they were never filed. In a criminal sense it’s over and done with.
  • Marchetti is aware of certain rumors and whispers, but I am almost positive he was NOT in the know about this coming out, especially when it did. Is he innocent in other respects? Probably not
  • Krol was on the council for close to a decade with Marchetti. He always made sure he was front and center for anything especially photo ops. For people to crap on Marchetti’s Tenure and ignore Krol is ridiculous. They voted the same 90% of the time on 90% of the issues
  • this is turning into a proxy war between divorcees. This is our Vietnam

Here’s how we run a write in and win.
Declare a third party option.
Call the party WINK, for write in Karen ( or it could stand for right in new klowncilors, write in (a) new kid, whatever).
Get the signs made up and onto the lawns.
And now here’s what’s going to win it:
Campaign in Morningside and the Westside, and campaign HARD. Keep the campaign focus on those two neighborhoods. Get those voters to the polls.
Knock, the doors and then knock the doors again. And again. Until you’re knuckles are bleeding from knocking all those doors.
Talk to the people, and then talk to them again.
Get your campaign headquarters tf off of North Street where everybody’s scared to go anyway, and into one of those neighborhoods with a smaller branch campaign office in the other neighborhood.
Don’t be for the people, be WITH the people.
And, ffs, you really want to put the fear into the two current candidates start registering voters. Legit voters,
Oh, and John? NObody wants you to be mayor; your votes are all going to be the lesser of two evil votes. And Pete? Same.
Oh wait I forgot the best part! The campaign slogan: No Re- Pete.

Climate on this blog and across social medias where we are finally saying what everybody’s been thinking, this may be theone time in political history where a write in ncandidate would have a fighting chance.
However, we are a community that suffers from learned helplessness and as a result are still too cowardly to take on the GOBSIGS enmasse, at the polls, and when we take that into account of course a write in candidate in Pittsfield will not even post respectable numbers, even though we have the seemingly perfect storm of events for electing an unexpected candidate
I have a friend who describes human nature thusly: if you are thinking it you are close to saying it, and if you say it you are really close to doing it.
Should his hypothesis hold true this means 4 years from now we vote in radical change to the corner office and the city council chambers.
But 4 years is like baseball; anything can happen.

You cannot vote in change if the option is not there in front of you. This election illustrates the ongoing predicament of Pittsfield. If you have no real change candidates you cannot vote for change. I am amused by this line…”we need to vote them all out”, because if the ones lined up to take their place are from the same mold nothing is going to change.

In some cities, the majority of candidates for mayor or city council, or school committee, are birthed by the special interests who dig them out of the community based on their profile and usefulness to them. They encourage them to run, perhaps with incentives, back their campaigns and suggest how they may vote on any given issue once elected. And it is very sad for those city’s.

But it could send a message. What is to lose?

But we might want to work on a way to have some measure of accountability going forward. Marchetti was against it and Pet Pete White will be against it so we need to be creative. Probably has to come from outside the city council since the majority of them are just mini puppets attached to the Papa Puppet who is attached to the shadow folk who steer the whole ship from the fog.

Krol was Council VP and never did he suggest auditing the city’s finances. His mayoral goal of “rooting out corruption” is the typical political crap that comes up when someone runs for a high paying political position. Now that he is allegedly involved with embezzling money from the cat charity, it’s the “look over here and not at me” diversion.

I have yet to read anyone, including The Dirty Bird (Berkshire Eagle) and Planet Valenti, affirm your civil lawsuit and settlement of $140,000. Your second wife, Mayor Linda Tyer, should have issued a statement saying that while she loves her third husband, CPA Barry Clairmont, she denounces your use of retribution in Pittsfield politics over Melissa Mazzeo exercising Free Speech!

He evidently didn’t get enough of a settlement from Mazzeo so now it is Krol’s turn. He is the king of the dynasty that has ruined Pittsfield and Marchetti will continue to do what he is told by the dynasty. As far as I can see the taxpayers do not have a worthy candidate for mayor, we are screwed again. The only way Pittsfield can rebuild is to hire a city manager and get rid of the mayorship and worthless city council.

But did you know that he had tried to pay the DOR from the Animal Dreams account because somebody somewhere was notified and late fees started to accrue after 30 days…. This is where the story gets icky. Somebody must have been notified. These excise tax bills did get paid according to Krol but he just doesn’t know how. Hmmm. Of course he does and it is a critical piece to the story. Let’s put an end to this once and for all, let Barry speak like Krol had originally promised stating he would give consent for Barry to speak on behalf of this situation but quickly kiboshed that idea and went on to state “No, you (The Eagle) do not have my permission to talk to Barry Clairmont in regard to confidential issues involving my business or personal finances.” I sure do wonder what Mr. Clairmont could/would have contributed here. Unfortunately we may never know because Barry can not disclose due to their business-client relationship. But you can bet that he potentially is holding all the cards to how this race could/should end and that is probably a bit nerve-racking for Krol.

You can accuse a ham sandwich, and then you can indict a ham sandwich, but only a constitutional court of law with a Judge and Jury of one’s peers can convict a ham sandwich of embezzlement. This is a hatchet job to blackball John Krol in Pittsfield politics, which he says will cause harm to his reputation and career. John Krol is looking at suing the named and unnamed actors in this political hit job. Pittsfield politics is always in a downward spiral….

I agree that JK should have never brought his financial records for the Eagle to look over without the advice of an attorney. I even posted this same advice a few blog posts ago. This whole incident is still within the statute of limitations for a financial crime.

I think Rutberg being a former lawyer and judge did JK a disservice by not advising him first. Like I said, Free’um Freddy used to be a judge, he knows the rule of law. He should have advised JK he was potentially opening himself up to unwanted legal scrutiny by allowing the Eagle unfettered access to him and his financial records.

Since the Eagle has now unveiled their “Investigative Reports” section, I emailed them this morning and asked if they would look into the African trip that the Cultural Competency Coach took with friends and family recently, allegedly on taxpayer ARPA money. If this is true, this trip was well over $6,800. This trip is likely approaching the $20,000 to $25,000 range in possible fraudulent activity.

I would love to see the Eagle delve into the receipts, emails, and all paperwork, associated with this trip.

I would like to know how she came up with the funding for this trip for a party of more than five people, on a Cultural Competency Coach’s salary.

I won’t hold me breathe waiting for that “investigative report.”

Actually we have she said, he did. He did provide the Animal Dreams account number to both Barry and AMEX. He apparently did nothing when for four years in a row the Animal Dreams payment to the DOR was rejected (how many times do you need that to happen before you try to figure out what’s going on). He made six payments from the Animal Dreams account to his AMEX that he claims was a mistake, yet never notices his own account miraculously never goes down, even though he is up against it financially and counting every penny. Those aren’t things he said, they are things he did.

Krol is running for a position that holds the public’s trust. As such, it is critical that an issue like this is needs to be properly explained whether it is adjudicated or not. Then the voters can decide. He doesn’t get to say “I wasn’t charged so I you just have to take my word that it was a mistake”. That’s not how the real world works.

And by the way, even in court, people aren’t found innocent, they are found not guilty. OJ was was found not guilty. Does anyone believe he was innocent?

Otherwise, preparing a defense or attack requires way more than dotting i’s. You go to court at your own risk: you have no idea what will come up.
———
Completely unrelated material to my point, but needs to be read:

RE: J6 and the Law (formatting mine)
“By way of introduction, my name is Adam Johnson — but most people know me as “the Lectern Guy.”

On Jan. 6, 2021, I kind of broke the internet after I was photographed smiling and waving as I was carrying then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s podium through the Capitol rotunda. Suffice it to say, the authorities did not look kindly on what I did, and I was later arrested.

Eventually, I was transferred to a courtroom after four days in isolation to be met by Assistant United States Attorney Patrick Scruggs for my arraignment in Tampa. I had the opportunity to brush my teeth and shower for the first time in days that morning and was hoping to make a good impression. His freshly pressed suit and American flag pin fixed to his lapel evoked a sense of due respect. I was the criminal here today.
The magistrate read the complaint, while I sat contrite. Scruggs was adamant in his insistence that “Everyone should be held accountable for their crimes.” It seemed reasonable enough to me. I had made the inexcusable decision to enter a building through open doors and carefully move furniture without permission. For these transgressions, Scruggs implored the magistrate to set conditions of my release to match my supposed crimes.

My firearms and passport were confiscated, I received a nightly curfew, and I was ordered to wear an ankle monitor, be drug tested at random, and not travel beyond a few select counties in my state.

At the time I was unsure if it was excessive. I was just happy to be back home with my family. I might have even been thankful. This man, Patrick Scruggs, had deemed me worthy to reside with my family and be among the public.

He must be one of the good ones, I thought.

But on Sept. 26, 2023, Patrick Scruggs was arrested and charged for brutally attacking a motorist with a deadly weapon during a road rage incident. He allegedly stabbed another motorist with a pocket knife. Within 24 hours, Scruggs posted bail with no conditions set for his release.

What I am saying is that, although no one has raised the possibility of Krol’s account being hacked or otherwise manipulated by someone, raising it as a possible factor results in a very large number of possibilities, too many to consider or enumerate. One could say: Krol’s enemies hacked his account and made deposits or withdrawals not authorized by Krol. Or his kids found his account number, went in, and played havoc. Too many possibilities. It makes it seem like you are really stretching to find Krol innocent.

Well, at least we now see a Krystal clear difference between Marchetti and Krolio, you can be damn sure Petey isn’t going to toss out his buddy Kufflinks and your also can be damn sure he ain’t going to do a true audit. Petey bumped that chance with his big belly last year by stacking the committee with himself, Kufflnks and ramming it through the council to keep Scanlon. Not a fan of Krol, but at least he’s got the balls to do what needs to be done.

LOGIC:
Words & actions = two different things.
-1(Words & actions) = -1(two different things)
Therefore:
Not word & not Action = Not two different things (same thing)

This equation is why E-Prime suggest avoiding the equality sign (verb to be) except when equality is reasonable. You make logical statements that don’t make sense.

You need to understand this kind of logic to be a lawyer. But, it also helps in programming.

Krol didn’t even know he was giving the Eagle more evidence of his Kitty Kash Kaper.
Now he’s kalling for an audit?
I don’t remember him ever kalling for an audit when he was a city kouncilor.
Now he klaims he was threatened? Krol would have led with that first if it were true!

After the Eagle, he has proven himself to be a fool and not smart, he can’t do basic math and doesn’t understand banking at all.

When reached for comment, Kennedy’s campaign pointed to a video released on Friday that announced his Philadelphia rally next month.
Kennedy has blasted the DNC over the last few months for not wanting a “real primary” and turning the rules and presidential primary schedule against him in favor of President Joe Biden.”

“States that decide to go out of the primary calendar order can see their delegates cut by 50%, and candidates who campaign in the state won’t receive any delegates, according to rules passed by the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee last August.”

Anybody here with family members who served in the military? Well, here is what the Donald thinks of them or you.

The details of Kelly’s statement include alleged remarks Donald Trump made while president, and specifically underscore the insensitive nature of those made about U.S. service members and veterans.
“A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform, or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat, or spend years being tortured as POWs are all ‘suckers’ because ‘there is nothing in it for them,'” Kelly continued. “A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because ‘it doesn’t look good for me.’ A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family – for all Gold Star families – on TV during the 2016 campaign, and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America’s defense are ‘losers’ and wouldn’t visit their graves in France.”

https://www.foxnews.com/us/watch-kansas-98-year-old-makes-1st-amendment-stand-deputies-raid-home-get-out-my-house

“Joan Meyer, the 98-year-old co-owner of a storied Kansas newspaper who died the day after police served search warrants on her home and office, appears on newly unveiled surveillance video shouting at officers to get out of her living room.
“Don’t you touch any of that stuff,” she says at the start of the minute-long clip, wearing a robe and slippers and standing behind a walker.
“Ma’am,” one officer begins, before she cuts him off barking, “This is my house!”
Meyer’s son, Marion County Record Publisher Eric Meyer, made the clip public Tuesday after a state official said an online search cited as a reason for the raid was not a crime.”

“”How many computers do you have in the house, ma’am?” an officer asks at another point in the video.
“I’m not gonna tell you,” Meyer replies, pushing past him with her walker. “Get out of my way.”

Re: Disgraced former Pittsfield State Senator Andrea F. Nuciforo Jr.’s Berkshire Roots Pot Kingdom is suing Pittsfield

Nuciforo’s lawsuit against the city, Pittsfield, that he once represented on Beacon Hill in Boston demands that the city pay Berkshire Roots back $440,000 or justify the costs the impact fees paid for. If the city, Pittsfield, is found by the Berkshire Superior Court to not have incurred any costs by Nuciforo’s pot company Berkshire Roots, Nuciforo’s Berkshire Roots’ lawsuit demands that the city, Pittsfield, must repay the impact fees with interest, unspecified damages, and attorney fees.  Mayor Linda Tyer said that the city, Pittsfield, will “vigorously” defend itself in court. The city denies breaching the agreement, and says it has complied with state cannabis laws and regulations.

Mayor Linda Tyer, who only has 3 months left in elected office, should legally fight Nuciforo’s Berkshire Roots in court. She should tell her city hired Attorneys that Nuciforo purchased a $950,000 mansion this past Summer 2023, which shows that Nuciforo’s’ Berkshire Roots is a profitable marijuana business in Pittsfield, as well as in Boston. Mayor Linda Tyer should tell her city hired Attorneys that Nuciforo is a disgraced former Pittsfield State Senator that was in bed with Boston’s big banks and insurance companies in the mid-2000s, which led to the end of his corrupt political career in Pittsfield and Boston.

Barrel belly. I agree no major renovations at wahconah Park at this time. Bills there will exceed 50 million. Bring in Army Corp of engineers to do study of meander routes of Housatonic river. This needs to be done before a penny is spent there. Solving a problem there will create massive problems for king street neighborhood and open up all kinds of law suits. THE CITY IS IN DIRE STRAITS in financial matters and the city tax payers can not take a 50 million dollar hit at this time or ever in the future without solid guarantees from designers and construction companies that the project will be fully guaranteed to be 100% viable after construction. With taxes and W/S rates expected to rise thru the roof city taxpayers can not even remotely afford this project. For the short term re stabilize the support girders beneath the grand stand seats and deliver fans via boat in the parking area to the stadium grand stand. We are new Englanders and we know how to improvize. This is one time when we should improvise to save a fortune. When and if we reach solvency here in Pittsfield we can revisit this project. We have used the park for years and we can with a relatively small investment continue to use our beloved wahconah park
.let’s exhibit our frugalness in this project and all future large dollar projects. Let’s work at lowering our property taxes and stop funding projects we really don’t need
A note to all, watch what happens to your property taxes coming up and your W/S rates. They are going to be killer amounts and only by saying no to exorbitant raises,—– some of you may not have to move away

They didn’t. That is just the way they rolled it out. Remember the Beacon theater? Colonial theater? Airport renovations? They all came out with estimate X and then mysteriously ballooned into mega millions.

Keep in mind that construction materials are at an all time high right now. As is labor and design work.

Marchetti, who is drooling to be your next mayor, did not question any part of this rollout. (and he won’t) if he wants the mayors backing to be mayor. He may be a poor candidate for mayor but is a good boy and does what he is told.

No oversight. No concern for the taxpayer whatsoever. And do not look to the press for help. They are not going there either. They have NEVER been the taxpayers advocate and never will be.

Questions for Barry C
If hypothetically you had a client that tried to use a not for profit’s Kash to pay their corporate excise bills for 2016-2019, and the claimed that as a deductible expense on their Federal tax returns, is that tax fraud? Or can they go back and amend their tax returns?

If they received an advance for work yet to be completed [and maybe never completed] is that a gift? Income? How would that be reported?

Is it true that if you report a principal of a defunct company for suspected fraud to the IRS and DOR they will go after them even if the company is closed?
Is it true that you can get a “finders fee” for reporting so one to the DOR and IRS?

After a lengthy day of arguments and spirited political sentiments, the House of Representatives has voted to remove Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., as the Speaker of the House. After holding the speakership for just a few months, and in the wake of Rep.
