Even the local daily stooped to cover the story … finally … nine days after THE PLANET filed. Once again, they had to play catch up with a one-person team that consistently beats a newsroom of 40. Sources. That’s still the name of the game. That’s how one person makes a difference.
Yes, the citizens, voters, and taxpayers of the peanut gallery have been noticing.

THE PLANET speaks, of course, of the greater attention “earned” by the lamentable Bitchfield Sochol Department, aka the Pittsfield School Department. The Suits themselves remain the ultimate cause for this scrutiny, but it took one lone school committee member to put the corrupt bunch under the McDonald French fry lights.
‘Tis a ponderous one, the list of sochol wrongdoing, and we won’t waste precious photons on it other than to mention pictures of private parts, rampant porn, sexting, major drug dealing, drug use, violence, beatdowns, threats, and countless incidents in and out of classrooms.

What a “clean” word to hide so much.
To compound the problem, a tiny fraction of the electorate voted in one of the most feckless, timorous bunches of Nervous Nellies in city history. They changed a flat tire with a spare named Peter Marchetti, installed a faint-hearted council, and elevated a quaking, cowering bunch and called it a school committee. Somehow, though, one honest and fearless member won office. That would be SC’s Batory. Again, we see how one person CAN make a difference.

When news of school department scandals spilled over the full cup, the city cooked up an “independent” investigation conducted by two “connected” retired ex-judges. Even though the report was sanitized and, according to authorities contained “nothing to see there, folks, now run along” officials have kept the contents of the whitewash flattened under a slimy rock. It begs the hanging question: Why? If they had simply released the report in the first place, The Suits probably would have succeeded again in wallpapering over a huge hole.
But no! They know better than you do. Let’s keep it hidden, let rumors fly, and allow scuttlebutt to prowl the fetid oceans of hearsay.
Why? Why is mayor-chair (sorta like boy-toy) Lumpy so desperate to keep the report from the light of day?
The true reason hasn’t come out, but we do know this much: Batory caught Lumpy in a lie. Nonetheless, she got no backing from her feckless colleague, and with that show of fear comes a second vote on whether to release the report or not.
MEMO TO ALL SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEMBERS: You are being closely watched. You should know if you do not vote to release the document, immediately, there will be … consequences.
ATTENTION: Peter Marchetti, Carolyn Barry, Heather McNiece, Dan Elias, Sara Muil, and Kathy Yon. You are hereby ordered by the powers invested in THE PLANET by We The People to enter a unanimous vote, 7-0, to immediately release the PHS report to the public. The Kapanskis only paid $155,000 for it.
Do not defy this command from your superiors.

Is there another awesome business coming to Pittsfield (Dan Fox drive) with their hand out for lucrative tax abatements? You know, the kind that seem to morph into never ending status causing hard working citizens to have to pay for them into eternity? The kind a Pittsfield mayor would never say no to cuz he gots people to make up the difference. Will they also get a break on their water and sewer bills which could be substantial, unlike Johnny paycheck or Sandy social security?
Sadly, the seniors who have been carrying the tax burden for Pittsfield are dying out and the younger folk Pete thinks will be stepping up to take their place are not there.

Brett Randon, Executive Director of Headstart might want to concentrate on her own job, especially when AI states that Headstart Pittsfield suffers from a “toxic culture”. Does it even occur to Mayor Lumpy and Queen Latifah that having to replace 61 positions last year was a large amount of positions. I am hearing there are many more teachers and paraprofessionals bailing out again this year. Do Lumpy and Queenie even wonder why?
Mayor Lumpy is refusing to release the report. What ever happened with the investigation at Stearns School last year when a student was locked in a closet. Why was that covered up also?
When paying my taxes last week I couldn’t help but wonder what I am getting from these high taxes. The traffic infractions in Pittsfield are completely out of control. Love to know when the speed limits on Merrill Road and Dalton Avenue became 70mph. Where is our new Police Chief on this, didn’t he run the Traffic Bureau? Guess that’s where my tax money goes, to pay the salaries of do nothings.

The only ones who cares are the people of color and the lovers of people of color. She is also on the board of directors for Greylock Credit Union. Any kid or kids who are emotionally harmed by hearing words, are destined for a hard life no matter what. This world is not easy and my idea of a good parent would be one that taught their child that words are words and that often they come from assholes, of which the world has many, one around every corner in fact. And if you are going to freak out every time someone uses a word that someone taught you was harmful, God help you as you venture out into the real world.
There are wars going on. People, including young school age children, are getting blown up. Some survive and go through life with artificial limbs and horrific recurring nightmares. These are thew ones I sympathize with.

Failing to realize this because of racial politics dooms children for “the real world.” An offensive word can be positive for the reason you mention, MEAN, since it identifies a jerk. If I am this teacher, I read the handwriting on the wall that so many other past Pittsfield teachers have read. And that is that teaching in this city is a mine field, overall unrewarding and better left to those with no other recourse. Ask yourself if you are climbing up a ladder or down. If this bad experience did not happen to you what other one might have. Becasue you’re in the city that will not even release an investigation report which was done to facilitate protecting the children. That kind of tells you the sketchy environment you are operating in.

I used to think they’d be worried about their pensions when the city goes bankrupt, but 1) they’d get bailed out unlike taxpayers who will just be taxed to fund the bailouts even if they starve 2) they have usually been promised jobs at non-profits that received embezzled taxpayer money 3) some have magically added several 0s to their net worth in office and are set for life after a few years of “service” anyway
