PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, WEDNESDAY DEC. 20, 2013) — It’s time for the government of Israel and the Israel Defense Force (IDF) to stop playing victims.

Note THE PLANET says “government.” The decent people of the Jewish nation do not want the mindless killing. Neither do the majority of Palestinians. Human decency was the victim of Hamas on Oct. 7. The irrational mix of weaponized politics, power, religion and money (most from the United States) fed the brutal response. Now, Israel has lost control of its IDF, judged by the military’s continued atrocities.

———- ooo ———-

IDF’s genocidal assault on innocent, defenseless Palestinian civilians, makes no sense on any level. Politically, diplomatically, strategically — there’s no way to triangulate a justification for the slaughter in Gaza.

From the Associated Press:

JERUSALEM — Israeli forces killed two women who were taking shelter at a church in the Gaza Strip on Saturday afternoon, Catholic authorities said.

The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, an ecclesiastical office for the Latin Catholics in the region, in a statement identified the victims — a mother and daughter — by their first names only and said they were “shot in cold blood.”

A sniper from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) shot the women at the Holy Family Parish in Gaza, where the majority of Christian families in Gaza have taken refuge during the war, according to the patriarchate’s statement.

“Nahida and her daughter Samar were shot and killed as they walked to the Sister’s Convent,” the patriarchate said, referring to a building in the parish complex. “One was killed as she tried to carry the other to safety. Seven more people were shot and wounded as they tried to protect others inside the church compound. No warning was given, no notification was provided. They were shot in cold blood inside the premises of the Parish, where there are no belligerents.”

The IDF did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and The Washington Post could not immediately verify the details of the patriarchate’s report.

Of course the IDF did not respond. How does one justify cold-blooded murder of three escaped Israeli hostages, who were waving white flags and begging, in Hebrew, for help?

———- ooo ———-

Israel has now killed 18,000 Palestinians, most of them innocent civilians. 200,000 have been injured, and 90% of the 2.3 million Gaza population have been uprooted from their homes.

Let this sink in. Picture yourself in that situation.

From Bloomberg:

The United Nations General Assembly voted overwhelmingly to demand a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, underscoring a sharp shift in sentiment that’s left Israel and the US increasingly isolated over the military campaign to destroy Hamas.

The General Assembly adopted the non-binding resolution by a vote of 153 to 10, with 23 nations abstaining. The Czech Republic and Austria were the only two European Union nations that voted against the resolution. The resolution demanded an immediate humanitarian cease-fire and an immediate release of all hostages.

Last week, the US vetoed a Security Council resolution that would have called for a cease-fire to the war, which began after Hamas fighters attacked Israel on Oct. 7, killed some 1,200 people and took 240 more hostage. Israeli forces responded with a punishing military campaign that the Hamas-run Health Ministry says has killed some 18,000 people. The US doesn’t have veto power in the larger General Assembly.

———- ooo ———-

And briefly, just today, a couple headlines from Reuters (with hot links):

  • Israel kept pounding the shattered Gaza Strip while Yemen’s pro-Palestinian Houthi movement vowed to defy a US-led naval mission and keep hitting Israeli targets in the Red Sea.
  • A number of container ships are anchored in the Red Sea and others have turned off tracking systems as traders adjust routes and prices in response to maritime attacks by Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis.

As the worldwide calls for ceasefire continue, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has tripled down, vowing to continue the butchery. THE PLANET rejects his justifications.

A child will cry.

A mother will beg for mercy.

An old man will hold out his hand for aid.

A young man will be starving.

The IDF will bury them all under concrete and rubble.

Do you dare question it?

Since the creation of the state of Israel, the Palestinians and their neighbors have continually attempted to overthrow the state and take them over. Picture you grew up in a state where bombs rained down continually throughout your life, you never had the sense of safety. How would you respond 80 years later when you witnessed a barbaric murder spree at a gala? Then you go into the neighboring country who have taken your citizens hostage while raping them and beating them up. You notice they blend in with the crowds, You also see tunnels built under the city. You can’t tell me the citizens of this area didn’t know what their government was doing, yet they never let the Israeli government know so they could of handled it. I don’t condone what is happening in the middle east but I am living in a rather safe place so I don’t believe anyone over here can make a comment/ As for the UN I say send in the UN police led by the Chinese and Russian troops and sprinkle in some other choice countries, I say good luck it’s been an atrocious place to live for thousands of years and I do not see it improving.

Gaza, Ukraine, even Hunter, all to distract us from the destruction of our Country. Invasion of the border, political prisoners, losing our right to vote for who we want. Democracy in the US is under attack.

I read that and then I think to posts from Kindergarden, JM, Snark, and TSC, who chose China Joe Xiden and our current day situation, both domestically and abroad, because mean tweets and locker-room guy talk, offended them or didn’t bring “honesty and honor” to other world leaders.

In Kindergarden’s own words, he stated Trump didn’t bring “honesty and honor” to the world stage. He offers nothing to back this claim up though.

I disagree: no wars, affordable groceries, gas, home loans, low inflation, low interest rates, a secure border, fentanyl not ravaging our country, free speech, gay porn and drag shows out of elementary school aged children’s view, that certainly fits the bill for “honesty and honor,” in my book.

Markus, I’m quite sure there’s nothing I could say that would make you feel closer to the way I feel about it. But that’s ok, because what you and your compadres say don’t really change my basic positions on these issues, even if what you say does increase my level of empathy for you guys.

But, I’ll say it anyway. Leaders in Europe and the Middle East have no respect for the T-man because his words are disingenuous and self-serving. Putin would love to have him back in power because he supports Putin and is easy for Putin to manipulate. Finland has joined NATO with Biden’s support while Trump would defund it and close it down. Trump would pull back from the world stage with his isolationist policies leaving a power vacuum happily filled by Putin and Xi Jinping. Our allies cannot rely on Trump because he doesn’t follow standard state department policy and is therefore unpredictable.

Affordable groceries, gas, home loans, low inflation and low interest rates are pre-Covid phenomena that have zero to do with Trump.

No wars, of course, because Trump caves and gives the other side what it wants.

Trump wouldn’t be able to solve the border, fentanyl and immigration problems, and his enacting government control of drag shows and women’s freedom is where you and I profoundly disagree.

I know you see these arguments as offering nothing to back the claim that Trump didn’t bring “honesty and honor” to the world stage. What Trump does bring is hope to people like you, Pat, etc. contributors to this board – hope that things will be better with him in charge. That is the function of Dan’s blogsite – to provide a forum for the disaffected – a function that it fulfills nicely.

Xi stated he never trusted Trump, because he (Xi) could not predict Trump’s next move.

Translation for you simpletons: Trump’s not bought and paid for like the rest of our “leaders” are and we (China) don’t own and control him.

But sure K, keep telling yourself Trump was easily manipulated by other world leaders.

If you think drag shows should be shown to elementary aged children, you are a pedophile. Pure and simple. That’s was NEVER allowed in your and/or my day and it should stay that way.

Do the words adult entertainment mean anything to you? Or is it just far left-leaning agenda driven?

Markus, calling me a simpleton? You know shit.

Xi Jinping has no respect for Trump, and neither does Putin.

Trump is bought and paid for by Putin, and is susceptible to Putin’s flattery.

I don’t think drag shows should be shown to elementary school children.

Adult entertainment is for adults, pure & simple.

I know you have a PhD degree Kindergarden. May I suggest you brush up on reading comprehension.

My fourth paragraph, which addresses drag shows, starts with the word “If.” I did not call you a pedo. I said, “If you think…” Huge difference my friend.

Xi has “no respect for Trump,” according to you. How do you explain this?

Xi told Biden he plans to take Taiwan — peacefully if possible (nypost.com)

Don’t quite remember Xi telling Trump he had plans to “take Taiwan,” during Trump’s presidency. Our military is stretched then and weak, what an opportunity for Xi. Not to mention our current “leaders” are all bought and paid for by China.

Reread my third paragraph above and keep repeating it to yourself K. Maybe one day you might actually believe the BS you try and pass off to us. We certainly don’t.

I never said you called me a pedo. You’re the one who needs to reread.

I have worked with Chinese intel since before you could ride a bicycle. I have lived in Taiwan and speak the local S. Min dialect. Xi is not about to talk Taiwan politics seriously with a dummy loser like Trump. Trump understands about as much about the PRC-Taiwan military situation as he does about elementary particles in quantum physics.

I will match my reading comprehension skills up against yours any day.

It’s hard to measure cost alone at the check out line though. The impact of tariffing the goods of competitors and enemies seeks to balance trade and increase domestic wealth: manufacturing jobs and domestic insulation against foreign generated chaos.

Our trade deals with Mexico and Canada were a sell out of domestic labor and agriculture. They shipped us their goods, we shipped them our factories. The Canadian ripoff was largely in unfair agri export regulation. We had to buy their stuff, they tariffed us in compensation. (It’s what the Ukrainians are doing now to Poland. Dumping.)

Only because we have become IMPORT RELIANT. Tariffs are used to protect domestic production. The fact that they are distinctly felt is a reflection of the loss of wealth due to trade imbalance that had been cultivated since the 1980’s.

The irrational and draconian response to COVID, despite their evils, revealed the visual truth of our failed trade policy. The queue of ships from Europe and Asia, miles out into the oceans with each ship bearing the fruits of wasted energy (carbon dioxide) of junk, tropical insects looking for fresh habitats, and things of value that had once bore “MADE IN USA” which meant just that all waiting to be unloaded in our ports.

I read that one ship alone is the equivalent of an Empire State building. Not sure I believe it, but the scale is likely accurate.

I could try to block out of my mind the horrors of what is going on in GAZA if it were Israel taking care of its OWN business. But, as an American I am not comfortable with my country being a part of it.
If any other country in the world was doing this the U.S. world police would be screaming Human Rights violation and genocide at the top of their lungs.
But one must understand that, going forward this type of warfare is now acceptable. Because America says so. America aided and abetted it. And when the backlash comes to America, as it certainly will, don’t cry in your soup and ask why they would come after us.

p.s. And right now the only reason I choose Biden is…… BECAUSE HE IS NOT TRUMP!!! If I see a better democrat OR republican running in 2024 I will vote for them. I am not at all party specific. I just want someone who is not a total and bona-fide nutcase wack job poison pill for all society.

The only thing you need to know about Trump is that when he lost the popular and electoral vote, he tried to subvert the democratic process – he tried to stop the counting of electoral votes to stay in power.

That’s all you need to know about Donald Trump.

Sure wasn’t Trump.

I don’t blame the IDF. They thought it was fun and games live streaming while they murdered innocent Israeli’s. You reap what you sow.

And ask yourself why bordering countries didn’t want Palestinians citizens in their countries?

No wars under Trump.

Yup, just as I thought. My main point sailed far over your heads. The one thing all Trump disciples seem to be afflicted with is tunnel vision. They cannot think outside the box Trump has lured them into. The constant barrage of disinformation that is sent to them on their computers and mail takes over their brains. I have a family member who gets all this stuff. He repeats it. He resends it to others as instructed. And as ridiculous and as easily refutable as most of that crap is, he marches forward, blinded by the cult, believing the unbelievable.

There is very little different between Jimmy Jones and Trump and you people know that if Trump told you to walk out in front of a bus that you would do it without hesitation. And that is just sad and there is apparently no treatment for it.

But that aside, good luck and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I hope that all terrorists groups will be killed so that they cannot kill innocent people and Peoples. The U.S. Constitution should have that in writing. Hamas is EVIL! I’m saddened that around 20,000 innocent people and Peoples have been killed so far since October 7th, 2023. By the way, my VOTE on January 23rd, 2024, in the NH Primary won’t count in the rules of the Democratic Party. I still get to VOTE, but it will mean nothing.

I wish that: BOTH the over 50-year career politician in the SWAMP and the ultimate MORAL HYPOCRITE would retire from national politics. If the Democrats nominate Biden, then they are going back to the dreaded 1970’s era of big spending and big government with high U.S. inflation and low GDP growth. If the Republican nominate Trump, then they are going back to the dreaded 1920’s era of institutional racism (that Adolf Hitler wrote favorably about in his 100-year-old Nazi books) and extreme economic inequality with growth in the nation’s huge underclass and the top 1 percent of wealthy U.S. households.

Why do the Democrats want to take us back 50 years? Why do the Republicans want to take us back 100 years? These dates in history are ugly bygone eras that belong in the trash bin of U.S. history. We need to live in the current realities of the 21st Century with new candidates for U.S. President who will deliver progress for all of the American People!

What is the definition of INSANITY? The American People supporting either Joe Biden or Donald Trump for U.S. President because we would be doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results.

Your source for the number of deaths is the Gaza Health Ministry, must be true. I don’t think any Americans especially incompetent leaders and brain washing educators should tell Israel what their response should be to a massacre of their citizens. There were horrific and animalistic acts committed by Hamas savages. There are recent polls that show 3/4 of Palestinians approve of the attack and Hamas activities since. Nobody wants to see innocent people harmed during a war. As everybody knows Hamas doesn’t follow that belief. A ceasefire does nothing. Can Hamas be eradicated? Probably not. Why has this inept administration released a possible 10 billion $$ for Iran. Most terror runs thru Iran. That is where people who want to tell Israel how to run their Country should put their energy. Biden and the Puppeteers are funding both sides of this Conflict. Why has this Country and the whole globe become Anti Semitic + Pro Hamas to a Nation the size of New Jersey? That is the real question and the answer can be seen in the state of the World.

Media speaks of Hamas killing 1200 Israelis focus on a concert. They whitewash the murder.

The killers invaded homes, (it’s hard to write this, and what follows shall sear your mind.)

They placed infants in ovens before their parents eyes.

It is a sin that demands fatal consequences for those who make their company of such creatures. The terrorists are not of man, and death is their wish and future.

The Gaza strip will be a much better place to live when it’s not ruled by terrorists. The Palestinians don’t know what it’s like to be free of terrorism ruling their country. Taking the money meant for the people of Gaza and using it to build tunnels to kill their enemies isn’t the way to rule over the people. Israel is helping the people of Gaza in the long run by freeing them from the tyrannical rule of Hamas.

She has been previously before the board for this allegation. Police did a good job but the Fire Department was absent at the meeting prompting the Board Chairman to state it can’t be that important because they didn’t show? But if that octogenarian on Boylston street does not shovel the snow off her walk within 24 hours she will get a nice deduction from her social security check and be put on a watch list.

We pay our officers to uphold the law, they do there job and it’s pretty embarrassing that she would recieve a minimum of suspension. The quote by the chairman was quite disturbing when he mentioned the fire department wasn’t here so it could’ve been that big a deal?

Just read an article on the “T” in Boston. I guess they want $4 Billion from the state so they can complete the repairs they need and pay for the running of the system. Let’s think about this why should Pitts pay for the “T”??? Also the government is pushing a train to run the length of the state….do you think that won’t cost us money that we don’t have??? The government is out of control (or being controlled by China not sure which). Hopefully people will start writing their reps to tell them to stop this nonsense. Here is another thought.

Didn’t these same deadbeat councilor’s argue that the City should offset it’s rent payments to Petricca for the bus lease against the taxes he owes for the property he owns on Merrill Road? And didn’t they say that the City shouldn’t do business with the deadbeat?

Yet they continue to collect their salary and health insurance from the City as City Councilors. Shouldn’t we withhold their salary and health insurance against the taxes they owe? Or should their be a rule, if you owe, you can’t be an elected official?

I wish the citizens knew of Kenny’s delinquency before the election. Maybe someone would have run against him. Maybe someone will start a recall petition against the deadbeat.

Amazing that the Eagle blocks us from reading articles on their Facebook yet there is no block in place for the latest dirt story about the four City Councilors that are late on paying their taxes. What a dirt paper, who fed you this story? Noticed also that the first person to respond with an angry face emoji towards these councilors was no other than Mayor Dirty Barry. Hope this makes you feel like a man Barry! It was alright for you and your wife’s crap Administration to allow both the Arace and Petricca families to owe the city thousands of dollars for years in taxes, no public notification about that. Guess it depends on who “your friends are”, right Barry and LInda.

To the owners of the Berkshire Eagle, there are many issues in this failing city you could write about instead of digging into people’s personal finances. Your paper harassed John Krol, now these four councilors. How are the Eagle’s finances? Why is it you keep raising prices on a lousy paper that gets smaller by the day? Hope Karma works against you this new year.

Is this the big story coming out of city hall that was rumored? I thought it was for a very questionable Covid distribution. Someone ought to investigate the mayors hiring at b c c? There were no other candidates with more quakifications? No people of color or minorities?

No mention by the Eagle of the years of unpaid taxes of Hunter Biden when he was making millions. That’s okay because he is politically useful to the far left.

Dummy up. There are elected officials, not private citizens. The Eagle has a responseabiliy to report it, and if only Danno could have scooped it first, he would have.

The local paper has a story about certain city councilors who owe back taxes. As it happens they all voted against the latest tax increases. Wondering if the message is that if you do not vote as you are told to by the administration the mayor will sic her media dog on you and try to embarrass you into compliance in the future.

Are there other people in the city that owe even more? Like business owners or some of the more well to do connected folk that they are planning on writing about? Can anyone think of any big shots that are getting tax breaks or had their taxes waved?

Dan, does this look like a shot over the bow to any councilor who might think about voting their own mind and going against the administrations dictate? Was this meant to intimidate any new councilor as to what is and what is not expected of them?
Will Marchetti now be able to get that coveted 11-0 vote every time?

The story, as always, is not about the report which is dull, but that which is unreported: who supplied the tip and for what end?

#1 is guessable to anyone on the clerk’s mail list. #2 is obvious: it’s a warning to the public not to run without permission, and it’s to discipline the councilor from Ward 1. He paid the bill and now it’s not a story.

I feel bad for the one who explained his hardship. I hope he makes it.

It’s a warning directed at you, ES. The councilors are irrelevant. Always have been.

No . He will get the votes he needs to do whatever he wants. That’s just the way it works in Pittsfield. I will tell you as an owner of a Commercial building in Pittsfield, the only people making money is the City and their connected friends. Unfortunately I’m not in that group, breaking even. My last property in Pittsfield, steering everyone away from Pittsfield. Second highest commercial tax rate in the State, plus water and sewer and the second highest electric rate in the continental US. Stay away.

Onto a lighter note. Is Pittsfield Ma. in the running for the smallest X-Mass tree lighting in the Country. Pretty sure there hasn’t been a public display under 9 feet. At least we have that to hang our hat on. Merry Christmas to all, even the Moonbats.

The Berkshire Eagle is just a absolute complete joke. Heather Bellow among others have never set foot in a journalism class start with that but hey they are investigative journalist. These stories have become their bread and butter. Lazy journalists who relies on others for stories to write including the Planet.

These dopey lazy stories meant to discredit political enemies continue. The Berkshire Eagle is and has been a Gotcha newspaper for some time. Kevin who me Moran and Fred i can barely function Rutberg lead this rag tag hanging by a nose hair operation. It Goes lock and step with the rest of this city.

Fair Share Amendment (according to Berkshire Eagle). $1,000,000,000 raised in taxes. Berkshire County combined gets $4,580,000 of the pie. That amounts to 0.5% share.

Fair Share indeed.
