Kindly caustic, a friend to the afflicted, a foe to those that afflict

PLANET VALENTI is the umbrella home of writer, broadcaster, professor, provocateur, cynic, optimist, and pedestrian Dan Valenti. Valenti has built a brand name out of himself for his achievements in a number of creative areas.

On this site, which is now being built, you will find under BLOG the cyber-version of “Planet Valenti,” Dan’s no-holds-barred column. In print form, “Planet Valenti” runs each week in the Pittsfield Gazette. There, Dan confined his commentary primarily to Pittsfield and to a lesser extent Berkshire County and state happenings, if they relate to the city.

On the “Planet Valenti” blog, the universe opens up to Dan’s soothingly caustic world view — soothing to those who value truth, honesty, logic, and common sense, caustic to those with something to hide or wear their underwear too tight. Expect something daring and different. Those with thin skins or thick heads need not apply, though we thank them for hand-delivering so much great material to our surface.
The EUROPOLIS MANAGEMENT link will feature items pertaining to this management and production company. The focus will be on music, with art and performing arts second. We have two musical acts signed. Our first release will occur by the end of the year.
PLANET MEDIA BOOKS contains information on this publishing company, which opened
in 2010. Our inaugural title, “Spring’s Third Day” by Gt. Barrington writer Laura Gross, was published in September. That book is on sale at local bookstores and on Amazon.com. The Planet’s second title, “God is Bigger than THAT Book” by Madison, Wisc., poet Judy Washbush, is now under contract. Tentative plans call for the release of four titles in 2011.
We will be adding more as the days and weeks go by.
