PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, MONDAY APRIL 6, 2026) — Will President Trump once again be all bluster, or will he stick to his thrice-delayed “absolute deadline” and hit Iran’s power grid and bring decimation?

THE PLANET will have you recall that nine days ago at 8 p.m. EST, Trump announced a 10-day moratorium on raining utter devastation on a country that has more resilience than Freddy Kreuger. On Easter Sunday, Trump changes the deadline for the third time. He gave Iran 48 hours to open the Straight of Hormuz and disarm. That brings us to Tuesday, 8 p.m. to see if it’s “I Ran” with the ayatollahs calling the president’s bluff or if Trump will put Iran, as he bragged, “in living Hell.”

Be careful what you wish for, Mr. President, because, as you even admit, Iran has taken a severe beating, and it’s resistance has only intensified.

From AP, quoting Trump on Truth Social:

———- ooo ———-

SANITY MADE SIMPLE: Aphorisms, Epigrams, and Other Parsed Phrases, is available now at amazon.com or at any Barnes & Noble Booksellers. Just $14.95 for the paperback, $4.95 for the e-book. Your purchase will help support a Pittsfield-based small business.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!” Trump wrote . “Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell — JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.”

Iran responded with defiance Sunday. Mizan, an outlet affiliated with Iran’s judiciary, said Trump’s expletive-laden post had insulted Iranians with “vile” language, adding that “Iran’s steadfastness and resistance have driven Trump to the brink of madness.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was also quick to respond. “As you head off to church and celebrate with friends and family, the President of the United States is ranting like an unhinged madman on social media,” Schumer wrote on X. “He’s threatening possible war crimes and alienating allies. This is who he is, but this is not who we are. Our country deserves so much better.”
Trump warned Iran of possible U.S. strikes after demanding the reopening of a critical shipping lane. The ultimatum adds pressure as tensions rise following recent U.S. and Israeli military actions in the region.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Trump ally, backed the president’s ultimatum. “He is deadly serious when it comes to his ultimatum to Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz or face a massive military response against vital infrastructure,” Graham wrote on X. “To say the window on diplomacy is closing would be an understatement.”

In a phone call with Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst on Sunday, Trump said he is considering “blowing everything up and taking over the oil” if Iran does not act quickly. He expressed optimism that a deal could come as soon as Monday, saying negotiators on the Iranian side had been granted amnesty to continue talks.

Later, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump went further. “If they don’t come through, if they want to keep it closed, they’re going to lose every power plant and every other plant they have in the whole country,” he said. “If they don’t do something by Tuesday evening, they won’t have any power plants and they won’t have any bridges standing.”

———- ooo ———-

Author Dan Valenti will be signing PMB’s latest publication, SANITY MADE SIMPLE, at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Pittsfield. We hope you can make it!

Even if Trump follows through, it’s hard to see how America’s uptick in incendiary actions will  change much in the long run. Iran has a governmental-military hierarchy with a “deep bench.” Replacement leaders with the same theocratic philosophy will in time simply rebuild the infrastructure with the help of Russia, China, North Korea, and others, and the country will be rearmed stronger than ever, perhaps with nukes.

THE PLANET asks: Why should Iran cave to the demand to reopen the Straight of Hormuz? It’s their main trump card.

Fact is, America and Israel cut off promising negotiations to start this war. Iran’s legitimate defensive action has the moral high ground. If the United States truly wants to make progress in the Middle East, perhaps it should stage regime. change — in Israel. Benjamin Netanyahu has painted his own country black by breeding consensus to genocide.

Forget Iran. Maybe it’s time to hold Israel to accounts.

Re: Iran’s extremist regime

Hello blogger Dan Valenti,

How can you, blogger Dan Valenti, write that Trump is extreme and incendiary in his War against Iran when we have all experienced many Iran-backed terrorist attacks, especially the October 07th 2023 terrorist attacks in Israel (the worst mass killings of Jews since the Holocaust), and also, the (Saudi-extremist based) September 11th 2001 terrorist attacks in our country, the U.S.A.?

Iran’s extremist regime wants us all dead by any military means, including would-be use(s) of future nuclear weapons. Iran’s extremist regime openly says that they want to destroy Israel forever.

Over 100 years ago, an extremist, violent and racist Nazi Party leader name Adolf Hitler in Germany published books and made disturbing speeches publicly saying everything that he was going to do as Germany’s EVIL dictator. Why didn’t anyone STOP Hitler before his rise to political power?

Over 100 years later, in the Spring 2026, Trump is waging a WAR against Iran’s extremist regime to put an end to Iran’s extremist regime before they obtain nuclear weapons.

What would we say if Iran’s extremist regime put forth another October 07th or September 11th terrorist attack(s) with nuclear weapons?

The ANSWER is the same thing that we say when we ask why nobody stopped Hitler over 100 years ago before his rise to political power.

Did Iran? …. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Iran_massacres

Even several innocent children were killed in Iran’s largest massacres of Iranian protesters in modern history. Iran’s extremist regime executed MASS KILLINGS of its own people in 2026 prior to the 02/28/2026 start of Trump’s War against Iran. Tens of thousands of innocent people in Iran were tragically killed by Iran’s EVIL extremist regime. They even allegedly used CHEMICAL WEAPONS against their own people in Iran.

How could any rational person write that Iran holds the HIGH GROUND against U.S. President Donald Trump?

Best wishes,

Jon Melle

Great points JM. That and to date, Iran has been unleashing all its wrath at civilian targets, which is no different than they have done in the past. Their preferred targets are community centers, embassies, large buildings such as the Trade Center. There is no moral ground at all for that regime to claim.

“Basically, we’re fucked” is the emotional translation.
The more accurate version is this: we’re watching a situation where people in power are acting like they’re holding all the cards… while the other side quietly proves they don’t.
That’s how things spiral. Not in one dramatic moment, but in a series of misreads, overconfidence, and decisions made for optics instead of outcomes.
So no, not doomed.
But definitely not in control.

Did The View or the Clinton News Network (CNN) tell you that?

Why does TDS make you democRATS anti-American?

I don’t remember this outrage or “we’re fucked” attitude when Autopen (Barry Obama) left billions of dollars worth of military grade weapons in the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle/humiliation.

Markus, this is what happens when confidence outruns comprehension.
You walked in swinging at The View and CNN like they were part of the conversation. They weren’t. That wasn’t a rebuttal. That was you arguing with imaginary friends.

Then you dropped “TDS,” which is less of a point and more of a verbal security blanket for people who can’t defend an argument without it.
And the history lesson? Painful.

You brought up the United States withdrawal from Afghanistan like it proves something, while ignoring that the timeline started under Donald Trump and was executed under Joe Biden. There was widespread outrage. Hearings. Coverage everywhere. The idea that no one reacted is something you either made up or hoped no one would check.
And that’s the pattern with you.

You don’t engage the argument. You replace it with something easier, throw in a few slogans, and hope the noise carries you.
It doesn’t.
Because underneath all of that, there’s nothing holding it up.
No facts.
No direct counter.
Just a lot of volume doing the heavy lifting for a very weak point.
This isn’t a disagreement.
It’s you confusing being loud with being right… and expecting no one to notice.

Look what they did with just airliners on 911. Murdered thousands of innocence. If the Mullah’s had or get  Nukes, they will most assuredly use them on us.Remember “What have we done that made them do this to us?” after 9/11?

In the end it won’t make any difference how much evidence or proof there is that Iran was still intent on developing Nuclear Weapons .The people who had condemned Trump for acting against Iran will never under any circumstances believe the evidence because it wouldn’t fit their narrative. I believe it all comes down to how people are willing to define what is an Imminent Threat. It reminds me of Clinton trying to define what ‘is is’. To some people there was not now nor will there ever be an Imminent Threat. Those people will always believe that the Israel forced Trump to
attack Iran!

Our country deserves better than Chuck Schumer and his far left policies that’s for sure. China, Russia, North Korea and Iran have formed this close relationship that started during the Biden administration. Biden was funding Ukraine’s military and that pushed these countries together. I do remember Russia saying, “Maybe we should just give Iran a nuke” after Trump attacked Iran’s nuclear sites the first time. Russia’s remark was of course in response to Biden supplying Ukraine with weapons against Russia. I think this war with Iran has as much to do with showing Russia, China, and North Korea that we shouldn’t be messed with as it does with taking away Iran’s nuclear threat. These four countries working together form a significant threat to the United States and the world. We can’t just look the other way and ignore the political alliances that have been forming.

Tired of dealing with Presidents like Biden that never has a pulse above 60, Don’t Don’t. Or Obama just send a pallet full of cash and that will shut em up. Does it work? Who knows. Congrats, Dan, you are finally moving in the right direction. Kitterman, Pat, Mullah, Douche and Markus are severely misguided. Trump is demanding that Iran negotiate in good faith and saying ‘a whole civilization’ will be eradicated if they don’t knuckle under, when he, Trump, is the one who started the war FOR NO REASON. Persia is one of the world’s great civilizations and for Trump to sarcastically say ‘Allah is great’ while cursing and blaspheming them is not the behavior of a great leader. You all may ‘thumbs down’ my comment all you like, but that in no way makes your own comments sensible. When yer wrong yer wrong, and no number of like-minded backward-thinking colleagues will change that.

Hello blogger Dan Valenti,

What about my post?

The EVIL Iran regime recently killed tens of thousands of their own Iranian people who protested their government in Iran.

Does the recent largest massacre of tens of thousands of people in Iran’s history even matter to you?

It would be like one writing that a serial killer(s) has a right to defend themselves against the families who lost their loved ones to mass murders. NOTE: Yes. I believe in the Rule of Law, as well as the Rule of Common Sense.

The other thing is that included in my post, I wrote about me being a persecuted person in Pittsfield politics by Nuciforo and his EVIL network of conspiratorial bullies ever since I was 20 years old in the Spring 1996, but blogger Dan Valenti almost always edits out my writings about Nuciforo on his blog, meaning in my native hometown of Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

The IRONY. Blogger Dan Valenti writes that Iran’s EVIL regime of mass murders, terrorists, and extremists have a right to defend themselves against “the morally bankrupt U.S. President Donald Trump”, but at the same time, he silences Jon Melle’s voice in favor of Nuciforo, who is a marijuana millionaire who lives in a million-dollar mansion in Pittsfield’s elitist Gated Community west of Berkshire Community College, along with his many other properties, financial-based law firm, and Berkshire Roots.

Unlike the EVIL regime in Iran, do I have a right to defend myself against Nuciforo, blogger Dan Valenti?

Is Andrea Francesco Nuciforo Junior also “morally bankrupt” for the close to past 30 years of his conspiratorial abuses against me, along with my dad, Bob, who he always hated in Pittsfield politics. I am now a little over 50.5 years of age in the early-Spring 2026.

Jon Melle is NOT a murderer (but rather, I have NO criminal record).

Jon Melle is NOT a terrorist (but rather, I am a permanent and total 100-percent service-connected disabled Veteran who served our country honorably).

Jon Melle is an extremist (but rather, I am a Citizen defending the people against corrupt career politicians such as Nuciforo, who has disgraced himself as a double-dipper with big insurance companies in Boston).

I am sure that blogger Dan Valenti will….

….continue to write that Iran’s EVIL regime has a right to defend itself from Trump;

….continue to edit out my writings about Nuciforo’s close to 30-year conspiratorial persecution of JON MELLE, along with Nuciforo trying to hurt my dad, Bob, back in the mid-to-late-1990’s;

….NOT address my writings about IRAN’s EVIL REGIME’s horrific history of mass murder, terrorism, and extremism.

For someone who writes about double standards, being the voice of the little guy, standing up to the corrupt powers in Pittsfield politics, and so on, I – JON MELLE – feels like blogger Dan Valenti treats the EVIL regime in Iran with kid’s gloves, while I, Jon Melle, who is a good man and Veteran, has my voice edited out on his blog when it comes to “Luciforo: Pittsfield’s Pot King of Lawsuits”, who is a piece of shit.

Best wishes,

Jon Melle

Thank you, blogger Dan Valenti. It may be entertainment to you, but it is NOT to me. I have had to live this nightmare episode of Pittsfield politics: The Twilight Zone edition for a very long time.

You even once wrote to me that you know that I was hurt in Pittsfield politics.

Thank you for posting my writing in full without edits today.

You make many good points about the Iran War. Nobody should want War. You are a good man. You are a better person in terms of moral character than I.

I support your work in journalism, blogging, writing and publishing books, and the like. You are a good friend of my family going back many years. As my friend, I love you, man.

What he said..yes absolutely.

Americas biggest problem today is ignorance and lack of education. Even the pilgrims that came over on the Mayflower were smarter than most American’s today. And this lack of education, combined with inherent ignorance, makes them quite susceptible to propaganda and mind control.

Not going to mention any names but they will be the ones hitting the negative thumb icon on this post. A kneejerk response they have been programmed to do.

Remember Saddam and Kuwait? Iran and Iraq wars. Iran and Syria dismantling and taking over Lebanon? The wars between Yemen and Saudi Arabia? PLO and Jordan (where the King requested the Israelis to rescue them.) Syrian civil war with Kurds and ISIS?

I believe the Israelis, for their part, kept almost all their fighting on their own soil except for two when they took it back to where it came from.

The planet, rooting for the enemy, is disturbing.
He has yet to be correct, on any statement.

Iran holds all the cards? How- by striking neighbors, who weren’t involved?
They just proved how unstable the fanatical regime is.

By closing straight? America doesn’t need it.

Once we are done with Iran, we can dispose of NATO- and save a yuge amount of money.
Welfare for Europe, is about to end- let’s see how the libtards- function, without our money.

Only losers in this are Iran and Europe, Trump will cut our losses on multiple fronts,

My guessing, the excursion would be over by Easter- was off by a week.

The Planet reveling in Irans , tiny scratches to America, will be soon forgotten.

8pm this evening, Iran will suffer death from above…
Israel will be let off leash, along with the Kurds- upon America leaving the theatre.

Comical War Crimes rhetoric , is telling, and will result in Kelly being tried and convicted, by military justice.

The Planets ineptitude about history is beyond comprehension, the rising sun fanatics- who Truman firebombed then nuked- also learned a hard lesson- time for the world to remember- if the big dog comes off the porch…. Teasing him results in fatal consequences.

Time to unload, all our old ordinance,
I’m betting it’s starts much earlier than 8pm.

Agreed. DJT never signed a treaty with Iran – he made offers and deadlines. A deadline is much different than agreements. The deadline is the known time for an offer to expire. If you like an offer, you are best served taking it before the other changes his mind.

NATO is irrelevant. The Iron Curtain is gone, and Russian advancement is backed by economic ties that the European West will not sever.

As for Russian advancement – The Finns have more artillery tubes on its border than all the Europeans combined, they are a very durable people, and they really do not need NATO either. Russia could push its way to Kalinograd and sever the Baltic states, and that is about all that they can touch. Then it’s just a continuation of European history, same story as the old and perpetually temporary.

About the Finns – along with artillery, fences, durable people well oiled in cosmoline – they have a powerful sense of humor and are willing to use it.

Scandanavia is safe; Churchill is history; and the rest of NATO nations are already lost. If this war with Iran leave the criminals in charge, getting out of NATO would be worth every dollar regardless.

Smartest thing the Europeans could ever do it get out of NATO and form its own new alliance. They have become a tool of the U.S. and has had their economies ruined by being slaves to America controlling their every move in the world. Who to like and who not to like and being dragged into so many of Americas forever wars.

They have. It’s called the European Union. Rich Euros formed their own continental government and use it to write onerous rules that rob its people of wealth and business. Working for a European business means devoting half your labor ro reporting carbon consumption data, paying carbon taxes, and whatever new scheme they come up with. They sunk themselves.

If the Russians want something outside of Poland, it’s theirs for the taking. They still have about a century worth of tanks and artillery, mastered drone offensive. With the Ukraine war, the NATO nations are still just considering rebuilding something that would resemble at least a deterrent.

We should cut our losses in wasted money and go. Don’t need them, and we have built our bases throughout the Middle East. That also happens to the center of our strategic gravity. Europe is history.

What’s actually happening here is simple.
You’re both framing recklessness as strength, escalation as control, and certainty as intelligence.
