THE GIFT OUTRIGHT … A NEW SUPER … HITCHCOCK DIRECTS … AND A GREAT WEEKEND
BY DAN VALENTI
PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY
(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THE WEEKEND EDITION MAY 16-8, 2025) — Several UFOs were spotted circling THE PLANET. Our crack team directed them in for landing. Here they be:
The Gift Outright–It’s a sign of how desperate Democrats have become when you see them raising a stink about the “bribe” President Trump accepted from Quatar, a new 747 that will retrofitted to serve as Air Force One. If you look about 1/4″ under the headlines, however, you see that the Arab country did not make a gift to Trump. They gave the jet to the U.S. Department of Defense. The President merely accepted on behalf of the nation. Why wouldn’t Trump accept this $500 million gift, or would people have taxpayers cough up the $$$? Sorry. Sorry, but there’s no “story” there.
New Super–As many predicted, the sochkawfuloo kumitee selected Latifah Phillips for the post of interim superintendent of school in the city. Phillips will take over amidst an ongoing scandal involving drugs, pedophila, and Lord knows what else that has yet to surface. In her interview, she said that just because the reports did not find credible evidence to sustain allegations against PHS administration and staffers, it doesn’t clear them. The accused may be guilty as charged. That’s a good start. The courts can have their presumption of innocence, but the streets and corridors … well, that’s another story. Many have been quick to jump on her as a DEI hire, but that will come out or not in her ACTIONS. Meanwhile, THE PLANET advises to let her do the job and see what comes of it. Phillips comes with some impressive credentials compared to outgoing Jumpin’ Joe Curtis, who has an online certificate from a diploma mill. This HAS to be a step up.
And now a word from our sponsor:

Hitchcock Directs–A name in recent news has been Michael Hitchcock, who has upped his game as a warrior for social justice. THE PLANET knows Hitch, and while we may not agree with all his positions, we applaud how he has taken his responsibilities as a citizen seriously. Michael is an articulate, sincere, passionate advocate in the public arena, and we bestow upon him the title of Supercitizen. Yes, he is every bit as much of one as others upon whom we have given the honors. Supercitizen ranks second only to THE PLANET‘s Coveted Orbit Award. Bitchfield is fortunate to have him in the mix.
And with that, the talking stick is yours.
Have a great weekend, everybody!

Maybe the first thing the new superintendent will do is to reopen the investigation of the PHS scandal and get everything out in the open. Everything! If she does she gets instant credibility.
But sadly, one of the criteria for getting the job was probably to promise on a thick Bible NOT to ever discuss that awful made up, phony, never happened, witch hunt scandal again with anyone, any time, anywhere.
EVER!!!
That’s been the first criteria for anyone hired to public office in Bitchfield: Dummy Up. Second is Shut Up. Third is Don’t Look Behind the Curtain. In other words, Play Ball or we ruin you.
Please listen to the new Superintendent’s words.

Pittsfield politics’ newest episode in The Twilight Zone!
Our Opinion: “Public still deserves full report of PHS investigation, not just ‘executive summaries'”
The Berkshire Eagle, Editorial, May 17, 2025
“In large part, the information we were able to gather was primarily second and third hand accounts or rumors that we were not able to substantiate,” the summary says.
Following an investigation of misconduct allegations against multiple Pittsfield High School staff members, the Pittsfield School Committee has released a series of “executive summaries.” With the release of these summaries showcasing only some of the probe’s findings, the School Committee might believe it has fulfilled the pledge of maximum transparency that Chairman William Cameron promised when he said in December that “There’s no intent here to cover anything up. … So whatever we are legally able to release, we will release.”
We disagree, and going back on that promise is bound to raise some justifiable concerns in a community that has lost trust in the city’s school system amid a chaotic stream of controversies emanating from PHS in recent months. That broken trust is, of course, one of the main reasons why this extraordinary investigation was needed in the first place.
We understand the argument, oft-cited by the School Committee chairman, that the district wants to avoid stoking unfounded rumors and unnecessary invasions of privacy. As we have consistently argued, though, that can be reasonably balanced with Pittsfield taxpayers’ right to see the report they funded by releasing a carefully but minimally redacted version of the report itself. Conversely, offering up only curated summaries of this consequential report’s findings suggests the district is willing to compromise its constituents’ right to know about a matter of great public import — especially to anyone who sends their children to this school.
The decision rejects the Pittsfield School Committee’s assertion that the report, which shares the results of an investigation kicked off by alleged misconduct by staff members at Pittsfield High School, was exempt from the state public records law.
The state Division of Public Records seemed to agree with that sentiment earlier this month. After a Pittsfield resident’s public records request for the PHS report was denied by the district, she appealed to the state. In the resultant ruling, the state’s supervisor of records wrote that the district “had not met its burden” in proving why the report should be exempt from the state public records law and therefore should release a redacted version of the report.
While the School Committee has sought clarity from the state Division of Public Records, it’s also pushed back on the ruling. In a letter to both the state and the Pittsfield resident who made the records request, the district said even a redacted version would not protect the privacy of the report’s subjects and witnesses and would have a chilling effect on future investigations.
The most chilling effect we could imagine for the district is the perception of the sort of cover-up that the School Committee chairman specifically pledged to avoid back in December. Preventing that perception demands erring on the side of transparency — exactly what was called for in the Division of Public Records’ ruling. The last thing the district should want from an investigation meant to address serious community concerns is for the release format of its findings to raise more questions. Yet we fear that outcome is welcomed by these cautious curations dubbed “executive summaries.”
What evidentiary standard was applied, and by whom, when a summary states there was “no conclusive evidence” of some alleged behavior by a PHS administrator? We are familiar with evidentiary standards that range from the minimal (reasonable suspicion) to the very high criminal standard of beyond a reasonable doubt along with several between these extremes. We are unfamiliar with the standard of “conclusive evidence,” although it sounds like something close to, if not equal to, beyond a reasonable doubt. While we do not quarrel with the appropriateness of requiring proof beyond a reasonable doubt in order to convict someone of a crime, we also believe that if the evidence of wrongdoing is more likely than not (the typical civil law standard) such evidence demands that such a conclusion be articulated.
Further, why did the investigation seem to consistently struggle with contacting and interviewing sources who might have had firsthand knowledge regarding some of the allegations, as noted throughout the executive summaries, and what does this mean for the conclusiveness of the findings reported in the summaries?
The public might not be able to ever get all the answers about this controversial morass, but the people of Pittsfield deserve as many answers as they can possibly get. That would be accomplished if the district would simply follow through on the reasonable order from the state Division of Public Records to release a minimally redacted version of the full report. Such a release would also provide Pittsfield residents with another perspective of public interest: What did the district and the law firm it contracted with see fit to include in or leave out of the executive summaries?
As we’ve argued before, it’s fair enough for the district to seek clarity with the state on the best way to make redactions to the report while balancing legitimate privacy and liability concerns with state records law’s prioritization of the public’s right to know. But the district also should be keen to avoid the perception that it’s stalling on following the Division of Public Records’ order and trying to sweep under the rug any discrepancies or gaps between the full report and the executive summaries.
That, too, could have a chilling effect.
Hitchcock is a phony IMHO. He masquerades as a social justice warrior but what he’s really doing is making sure he doesn’t have to get a real job.
Then he fits in with the rest of them in Pittsfield politics!
Agree with this assessment.
Speaking of Hitchcock, one of his posse called for wild Bills removal from the school committee and another to defund the cops. Refer some of the defund money to homeless programs.
I’m sure those programs will be as successful as the new king kone
He has to do something?…. Who else is going to pay the hot dog bill.
Hate to give this any attention but I’m an incredibly accessible person and you can always have a conversation with me. I find that closer to 100% of people who have a conversation with me whether they agree with me or not at least know that I’m sincere.
And for the person who seems jealous or upset about me not having a real job I busted my ass for 30 or $40,000 last year. It’s nothing to get worked up about.
Hey don’t get down. FM has yet to meet a person who rises to her personal standards of erudition, wit and gab. If you’re lucky, you may actually meet her at a swanky bistro in Lenox where she heads once a month to absorb high culture.
Well said, MIKE. Keep up the good work.
Yeah, about that gift of the
plane. An issue only because of Trump accepting it.

Maybe violent protesting is the way to go like at the last city council defund police seminar
Great article OP.
Kufflinks will make darn sure for the umpteenth year in a row we have a good interest rate on something. Amusing will bark about how they’ll have to tighten our belts Next Year. And Lumpy will tell us how the budget is hard to fund not knowing what the fed money will be like but he’ll try to make it as painless as possible.
Bitchfield’s leadership is embracing a political and economic system that rewards the connected and sloth and punishes the working taxpayers and it’s only a matter of time before Bitchfield finally collapses.
I agree. If one is a political insider in Pittsfield politics, then they are doing really well.
If you are working in a low- to moderate-income job in Pittsfield, they you are basically paying for the likes of Mayor Peter Marchetti and his Financial Director Matt Kerwood a fiscal year 2026 city pay of over $125,000 plus perks, which will carry over to their 6-figure city public pension plus perks for life.
Pittsfield politics pounds peoples’ purses!
I’d really like to hold out hope that Latifah Phillips will right the ship, but her DEI background and all of the repeated DEI failures like Da Dancin’ Dean, tell me otherwise.
If she is to do that, she needs to remove the liberal indoctrination from PHS.
Kids need to be able to read, write, and have basic math skills at their appropriate grade levels.
Kids do not need to know their teachers/administrators private dating lives.
Kids do not need to hear about TDS from teachers.
Teach math, not lecture kids on democracy being stolen because Trump won’t allow mentally ill boys masquerading as girls, play in women’s sports.
**Kids need to learn to read and comprehend what they just read and be able to articulate it properly. Not be social media influencers during class.
*White males are not the enemy, contrary to the “Cultural Competency Coach,” and her racial hatred of them masked as educating or “social justice” teachings.
IMO it’s not a matter of can Latifah do this. It’s a matter of will she do this?
Time will tell.
One last thought, you know Kufflinks Kerwood was salivating like Pavlov’s dog, when KK heard Latifah lacked any financial management experience.
I’s sure Kifflinks will”teach” her.
Well said, MARK. Performance and action, not words. A great start would be an overhaul of the curriculum, reinstalling the basics. Get rid of all the other feel-good and political indoctrination crud.
Get rid of the computers first. Back to basics means long form learning. Can only be done practically on paper with pencil.
I agree with the pencils, paper, and books, old school philosophy of learning. Much like a large majority of us who post on here, Sir Chaz.
Why I don’t see that happening, cost. Translation: less money to disappear into envelopes, Christmas cards, Birthday cards, etc. The same principle as “state grant money.”
With computers the Bitchfield Pubic Scohol can save money. Most text books are on pdf form, or something similar today. They’ll claim it saves space or books get outdated quickly.
The real reason. Computers are a teachers safety blanket.
In those rare times that a teacher is actually teaching the core subject and not talking about TDS, trying to date their juvenile aged students, or sell a bag of booger sugar to them, when the usual trouble maker(s) wants to check out of class and click on some porn during the lesson, it keeps the disruption level at a minimum.
The kid can’t read or write. But look on the plus side, no fights or teachers getting threatened in class today.
Win/Win
Imagine how much they’d save if there were no computers, no IT service contracts, software contracts, and instead just textbooks that got passed down the years.
And how many children upon graduation can use Microsoft Excel? Or can build html/css dynamic sites with javascript and php?
I doubt even a single one. Forget about the arg that they become computer literate.
Guess what percentage of kids show up as college freshman and are using their cell phones in class, instead of paying attention?
50.
You’ve figured it out. Latifa there’s your blueprint.
I suspect that those PDF’s and come with a hefty price tag. Each year they must need be updated, revised, amended, addended, and translated.
The nice thing about our (yours and mine) textbooks is that they never changed, they just picked up dirt and graffiti, and if a student destroyed hers she bought it.
Are you kidding? That would require work.
Indeed, plus the gift of pleasure from the satisfaction of understanding how things work. Both the work which teaches patience and perseverance and the reward are hazardous to the tyrant.
Dave is missed.
Good luck with that.
Latifah reminds me of the New Orleans female Chief of Police whose resume is full of DEI crap. Ten of her dangerous inmates just broke out of prison. She knows how to “promote equity” but no clue as to how to recapture the escaped prisoners.
No clue how to protect her city from a recent out-of-control terrorist driver who killed pedestrians.
Does Latifah’s resume, also full of DEI crap, have anything to do with her new responsibilities of overseeing a large school district with an equally large budget?
Good questions, LEN. Only time will tell. I will say that Latifah doesn’t have much of it. The district, even though The Suits are reluctant to admit it, is in free fall. It eats 75% of the city budget to produce failure. The new super must get out of the gates fast. No 90 days for her. A month, tops.
Imagine if we gave Trump 30 days for substance. We should see policy happening before she first opens the door to her office.
Thie questions about the new Super point to the Scohol Committee, not the super.
Of course not. She was hired because of DEI, despite the school committee chair having directly supervised one of the other applicants, for three years, when that applicant was a deputy super, and did a tremendous job, per the committee chair. The problem is, he is an aging white male. Latifah has zero actual experience running a school system, and yet the incompetents on the school committee hire her.
Only reason she was hired is the B word. Sick of this and them and there racial bs
Former FBI Director James Comey has posted a picture of seashells formed to say “8647” and supposedly found in the sand and admitting that it is political, but Comey had to post it anyway. Comey said he assumed it was a political message and not a violent one. Really? With his former high FBI position there is no doubt that he knows what it means to “86” someone and President Trump is our 47th president. Comey will be under investigation for calling for the assassination of President Trump. This is so disgusting coming from this former FBI director.
Comey for prison, ASAP!
Pete Rose to The Hall.
Deserves the General Flynn treatment. First jail him, then charge him with high crimes, and then bring as evidence his tweets. “You follow X who follows Y who has a friend who follows J who follows Z who is a known terrorist.” Therefore you are one hell of a dangerous man.
May he rot for 2 decades behind bars living in a Kafka novel.
If I was walking along a beach and saw “8647” in the sand my first thought wouldn’t be “Oh, that’s political” and then feel the need to show it to the world. I don’t think most people would, but a former director of the FBI would read meaning into those numbers. Comey also writes legal/crime novels so he immediately knew what “8647” means. Maybe Comey created the shell formation himself? If any other liberal did this it would be bad, but James Comey’s former job makes this worthy of investigation.
Comey got exactly the attention (PR) he wanted to bring attention to his new book he is releasing soon. Scum bag.

Lock em up!
Neatenyoohoo killing Palestines at big numbers.
Thankfully Kash Patel, per his book “Government Gangsters” is well acquainted with Swamp Czar Comey and has the goods to throw his ass in jail. Great memes on X;

Welcome back fritz!
But Patel and Bondi have been sitting on their hands instead of prosecuting.
The RINO led Johnson Congress presently, is perhaps worse then the obstructionist Mike THE RYNO Congress of 2016.
They are part of the bigger problem by aiding and abetting the Loony Left.
Primary them ALL!
Comey should have been living in a crowbar hotel years ago, for his/THE FIBs involvement in the fabricated “Russian Collusion” farce by The H-Beast/DNC.
Treason is a capital offense, without statute of limitations. Military Tribunals can avoid the legislating Left Winged District Judges who think they can dictate national policies of the Executive Branch.
The “No Kings” billboard in Allendale is disgusting. The money to pay for it was supposedly put forth by an anonymous Dalton resident. Of course it was. The red line across Trump’s face is disturbing. Trump supporters should pay for a billboard right next to it to praise Trump for fighting against radical Democrat policies like silencing free speech and influencing young children to become trans.
More than disturbing. If you have a photo and that photo is in a red circle with a red line drawn through it – that is a veiled threat. It should be investigated as such and Mahon (who is another leftist educating our children) and the so called Berkshire Democratic Brigade should also be held responsible. This is not a freedom of speech argument. They have literally crossed the red Line.
Newsmax has an awesome lineup on weekday evenings, starting with Rob Schmidt at 7 pm followed by Rob Finnerty and Greg Kelly.
Rob Schmidt shared the following story about Trump;

Downtown Pittsfield is so dead, The Funeral Home is closing. Wow.
I was on north going into Valenti’s some guy walking by me spits a big wad right near a lady in her walker.
Was it yellowish and a little green? It’s still there.
Could this be the final nail in the coffin?
I didn’t know the taxpayer was responsible for the Unhoused ?
Amused-So has been on every council or committee and she still needs an explanation on certain rules? From Voltron? What is the rule on giving a student a communication device years ago who was a relative and benefited by a vote from a member of the school committee ?
Biden has cancer.
Remember a meeting where Hitchclock said Miggy was murdered. And at the last City Clownsill meeting was behind the speakers who want police defunded. He’s does not live in Pittsfield just works in Pittsfield. He needs to eat his donuts somewhere else.

Big Body Lumpy thinks he’s going to be a factor as s c chair? Why doesn’t he actually try to do something like stop increasing taxes and start cutting in the schools. SOMEWHERE.
Bring on more DEI BS with this one. I dont think people will ever wake up from the gay a** mayor and the rest of them stuffing this crap down our throats for years. I saw this coming 10 years ago but people thought I was crazy.
Some one should bring to light Esko is probably going to the Mercier bldg with a big raise for keeping her mouth closed. Shepards pie and Molly West, big yuck.
Trump is a bribed president.MAGA sees fatboy Trump as a God to worship.Cults can not deprogram themselves.Trump owns his MAGA hats.
