(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE EAST, WEDNESDAY OCT. 14, 2026) — While squaring the circle, defining one divided by zero, and arriving at the final digit of Pi, THE PLANET figures there’s a way to reconcile several seeming unrelated matters revolving around the seat of Berkshire County.

And we found it!

The Way.

Broken elevators, crazy street markings, traffic lights gone wild, arson, useless “leaders,” corrupt politics, an incompetent school department, lack of transparency–you name it. The Way is to evacuate, physically, mentally, or — best yet — both. For some, it’s taking the “There Are Secret Tapes in Baltimore” route. For others, it’s apathy. For THE PLANET, it’s the life of a gentleman farmer, out of town, amongst sheer Tennysonian idylls and granddaughters.

You must create mental sustenance however, wherever, and whenever you can. We have found that laughter and a well-developed sense of satire and irony keep the higher functions of intellect and spirit well nourished. And of course, we shall keep the Comment Line open for your two cents. Again, the usual appeal, largely ignored, to discuss, debate, and even argue with your best, not your worst. Eviscerate, yes, but elevate as well.

Meanwhile we continue to write love letters in the sand.
