WHEN THE EVIDENCE Is WEIGHED, ANDREA HARRINGTON IS THE ONLY INTELLIGENT CHOICE FOR DEM STATE SENATE ON SEPT. 8

PLANET VALENTI NEWS AND COMMENTARY

(FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, THOISDAY, 2016) — Ah, yes, the dateline. Guess it is the Curly Howard in us. Speaking of Goldilocks, THE PLANET has interesting new information on the crooked campaign of Adam Hinds, the talentless, hand-picked gofer-boy of the Machine bosses. THE PLANET has thus far exposed two examples of law breaking by that campaign. Are more ahead?

Yesterday, THE PLANET had a sit-down over coffee with attorney Andrea Harrington, who is challenging Hinds for the Democrat nomination for state senator for the 1st Berkshire District. So just who did we meet?

ANDREA HARRINGTON (PHOTO: andreaforsenate.com)

THE PLANET only met the best, strongest, and most solid of the three party candidates seeking the nod to face Christine Canning in November. We met someone who, despite our earlier criticism, not only answered our call to appear live in front of the TV cameras (tonight at 7 p.m. on PLANET VALENTI TELEVISION) but also agreed to yesterday’s sit-down. She proved she’s not afraid to face the same tests that has Baldy in mortal terror — meeting Daniel in the Lion’s Den privately then going on TV with him. Why do you think Hinds’ $15,000 on image consultants doesn’t want their bobo anywhere near the only honest media questioner in town. He has to much to hide and he’s not quick enough in the moment.

A Reversal Along the Via Politicalus

We had Harrington all wrong. THE PLANET had earlier put forth a theory of Harrington running to split the vote with the third man in, Rinaldo Del Gallo, a Bernie Sanders groupie who has even less chance of winning than did Mr. Sell Out did going against Mrs. Bill Clinton.

THE PLANET has new evidence, and we have never had a problem revising conclusions in light of fresh information. The details of that attestation shall remain hidden in the vaults at The Secret Squadron. Suffice it to say on authoritative grounds that vote-splitting as a favor to the Bosses is not and never was the case with Harrington. She’s running on her own. She has no hidden ties to Boston. In fact, she’s the only one of the three who can have any reasonable chance of 1st Berkshire success.

And how can we define success? How is a district representative to be judged? Given that (a) the state house and senate are controlled by two and a half people (senate president Stan Rosenberg and house speaker Bob DeLeo, with the guv counting as half a man) and (b) The Berkshires exist for the leadership only as a source of  “safe” votes and free junkets, local reps must excel in constituent service. That’s how we judge them.

HARRINGTON: At a recent campaign event (PHOTO: andreaforsenate.com)

Thus, the question boils down to this: Which of the three — Hinds, Harrington, or Del Gallo — can provide the best service for Mary Jane and Joe Kapanski? It’s not Del Gallo, who is seen too much as a loose canon. The Bernie attachment has gone from being a buoy to an anvil around the neck. It’s not Hinds, who is up to his slippery dome in clammy beholdings to The Suits and The Bosses. It’s Harrington, who grew up in the Berkshires as part of a three-generation local family, graduated from Taconic High School, earned a law degree in Washington, D.C., and has put down roots as an attorney and owner of a small business.

How unlike the carpet-bagging Hinds, who conveniently moved to the Berkshires just two years ago, magically ending up with a lucrative, taxpayer-funded position to stem the gangs who have overrun Pittsfield. Judging by the 1,000 or so gang members that have the once-lovely city in the grips of drugs, violence, and terror, Hinds has sure done a fantastic job … of cashing checks drawn on public money. The guy’s the worst kind of dud — a phony one. Everyone can love an honest incompetent. It’s the one’s who can’t get it done but lie about it that sink H.M.S. Good Hope. We The People go down with it.

While Hinds was inventing fiction about his “heroics” with the United Nations, Harrington was down in Florida working to overturn wrongful death-penalty convictions. Who would you rather have taking up your cause in the General Court on Beacon Hill?

There’s only one intelligent vote in the Democrat primary for state senate on Thursday, Sept. 8, and that’s Andrea Harrington.

I like the candidacy of Andrea Harrington, too, because she understands the difficulties of working families and financially constrained municipalities like Pittsfield and North Adams. She cares about both people and the communities they live in.
I also like Rinaldo Del Gallo, III, because he also understands what the common man or woman is going through in rural Berkshire County. Rinaldo has run for political office several times before, and he has been active in political circles advocating for shared parenting and environmental causes.
Adam Hinds is also for the little guy and helps the neediest among us.
I think all 3 Democratic candidates for Berkshire State Senator are awesome people. If I still lived in Berkshire County, I would cast my ballot for Rinaldo Del Gallo, III for State Senator. He is very intelligent and would work hard for progressive causes on Beacon Hill.
I graduated from high school in 1993 like Andrea Harrington. I went to PHS, while she attended THS. I don’t know her personally, but she is my peer. I hope Andrea Harrington stays involved in state and local politics!

Do you know how much influence city councilors and state representatives have over the economy? Just a hair more than I do as a private citizen. Which is almost nothing

This idea that the Government takes the blame or takes the credit for the shits in the incomprehensibly massive Marcro Economy which infinite number of variables interacting together is for sheep only.

Unless we are using situations in which Keynsian Economics becomes relevant in an Economic crisis to stimulate the Economy then the influence can be more significant.

Boston is doing well only because of the concentrated big money Democratic power insuring that the area does well. As for the rest of the state, particularly the western and central parts, these areas are not exactly thriving and the progressives could care less. As Dan V. has said they only care about our votes which these downtrodden areas seem to mindlessly given them regardless of what they get in return. Guess these ignored and poverty ridden areas are fine with being used and abused just for votes.

It’s similar to African American voters in which nearly 95% vote for Democrats despite the fact that Democrats do nothing for them except take their vote and then send them back into poverty until the next election when they are needed.

Who do you think wrote the Consent Decree? The Answer is GE! They dumped the PCBs right in the heart of Pittsfield and then placed caps on the toxic waste. The caps do not last forever! The caps become defective after a couple of decades. It was a band aid on a major injury!
Jack Welch and GE pulled a fast one on Doyle & Hickey!

If your into revisionist history you believe the Republican party was not for 8 long years responsible for 2 unpaid for wars and the absolute collaspe of the world economy in 2008.Yes Bush handed Obama a wor)d mess in every way and it took him 6 very long years to get it back on track.
The Obama book on what went on dealing with Mitchell McConnell who said his only elected responsibility was to get Obama out of office will be the most interesting story ever in the history of this country.
Republicans are always late to the table on every social issues and now they love debt. You need to know that Trump is not running as a conservative but as opposition to Clinton. He is running as a progressive as Pat describes as evil.

Progressives only help their special interest people. The rest of us are ignored. Poverty has increased under their watch. The so called recovery that you tout isn’t happening in many parts of the country including here in the Berkshires. There are so many progressives that could have whole books written on them in their role of promoting the progressive movement at the expense of the wellbeing of the country. Such notables as Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi come to mind.

I will vote for Trump because even though he isn’t traditionally Republican enough at least he isn’t Hillary and more of the Obama legacy. You like the policies of Obama? Then you should vote for Hillary. I do not like the Obama policies so I will vote for Trump. I think he will lean much more to the right rather than the left.

Ya gotta see the letter to the editor in today’s Eagle. Apparently Tricia went out of her way to help organize a vigil at park square to express grief for the victims of the Orlando shootings. And this is why you should vote for her?

Well who could top that?

I wanted to see that kind of concern from TFB for all of the problems we have locally. Instead in TFB we have the citizen of the world who ignores the problems right under her nose while focusing on the problems in other parts of the country. Imagine if she held a rally in Park Square calling attention to the increase in poverty right here in Berkshire County. Sadly, this would never happen because that would put her bosses in Boston and the whole progressive movement in a negative light since they are the ones in charge locally and in Washington as poverty has increased.

Once you leave Pittsfield heading east into the Pioneer Valley and such you see MANY MANY more Harrington signs. (Canning Signs are popping up all over Pittsfield too)

I’m hoping this is a good testament to what’s going on in the state outside the Machine controlled Pittsfield.

Personally, I was a huge Marchetti supporter (and still feel he is smarter than the average council member) but his pandering to the party and their chosen candidate lately has turned me away.

Unfortunately all he needs is Pittsfield and North Adams. 10 years ago Downing lost nearly every town in the district to Chris Hodgkins. In Pittsfield Downing’s vote was huge.

The fact that Hinds has absolutely zero experience in the private sector disturbs me. He has only been involved in government type positions.

How can he truly represent the hard working taxpayer and retiree when he has never been there. Answer: he can’t!

Hinds has refused to engage with Dan. Dan offered, Adam refused. Pretty simple. He does not wish to respond to questions pre-chewed and pre-digested.

As for his work with “at risk” populations, please show me the results of his trip across the water he walks upon? He was part of PCC for what, 6 months? N Berkshire Community Coalition, what 6 or 8 weeks before they gave him a “leave of absence”? Is he being paid for that?

At some point we can tell that in fact he has never held any job long enough to achieve any results. Canning and Harrington both have held jobs, and held them long enough to see if they were failures or successful. DelGallo has a history too, but unfortunately – I don’t need to vote for a guy who beats up his parents and helps men evade the responsibility for the kids they help to create.

I guess history can work for and against you.

Marchetti voted for a 6 million dollar record raise in new taxes.Marchetti is a faker banker business guy.He has no thoughts on how to cut the budget….half the budget is the schools and are we supposed to pretend Marchetti has no thoughts on schools.
We have higher taxes and a larger school system than you had before the budget.Mccandless is at record employees and record salaries for teachers. To much square footage for the amount of kids.
Also we would have many less kids but the area schools can’t take all the request.

Have to disagree with the consent decree. The people(i.e. citizens of Pittsfield) did not like it but the democrats in charge threw it down our throats. the kicker is even though the gems were in charge during all the poisoning of Pittsfield they are still in power. Hey, I just got home and found a copy of todays BB on my driveway!! It had a “who supports Trisha” wrapper – which was a pretty thin ad section.

So she paid to sample all of the BB’s non-subscribers in Pittsfield, and if my neighborhood off Elm St is any indication – we are the majority.

I am wondering though: How much did the advertising wrap[ cost? Who paid for it? Was it discounted – or could any candidate pay that and do that? What price were the papers and deliverers charged at?

I was always told that political ads are charged at the standard, non-discounted rate by law. Just wondering if this littering blitz was paid at that rate.

Also, note to Berkshire Eagle circulation department: If you can’t get me my paper when I rise for breakfast, around 4:50 AM, then it is valueless to me. the news is already old and I have moved on. My neighbor said it arrived around 9.

While that might still be dream time fro welfare slime, it is long past when I have eaten breakfast, drank my coffee, headed for work, and started my day.

I took the paper and tossed it. By 5:15 PM, it was already old and outdated.
